OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Crimson Citadel
  • Classification: Capital Building/Royal Palace
  • Location: Saijan City, Saijo
  • Affiliation: Darth Fury | Sith Order
  • Accessibility: The Citadel is a heavily guarded and restricted building due to it's political, administrative and historical importance. Though some areas are less restricted to the public than others, any citizen or tourist would require security clearance to enter the massive structure. It's guards have been known to kill on sight anyone it deems as trespassing without further questioning.
  • Description: The Crimson Citadel is a massive, sprawling structure that inhabits the very center of the metropolis known as Saijan City on the planet Saijo. From it's underground levels to the busy city streets all the way to it's many pointed towers that stretch into the ever dark sky. The very architecture of the building is a dark gothic tone with modern corporate design mixed with aristocratic ornamentation and splendor. It's thousands of rooms and halls being just as diverse in decoration while retaining that gothic, sleek modern design. Some of the older areas of the building, such as the underground levels, retain their ancient Sith style with old stone structures and inscribed carvings.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Crimson Hall: The main entry and grandest interior of the Citadel is it's Crimson Hall. This is the main atrium and thoroughfare of the building. It is where almost every level can be accessed and where every persons from the King down to the lowly data clerk will find their way to their respective domains.
  • Throne Room: While the name speaks for itself, as does it's decor, this room is one of the most heavily guarded within a already restricted complex. Here is where court is held, policies decided and diplomacy weighed. It is the beating heart of the entire planet.
  • High Hall: Sounding very regular, the chamber is anything but. 'The Hall' as it is commonly known is where members of the sitting aristocratic elite bicker and utilize their influence daily in attempt to adjust, create or sway policy of the planet. While technically appointed by the King, the seats are indeed hereditary and usually stay within a single House.
  • Royal Ballroom: This massive room serves as threefold; first, it is where the ancient, royal artifacts and art are displayed around the year. Second, it serves as the main gathering area for parties and otherwise other noble functions which require more people than some of it's lesser wings. Thirdly, it is where diplomatic envoys are also entertained during the duration of their stay.
  • Red Library: The name is as much a description of it's general decor as it is the contents of the various collection of archives within. The knowledge gathered within has been collected and maintained for millennia and doesn't seem ready to stop growing quite yet.
  • Black Wing: Serving as both permanent and temporary quarters for the enormously various amount of people who come and go from the complex, the Crimson Wing host many stately quarters as big as a Nar Shaddaa penthouse.
  • Red Wing: This wing of the Citadel includes various rooms and services for the King alone. The King's own Royal Chambers are located within though contain many more rooms and services than those of the more public Black Wing. Sith meditation chambers, a royal study, personal armory and various other rooms are housed within and heavily guarded and monitored.
  • Catacombs: Deep beneath the Citadel, further down than even the dungeons, lies within the Sith catacombs. This ancient labyrinth served as some proto-Sith temple filled with Dark Side energy. It is down here that Darth Fury himself keeps his personal laboratory and collection of various artifacts, weapons, holocrons and other items. Only he knows how to gain entry into these dark bowels of the Citadel and what he does down there is known only to himself.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Citadel itself was originally built millenia ago by the first explorers believed to have to located and settled Saijo. It's foundations were built atop an ancient Sith temple with a strong connection to the dark side of the force. Though this first incarnation of the building remained for centuries; it wasn't until decades ago that the Sith regained control and started to expand. The structure was modernized and expanded to eventually encompass the very heart of the city it stands within. The current iteration of it is grand in scale and grander in design.

Now with the arrival and rule of Darth Fury has the complex truly started to become a hotbed of the nobility, corporate and military power. It currently, and has in the past, serves as the political and administrative capital building of the planet and wider sector it is charged with. The pure bureaucratic machine required to keep this beast running requires hours of daily toll and labor. With it's recent advancements in both tech and security, it has attracted even more visitors and bureacrats alike which as firmly established it as a stronghold of business and intrigue.
