Crimson Tide (Sith vs. Republic Invasion of Manaan)

Imperial II-class Star Destroyer - Outbreak (Flagship) [Engaging the Straight Edge, all batteries]
Imperial II-class Star Destroyer - Valor [Engaging the Straight Edge, all batteries.

And within moments, over 800 heavy and standard turbolasers were ignited with the furious passion of violence upon the Straight Edge. Octuple barbette turbolaser cannons linked over a secure network between the Outbreak and Valor as they poured in merciless heavy cannon fire on the enemy vessel. Though the enemy vessels were linking their fire too, Davin's intervention had saved the Valor just in time to allow its shields to partially recharge. Now, the Outbreak was nearing trouble. Although his ship's priority with shielding was the superstructure and aligning areas, it wouldn't hold out forever.

"Fighters, break off and engage incoming hostile attack craft. Let none slip past to the Thundering Spire. If they do, then arm point defense weaponry and give 'em a taste of hell." He turned his attention to moving in on the offensive. "Deploy assault gunboats, send minimal coverage and aim for hardpoints and key systems. Double up on warhead launches to penetrate shielded areas."

Meanwhile, the Thundering Spire was tilted downwards to maintain a small barrage of heavy turbolaser fire to pound Sith fortified positions that could be marked by Republic or Fel personnel via signal or high intensity laser. Only ranging and accuracy test shots had been fired and real coordinates were needed to maintain a steady barrage.

Selena Halcyon was a bit surprised by the complete disregard that the Imperial forces had for the Republic ones. It was almost as if they were unaware. Yes, some fired back but it was as if they did not acknowledge how at every alleyways more tanks and soldiers revealed themselves to fire upon the column. It just kept moving forward though, destroying whatever was in front of it. Truly troubling really. It was around this time that Selena decided to take matters into her own hand. As the Polonius traveled by her position she saw an opportunity. That hulking beast was the largest problem to their forces.

She looked around her for resources. "Give me that bandoleer," she commanded one of the soldiers nearby. He quickly complied, giving her the piece of leather with a line of orbs on it.

Quickly she moved into position and shot a cord up at the underbelly of the Polonius already torn up from the Titan droid attack. As she ascended she attached the cord to her belt, and in moved to the bandoleer. Her fingers darted across it priming the explosives. As soon as that was done she pulled out and ignited her lightsaber, almost at the same moment she was close enough to cut into the walker. She then did that a quick move carved a circle into the underside which she threw the bandoleer of thermal detonators into, where they would land around the region behind the front legs.

As soon as she had released them her grapple let go of the walker and she descended to the ground. The explosives would explode before she even hit the ground, but she was off in a run as soon as she landed. The destruction of the walker would be a boon to the Republic cause. She would rejoin the fight once a safe distance away and able to reassess where she was needed.

The City working towards the Northside to locate victims under the fallen buildings

Rianna was moving through downed buildings, and bodies. The endless bodies of people who were caught in the middle. It was heart wrenching. She kept her mind on what she was out here to do, go to the downed building retrieve patience if they could. She hoped that she could get there, do field triage, and either those hurt would continue on or they would have to be medevac back to the encampment.

Problems she saw, getting a shuttle to come to their location, she noticed as she moved in the direction of the injured that she was getting closer to active fighting. She did not fear death, she did not fear battle. She would hate to draw her weapon, that’s what she did not want to do, and yes as a Healer she was a little afraid of that. Fear was a weapon of the Sith and she knew she needed to calm her mind, calm her thoughts pressing them further away.

Rianna looked up, so much going on. Had her teams gotten back, were they safe. She thought to contact them, but knew that some communications could be monitored, it would alert them to her movements, and the location of the healers.

[SIZE=12pt]She began to run, she had to keep moving, rather than be a sitting still[/SIZE]

CITY CENTER

Along with a squadron of Imperial fighters, a shuttle managed to weave in and out of danger before landing on a platform near the city center. Most of the fighters that escorted this shuttle were destroyed. The shuttle opened up and released its cargo. A squadron of the Imperial’s elite poured out with their blasters ready. Several droids came out as they pushed a dozen large barrels on repulsorlifts onto the platform.

The final person to exit the shuttle Darth Apparatus.

The Imperial’s group was immediately met with heavy resistance. Imperial soldiers managed to kill a great deal of the guard, yet several died. Darth Apparatus stood near the back and did not enter the fray - not yet. He only had to watch before the Republic’s guard took a tactical retreat to regroup and eventually push back with greater force.

Once it was clear, Darth Apparatus signaled the droids to push their cargo forward. The Imperial soldiers led the march from the landing platform toward a water station. Darth Apparatus informed Imperial officials that he planned to poison the city’s water system. With the Sith inclined to devastate entire planets, few opposed the idea. Not only that, but Darth Apparatus alluded to an even greater stockpile of this poison should the Sith wish to destroy the ecosystem of Manaan much in the same way that Darth Krayt did with Dac.

Near the city center, @[member="Selena Halcyon"] could easily respond to the direct threat. Other Sith could have also gathered to assist the Darth and his mission in a way to take control of Manaan from the Republic.

CITY CENTER
OBJECTIVE: ERADICATE REPUBLIC DEFENSES

Perhaps the opposing Republic forces would have gotten a more honorable mention had they managed to accomplish anything aside from flounder and die in the face of Imperial superiority. Their unanswered cries for mercy and quarter were cut short by the lethal fighting machines of the Empire, which cut vicious swaths of death through their ranks like a lightsaber through the underbelly of an unsuspecting AT-TT. Their tanks, meager, outdated, and hopelessly outgunned as they were, exploded in horrendous fireballs that mirrored the explosion that suddenly erupted near the back of Polonius' hindlegs.

Wait a minute.

"What just happened?"
"A-an explosion, the hind-legs-"
"Stabilize us."
"I- I can't. Hold on!"

Polonius buckled and fell to its metal knees, squashing several unsuspecting Sith troopers underneath it. More dead Sith to toss in with the already considerable pile this advance had cost them. The pilots were, of course, panicking. Even as Polonius suddenly pitched forward and fell to his knees, jarring the occupants of the AT-TT's bridge, TD-18 maintained his composure. Mostly because he was a droid and there were no panicking protocols installed. Besides, he had somehow managed to arrive to the city center far ahead of his intended schedule. Further, there were more AT-TTs carving similar swaths of destruction. The sudden fall of his left much to be desired, especially considering this little episode still left the majority of his weapons systems intact. Whoever had sabotaged his beloved war machine had never taken a gander at the blueprints to an AT-TT before in their life.

But a bandoleer of thermal detonators to the legs was a bandoleer of thermal detonators to the legs. It didn't matter. Polonius still had his guns, an Ahto's capital building stretched before him. TD-18 had brought the frontlines to the city center and cost the Republic a lot of ground. It was time to push farther.

"We're going down, I can't get us back up!"
"Cease your meltdowns. The guns are still intact." TD-18 affirmed, ever the calm one. "Open fire."

As what would likely be his last act of defiance against the crumbling Republic war machine, all of Polonius' guns flared to life. The heavy laser cannons lighting up the Republic ranks in front of it, destroying another squadron of tanks. The anti-personnel cannons followed suit, cutting down shell-shocked Republic soldiers. Finally, the deafening roar of Polonius' mass-driver cannons cracked the sky, sending explosive ordnance into the hallowed halls of Ahto's capital building. Twin explosions ripped a portion of the gargantuan, palace-esque building apart, enabling entry once the Sith forces pushed close enough.

His final call heeded, Polonius pitched forward and smacked face first into the ground, the AT-TT finally spent.

The Objective for the engagement is simple... seek and destroy nothing fancy just kill them before they kill you.

We will be using all the rules from Valen and the new rules for Suppression

Learning from Valen, I found that the role of Attack Craft were perhaps the most confusing element of them all, not just because there were so many, but because of the RPing issues involved.
How does a player respond without involuntary metagaming? After all, Player A attacks Player B who presumably fires back, but how does that effect damage results? How do you know how many enemy fighters you’ve shot down?

My solution is rather simple. More than anything an attack against heavy flak causes pilots to be disrupted and be forced to evade and pull up, even if they’re not hit. This is what I call Suppression.
A ship can suppress either the hex they’re in or an adjacent hex rather than firing normally that turn. What this does is reduce the damage caused by attack craft depending on how many, and what types of ships are suppressing a hex. With this, you don’t need to ‘call hits’ on an enemy, you can let the other writer decide how many fighters or bombers they lose whilst still fairly determining your damage.

So, TL;DR – ships can reduce the damage fighters and bombers cause by focussing fire on the hex they are in or adjacent.

My suggested amounts are:

Matchup Damage Suppression
Carrier vs Attack Craft 70% -70%
Balanced vs Attack Craft 40% -40%
Heavy Guns vs Attack Craft 10% -10%
Each Subsequent Squadron -10% 10%

So, what this means is that a Heavy Guns ship will only deal 10% damage to an attack craft squadron (one or two fighters suggested) and reduce their damage by a mere 10%.
However a Heavy Fighters/Carrier armed ship will deal 70% damage to a squadron and reduce their damage by 70% also. This is pretty lethal, needless to say.

The bigger the ship the more squadrons it can engage. The following lists how many squadrons a ship can suppress each turn.
Corvette 1
Frigate 2
Cruiser 3
Heavy Cruiser 4
Light SD 5
SD 6
Command Ship 7

The more squadrons engaged and suppressed, the less effective the firepower, with the damage decreasing by 10% for each subsequent target, and the suppression effectiveness increasing (getting worse) also.
Obviously, using a Heavy Guns ship for this is stupid, but a large carrier can drive off and damage multiple enemy squadrons whilst protecting ships from their attacks also.

So, the strategy in this is to choose a fleet with a good mix of ships and to target the enemy’s carrier and balanced ships before sending in your fighters and bombers. If you can do that then they will be slowly picked apart by the fighters and bombers.
Conversely, clever deployment of attack craft to make the enemy’s carriers defend themselves and not allies can open the enemy fleet to severe damage.

Please note these are ONLY SUGGESTIONS, they are not official, mandated, or anything of the sort, they are just a few ideas and tips for the new players here.

  • Fleeting involves a lot more NPCs than normal RPing. Be generous to your opponents and you will receive it in return. Losing is not the end of the world, and in a battle like this, you WILL lose ships!
  • Work together with your allies. Concentration of fire is key.
  • Keep a reserve to bolster the front line if needed.
  • How much damage should your attacks cause? Below are some suggestions you might find helpful.
Shield Damage Hull Damage
Carrier 15% 20%
Balanced 30% 40%
Heavy Guns 45% 60%
Larger Ship Class (Per Class) -10% -15%
Shield Recovery (Each Turn) 10% --
Fighters versus Escorts 5% 10%
Fighters versus Capital Ships 1% 5%
Bombers versus Escorts 40% 60%
Bombers versus Capital Ships 20% 40%
Carrier vs Attack Craft -- 70%
Balanced vs Attack Craft -- 50%
Heavy Guns vs Attack Craft -- 30%
Each Subsequent Squadron -- -10%

Fighters and bombers are listed per squadron. The larger ship class penalty does not apply to them.
There is no bonus for shooting at a smaller target because they are usually harder to hit. You will always do 1% damage to an enemy, though this is quite minimal.
Ship classes are defined by the Anaxes College Standards:
Standard Ship Measurements
Corvettes 100-200m
Frigates 200-400m
Cruisers 400-600m
Heavy Cruisers 600-1000m
Light Star Destroyer 1100-1200m
Star Destroyers 1200m-1700m
Command Ship 1700-2000m
Battlecruisers/Dreadnoughts 2000+m
As before these are suggestions. Follow them or not as you will.

Streets of Ahto City
@[member="Flint Dexen"] @[member="Elani Zambrano"] @[member="Marcus Faust"]

Aronis ran down the streets only getting more lost. He had never been to Ahto before and with the battle going on, stopping to ask directions was not an option. As he ran down the street, he spotted the Sith engaging the Jedi, whom was out numbered two to one. He watched for a moment before realizing the conditions. The Jedi was losing and badly.

Activating his green lightsaber, he charged at the back of Elani. He held his saber above his head, then brought it down hard as he approached, attempting to slice her in half. Thoughts raced through his head of possible senarios, few of them good.

Zrash'toul'frusku

Phoenix Legion's General
En Route to AA Emplacement 3

Zrash took his Imperator's orders to heart and his men continued moving, they stayed indoors on relatively safe paths as they made their way toward the one of the defensive positions in hopes that they had access to the city's heart and the control room. It was a long run from here to there but he and his men made good time despite Zrash's physical condition and conditioning.

It wouldn't long before he and his nine Storm Troopers came into sight of the recently retaken AA rig that was already under attack by Sith forces. Zrash raised his blade and shouted a command. His small group including him made their way to cover and began opening fire on any Sith assets that came into line of sight. His red eyes spotted the Republic Soldiers on the either end of the rig. He prayed they wouldn't mistake his Storm Troopers for Sith. And he made sure he yelled out. "Republic Units! We're friendly! We're Blue!" At the top his lungs before ducking in cover with his small squad of four commandos, two heavies, and three assorted infantry.

The AT-TT collapsed behind her. The soldiers of the Republic took note of the action, they could not do the same thing as quickly but the action was an example. It was also a beacon of hope. Hope that any one man could knock down one of these walkers if they were fortunate. All down the Imperial column soldiers moved out, acting quickly. Commandos moved to destroy walkers. Tanks assisting against other ground forces. Counter attack was in full swing when Selena got the report about Imperial shuttles landing.

The Jedi Master knew that something would need to be done. Eyes on the landing sight showed large boxes being moved. The kind of boxes that raised questions and not the good kind. Her command called for a team of whoever was available and not occupied with either the column or other threats to the city. Once others had come she stepped out to reveal herself to the Darth.

"No one else has to die here this day. Just stand down and leave the planet," she announced to the Imperials.

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
LOCATION: AHTO CITY?
OBJECTIVE: AVENGE "FACELESS" STORM TROOPERS EVERYWHERE

Warren Valik, as it were, was probably still officially considered a traitor to the Sith Empire. He was sure if he discussed things with Kaine Zambrano he'd be forgiving enough, but Valik preferred anonymity when he could manage it. Being connected to the ever blossoming Darth Kyros kept him in the loop, and a combination of Force Dispersers and Sith Alchemy kept his Force Signature and physical appearance changing, allowing him the liberty to move from one assignment to another with a little slicing and identity construction . Today his name was TK-5283, and his job was to be a good stormtrooper and wreak havoc. He was uniquely armed, with various custom orders, mostly old weapons he'd designed personally, along with a unique set of armor reshaped and painted to look like stormtrooper armor.

In short, even without the Force the Alchemist had quite a few gadgets up his sleeve, and he was primed and ready to kill some Jedi, raze some Selkath, perhaps poison Kolto forever. It would be a fun day.

"Sir, we're intercepting some transmissions from a nearby squad. They 're getting massacred by a Jedi Master. Orders?" His communications officer said to him. So the Hunt Begins

"Put me on their channel. We move to assist. Let's kill us a Jedi Witch." He ordered, as they moved out and he got onto the radio channel of @[member="TK-5914 Shank"].

"This is TK-5283. I have a squad moving to your location to assist." He said as he and his five men moved towards @[member="Matsu Ike"]. Whether she'd be his next victim or experiment he did not know, but he was certainly ready for the ride.

As Ronin as his Praetorian fought through the corridors of the city, they soon came to the city square. Looking around, Ronin could see that a lone Jedi was wrecking havoc on the Imperial forces in the area. Seeing that the Jedi needed some assistance, Ronin quickly barked orders to his four Imperial Knight Guards "Move to assist the Jedi, kill all who refuse to surrender." With that the Imperator of the Fel Empire jumped into action and began to cut his way over to the Jedi Master and shouted the following "Jedi! I am Imperator Ronin Fel of the Imperium, we have come to assist you in the defense of Manaan!"

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
@[member="Valik"] @[member="Moira Skaldi"] @[member="TK-5914 Shank"] @[member="Ronin Fel"]

Matsu heard the thunk behind her, whatever had dropped had her mind racing for a moment as the pupils dilated and her neural processes sped up. her one true power or at least the one that she had know as a child, it is hard to explain learning everything when you can't forget and right now while she expanded her focus. Let it take in the area and breathed deeply she listened to several things. The sound in the wind as it picked up, the charge of the man coming at her and static from her own comlink. The ringing that came to her ears from the bolters shots and with an inhale Matsu let the force guide her as the world slowed down. Her arms spinning around low to twist the wind into another tunnel as she went up with it the explosion sound of the bolters shots prematurely detonating (as I recall from Atrisia when hitting or decellerating).

The explosion going into her exposed arms as she went up in a corkscrew into the sky. The sonic shot striking her ankle and she felt it shatter. The sword she had been holding in a reverse grip shattering from the pitch, her recollections of sonic weaponry focusing on if it was programmed properly to the species and its setting. The jedi master letting out a scream of pain while she kept going up higher, she knew how to fly and she and climbed letting the moisture in the air come to her face. The energy coming out to darken the rolling clouds over the city while she climbed higher and higher into the air. Her body shaking when it went high into the clouds then popped out. Matsu shot her arms back and clenched her fists for a moment before just turning and allowing the suns energy to warm her wet cloths. Her hair clinging to her face before looking down.

She was the conductor of the storm and knew its ebbs and flows she could ride its energy while rain started to fall. The electricity in the air getting exited and sparking between the clouds in claps of thunder, her face remained calm and serene while waves of peace came off her. Matsu held her hilt up as she dropped it and looked around. The entirety of Ahto city was under her as she looked at the tattoo's on her arms and hands, the sarashi she wore clinging to her a little before she tucked her knees and arms in clenching her fists until they went white. The thunder clap coming as she went down and let out her hands to bring a lightning strike down into a fighter. The sith fighter for a moment laying suspended in the air for a moment as she touched down on the cockpit. Then gravity came back to reality and Matsu crouched low on it.

She let the sights of Ahto city get low as the snap hiss of the saber was drowned out with the thunder, as the blade bit into the cabin and the pilot couldn't eject. The council and the shadows had declared the sith enemies of humanity and peace. Their deaths if they fought were not something to be held against the jedi. Which was a callous thing, it was wrong but it was also needed. Daella had said it that there could be no real peace while a sith lived and wiping out an ideal was hard but they could force them back. They could force the sith into their holes and corners of the galaxy while maintaining it as it were. All was what was needed and Matsu jumped. She jumped a few meters before the ship impacted the ground and landed on a roof while the explosion behind her sent a fresh wave of heat to wash over her back and wrap around the front.

Her head turned when she heard the voice on the comlink and looked with a raised eyebrow towards where she culd sense a new person. Fel.... Fel, she knew the name but couldn't place it as the sight of the security building came into view in the distance and Matsu finally spoke her head looking up a little the rain tapping on her forehead. "Welcome to the fight, there is a stormtrooper unit and something heavy by the entrance of the security office. I am well away from there now so be careful the weather is changing and looks like a storm might be coming to wash all darksiders away." Her sarashi was wet again but holding the silver blade as it sizzled Matsu looked upon where she might be needed and started limping towards it. The feelign of the grandmaster in the distance and the force as she pushed it into her feet and ankle to heal but also to numb the pain so she could stand on it.

Ahto City: Where one, is the loneliest number
Maybe Steph Zenima really did need to take a shower.

There had been the intention for her to go one on one, sledgehammer in hand against one of them big old AT-TT but unfortunately Selena Halcyon likes to ruin people's dreams for a living. Such is life. Thankfully author's intentions don't count as a stream of character thought so Miss Zenima's feelings were spared.

She just trundled on through the streets, with the occasional spot of violence.

At one point she had been going through her motions so hard that one of the enemy managed to splinter off, sneak up behind her and crack her in the back of the skull. Unfortunately non-player characters can't win, ever. In the history of time itself has an NPC ever emerged victorious? No, your minions here are not winions.

So another average life of no note was ended by animal of a woman who tended to favour the jugular with her jagged meth teeth.

Suddenly, a wild child appeared! A survivor from the destruction of the local children's hospital. If Steph had been a Jedi there would have been a flurry of soothing and protecting, the newly orphaned half-charred child looked up at the member of Havoc Squad, watery eyes seeking comfort, perhaps a hug and reassurance that everything was going to be alright.

“H'MIN, FARS YER PARENTS?”

The child immediately burst into tears.

Equa heard a man's call for help in his head. He had used the Force to contact him and he wasn't a Darksider either... or at least judging by the Force he felt when he heard the voice. "Where are you? What is going on there?" Equa asked from the man. He didn't know who the person was, but he was sure he can help him. He hoped he can help him. He wasn't actually very good at fighting, so he felt a bit unsure. Maybe I could use the Inner Peace stuff to fight against them? He thought. His views had helped him sometimes, so it had to be so this time too.

Onboard a Shuttle towards Republic Command Base

The Shi'ido's body tensed as the shuttle left the safety of the hangar and set off into the vastness of space. The time had flown since the end of the briefing and it had seemed almost dream-like as Rasu followed her friend, Akodya, to the boarding ramp of their craft and waited out the short amount of time in silence. As the thrusters kicked in, the Padawan had to quickly grab a hold of the safety bar placed just above her head, so that she wasn't thrown back as the ship shot forward, accelerating towards the aquatic planet below.

The shuttle's inhabitants remained silent as they approached the battle-worn city where the Republic defenders were based. The sound of Rasu's beating heart muffled out all other distractions, leaving the Shi'ido to her thoughts of what was about to transpire. This would be the Padawan's second time experiencing full-scale war and so far from what she had felt while on Ossus, she would give anything for galactic peace to be found. The loss of life on Ossus drove her desire for the conflict on Mannan to be dealt with swiftly to avoid a large amount of fatalities.

Akodya brought the Shi'ido out of her thoughts, the tense, anxious auras of the fellow passengers suddenly swam over her, increasing her anxiety and nerves. She fought against the shakes that had suddenly appeared in her hands, by gripping the hilt of her lightsaber, relaxing a little as she felt the familiar coolness that it gave off. Looking up at her friend, she began to form the words for her answer when the shuttle suddenly swerved, a giant shudder vibrated through the hull of the craft. Gripping the safety bar even harder, she closed her eyes and waited for the dogfight outside to be over, focusing on her breathing to calm herself. She would not let her fear get the better of her, she would have to be strong if she was to survive the invasion of Mannan.

Soon enough the shuttle returned to it's original course, the sound of blaster fire slowly faded away as the shuttle traveled closer towards the scarred city. Remembering her friends question, she quickly turned to her again, smiling a little to relieve the tension of the past few minutes and to show her that she was fine. Akodya also didn't seem to be too shaken up from the brief dogfight, which relieved the Shi'ido. She was going to need Akodya for support if she was to be of any help to those fighting on the planet surface.

Facing her friend to finally answer her question she said, "As ready as I'll ever be I guess. I don't know how you can be so calm Akodya, aren't you even a little bit apprehensive about what we're going to face down there?"

War had come to Manaan and the sith were bringing hard fast and dirty, with great stamina, power, and flawless technique they penetrated through republic defenses and made their way to the center of the city to plant their flag into the salty blue orb that was Manaan. But there was only one problem, the sith were cocky and ambitious. They were so focused on making it to the finish line and claiming Manaan as their own little salty wet planet they did not realize the tenacity and waves of protection it would throw right back at them. And one of those waves, it was no one else than the girl herself. Patricia mother fraking Garter

Red dress, check. Dual Slug pistols, check. Don't give a frak bad ass chick attitude, double check. The agent of the republic Patricia Susan Garter was minding her own business filling out paperwork until everything went crazy. Next thing you know the sith are trying to take over the planet and crap has gone down south then Patricia at a frat party. The woman ran through the city streets that crawled with death and fighting everywhere, this wasn't the first time she had been in a fight but nothing of this caliber, nothing that involved this much death. Coming from the intel branch building that had been hit with oh so many bombs in the heart of the city Patricia ran and ran her pistols blazing as she made her way through the sea of faceless sith grunts. This was going to be an intense fight but she would be here until the end, win or lose she would stay.

Finding her way into what started off as a pretty bad looking threesome between two sith and a Jedi knight, Patricia had to do something. The man was out numbered and it would only end badly for him. As she ran in to assist the man a Jedi that looked like George Washington with a lightsaber stepped in to even the odds. Not that anyone in this universe knew who that was but moving on she smiled and ran up to the four way of a brawl. Then that's when it hit her she recognized the brunette from the bar back in the space boonies. This girl was hers, she was wanting to claw that girls eyes out since the day they met. Grabbing her pistols she was no more than twenty meters out from her target. Now she would have to deal with the both of them hopefully leaving the knight to deal with the creepy dude with the red saber. "Yo gutter tramp!! Eat slug thrower!" moving to the side so she wouldn't hit the other Jedi Patricia fired seven consecutive accurate shots at the sith hoping they would meet their mark. It was three on two now, and this was a fight they were going to win.

Once @[member="Selena Halcyon"] spoke out to the Imperial soldiers carrying the poison, Darth Apparatus stepped out. He waved his left hand. Upon doing so, the droids carrying the toxins continued to attempt to push their carts to their destination. The Imperial soldiers aimed their sites at those that Selena took.

Only the clanging of the droids’ feet and the distance explosion of Imperial walkers and Republic defenses could be heard for the moment.

Then, Darth Apparatus grabbed a black lightsaber hilt from his belt and ignited it. The soldiers at his side immediately began to fire - and the Republic did so in kind. Darth Apparatus stood his ground as he deflected blaster bolts. Soldiers on both sides slowly began to die - some by the Darth’s ability.

The Sith Lord did not move forward though - at least when the battle began.

"Hauum! Troopers, follow my lead! We press forward!"

The baritone command boomed throughout the surrounding area and a cadre of Sith troopers formed up on the Darth, letting him lead the way. Wielding the purple bladed Soulsaber and flanked by advancing platoons, Orcus cut a swathe through the Republic forces. He bellowed again and again, clearing away whole sections of enemy troops with his singular power. The destruction he wrought was an unprecedented use of Force Bellow. Overpressure shock waves tore soldiers to pieces, careless of their body armor. Internal organs ruptured, limbs blew off, and even a few buildings collapsed.

Orcus and his troops poured through the gap in the Republic lines he created. Eventually, Orcus lost them in the fray, charging headlong into Republic lines time and again, reveling in the thrill of battle as he gambled against fate itself.

Finally, he cut his way into the center of the city. Before him, he saw the troops of Ronin Fel and then he saw the man himself. A smile split Orcus' face nearly in half, revealing a row of bone-crushing teeth.

"Ronin Fel, I presume." Orcus' voice boomed across the intervening distance between the two. "I have waited long to face such a worthy foe. I will be honored to kill you. Come, feel my wrath!"

Darth Orcus' black eyes gleamed pitilessly and he opened his rather large mouth. He bellowed long and hard. The overpressure shockwave ripped across the space between the Herglic and Fel, obliterating anything and anyone that came in its path.

@Tanis Ashfall @Ronnie Vexis @Aken Bosch

"My Lord, long range scans have picked up the approaching Republic fleet."
Shadow gazed at the aide briefly, then dismissed him. Calling on the Force he brought a display screen to his hand. Indeed, the hyperspace distortion left no doubt. The enemy were coming, and soon.
"All ships assume Delta formation. Advance forward and wait for the enemy's approach."
And so his ships entered the middle of the battlefield deployed in three shallow columns. Once the Republic fleet appeared he would make his first real move.
