Public [Coruscant] A Cantina in the Depths

This guy... Envir halted and started backing up, the flat screwdriver still in hand. He carefully crouched behind a shipping container, listening to the creaking sound of the ramp lowering. He looked at Jack with worry, after watching the fight back in the cantina he most definitely did not want to end up getting caught by that Quarren.

A few moments of silence passed, and then footsteps. "Droyk," the corellian cursed under his breath. Jack had the valuable container and Envir felt pressured to quickly do something. It could only be moments before the quarren decided to close the ramp, they could of potentially waited till the quarren went into the cockpit but panic overwhelmed Envir.

In one swift motion, Envir tossed the screwdriver in the air and right before it hit the floor he used the Force to push the screwdriver towards the wall on the other end until it loudly clattered onto the wall. The quarren quickly shifted his attention to it and rushed towards the sound. Envir did a duck walk towards the ramp and right before sliding down, "Jack!" he remarked in a sotto voce.

Jack scooted back, thankful for Envir's distraction. The container felt heavy in his hand as he shifted over. He slipped down off the ramp just a moment after Envir, and just a moment before the ramp began to raise.

He waved the other towards the wall, just as the freighter began to take off. "Go! Go!" he hissed. He ducked under an awning, hiding from the ship as it spun lazily around. He sucked in a breath, trying best to hide himself and the canister as the Quarren was inevitably scanning the bay for intrusion.

Jack didn't move until a full two minutes had passed since the Quarren had taken off. Slowly he sat up, careful not to rattle the canister too much. It was very precious cargo. "...You still with me, man?"

As soon as his boots hit the floor, Envir rushed towards the starship parked parallel to the GT-1000 to find concealment under its wings. He took deep breaths as he waited for what seemed like forever, then upon hearing his confrères voice he walked out of his hiding spot.

"Yeah," Envir replied, he looked irritated for a moment until a smile spread on his face, making him look rather silly. "Well, that was close," sneaking onto a ship to steal something was now on his list of don'ts, sure, he survived this but perhaps it would be best to not do it again. The whole plan even made Envir rethink his smuggling methods, he kept a mental note to go back home to Corellia and maybe even Nar Shadda to get some stuff for his starship.

His gaze went to the container in Jack's hand, "So...?"

"So. Profit time, then." Jack grinned, hefting the container one last time. "Follow me."

He hopped back into the speeder a moment later, leisurely driving through Coruscant's streets. "Gonna be about another forty minutes or so. What do you wanna tell me about yourself?" he joked, one hand on the steering wheel and the other carefully on the tube next to him.

The padawan ardently followed along, time wasn't to be wasted and so he hopped onto the speeder he had used earlier. Envir couldn't think of the last time he had ridden a speeder for even more than ten minutes, in the past few years he was so used to travels on his starship, barely spending time on land.

"The full name is Envir Vadul," he said bluntly, it felt strange saying his full name.

"Vadul. Nice to meet you, I'm Sandrow. But you knew that already." His eyes flicked over to the other. "So.... is that lightsaber on your belt just for show? Or do you know how to use it?" It was genuine curiosity. "Never got to put mine to use before they were destroyed. Found some new ones, though... still pretty mediocre at it."

Envir chuckled at his comment, "Y-yeah of course! I made it," he stuttered defensively, he was rather proud of his skill set however, he still had plenty of flaws and things to learn. He was accomplished when it came to the soresu form, but the rest were pretty bad... The stubborn padawan did not spend much time practicing the other forms in his younger years.

"I was trained for six years..." Envir added on, thinking about his departed Jedi master. "Uhm, how long have you used your lightsabers for?" he asked curiously.

"Ough... I can probably count the months. That is to say, I've had just about no real-world experience with them." He shrugged. "Which makes me about as dangerous to my enemies as I am to myself. If I don't know what I'm doing, they can't hardly know what I'm doing." He chuckled at that.

"Any skills besides the Force?" he queried. "You handled yourself pretty good back there."

"Ah well, if you'd like we could perhaps practice some time...?" He asked, it had been a very long time since he had a proper sparring partner. Jack certainly had the spirit and great mindset when it came to his own skills. Sometimes you just have to wave your lightsaber around and hope for the best.

"Not really, I'm just your typical Corellian that knows his way around ships if you take away the Force aspect," Envir replied, and it was the harsh truth. Envir wasnt exactly anything special, nor did he know what he wanted to be. Six years of training and high hopes only to end up a lost mess, on a speeder, after stealing contraband.

"As all Corellians should be," Jack joked, nodding a bit. "And yes, I might take you up on that lightsaber training. Never know when it might come in handy."

He patted the steering wheel. "For me... I've been toeing the line between Force user and non-Force user. I'd consider myself skilled in the more... ahem, dubious sides of life. I don't want to make waves, or be a criminal, mind you - I just want to consider myself independent of the galaxy at large. If there are ways to make money legally, I do jump on them. Like being a whiskey shipper, for example."

Envir nodded, "The galaxy is quite large, with so many things happening between factions... I sometimes think taking a step back and being independent might be the best thing to do," he said, followed by awkward silence as Envir tried to put together his words. He looked at the surroundings as they sped by, flashing lights of signs, and blurry faces. Blurry faces that had their own little lives, simply trying to get by through their days. The padawan didn't want to be like that. Sure, freelancing and doing shipments here and there was working out so far for Envir but he craved something more.

He looked at Jack, "But uh, y'know, I sometimes also think about seeking out knowledge of the Force, not to sound like a nerd or anything," Envir added on, for some reason he almost said power instead of knowledge, the realization made him a little uneasy.

"Oh, not at all! Searching for answers across the galaxy is a good way to get an unbiased view of everything. Just make sure you're vetting everything you learn - you'll almost certainly come across people wanting to sell you on their way of life." He waved one hand a bit. "That's not to say their way of life might be bad? Just that you should always be wary of those you put your trust in." A half smile. "Yes, myself included."

He took in the sights a moment, making a course correction to head down a new lane. "Whatever you plan to do... dedicate yourself to it. Find something you want to do, and don't let anyone tell you 'no'. Whether that's just shipping, or smuggling, or training in the Force... make sure you know what you want to do. And just.... do it."

Envir was silent for a moment, processing what Jack had said. "You... have a way with words heh," he ended up saying, Jack was right, the padawan thought about his goals. He needed to actually act on them, instead of sticking to this stuff that was supposed to be temporary. Envir needed to actually dedicate himself to seeking out the knowledge he wanted, maybe even actually try to find a new Jedi master to teach him and get him through the trials.

Looking ahead, he asked, "So, is there anything I should know before we arrive?"

"Nope! Just keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times, don't speak unless spoken to, and try to leave all the business dealings to me." A moment, and he added, "Oh... if something looks suspicious, like they're going to double-cross us, give me a little poke with the Force, or whatever. I do try to be an upstanding smuggler, but not everyone is of the same opinion."

It was not a while longer, but the ride was nice. Coruscant had its occasional perks, though the miles upon miles of concrete and durasteel in every direction wasn't his choice of an ideal scenic view. He preferred Endor or Yavin, but... almost no one lived there, which was actually what he liked. So if lovely views and raw nature meant sacrificing his time to keep other people on planets like this? Well, he wasn't going to say no.

Jack circled a poorly maintained shipping yard. Abandoned and forgotten by traditional workers, it had fallen to the behest of the smugglers and sellers to make it still useful. Jack pointed to a spaceship that was just pulling in to land, and gestured to Envir, "That's our buyer." He pulled a slow turn, landing about a hundred feet or so away from the other ship, hopping out with the canister in hand. "Alright... no sudden moves, yeah?"

Envir Vadul Envir Vadul

Envir had no intention of disrupting the transaction whatsoever, the less he had to talk the better. Such matters were too complicated for Envir, especially considering how moody and snappy he could get if someone opposed him in any sort of way. After the long ride he realized how utterly tired he was, the night was supposed to be somewhat relaxing but as long as he got his share of credits then it was worth it.

The one thing he did not like though, was the setting. He did not like making deals in secluded areas, even if they were known for such matters there was always a discomfort in the chances deals would go wrong. Jack seemed pretty experienced and so Envir nodded, "Yep, no sudden moves, poke with force, blah blah," he said as he got off the speeder.
