Coruscant : (L.T.I) - Planetary Monopoly

"You know, I think a lot about the Galaxy... It's vastness... The different species... The innocent... The peace that was never attained. Was there progress? Yes of course... But, not enough. So I ... Andrew Lonek... Head tech developer of Lonek Tech Industries or L.T.I., I Am sending out an encrypted message to the guilds and independent contractors to help secure planets that would align with the people's morality and constitutions. It's about the war...Not the battle...I Will be on my home planet of Coruscant...If you are looking for me, I am not hard to find.

Andrew out of the 12th floor loft window as the Sun Rose over the Galactic City. The Imperial Heights Tower. It was his new home, for now. The service droid would walk over nonchalantly and pose in the same manner as it's owner. This 3po like model was reformatted to think and act semi-sentient. Programmed to serve Mr.Lonek in basic nourishment and tailored needs primarily.

"Sir. You have received an inquiry from a one known as Makar Clyne Makar Clyne ... He should be arriving shortly according to the droid intel. Would you like a personal escort for this participant?"

"No.. That's alright K-5. I am sure if Mr.Clyne is on his way, he will know how to give the proper identification. Just notify the Agents at the floor level. And prepare fine brandy as well." Lonek responded while adjusting his black shades. It was early enough for him. Not to mention he had not slept in 24 hours due to a "late night" party in which case he found out about the political shift within the city. Now was the time to gather like-minded people, and extend his reach for a common cause.

Makar had heard the call over the holonet, someone had big plans for Coruscant, plans that he'd love to be apart of! The Epicanthix made his way from a rented speeder into the lobby of the tower, bringing with him nothing more than himself and his armor. He had specifically chosen to forego his weapons in order to put his new potential partner at ease.

Even without any weapons, Makar gave off an intimidating presence. Surely the workers he passed by would wonder just why someone like that was just casually strolling through the building? He didn't even try to play the part of a businessman, rather he just walked around like he owned the place. The main elevator filled quickly, and was fairly cramped for the Epicanthix, who stood over a head taller than the average alien. Still, he waited patiently to reach his destination, the top floor of the spire.

Once there, he eyed the security of that floor, who quicky asked him for identification. He furrowed his brow before presenting a holopuck that held a projection of his relevant data. They were lucky he was playing the role of the law abiding citizen today...

"I will be seeing your employer now, unless you'd like anything else?"

There was silence in the room, until one of the guards coughed, quickly leading the man forward.

"Mr.Lonek! It is good to finally meet you in person! I must say, you have built yourself quite the operation. I can tell just by that, that you and I are of a like mind. Both of us are no doubt ambitious men, men who wish to see the Galaxy change quite drastically."

Andrew Lonek Andrew Lonek

"Tell me Mr. Clyne, what is it you believe we have in common, aside from ambition? Many men claim to seek change, but few understand what that truly entails. And what I mean is...Sometimes, we get our hands dirty. That is subjective, to say the least. I have found in my profession a lot of abandoned projects; allies come and go, enemies stay. Forgive my prodding, but according to a public database, you are highly regarded as a legendary pirate of the skies. Pirates are known for treachery, doubling down, and hostile takeover."

Andrew chuckles as K-5 moves toward Makar's side and offers a flute of brandy with some assorted fruit.

"So you worry that I may be more of a liability than an asset? A fair assumption of my character, if you believe everything that you hear. I however, believe you are smarter than that Mr.Lonek..."

Makar sipped at the flute of brandy in his hand, a wide smile replacing his normally stern and stony features. Andrew was an interesting fellow from what it seemed, intelligent but playful, and even a bit paranoid. Though, in his defense, there was much in the world to be paranoid about when you were at the top of the corporate ladder. Plenty of people wanted to push you back to the bottom.

"Though it may be hard to believe, I do right by those that align themselves with me. I hold one of the largest pirate fleets in the inner rim, and have become quite adept at keeping my crew alive and on my side. Neither of which come easy to someone who is persistently hounded by both The Alliance and rival pirates."

As the pirate walked over to the windows of the top floor penthouse, he stared out at the passing airspeeders and towering high-rises. It was something he'd never dreamed he'd see before, and yet here he was drinking it in. So close, and yet so far from true freedom...

"To answer your previous inquiry, I believe we both share many small aspects, but our main common ground is that we are men that are willing to do what is needed. If we must, we will break the backs of those in our way, and step over the mounds of broken men we leave in our wake. True, I may be more literally destructive, but I have no doubt that you could ruin people whom dare to cross you."

"Indeed. But thats a last resort if you will. So, largest pirate fleet. Im assuming your vessel is a registered aircraft? I would love to take a look up close and personal. What defenses do you have?"

He asks while taking off his blazer. Andrew got a good vibe from this man. And could tell he was a man of honor with some type of moral code. Even if it was his own.

"All of my ships are registered to their various captains, at least officially. Obviously we go to great lengths to keep any sort of government interference out of our fleet. At current we are about nine ships strong, but that's not including freighters and other such support craft. In just a short while we've gained ships hailing everywhere from Corellia to fringes of the outer rim!"

To emphasize his point, Makar spread his arms out, almost trying to embrace the view out of the window. Yes, he was quite proud of his relatively small fleet. They had survived engagements in the core, making the Alliance look like fools. Even the his brush with the overzealous Cathar served to only embolden him.

"Mark my words Mr. Lonek, I am not just some simple brigand content to pillage and loot, a deal with me, is a deal with a living legend..."

Makar's eyes smoldered as he looked to the human, a small grin on his lips before he returned them to his drink. A short chuckle leaving his throat after he swallowed. Yes, this was a perfect way to show the businessman who he was dealing with, if Andrew stuck around, it would only be his own fault.

"Which of course, leads me wonder... What is a legitimate businessman doing allowing someone with such a reputation? It must be quite the task if you're willing to allow a pirate of my renown into your place of business..."

Mr. Lonek nods uncomprehensively while rubbing his hands together. "That's a good number of ships, I must say. Someone of your caliber has a reputation for sure. You pose an interesting question. Why would a businessman like myself be willing to partner with someone in your line of work? I thought the answer was complicated, but it's simple. Planetary defense systems require a force. A team if you will. Coalition? I don't know what to call it yet. So many random invaders, ships, freighters, fighter crafts fall through the atmosphere's cracks. Even with the best aircraft patrol for ID recognition, everyone lands, hides and before you know it, a war is on our hands."

"Have you heard of the recent war between the Sith and the GA? Still recovering from that. It should have been stopped before it was even started. We could have repelled them far away from home with the right security measures in place. I guess what I am saying is I could use an Ally like yourself."

Now things were getting truly interesting, they were getting to the meat of the conversation now. The thought of assisting in this new coalition had merit, he would gladly hear out the proposition. Then the subject of the Galactic Alliance and Sith came up, and Makar leaned in, pondering his next words very carefully.

"The Galactic Alliance and Sith can have their war, and with any luck they'll wipe each other from the stars."

Makar had no great love for either side, and he most especially would like to see the Alliance crushed under heel. His only quandary was how could he be the one to strike the final blow? Yes, the so-called lawmakers of the galaxy would fall, whether by his hand or by the weight of their own corruption. It would be sweet either way.

"I do tend to agree with you Mr. Lonek, you have the right of it. The war between the Alliance and Sith could have been avoided, but the fat pigs in charge of such things were far too greedy to ever allow it. There is much profit in war, something that even I am not free from, as my crews gladly slip through the cracks created by the Alliance's navy being stretched thin."
