Anneliese stood in front of the large mural -- her left hand holding up the lightstick, her free hand slowly coming too and touching the wall as her eyes scanned the intricate etchings. The mural, the depiction -- they were not just a community... it had been a tribe, a family. Noting three prominent families raised above the group in the mural, her hand began to trace them... "Is this?..." Her words escaping her thoughts, verbally speaking them aloud.

She heard Roman's feet shuffling off, just a few steps away... not really noting what he was doing until she heard him speak to her. Turning to face him her eyes panned down and saw the outstretched doll. As her hand stretched to grab the doll, her fingertips just barely touching it, a vision flashed before her eyes. Laughter, eerie giggling as she saw the small child that ran with it, doll stretched out catching wind. The sunlight, pouring down on the city ground... moonlight, palpable tension in the air... Red Moon... malice, hate -- hopelessness and fire all around... screaming, unfiltered cries.

She stood there, hand barely on the doll, for what felt a long time to Annie, was a mere second in reality. Tears immediately streamed down her face as her breathing became heavily laden. Snapping back, as if she'd been in a trance she jerked back, her hand dropping the light-stick as she unclipped her saber, the blade breaking forth with a loud 'snap-hiss'.
"No! It's here! It's here! The Nameless One! The Great Darkness!" Her voice trembling with fear, her eyes glazed over -- her hand bringing the saber up as she pivoted around, inhaling a sharp breath as tear's poured down her eyes. As she began to speak again, there was a edge in her voice, almost a growl -- the usual gentle tone distorting with fear and anger.. "On the night of the Red Moon, when the sky bleeds crimson and shadows dance in the twilight, the Nameless One shall rise. From the depths of forgotten realms, he will emerge, cloaked in mystery and bound by fate. The stars will tremble, and the earth will whisper secrets long buried..." Drawing upon the force unconsciously she released a small force wave, debris falling down as the ruins groaned, her hand coming down slightly as she walked aimless around the room.. "In this hour of dread, a lone figure shall she stand, a flickering light against the consuming darkness. With a heart scarred by the fires of despair with a soul unyielding, they will confront the Nameless One. Bound by blood, her destiny intertwined with the darkest of fates, she will face the ultimate trial. The clash of destinies will reverberate through the void, and the outcome will carve the fate of all worlds...."

Stopping and staring straight at Roman, her dull emerald eyes, her mouth gasping for air --- she dropped straight to the ground with a sickening thud, her lightsaber deactivating.

Roman felt a chill creep up his spine as Anneliese's voice twisted into a growl, each word heavy with an ancient power that seemed to resonate through the very stones around them. He knew the moment her eyes glazed over that something sinister was affecting her, her gentle spirit, usually so vibrant, had dimmed into something shadowy and foreboding.

His heart raced as he stepped closer, careful to remain grounded, feeling the electric charge in the air as she unleashed a wave of energy, the debris falling like confetti of crumbling history. He could see the fear and fury warring within her, and a desperate urgency clawed at his chest. This wasn't just a fleeting enchantment -- Anneliese was slipping away, caught in a tide far too strong for him to see.

"Anneliese!" he called out, his voice breaking slightly. Her voice, once gentle, was now a guttural growl, radiating fear and a strength he scarcely recognized. He flinched as her lightsaber illuminated the shadows begining to coil in the corners of the room, dark tendrils that seemed to leer and writhe in response to her prophecy.

His eyes widened in horror as she began to speak with a fervor that sent tremors through the ground, her very essence merging with an ancient power he could barely understand. The words poured from her mouth like a prayer and a curse, telling a story of pain and blood-bound destinies, while every syllable twisted the atmosphere into one of palpable dread. With each word, the air grew heavier, and for just a moment, he felt as if the shadows behind her were reaching out with clawed fingers, inching closer to claim her.

Then she released a force wave, and it reverberated through the room, flickering with raw energy. Roman staggered back as debris rained down, the eerie echoes of her power crashing into him from all sides. Fear gripped his chest, squeezing tighter as he fought against the instinct to flee. All he could do was stare, helpless, as she began to twist further into a rage only hinted at by her dilated, emerald eyes.

When Anneliese dropped to the ground with a sickening thud, the terrifying tapestry of prophecies unraveled before him. The lightsaber's glow dimmed, and he was left with a stark realization: she was trapped in a battle that had transcended time. She gasped for air as if the very weight of the world was anchored to her soul, and he felt something snap inside him.

"Anneliese!" he cried out, rushing to her side, his fingers hesitating before lifting her head. With just the dim illumination now of the glowstick on the ground the shadows around her writhed hungrily, more active now. But they seemed to scuttle further away as he approached, Roman sensing their presence bouncing around in the darkness.

"Stay with me, please!" Roman's voice cracked as he shook her gently. "Anneliese, I need you—come back to me!" He was terrified. What had taken hold of her? The visions she'd glimpsed were real and lethal, and he was utterly powerless to fight against whatever ancient evil loomed in the periphery of their shared fate.

He pressed an ear to her chest, straining to hear the beat of her heart, hoping it still echoed with life, praying that the woman he loved--her spirit--was still anchored within. The shadows encroached, Roman's pulse quickening as he panicked to find a solution.

Without thinking, he gathered her into his arms, the weight of her vulnerability crashing over him like a wave. He could feel her warmth--her life--but the spirit within her was frightened and lost, and he felt as though he was cradling a flickering flame in the tempest surrounding them. He began running, urgency propelling him forward as he carried her away from the malevolence that had seized her spirit.

Roman quickly placed her upon the steps underneath the archway entrance of the elder tree. Placing her head gently down he could hear something call to her in the shadows behind him. Whispers calling out the same words over and over again, it wanted her to hear it, and Roman could only make out a portion of what was said upon the breeze, "Should she falter, darkness shall reign."

Roman took a step closer to the darkness of the elder tree, facing the room they had just escaped. "The Nameless Ones power unchained."

His hand instinctively found the hilt of his lightsaber. "Worlds will crumble, hope will fade."

The voices drew closer and closer, Roman could feel his heart in his gut. "In eternal night, all will be laid."

Taking a step closer to confront the darkness, Roman ignited his emerald blade, briefly revealing multiple shadowy figures. Roman felt an overwhelming force push against him, as if the very air was charged with energy. The shadowy figures screeched, their cries mingling with the gusts of wind that swept through the Elder Tree like a tempest. Roman staggered back, the force of their combined energy sending him tumbling down the stone steps that spiraled away from the archway. He landed heavily, the impact knocking the breath from his lungs, his vision feeling all of the sudden a little fuzzy.

She stood alone in perpetual darkness -- the silhouette of a being clad in night standing before her, death and fear incarnate filling the very air which caused her chest to feel weighted. "So this is the young pup of the Koahal Clan?" His voice clawing out his mouth like venom. "Here I thought I rid every last drop of your lineage... but, alas, it seem's they left the weakest to defend for herself." His laugh sent horror down her spine as she tried to speak -- but nothing came from her lips, her body bound by the dark power that seemed to hold her here. "Tell me pup -- what is your name?"

Tears rolled down her cheeks, she did not want to answer, she did not want to tell him anything... but as she tried her hardest to resist, a low guttural growl, then a bark compelled her to speak. "Anneliese! It's Anneliese!" Her eyes were shocked, horrified as her mouth had opened involuntarily and given the information she so desperately wanted to deny. "Anne..liese..?" Her word uttered by this entity chilled her very blood as another slow, and gruff chuckle came from its form. "Tell me Anneliese... do you know who I am?" Fear gripped her soul -- she could not speak... but it simply continued. "I am... he who was, who has been and who will be. I offer you the opportunity... .... .... become my vessel and carry my will out, or -- simply give in, either way, you shall... be... mine.... " It wasn't a threat, he spoke as a matter of fact... the sureness in its voice so heavily laden, but something, something broke through the dark veil at that very moment... a voice.... .... ... ...

Her eyes widened as her heart fluttered. It was Roman.

"Stay with me, please!" Roman's voice cracked as he shook her gently. "Anneliese, I need you—come back to me!" In her physical body, a small moan would escape her lips.

His voice echoed in the void, her fists clenching as her teeth clamped down hard, a righteous and fervent anger rising deep within her body, her heart beginning to beat heavy in her chest. The dark being roared loudly as she stared it down, her piercing emerald eyes showing a hate, that spanned generations, something awakening deep within her body, a power, she'd never felt before. "I am the daughter of Valera Kaohal. The granddaughter of Artemas and Julia Koahal. I will NOT give in to the LIKES OF YOU !!!!" Her voice booming as a light pulsed from her body, resisting the call of the Nameless -- vying for her will, her teeth clenching harder, her canines protruding over her lip. The being howled angrily. "NO! You CANNOT resist me!" The dark void began to close in on her as she stood there, her body screaming in agony as a scream erupted from her mouth, Anneliese continuing to fight back. "You pathetic pup! As long as you draw breath girl we, are, bound girl!" His words piercing her heart. "... you may keep me at bay for now, but its only a matter of time... for I am eternal. All that have come before you have failed to resist me... as will you, for you are no different...." Anneliese snarled at him, her emerald eyes shining in the vale. "What do you know about my MOTHER?" Spit flying from her mouth, the indignation of this painted on her very face, but the dark shape merely chuckled. "Plenty girl.... Answers all in good time. Be warned girl -- as long as you draw breath, I will stop at nothing..." His words emphasized. "To fulfill my end of the prophecy. You are alone -- you are weak, you are nothing -- even with... him." She let out a scream as she realized whom he was talking about, Roman. "I WILL KILL YOU IF YOU TOUCH HIM!" Another pulse of light coming from her, as his chuckle began to fade. "All... in... good... time..."

The darkness would expand, and then swiftly implode and crash into her.

Laying on the cold stone ground, her limp form which had just lie there, snapped too behind Roman with a gasp that sounded like she'd just risen from the depths of the ocean -- her emerald eyes filled with horror as she attempted to cope with the disorientation of what had just transpired, her senses overloaded. As Roman stood, his blade extended, the Shadows which whipped around and stretched out -- threatening to consume all... seemingly vanished, as if her being conscience had shut the flood gates that had crashed open.

Staring up at Roman, her face slightly pale, she began to bawl, her body shaking with fear as the sobs escaped her lips, the cry pouring out her mouth gut wrenching as she held her stomach, a scream coming from her lips as she rolled onto her side and curled into a fetal position.

As the pain coursed through him, Roman gritted his teeth and forced himself upright, shaking off the disorientation. Each breath was a conscious effort, his focus drawn not to the throbbing ache in his ribs but to Anneliese. She lay on the cold stone, her body frail against the backdrop of encroaching shadows, overwhelmed by the aftermath of their escape.

His heart sank further as he watched her react, the horror etched across her pale features, her emerald eyes wide with terror. Roman instinctively stepped closer, the darkness now dissipating like smoke in the wind. Standing tall, he ignited his emerald blade once more, its glow illuminating the area and casting long shadows that flickered against the stone walls of the elder tree. The shadowy figures that had once haunted him were gone, but the weight of their presence still lingered in the air.

"Anneliese." he called softly, dropping down beside her. He reached out a hand, gently brushing her hair away from her face, his touch reassuring as he anchored her back to the present. "You're safe. I'm here." Her sobs were heart-wrenching, a mixture of fear and confusion, and they pierced through him with a visceral force. Roman's chest tightened, and he knew he had to fight through the anxiety curling in his own gut.

"Breathe with me." he urged, drawing in a deep breath, hoping she could hear the calm strength in his voice. "In… and out." He demonstrated, allowing the rhythm of his breaths to envelop her, the warmth of his presence a steady anchor against the onslaught of her despair.

Slowly, he pulled her into his lap, feeling her small frame quiver against him, yet cradling her gently as if she were made of glass. "That's it." Roman murmured, feeling her heartbeat synchronize with his own as the storm of emotions began to settle. "I've got you. Just focus on the sound of my voice."

Even as he comforted her, a primal instinct tugged at his senses, the unseen eyes watching from the depths of the city and the darkness within the Elder Tree still felt present. He held his lightsaber firmly in his other hand, every fiber of his being alert for any resurgence of darkness that could emerge from the shadows. Despite the absence of an immediate threat, the air hummed with foreboding, a sense that something powerful lurked in the corners of the world around them.

As Anneliese's breaths deepened, Roman felt her fear begin to ebb, replaced gradually by the warmth of shared resilience. He brushed her hair back again, whispering encouragements, his thoughts divided between drawing her back to safety and preparing for whatever might still await them. "It's all going to be okay." he assured her, holding her tightly.

Objective: Escape II Regroup

As Roman leaned in to give a gentle, but reassuring touch, her body instinctively jerked back in fear, her gut wrenching wails now subsiding to gentle sobs. Yet again, not being swayed by her initial rejection, he gave her another calming touch -- reminding her to breath, bringing to mind life's most basic function. Slowly inhaling, shakily and unsure, she exhaled, bits of spit coming out as she inhaled yet again -- trying to bring to focus the light that was her breath into the focus of her mind. Her head buzzed violently, like coming down off the high of an illicit substance, it was hard to concentrate and focus on what had actually transpired -- it felt like a dream, no, it felt like it had been a waking nightmare, but she knew, in her core -- it was real, this wasn't just going to go away.

Sitting up and as Roman comforted her -- she did as he said, she focused on his voice, the voice that broke the veil and gave her the courage and strength she'd needed to resist and fight back against the Nameless Form that had spoken to her -- chills coming up her spine as she recalled the shapeless form, the sound of his voice, like a beast crawling out from a cave. Looking to Roman, the fatigue written all over her body, she spoke, her voice hoarse. "It's not ok Roman -- its far from ok. I-I don't even know what -- who... how?" She was exhausted, and such, her mind was not processing the way that it should, and he would see this. Giving into the security of Roman's embrace, Annelise began to close her eyes... but, as such with life, the threat that had lingered in the far edge of their senses would soon take form as well.

Beep Beep --- Beep Beep --- Beep Beep --- Beep Beep... ... ... ...

Their communicators would be blaring, auto answering, Nebula's voice would chime in. "Padawans Vossari and Kaohal, I am rebooting and working to be en route for emergency pick up. I have been trying to reach you over comm's but my systems experienced a malfunction due to a disturbance in the area. Please be adivsed, I have been able to recalibrate my sensors and have detected approximately ten native life-forms in your current area, proceed with extreme caution." With that the comm's would disconnect and the low guttural growl of wolves would begin to descend upon them.

Taking up the front of the formation stood a large and menacing black wolf, his hackles raised and its teeth barred as several other wolves in the pack began to diverge on Roman and Anneliese, surrounding the two at the entrance of the Elder Tree. As the pack of large wolves descended upon them, Anneliese simply looked over towards the middle one, something telling her it was the leader of this pack, she pulled at Roman's shirt wearily and motioned for him to stand them up. Speaking softly, she spoke, her voice hoarse from the crying and ordeal she'd suffered. "Don't stare them directly in the eye -- they will take it as a challenge." Holding her hands up, she gazed around them and reach out, her senses dulled from fatigue. "We are not here to cause harm.... We come in ---" But as she spoke, the Black Wolf would growl, its sound violently tearing at the air as it reverberated and echoed around the city, a voice booming in their minds. << Lies! Off-worlders! We have tracked you since the moment you landed -- we know of and have sensed the evil you awoke. What have you done!?!?!? >>

Anneliese stood, bringing her hands up, trying to help diffuse the situation and de-escalate things -- her body was exhausted, there was no way she would be of any use to Roman for long if they had to engage in a fight, and as strong and capable as Roman was, she knew in a ten against one scenario... it was a no win no matter how you saw it. "Look -- we just want to leave. We came here because I am from -- ..." The Black Wolf wasn't having it, his snout letting another snarl loose as it took an aggressive step it, the sound of its jaws shutting down. << Lies -- all lies. It doesn't matter why you came... you meddled with things you shouldn't have. You came to a graveyard and woke the devil... now we must do what we must. >> Looking angrily at the leader of the pack, she took a step forward, a gust of energy coming over her body as the idea of them even coming near Roman offended her.... her temper extremely noticeable. "I won't let you come another step closer... I mean it, I'm warning you."

With that , the black wolf chuffed, taking another few steps forward, the rest of the wolf pack now almost right upon them. Feeling the anger rise in her body... she could feel her core temperature exploding, her breathing becoming heavy as the emotional day gave loss of control to her restraint when phasing. Exploding forth from her clothing, her rucksack, and effects clattered to the ground as she now stood at full height in her natural form -- her teeth barred violently at the pack leader, a vicious growl that rend the air between them. << " I am Anneliese Kaohal -- native daughter to this land -- last of my lineage. Come closer and I'll RIP your throat out -- I will not let you harm my MATE. >> The words rolling off her tongue in her native language as a serious of snarls, but telepathically heard to all -- as the hairs on her back stood up... the vibrations from her guttural growl rumbling the very area around them -- several wolves in the pack whining, their ears folding down as they bowed their heads down out of subservient attitude.

Taking yet another step forwards -- she let another vicious snarl come forth, her jaws barred at the black wolf as the two stared each other down... his ear's twitching as Anneliese willed the newfound authority within herself onto him -- compelling him to obey the orders of a new Alpha... Anneliese. Bowing his head down low, her large paw came up, then crashing down onto this neck as she snarled one last time, his voice telepathically coming into mind. << My... apologies... Alpha... daughter of Kaohal. I should have known, only you -- would be able to awaken such an evil, please -- forgive us, we were only doing our job. No harm shall come to you native daughter, or your imprinted... you have my word. >>

With that, Anneliese merely let out a chuff, whipping her head around as she sluggishly walked over towards Roman, her four legs shaking violently -- the fatigue screaming in her body. Looking at Roman -- she wanted to speak -- but her vision began to blur -- feeling the familiar shift of her bones and body, she now stood in front of Roman, bare -- nothing hidden in her involuntary and immodest form, as the ground seemed to come up out of no where... passed stone cold out from sheer exhaustion... .... he was safe, and that's all that mattered and all she could think as she lost consciousness.

Roman stood frozen for a heartbeat as Anneliese's form pulsed with energy, shifting from that of a weary young woman to the powerful and majestic figure of a wolf. He had witnessed this transformation before but never like this -- never with such visceral intensity. As she stood defiant before the pack leader, her primal growls resonating in the air with an authority he had never seen, Roman felt a surge of both pride and fear.

He could hear the pack's collective thoughts shifting, confusion and submission swirling alongside the tension in the air. When Anneliese let go of that final, ferocious snarl, demanding subservience from the black wolf, Roman felt a rush of relief wash over him. She was strong -- more than he had ever understood or maybe could ever comprehend. But when she collapsed to the ground, panting heavily, the pride stepped closer.

"Anneliese!" he called out, rushing forward as the pack instinctively parted to let him closer to her. The black wolf bowed its head low, acknowledging Anneliese's strength, a clear sign of respect. Roman felt a weight shift in his chest, the affinity the wolves felt toward her ebbing into him as well. But that concern only intensified when he knelt beside her, seeing the weariness etched into her features.

In the fading light of day, he noticed the large mark burned into her back - a large yet ominous crescent moon burned deep into her skin. It hadn't been there before, he was sure of it. Gently, he placed a hand on her shoulder, whispering soothing promises that everything would be alright. "I've got you." he assured her, though he wasn't sure how truthful that was in the moment.

With great care, Roman searched through his backpack, recalling the habit he'd developed ever since their first encounter with her transformation. He retrieved the blanket he always kept at the bottom, unfurling it. As he draped it over her, a shiver ran through his skin, a visceral acknowledgment of their bond. The blanket cocooned her form, emphasizing her fragility despite her newfound power.

"Let's get you back to the ship." Roman murmured, lifting her gently into his arms. She was lighter than she looked, but the intensity of his worry weighed him down as he navigated through the intimidating pack, large wolves that regarded him with curious, almost respectful eyes. He felt their breaths, warm and heavy, as they watched him carry their new Alpha. He kept his gaze averted, knowing that locking eyes with them would be a challenge he couldn't afford to take on.

"She needs to rest." he muttered under his breath, stepping past wolves that were barely a breath away from him. He felt every ounce of their energy--their power, their strength--yet, they allowed him through, as if recognizing his role as her mate.

Once onboard the ship, he placed her gently on her bed, the soft material enveloping her as she lay there, resting. The tension in his shoulders eased as he pulled a clean set of clothes from the table and set them lovingly beside her. Anneliese needed comfort, warmth.

"NEBULA." he called, urgency in his tone. The ship's AI chimed to life in a soft, soothing voice. "Yes, Mr. Vossari?"

"Keep an eye on her vitals and analyze that burn mark."
he ordered, trying to keep his voice steady. "I don't know what it means, it can't be good."

"Understood. Monitoring her vitals now. Burn mark analysis in progress."
There was a slight pause before NEBULA's voice resumed. "She is stable but exhausted. Recommendations: hydration, rest, and nutrition."

Roman nodded, even though he knew NEBULA couldn't see him. He felt an ache in his chest as he glanced back at Anneliese, now peacefully sleeping -- her hair spilled across the pillow. He wouldn't let her down. He wouldn't fail her.

As darkness enveloped the world outside, Roman settled into a chair just outside her room, determined to guard her rest. He turned his attention to the archives of the ship, pouring over old texts, legends, prophecies -- the threads of her ancestry. The weight of her lineage pressed down on him, and with each revelation and every piece of lore, he gathered strength for the fights ahead. The legacy she carried was more significant than he had realized, and he was no longer just a spectator in their intertwined fates.

Through the night, with the hum of the ship as a lullaby and the presence of her new pack lingering in his mind, he researched tirelessly, hoping to find answers for the challenges they would face together -- hoping to understand the powers that had awakened within her, the calling that brought them to this doorstep of destiny. As he faded into a sleep within the chair, he could feel the presence of the pack outside the hull of the ship. Pacing back and forth, occasional howling, to let both of them know, they were there.

Objective: Mission Overview II Speak with the Wolf Pack

Anneliese slept in a dreamless state. Nebula working all through the night without tiring, monitoring her life-signs and utilizing the ships "Auto-Doc" to push IV fluids into her body. Soft moans and groans would slip from her lips as her exhausted form lay on the bed. Despite the lack of dreams -- in the darkness, she could feel a hunger, a restless evil at the edge of her unconsciousness. Outside, the Wolf Pack diligently prowled around the ship, howl's breaking the silence of the night as the kept watch over their newly returned native sister, the pup that showed the strength of her bloodline -- assuming the role of a female Alpha.

Daylight would break onto the ship, the soft humm of the idle engine and air systems onboard. Opening her eyes slightly, a groan escaped her lips as she began to cope with the disorientation that her to want to heave the contents of her stomach up. Sitting up, realizing now she was adorned in a blanket, her heart skipped as she stared across the way at Roman, who was sound asleep in the chair, clearly having pulled a long night deep in research and protecting her. Her hair, which was unruly, fell messily down on to her shoulders, doing her best to keep the blanket tight against her chest, her eyes came to the computer screens -- a eerie crescent moon shaped symbol on the screen -- Nebula clearly searching for any relevance... but she noted, it was on skin?

Her jaw dropped as she felt the burning ache on her lower back, the skin fresh to the touch... as if something, had been etched onto it.

Her head reeling and spinning at the connection she turned her legs over the side of the bed and sat up, dizziness overtaking her senses momentarily as she simply tried to adjust, and took her time -- using her free hand to remove the IV line that was in her opposite arm, a slight hiss as she pulled the tape loose and pulled the needle out. Standing up slowly, only the blanket hugging to her delicate form, she walked over to Roman, and sat down on his lap -- not really caring at this point in the... semantics of how she was dressed -- she needed his embrace, and she needed him. "Roman -- Roman... wake up." Her soft hand coming to his cheek as she leaned in, and nuzzled her nose to his, kissing him lightly on the forehead.

Her color was better, but exhaustion hung on her form. The entity who invaded her very body, putting her in a fight for her life had taken its toll... and then, furthering to push herself, she had phased on the fly and mentally pushed her will onto the pack, compelling them to submit to her, to ensure Roman's safety. Adjusting her blanket, she stared at him -- her emerald eyes lock onto his. "I heard you call to me... you gave me strength, strength to fight him." "Him"... he wouldn't have known yet about the fight that had ensued in her mind, in the void, but as her hand came back up, a smile creeping on her face, tears formed into the corners of her eyes. "I love you Roman..." A sob escaped her lips. "I love you so much -- and I am ---" Her lip quivering as she spoke, her hand coming up as the tears rolled down her cheeks. "I am so sorry I brought you into this... this, is all my fault." Her voice shook as she continued to speak. "He knows who you are -- who you are to me. If anything happened to you Roman... I-I, I can't imagine my life without -- I...." She leaned into him as she sobbed silently, the past day's events weighing heavy on her.

Roman stirred awake, the warmth of Anneliese's presence breaking through the haze of sleep. His eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the muted light in the ship's cabin. Disoriented at first, he blinked in the dimness, taking in the sight before him. She was there, sitting on his lap, a delicate image cradled by a blanket that barely contained her. It stirred something within him, the way the fabric hugged her form made his heart race, but it was the look in her emerald eyes--both vulnerable and fierce--that truly captured him.

"Anneliese." he murmured, his voice soft with sleep. He reached up to cup her cheek, brushing away the tears that stained her rosy skin. She was beautiful, even in her exhaustion, and the shadows of her recent ordeal weighed heavily on her.

As she sank into him, the warmth of her body pressed against his, he could feel the tremors of fear still clinging to her. Her sobs tugged at his heartstrings, twisting the knots of worry and protectiveness within him. "Hey, hey…" Roman cooed softly, pulling her closer, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tightly, as if he could shield her from whatever dark terror lurked in the recesses of her mind.

"I love you, Anneliese. I love you so much." The sincerity in his voice resonated in the quiet space, vibrating with shared emotion. He brushed his lips against her forehead, again and again, trying to infuse her with warmth and reassurance. "You're not alone in this. We're in this together."

The mention of "him" stirred something menacing within him--a shadow he had sensed flickering at the edges of their reality of the Elder Tree. He swallowed hard. "I don't care if he knows who I am. I will face him with you, whatever it takes." His grip on her tightened, a silent promise echoing between them. "You went through hell, but look at you--you fought him. You're stronger than me in ways I can't comprehend. I'm not going to let anyone, especially not that...thing, take you from me."

Roman leaned back slightly, searching her gaze again while brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Don't apologize for any of this. We're in this fight together. I'm not going anywhere, I promise. We'll figure it all out."

With that, Roman pressed his lips to hers, feeling an electric connection that grounded them amidst the chaos. The warmth of their love enveloped their fears like a shield, and in that moment, he knew they could conquer anything as long as they faced it together.

Objective: Talk to the Wolf Pack

As he held her, and comforted her... he spoke of her strength, of the resolve she had. For a long time, since before she'd met Roman... a fear had lingered in her mind, it made her give pause to everything -- was she loved, accepted, brave, strong enough, skilled, deserving, worthy? Sitting in Roman's lap, this stark realization began to set into her very core. She stood before a great and mighty evil -- this being that represented darkness, fear, and utter evil -- she withstood the temptation, the call... she had risen up and proved to the pack... to protect what was hers -- that she was strong. All this time, her mind had tried to command itself -- and at every step, she was met with resistance... but no longer. Her mind had commanded her body, and a sleeper had awoken. No longer did she hear the call of the mind-killer... and now that the fear that had lingered for as long as she could remember had passed... only she remained.

Roman professed his love once again to her, as he gave unwavering support... no matter what, letting her know -- he would go the distance with her. His lips met crashing into hers, her breathing became uneven, the effect he seemed to always have on her — enough was never just enough. Re-adjusting her blanket, to keep her modesty, she returned the kiss with the same fervor-- a fire sparking in her chest... a warmth in her body that she wanted to share with him, her slightly bare back shown, the dark and ominous Mark of the Nameless shown in the dim light. Her hands ran gently through his hair, grabbing into small tufts of it. << I realize now... the depths my love runs for you. In my culture, we love only once Roman -- I will never love anybody, the way I love you. I am yours -- now, and forever. I would rather face the greatest evil, or die by your side against an army than face a life without you. >> Her lips broke free as she nuzzled her nose once again against his, her vibrant emerald green eyes sparkling as she stared at him, her native tongue rolling off her lips as she spoke the words aloud, a giggle in her voice as her nose wrinkled just slightly. ""Vashar'kova, Isha'vashar ( "I love you and only you, my one true love" )"

Standing up, fighting the primal urge to forsake her senses and allow the blanket to fall -- and let nothing be kept from him she walked towards the back of the ship and grabbed her clothing-- her eyes stealing glances from him. Skillfully dressing herself while holding the blanket, her mind, still reeling from the hormone driven buzz… couldn’t help but wonder about the future… about them. There would come a day... she hoped, that the electricity that was between them, the fire that ignited every-time they touched would be quenched... that not only would it be quenched... but that it would burn into a wildfire, an all consuming inferno — he was the only one that she would ever dream to share in such an intimacy.

Folding the blanket up, Anneliese gave it to him. “Something borrowed, and something new.” She pointed towards her back -- referring to her new marking, her clothing now rubbing against the sensitive skin. “I suppose we should go outside and have a proper conversation this time with our friends… don’t you think?”

Turning around she spoke aloud, having Nebula lower the ramp. As the two would exit the ship, the Wolf Pack would immediately greet them outside. << May the day bode well -- Anneliese -- our apologies for not knowing one of our kind prior to engaging. Your scent, is not like ours... yet you carry an important bloodline. Tell me -- is this your first time here, the first time to feel the soil beneath your feet? >> She simply nodded as she stared directly at the black wolf, but rather than speaking telepathically, she spoke aloud, as to help Roman follow along better. "I forgive you -- all this has come to a shock to both of us. This is the first time I've ever got to visit my home-planet... rest assured, we had no knowledge of what would transpire... Roman and I are, at a bit of a loss to be honest."

The air outside was tense, the subject finally being approached about what they had stumbled into. << We do not speak his name... but we have known for several decades that the darkness was once again amassing... and we've known for several hundred years about the prophecy. You and your... imprinted have much to learn. My pack went back into the Council Building, found journals, pictures related to the Koahal Clan. I once even knew Aretmas... he was a wise Gamma, I swear by him I will help you however I can. >> Simply bowing his head, a few in the group dropped off a few heavy satchels of books, papers and pictures as they walked off towards the distance. "Wait! Why don't you phase and talk to us?" The black wolf stopped. << Order me, and I will have no choice but to obey... but we choose not to show our vulnerability to outsiders. One day, if you return, we can take you to our Den... but until then, we shall keep watch over you. >>

Looking to Roman, and then to the ground -- apparently she would have even more reading to do at some point. Looking back towards the Wolf Pack, she spoke aloud once more. "There not a very talkative sort are they?... or do you think it has to do with the whole... becoming an Alpha thing? Totally weird by the way... not that you asked, but -- definitely did not know I was able to do that... pretty positive I unlocked some new trait through all this... 'getting in touch with my roots' business." Her hands coming up and forming hyphen symbols in the air as she spoke.

As Anneliese moved gracefully across the dimly lit room, Roman's sapphire eyes followed her every movement, captivated by her presence. The way she held herself, both vulnerable and powerful, ignited something deep within him--an ache mingled with a fierce pride. When she called him Vashar'kova, the words wrapped around his heart like a warm embrace, solidifying their bond in a way he hadn't thought possible. It meant everything to him.

Each glance she cast back at him seemed to pull him forward, drawing him into her orbit. The low light danced off her skin, illuminating the contours of her body, and he found himself momentarily lost in a whirlwind of desire and admiration. It was thrilling, intoxicating, this feeling of being so utterly drawn to another person. She was his anchor, yet she possessed a wildness that sent shivers of exhilaration through him.

He sat like a statue in the embrace of the chair, suppressing the primal urge to reach for her. The subtle arch of her back, the delicate way her hair fell over her shoulders, the playful glances she shot his way--all of it ignited a fire within him that he struggled to contain. As she dressed skillfully, the tension in the air felt electric. In that moment, he couldn't help but wonder how she could make even something as mundane as putting on clothes feel like a thrilling revelation.

When she folded the blanket and handed it to him, Roman couldn't help but smirk at her playful gesture, feeling as though he was accepting not just cloth but a piece of her--the intimacy of their shared moment hanging in the air like a lingering melody. "Something borrowed, something new?" he mused, voice low and teasing, as he accepted the blanket. His mind drifted, imagining every moment they'd shared since their fateful meeting--each glance, each brush of their fingers, every word whispered between them like a sacred pledge.

---

As they emerged from the ship, the world outside seemed to shift, reality colliding with the intensity of their affection. The Wolf Pack stood before them, their presence formidable yet oddly comforting. Roman felt Anneliese beside him--her strength radiating. He listened intently as she spoke, admiring her bravery. The black wolf's solemn words weighed heavy in the air, a truth cloaked in shadows, but Roman remained steadfast beside Anneliese, aware that together they could face whatever darkness loomed on the horizon.

When the discussion turned to her roots, his heart swelled with pride again. She was discovering herself, unearthing traits that had lingered dormant, and he was here for every step of the journey. They had come in search of answers, instead they found more questions. But Roman resolved that they were on the right path, that they had taken a necessary step in what she truly sought.

Taking a breath, he stepped closer to her, keeping his voice low yet steady. "I think they have their reasons." he replied, glancing at the wolves with a newfound respect. "They're guarding something profound."

His hand moved unconsciously to rest on the hilt of his blade, a gesture of reassurance. "Whatever this darkness is, whatever the sacrifices we might face, we'll face it together. With a pack it seems."

Roman's eyes softened as he looked back at the distant figures of the departing wolves. "And when the time comes, we'll be sure to uncover whatever this prophecy holds. For now, let's get through this one step at a time, starting with those satchels. There's a world of knowledge waiting for us." He offered her a smile, determined to convey both hope and solidarity.

As he caught her gaze, a mischievous grin spread across his face, a playful glint in his eyes. He drew her closer, their bodies almost melding together, his fingers tracing the delicate curve of her neck. "Alpha huh?" he teased, his voice dripping with charm, the air thick with unspoken words. The moment crackled between them, electric and charged, each heartbeat echoing the uncharted territory they were about to navigate. He knew the weight of the moment, but he couldn't resist the urge to lighten it with his playful banter, drawing her away from any fears or uncertainty.

Objective: Unlock the Past
Alpha — the word hanging in the air as she knelt down and took a small handful of dirt, slowly releasing it as the wind grabbed it, wisping it away into the lush landscape. She’d never wanted to lead, but rather support and protect those she loved — but as she sat knelt staring at the Elder Tree, something in her knew — she saw her life begin to unfold before her eyes, words from the prophecy running theough her mind…

“A name forgotten, a fate concealed,

In blood and fire, truth revealed.”

Her destiny it seemed had been woven on a tapestry and portrayed long before she’d even been a thought in her mother’s eyes or womb. How was she supposed to cope with something like that? What would her Master say once she found out what transpired during this trip? However, as questions began to fill her mind, her emerald eyes glazing over in deep thought, her hand tightened as she peered once again on the tree — the sound of his unnerving voice filling her mind…

// "I am... he who was, who has been and who will be. I offer you the opportunity... .... .... become my vessel and carry my will out, or -- simply give in, either way, you shall... be... mine.... " //

The tone, was so sure — as if… he had won others from her over to him… if so, what did this mean? Who?… and, a chill slowly creeping up her spine, interrupted by the burning pain on her lower back, the new mark, touch of the Nameless One… what was so special about her specifically? All knowledge of this dreadful experience etched into her very soul, she spoke softly a portion of the prophecy aloud as if trying to solve it.

“In this hour of dread, a lone figure shall she stand, a flickering light against the consuming darkness. With a heart scarred by the fires of despair with a soul unyielding, she will confront the Nameless One.”

Her eyes widened slightly as revelation dawned upon her — he didn’t just want her to be his vessel… he was specifically afraid of her, the child of prophecy, the one who would break the curse and free the clan from this iniquity. Turning her head slightly, she couldn’t fathom how though… was there a timeline on this ordeal? Could be surface at anytime? Questions, and more questions as her hand came up to rub her temples, fatigue clearly sitting back in as she raised up off her knee and dusted herself off gently.

Looking over at Roman, then up towards the setting sun, she spoke. “Hey Roman… I think you owe me a picnic. Instead of a picnic… I was thinking, a romantic dinner of ration packs… a fire… stargazing… a singular cot…” Her heart thrumming hard in her chest, her voice towards the end a mere whisper as she stared over at him, her eyes lit with a need — a longing to be close, the implication of her words heavily tangible to understand. Having brushed face to face with death — she knew she wanted to start living life to the fullest, to stop living in fear —and no one made her feel this way more, no one ever would, than him. Within her as she stared at him in the palpable silence, a fire unbridled burned in her, catching to all her senses… her eyes staring at him, through him unlike no one else’s ever would. To Anneliese, what Roman and her had was like the great romances she’d read in the archives… love that was faded with trials and tribulations… but nothing weakened it, no, it grew stronger, more concrete, it honed it.

It had been a tumultuous day, one that left him grappling with emotions that swirled within him like a tempest. He'd seen the flicker of fear in Anneliese's expression when the words of the prophecy echoed, their weight heavy with inevitability. She had never asked for this burden—nor did she desire the mantle of leadership that now loomed over her. A protector at heart, she always sought to nurture and guard those she loved, yet fate had thrust her into the glare of an ominous destiny that appeared to leave no room for choice.

He remembered how their journey had begun, an innocent quest for knowledge that spiraled into chaos and revelation. The mission had felt daunting even then, but now, the stakes felt stratospheric. Roman could see the mark on her lower back--a terrible symbol of the Nameless One's lingering touch--an indelible reminder of the villain's intent. His heart sank as the weight of responsibility settled heavily upon him.

An inner voice echoed his concerns. "You could have protected her better…" But the bitter truth smothered any inclination to mend his feelings of guilt and inadequacy. They had all walked into the darkness willingly. Each choice had led them here, to this pivotal moment where destinies intertwined, where a flicker of hope dared to illuminate the encroaching shadow.

Roman glanced over at Anneliese, his chest tightening at the sincerity in her eyes. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting hues of orange and violet that mirrored the warmth spreading within him. Her words hung in the air, sharpened by the weight of their recent ordeal. "A romantic dinner of ration packs? With me?" he said playfully, raising an eyebrow as he turned to face her more fully. "I'll see what I can do." Roman would do all he could to distract her from the events of the day.

He moved closer to the ship's hull, where a few dry twigs and fallen branches lay scattered, remnants of the forest just beyond their temporary shelter. "I hear that the secret ingredient for these bland rations is starry skies. We'll sprinkle in a little romance, and who knows? It just might be the best meal we've ever had." a hint of mischief in his voice. With determination, he knelt down, focusing on the small pile of kindling he'd managed to gather. It took a few tries, but soon enough, a flicker of flame sparked to life and danced among the twigs. A small victory that brought a smile to his face.

Once the fire was crackling steadily, Roman pulled out the cot and set it up close enough for both warmth and intimacy. There was something about the simplicity of the moment that felt monumental. "Now, our five-star meal." He gestured playfully as he unwrapped the ration packs, pretending to be a master chef as he combined different elements into makeshift plates.

As Roman finished setting out plates, he stepped back and admired her for a moment, illuminated by the warm glow of the firelight. He knelt beside her and, in a gentle but confident gesture, took her hand and helped her to her feet. "Now, I believe you owe me that stargazing date." he said, a teasing smirk on his face as he carried her over to the cot, their closeness expanding the space between them into something electric.

As the stars began to twinkle overhead in the deep indigo sky, Roman placed down the makeshift dinner between them and leaned back, one arm stretched behind him, propping himself up, the other resting casually beside her. "Here we are," he said, gesturing upwards with a grin. "Our very own stargazing date, with a view that rivals any restaurant on any planet."

In the soft light of the fire, with her radiant smile illuminating the darkness, Roman found the moment transcending the ordinary. Here, surrounded by the remnants of their tumultuous journey, he felt a moment he wouldn't soon forget.

Objective: Enjoy the Date
Anneliese sat next to the now crackling fire as the blanket of night descended upon the wilderness landscape. Shadows danced all around them which only caused her unease, her hand coming up with a small nibble of the food that Roman had mixed up and given her -- her appetite not really all there yet from the series of events that had transpired. All around them, she could hear the distant howls of the Wolf Pack... the Beta was true to his word, he was keeping tabs on them... and keeping a close watch, which in honestly... gave comfort to her and made her feel like she actually belonged on this planet.

Smiling softly at Roman as he spoke about the date that they had not been able to keep, she scooted closer to him, leaving the small plate of food where it lie. Allowing her hand to slowly creep next to his, entwining her fingers and locking them in, she stared up towards the sky. The vast expanse that laid before them -- made it appear as if the very gates of heaven had opened specifically for the two of them. New constellations and bright stars of planets near-by in neighboring systems shone brightly. Tracing lines together and trying to figure out the constellations, she smirked as her voice broke the silence, the fire popping. "Look -- that once looks like the Elder Tree... doesn't it?"

Shifting her hand slightly, her fingertips began to trace the top of his hand, the touch electric as her heart began to flutter… there became an innocent air of silence between them as Anneliese mustered up the courage to speak what had been on her heart. "Roman?" She spoke... the silence hanging between the two. "There's something... important, i want to give to you... but its, something that I can't just give without... consent from both parties." Her heart pounded as she looked over towards Roman, the light of the fire casting its glow upon her -- the soft features of her body looking etheral now before him. These last few days, something changing and shifting in her, now sitting before Roman a young woman, no longer a girl. “This important gift is also something that I can only give out one time… and I want you to have it…. and only you.“ Her words were clear — her intentions crystal, and her body language leading up to this event had been evident — as she spoke, their shadows cast, hers would lean over, blending and meshing with his. A fire had burned within, a warmth, and she wanted to share it with him.

The fire would continue its dance as the night came to its climax and ultimate end. A bonding made, a night of firsts shared and a gift given to one another that could never be shared again.

As the sun crested the horizon, Annie was already up, curled up next to Roman, her hand gently trancing the lines of his jaw as he slept. She felt different after the nights exchange, the love she had felt for him now — changed, refined, deepened… bonded. Smiling, knowing that what she’d given to him — next to her love, was the only other thing that no one would ever receive again. Turning over, she stared up towards the sky, her hands coming down to the mid of her stomach, butterflies forming and dancing in the pit of it — so much — so much had happened in such a short time… but it was this moment that brought her joy within the turmoil.

Roman had been lost in thought as he gazed into the flickering flames. The crackling fire seemed to echo the tension that had built up between them, igniting feelings they both had long suppressed.

As she scooted closer, entwining her fingers with his, a warmth surged through him, dispelling the nervousness that clouded his heart. He chuckled softly at her observation of the stars, biting back a grin as she pointed out the constellation that resembled the Elder Tree. Her playful spirit was intoxicating, and he cherished these moments.

But when her voice broke the tender silence of the night, a shift occurred. Roman's breath caught as she spoke of an important gift, one that required mutual consent. He turned to meet her gaze, the firelight illuminating her features, casting a halo around her. In that moment, he saw more than just a young woman before him, he saw a partner, a soul woven intricately with his own. His heart raced at her words, realizing just how significant this moment was. Their shadows mingled, creating a fusion of unity, and as Anneliese spoke, he felt a pull he couldn't ignore any longer.

As they drew closer, the world around them faded into a soft hum. The distant howls of the Wolf Pack became a gentle reminder of her bond to the wilderness, while the stars above bore witness to their unfolding connection. In that clarity, he understood that this was not just an exchange of gifts, it was a deepening of their shared journey, a promise that extended beyond that night.

The flames continued to crackle, and doubt melted away as the two of them forged a connection that felt as ancient as the constellations they traced. This was their moment, their own constellation painted across the stars of the galaxy, and Roman felt a profound sense of peace settle over him.

When dawn broke, its soft light illuminating the space between them, Roman remained blissfully unaware of the transformations happening around him. He stirred, feeling Anneliese's delicate touch on his jaw. As he opened his eyes, the world glimmered anew, bursting with colors he had never noticed before. Something in her had changed, and in her presence, he felt renewed. This exchange, this bond they had created under the stars, infused him with an unshakeable happiness.

"Anneliese." he murmured through a sleepy smile, his heart warm with the weight of their love. "Last night… it was everything." He reached up to touch her hand, savoring the connection they had forged. Somewhere in the depths of their intertwined fingers lay an unspoken promise, a whisper of a future yet to unfold together. And as he caught her gaze, he knew they would face whatever came next, side by side--unwavering and bound in ways that transcended mere words.

Objective: Begin the Long Journey Home

Laying next to Roman still, Anneliese tried not to dwell on the bad things that had happened... but rather all of the good and first things. She had gotten to step foot on native soil... it smelt of grassland, fauna... and native flowers. She got to phase and know what it felt like to stand before a pack of her own -- to stand up, and lead. She got to share the love that had been burning within her... with the one she loved, and withhold nothing. Despite the shadow that loomed over her -- and the future unknown, let a content sigh escape her lips, turning her head to Roman with a playful, and devilish grin on her face. "Last night... was..." She let out a content and joyful "uhhh" as shifted her body beneath the blanket and ran her hands into his hair. "Amazing... and I fear that this will not just be a one-time event... but a reoccurring one... over, and over..." The her tone softening as she leaned in, kissing him just lightly. "... and over..." Another one as she stared at him, her emerald eyes sparkling.

She was sure of it -- she'd be the end of him, she was definitely a wild one... but man, did he handle her well. A grin painting on her face.

Snaking her arms under the blanket and wrapping them around his waist, she cozied up to him as she just lie there -- enjoying the moment for what it was. "It's our third day here -- you realize that we'll need to be leaving today...." Her tone slightly saddened. "But -- I think, I'm ok with that." Slowly inhaling as she relished in the warmth of his body against hers she continued. "I thought that when we would leave, when I pictured it in my head -- I'd be sad... but now sitting here thinking about it, with all that's transpired... I think I can finally say my goodbyes... whatever this thing is Roman..." She paused. "It's bound by fate -- that's what the prophecy says. Whether I'm here, or on the Prosperity, or on a mission -- sooner or later, somewhere -- I'll have to confront this thing... but it won't be here, not in this graveyard... the past can now rest... for now."

Roman smiled softly at Anneliese, feeling a warmth in his chest as he listened to her words. The way she spoke about their night together sent a thrill through him, igniting a spark of excitement for what lay ahead. The prospect of this being more than a one-time event made his heart race. He couldn't help but revel in the thought of sharing more moments like the one they had just experienced--of exploring all the depths of their connection unencumbered.

He gave her a playful grin as she cozied closer, and he found himself wishing he could linger in this moment forever. But life had its way of moving forward, and they had choices to make. They could not stay here, even if the thought of breaking away from this peace tugged at his heart.

"I suppose you're right," Roman replied, reluctantly releasing their embrace. But as he spoke, a mischievous glint sparked in his blue eyes. "Pack up and go we must, but that does not mean we won't create many more adventures like this one." He couldn't resist giving her a playful pat on her behind, watching her reaction with a raised eyebrow and a cheeky smile, enjoying the way she held him in her gaze.

"Let's gather our things. I think there are more days like these out there waiting for us." His voice was filled with a blend of excitement and mischief. Roman leaned in closer, whispering in her ear, "And more nights like last night to look forward to." The warmth of their connection wrapped around him, and he felt emboldened--ready to face whatever awaited them, as long as she was by his side.
