The Bellaguise - Concord Pelta Class Medical Frigate
Orbit above Cato Neimoidia
Part 2
"We don't know."
Padawan Starr answered Knight Revenna's question. She didn't know him. She didn't know the Nautolan either. But this was business. And she spoke like it was just business.
She walked over to the computer stations that lined the cockpit's outer hallway. There were eight of them. Each with a duty officer hunched over their station pensively. Pretending not to be listening. Pretending that anything was better than being cramped in here right now. Just waiting.
Madison put down a burrito on the computer station and motioned for Jax to take it. She'd picked up two downstairs. This one was his. Then she turned. Garbbed in soft, wool Jedi robes down to her knees. And nodded back to Travot,
"We're waiting for news from the planet. We've got agents on the ground already. And... When we get a better picture of what we're dealing with? Of... What the government wants us to do? ...Then?"
She paused and unsheathed her own burrito and took a bite. One of the duty officers gave her a somber look. Jealous, or hungry, maybe.
"...Then. We'll figure something out."
That was the plan.
For now. They wait.
"Sir!"
One of the duty officers rose up quickly as his screen flashed. Jumping up and pushing through the crowd. Opening the cockpit door and nodding to the ship's Captain. Funny. It was so sudden that he startling all the rest of the officers. Tense nerves. I guess.
"Sir! The Emerald Undertow just warped in. It's Admiral Quee."
You could hear their loud military voices clearly from the cockpit.
"Fine. That's fine." The Captain grumbled slowly. Urging the man with a calming gesture to settle down. "It's fine. We knew this was serious. We were all expecting somebody would show up. It's fine. Just relax."
"Ah. Yes sir." The officer replied sheepishly. Then paused. As if he didn't know what to do next.
"It's fine. Go sit down. If the Admiral needs a Medical Frigate? He'll call. ...So. Relax." The Captain sighed and motioned for the man to return to his seat outside. Then, he returned to reading his book. Quiet as a ghost.
Madison sighed too. Watching the embarrassed duty officer slowly slide back past them all and retake their seat in the corridor. A few chuckles from his teammates ensued quietly. An overreaction. Probably. Who needs a Medical Frigate when nobody knows whats happening anyway.
For now. They wait.
Padawan Starr turned back to Travot. Unwrapping her other burrito and shrugging. Almost uncaring.
"See. The big guns are already here. Heh."
She took a giant bite of her burrito and looked down at the computer's electronic read out of the planet below. Watching dozens of small starship's and possible Jedi allies arriving at the cities' airspace. All flying right into the dark heart of this terrible mess. Mm.
All flying right into the unknown.
"See. Nothing to even worry about." She almost smiled.
What could possibly go wrong.
