Critique My Ships

I know little about fleeting beyond the basics and the same can be said for my starship design. Here, I'm looking for critique about flaws you see in these designs, ways to make the ships better (while still being balanced), how to inject flavor into the sub, and your overall input about them.

Here's some of the ones I've put up:

  • Vigil is good, nice clean design. I think the judges will tell you you're one 'point' up, since the progression is Average > Moderate > High but overall nicely balanced.
  • The Fulgor, as the judges will tell you, is overpowered. 3 is too high got a cruiser hanger to be rated as average. My thoughts are you can drop the hanger one and the weapons and maybe manoeuvre a slot. Nice layout of the template though and good idea.
  • The Kontos looks really good. Looks nicely balanced and well thought out.

Getting the exact ratings right takes a bit of effort. If I might suggest you check out Raziel's great Excel sheet which helps do the calculations.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Classification: (Cruiser, Assault, Anti-Starfighter, Escort, Exploration, Heavy Cruiser, Medical, Patrol, Transport)
Length: (Via Metric System. Max: 1000 meters. Examples: MC40a Cruiser: 500 meters, Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruiser: 600 meters, Victory-class Star Destroyer: 900 meters)
Width: (Via Metric System. Max: 1000 meters. Examples: MC40a Cruiser: 200 meters, Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruiser: 116.5 meters, Victory-class Star Destroyer: 450 meters)
Height: (Via Metric System. Max: 1000 meters. Examples: MC40a Cruiser: 130 meters, Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruiser: 250 meters, Victory-class Star Destroyer: 270 meters)
Armament: (You may provide your armament in list format and must provide your vessel an Armament Rating. (Choose from: None, Very Low, Low, Average, Moderate, High, Very High, Extreme. Armament Ratings are scaled in relation to the class of ship, meaning a Starfighter will not equate to a Destroyer. For example an average 900m ship will outgun an average 600m ship. Armament Ratings provide only basic weaponry unless the ship also has a description of weapons. Please link to all Factory Submissions used. Links: Starship Weapons, Approved Technology)
Defenses: (You may provide your shield and armor systems in list format and must provide your vessel an Defense Rating. (Choose from: None, Very Low, Low, Average, Moderate, High, Very High, Extreme. Where None is a man in a space suit hanging on to an engine, Average is typical defense, and Extreme is heaviest defense with heavy armor plating and multiple layers of powerful shields. Defensive Ratings are scaled in relation to the type of ship, meaning a Starfighter will not equate to a Destroyer. You should list particular systems under special features. Please link to all Factory Submissions used. Links: Approved Technology)
Hangar: (Please provide the amount of fighters this submission can hold in it's hangar by count of Squadrons, which hold 12 average Starfighters. The higher your squadron count, the lower your Armament and number of Special Features should be. [Very Low: 1 | Average: 3 | Very High: 6])
3 squadrons is literally what the starship template says is average for a cruiser.

The difference is a 620m patrol cruiser (intentionally weak in exchange for speed and man) compared to usually 900/1000m heavy cruiser.

As the sole manufacturer of Imperial vessels since December 2016, I thank you and think that these will make fine additions to the Imperial Starfleet.

Aye, that is based on a 1000m cruiser though. A 620m cruiser, as noted, would not be able to lay claim to that.
The post says 500 to 1000m use this template, start at Mass Produced and average for everything and then go down on one thing for everytime you go up in another thing.

Is that not the case?

Kael's right - the rating is the rating regardless of the ship size. Put another way, three squadrons is always average for a cruiser. A smaller ship would just have a reduced total of highs and moderates and so forth.

I'm pretty sure that's not what [member="Raziel"]'s intent is, I think it is based on the size of the ship. He can confirm...or we'll find out through the Factory, lol.

That aside, think my other comments remain. They're good designs, and with a few tweaks will be very useful TGE additions.
