Crazy Like Me (The Galactic Alliance)

When Coren took the blaster, she hoped that he didn't notice her trembling green fingers. Was she ready for this? Not really. Was anyone ever really ready to grab a blaster beam out of the air and bring it into her body? But Chevu trusted in the Force. She took a deep breath and centered herself, allowing tranquility to flow over her mind and body.

"I'm ready," she told Coren, with a calm, unwavering stare.

Out of the corner of her eye she noticed a man sitting nearby, watching them. She was curious about him, as humans were uncommon in this part of Sullust. Perhaps he was a member of Coren's team? She gave him a smile and then turned her head back to her teacher.

"Give it your best shot, Starchaser," she said.

Whoever said guns were uncivilized was probably being reinvented into someone wearing a dress and sleeping with dark side users. That was person was also wrong. Blasters and fire arms? They were the best for taking down a foe from a distance, not having to worry about getting close and dealing with that mess. Yeah, Coren preferred to take them down from afar and let the Jedi do their thing, or just get in really close and mess with their defense.

Give it his best? Coren wouldn’t do naything less. A student of his had to be ready for all situations. “You’re a saber wielder, right? This’ll help if you get too many bolts thrown at you.” He grinned, taking the time to clear his head, the Force bleeding off, the energy being discharged, like static, something he didn’t like to do, because, well it felt like static, and stung. Still, he focused.

Training the blaster at her shoulder, he fired, at worst, he’d wing, her, give her a scar, and she’d be fine, at best, she’d show him it could be done and he wasn’t that terrible of a teacher.

But first lessons and all.

"I haven't been out in the black too long. So maybe I won't be able to full appreciate the delight that awaits me."

[member="Chloe Blake"] was always an interesting creature. Cheery. Upbeat. Their conversation was easy. It picked up as if they had just stopped talking at the last spaceport. Either the woman wasn't surprised she hadn't seen him for years on end or this was her personality. Maybe since she spent so much time in the black it was something she was used to. Couldn't exactly schedule social visits in the middle of nowhere.

"My hair was cut for a bit, you can see it didn't last"

Judah reached out, pulling out one of the small chairs located at their table. He motioned with a full hand for the spacer to take a seat. Just because they were out in the black at a convenience station didn't mean his manners completely flew out the window.

"Besides, I can say the same for you. Don't look any different than you did when we first met. Where've you been hiding at anyways? You know, after the Vagrants disbanded."

With a small rut in her smooth, young brow, Chevu gathered the Force around her, letting it flow through her body and filter up into her lithe arms. The Mirialan Knight may not have been battle-hardened yet, but she was extremely well-trained. A year doing nothing but training velocities with a crazy Sullustan Jedi Master was good for that. Control over the Force was her thing.

As the blaster bolt came zinging towards her, Chevu she braced herself for it with outstretched hands, palms splayed. As the energy touched her hands, it felt...fizzly? She wasn't sure how to describe it. She could feel it pouring into her hands, flowing through her arms, mingling with the Light Side. Her body was an energy conduit and felt even more alive as it absorbed Coren's blaster bolt. It was a strange feeling that almost took her breath away.

She bit her lip nervously. What was she supposed to do with the energy now? She had to release it somewhere, right? She hoped Coren would tell her how before she sent it somewhere bad...like in the direction of the onlooker.

Chloe gave Judah a sassy grin. Sitting down with her burrito in hand, she would scoot until she was comfortable. There was an eagerness to her blue eyes, an enthusiasm that spoke of many months out in the black without this glorious frozen but nuked concoction!

The Nuna and Cheese burrito!

With gusto, she would unwrap the cellophane and get to sprinkling some of that hot sauce. "Me?" she began, a curious question that would follow with a half grin, "Here and there." she would tell him.

"Up and down the Hydian way. Went drifting off down the Tingal Arm... Tash Taral for a while there." so began her tale. " Wandering down over to Esk... spent about a year there." there was a vividness in her blue eyes, an impish delight.

"Found some shiny things." her head went cocking to the side and she wagged her eyebrows.

"What about you?"

It didn't seem to take long for [member="Chloe Blake"] to settle in and attack her food. Judah was barely seated before she was sprinkling hot sauce all over the crispy goodness of the burrito. He was mildly amused as she worked on spinning her tale in addition to trying to get her food just right.

"A year at the Esk? He must have been some guy."

Taking the bottle from her, Judah liberally sprinkled on his own hot sauce.

"Been around. Ceto. Levantine Space, Silver Sanctum Space. Nothing too exciting. Its no wandering down the Tingel Arm or Hydian Way."

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

Chloe gave a slight amused snort, then a cheeky grin, "Depends," she flashed those pearly whites. "If you are into Whiphids that is." That was a reference to the Priests of the Tusk. All in all traveling and exploring Esk was a fantastic time. She brought back many things, a few interesting energy Force crystals, and then some neat tech. All in all, with the new hyperlane charts and maps, she was happy.

"That so?" needless to say, we must remember that the last time Chloe saw Judah, he was single and a Vagrant. No kid or wife!

"Is that what you've been up to since the attack on the station?" way back when the Bando Gora Reavers had attacked the shadow port one last time. Where they all that do work together to get the hyperdrive to work and escape the attack.

[member="Chloe Blake"]

"I'm not a Whiphid man myself. More power to you though."

Smirking at his own joke, the shaggy CEO bit into his nuna and cheese delight as Chloe continued to speak. Technically during his time with the Vagrant Fleet he had been dating one Miss Kai , living together on the Siren's Song. Vagrant Fleet was also the start of the beginnings of Salacia Consolidated, but Judah was fairly certainly the other wasn't looking for a biography.

"Since the attack? Yes and no. Been busy with the company, raising the Tadpole."

There was a slight roll of his shoulders, a shrug as he stole the hot sauce bottle once more.

"Nothing as exciting as your Whiphid love fest."

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

Enter a rather confused quirk of a brow mid hefty burrito bite.

Tadpole?

Did he get a pet mudfish? Really anything was possible and for the Warden, she'd seen just about everything. "How that's going for you then?" mid munch, one hand quickly coming up to her mouth to make sure not a single scrap of burrito goodness would fall victim to gravity.

She had beside her a nifty 20oz drink called Caf-Pow. A rather orange fuzzy drink that well.. well it did something and it was heavily caffeinated. As if becoming aware of the situation, she gave a gesture mid swallow and did the universal signing of -- want met o get you one?

Coren was a practical Forcer, he wasn’t ever going to be one who would be a Consular. No, he was, at best, a Sentinel, at worse, merely a Guardian. When he learned the Force, he learned it as it was. What was the power? Why did he need it? What could he learn to make it better? He was the type who would circumvent most of the knowledge to get everything else. To get his end, what were the means? Were the means justifiable?

With the shot, he watched, and reached out to his apprentice. Coren was not a healer, but he could get her to one very quickly. He could feel the Force fold around her, swaddling her to pull the energy in. The Corellian nodded, a grin on his face.

“Now, show me what you can do. Impress me.” What was her skillset? This was a way to find out.

Passing a napkin in the direction of [member="Chloe Blake"] , Judah continued on with his tale. Fair blonde eyebrows seemed to raise in surprise at the comment of a tapdole. Was the spacer thinking he meant a literal tadpole? That he was raising some exotic backwater frog in a tank? It would be possible. In his early scrapping days he saw some weird things. Weirdest thing he ever had was a 'love fern'. That was another story.

"Makai is great. It was hard to believe at first they let you go home with this little guy. I can't remember life before him now honestly.The kid is practically my smaller, better looking shadow. "

Judah shook his head at the drink. He had water....the orange fizzy drink looked dangerous. Something one got drugged with in a seedy club type of dangerous.

"Plannin' on stayin' up all night Miss Blake? More Whiphids?"

Chevu could show Coren what she was made of, but first she had to get rid of the energy that crackled just underneath her skin. Unless...she used the energy instead of releasing it. With her jaw tightened in concentration, the Mirialan focused on mingling the energy with the Force, using it as extra kindling. Master Oomomo was a practitioner of many obscure types of skills, the more ancient the better. One of them was called Malacia, an altering power that affected the equilibrium in an opponent by focusing on the opponent's bodily functions, without causing permanent damage, of course.

"Impress you, huh?" she said with a laugh. "Ok, you asked for it."

Chevu took all of the energy and used it in an attempt to reach inside of her Master's body. She targeted his blood, digestive and gastrointestinal system. She jokingly called it Force Puking, a name that never failed to elicit an eye roll from the Sullustan.

Chevu wasn't a Master of the power yet, but had enough of a grasp that if Coren succumbed to it, he would probably feel fairly nauseated.

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

His smaller, better looking shadow?

It was like the lightbulb flashed to life then. A rather cheesy grin and a widening of her eyes relayed her surprise and wonder, then came the giddiness.

"You have munchkin running around?" her mind quickly began to add two and two together. Wait, wasn't he with, "With Thessa?!" the excited exclamation would practically roll off the woman in a wave. She even set down her burrito!

"How old is he? Where is he? And oh my goodness!" she gave a swipe over her lips with the napkin and then crumpled it up, setting it on the table. "This calls for a celebration!" Okay a day late and a credit short, but it was evident that Chloe wanted to still relay that belated cheer. She came from a very large family, and if there was one thing they always celebrated was the birth of a little one.

"How bout after this we head on to the Aurora. I got some of my granddad's stock he sent me not too long ago."

"How about that?" Kahne pointed out politely to the vendor as he looked up and down trying to find something good that was edible.

"Out." The vendor said abruptly.

"This?" Kahne pointed to something else.

"Out."

"That?" The Jedi pointed again.

"Out."

"What would you recommend."

"You could try the burritos, they are quite the trend here."

"I've never had a burrito before."

"You must lead a boring life then." The vendor retorted, as he handed him a burrito.

"I'm not so sure about that." Kahne said with a smirk in reference to a boring life, he hesitated before take a bite of the burrito chewing slowly and thus swallowing the food and a smile came across his face. "Hey, this is pretty good!" The Jedi said with a chuckle. "It needs a little more spice but its good. I"ll take 3 more for my journey." Kahne said as he placed the credits that were necessary and the other 3 were bagged up. Kahne noted that he would definitely need to come back this way. Luckily the port wasn't that crowded today, that could easily change though.

The Master waited a moment. He was intrigued by what the student of his could do. She had been granted to him by a Master that he wasn’t sure he met. Was it the Force that brought them together? It would be something along those lines, perhaps. But he was going to roll with it. Learn, adapt, overcome, kill Sith. Coren’s base programming was pretty simple.

He wasn’t sure he could get the Mirialan flying, but that was always a possibility.

When she claimed he asked for it, he turned to her. And that was when he started feeling that tell tale feel in his stomach. That of food poisoning. Something eaten that had gone bad. He reached out to the Force, instinctively and pulled the altering ability to him, and worked to convert it. This was not something he could do, but settling a stomach and holding back vomit wasn’t anything like healing.

“That’s… unique.” He looked to her. “Where did you learn that?”

[member="Kahne Porte"]

She could see Coren's face turning a shade of green that almost matched hers and stifled a nervous laugh. No, Chevu making your new Master sick to his stomach is no joking matter. Sadly, once the floodgates opened, she couldn't stop giggling. The Mirialan pinched herself on the leg through her pants to finally stop snickering. So awkward.

"Master Oomomo taught me that power," she explained. "It's called Malacia. He recommended using it as often as possible since the power causes no lasting damage to the target. Oomomo stressed the idea of killing in self-defense only. Otherwise, we are no better than Sith."

She seemed almost unsure of her last statement, and truth be told, she was. How were the Jedi going to be able to defeat the Sith if they only killed in self-defense. It seemed like a logistic impossibility. Her deep brown eyes studied Coren, brows knitted in concern. He still looked a bit pale.

"Are you ok, Master Starchaser?"

Oops, she called him Master again.

Her enthusiasm for a boy she hadn't met was amusing to him. Like one discovering one of the great mysteries of the 'verse or finding an ancient artifact. Questions peppered the conversation suddenly about his son and whether it had been with [member="Thessa Kai"] . Fishing around in his pocket, Judah found his comm and handed it over for Chloe to look through the recent images. It wasn't as if he had anything scandalous hiding in the device to begin with.

"Yes,he belongs to Thess and I......Lets see...roughly five or so now, give or take. Old enough to start questioning everything but young enough to still have that little kid innocence still left in him. Tryin' not to let him grow up too fast, there's enough of that around the 'verse."

Celebration? Judah shook his head. This certainly wasn't cause to go out and...do whatever it was Chloe thought was celebration.

"Right now he's with a family friend while I am on Sullust, its a bit dangerous here. His Ma is out of town so to speak for awhile."

"Doesn't a celebration normally call for a cigar? Its not really worth cracking open your good alcohol and waste it on me. Besides, we're a little late on the party at this point."

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

"There is never a bad time for a celebration!" Chloe would beam out at Judah with a wide smile and warmth in her blue gaze. A waggle of her eyebrows and a beckoning nod of her head would send the message clearly.

"We can stock up on more frozen burritos and wet our whistle on the Aurora." she would offer, taking another bite of her own delight and avid gusto. The Corellian certainly enjoyed eating.

"Mm!" a thought came to her, wiping her mouth with her hand and then gesturing over to Judah. "Shouldn't take long, unless ya'll got other plans to get done for your company and all?" she asked, watching him as she took a hold of her drink and began to imbibe the highly caffeinated and carbonated drink.

Judah smiled back. He liked [member="Chloe Blake"], well natured and easy going with a catching enthusiasm. Unlike most in the 'verse she was quite genuine. Perhaps it was the farm kid thing he could relate, the dedication to family life. While it was never a bad time for a celebration, Judah didn't drink. Chloe owned or co-owned a distillery of some type. There was bound to be alcohol.

"No, no. My day is pretty much done.....I'm free for a bit."

There was a slight pause. He hoped he wasn't stepping into anything foolish.

"I'd love to celebrate with you Miss Blake...uh...just don't get too disappointed. Not much of a partier."

[member="Judah Dashiell"]

A sassy grin and a wink would flash over at the Dashiell.

"Ain't no trouble at all," she sang out to him, pushing in her chair with a nudge of her hip. "'Sides, just a little social hour that's all." she would state, intending to soothe over any fears he had.

"Catch up on what has gone on here and there for you." she would suggest, already rounding the table towards the man. A nod from her head would encourage him to follow her. "Aurora ain't too far at all." She was so infectious with her sweet sociability that it was a hard thing to say no to.

"You've seen anyone else from Vagrant the last few years or so?" came her first question, ambling along to leave the food court and head towards the docking area.
