Private Corellian Heat

Tannon Vikorr

Guest
Location: Coronet City

The man's labored breathing finally started to come back to a steady rhythm. He stood, doubled over, overlooking the calm waters on the outskirts of Coronet City. Skyscrapers towered over him, casting their shadow on his exhausted form. For far too long had he ran from his pursuers, a thing Tannon had found happening much too often lately. The sound of dock workers and waves crashing against the walkway was a pleasant change from the crowd he had just escaped from. His body rose to full form as he continued to watch the waves. "I've got to get out of here," Tanon muttered to himself.

The walk from the docks to the nearest cantina wasn't far. Tannon was sure to hide his features with his hooded cloak as he walked. It wasn't much, but it would keep most of the security cameras from seeing his face. In truth, he had no idea why he was heading towards this particular cantina. It felt as though something was guiding him and he dutifully followed the sensation.

Tannon found himself more at ease in the cantina. It was lively, making it that much harder to draw attention to himself.
"I'm looking for a pilot." He told the Rodian barkeep as he approached the bar. Anyone paying enough attention would have been able to hear him. The Rodian waved him off, turning back to his other patrons. Tannon was disappointed. He had hopped they would know at least something. A quick look around the bar revealed nothing of note, so he made his way to a vacant table.

Music filled Tannon's ears as he waited, observing the other patrons. Anyone of them could be a pilot, but if he were going to be serious about this, not just any pilot would do. Although he had not committed any serious crimes, a long list of minor thievery related infractions had been enough to have him labeled as quite a nuisance. A sigh escaped his lips as he lowered his hood, revealing plain features. In here, he was just another face in the crowd. Tannon's fingers tapped against the table as he watched for something.

Sitting in the far corner, sipping away at his drink, Dareth observed the many patrons milling around the bar. He knew this waiting was bad. He still needed to keep paying back his debt. The last job barely paid enough to keep his ship running, let alone pay anything more to that crime boss.

As he mused, a small beeping drew his attention down. Renner whistled at his side, "Someone's looking for a pilot? Who is it buddy?" He asked the droid, sitting up in his seat interestedin what Renner had to say. Instead of speaking up, Renner turned and rolled away towards the bar. Dareth watched as the droid pulled up to Tannon's side. Renner taped Tannon's leg with its head, looking to get his attention.

While he waited, Tannon noticed something tapping against his leg. Looking down, he saw the mechanical being doing its best to grab his attention. It worked. Tannon wondered if someone had overheard him speaking or if someone he owed money to had seen him. There was only one way to find out. Following a series of beeps, he proceeded to follow the droid to its master.

As he made his way through the bar, Tannon noticed a patron turned away from his drink. A hand reached down to grab it, then swiftly brought it to his lips. The remainder of the drink went down without a hitch.
"Ah, Corellian Ale." Tannon said to himself before sitting the glass back on the table. He moved along as if nothing had happened.

Eventually the droid stopped at a table with a single patron. He assumed it belonged to this man.
"This your droid?" He asked, reassuring his assumption. Tannon took a seat before the man could respond. He was never one for manners.

"Yeah he's mine." Dareth replied, watching Tannon carefully, Can't afford to be choosy about work right now. "He said you were looking for a pilot. What kind? People? Or cargo?" Dareth asked. One was always more costly than the other. Except when the cargo was something valuable. As he learned to his eternal regret, "My ship can handle both. But one will be more comfortable than the other." He watched the man's face, waiting to hear what it was he was looking for.

Tannon nodded towards the man, then rested lazily in his seat. Despite his troubles, the young man looked quite relaxed. "Aye. I am looking for a pilot." He responded. His grey eyes rested on Dareth as he continued speaking. "People. Or, person, rather. Just me." He said, pointing a finger at himself while he spoke.

"This could be my ticket out of here." Tannon thought to himself. Of course, he would have to navigate this carefully. Not having anything meaningful in the way of credits could pose a real problem.
"My assets here are a little..." He trailed off. "Tied up." He finished. Tannon's pockets were light. He needed something to incentivize the man to take the job. "I have a few credits on me. Around two thousand. Should be enough to pay for any docking fees, considering how light the cargo will be." Tannon paused, considering his next words carefully. "I need to make it out to the mid rim. Kyshyyyk, I can pay twenty thousand credits upon our arrival." He hoped the man would take the bait.

Dareth listened to Tannon's explanation, Small amount now. Big pay later "22? Pretty impressive amount for a simple trip to Kashyyyk. Not that I'm complaining." He said, resting in his seat, "Alright. You have a pilot. My ship's docked at Bay 3-2-J. You know where that is?" He asked as Renner beeped, "Well you never know buddy. It's not like we knew there were several designated docks on our first trip here." He said to the droid, "We'll be leaving in two hours. You want off this rock. Be sure you're not late. Any questions?" He asked, I can't afford to waste time. Still got a lot to pay back to that man. And he's not liking the way this has been going.
