Crusaders Lead The Way! - Dominion of Subterrel [Moross]

Piraiba

Togorian Barricade
Piraiba proceeded to utilize his saber as a back-scratcher to dispatch Zoey Marix. Or at least that is what he might have done under other circumstances. However, in this situation Zoey's gambit paid off. Her grasp managed to distract the Togorian from jumping away from Ashra to evade her. Having not done this, the Sith Acolyte's saber made a quick stinging gash into his leg armor before the beast fell to his hands and knees in the dirt.

His claw adorned hands then reached up to grip his own head before yelling out. There was great terror in having something rip control of your flesh from your own mind so that the baser instincts could take over. It was the perfect weapon really, but he was fortunate that Ashra'syle'nuruodo had interrupted the attack. The exposure had been limited for the feline.

Having Zoey dangling off of him like a cape while the Chiss Acolyte tried to dance around him seemed to be enough to bring his foggy consciousness back to the front. It took a few breaths, but he slowly started to push himself back up.

"You can release Piraiba now, little sisters."

[member="Ashra'syle'nuruodo"] @Zoey Marix

Cat had, upon [member="Zoey Marix"] 's instruction, skidded to a stop before he made contact with @Piraiba. He was at a loss of what to do now, for by the time her attempt to keep Piraiba down had failed, the Bishop had hurled herself upon the creatures back and the Chiss woman who had crawled out of the wreckage was attempting to bring him down. The follower of Erebos silently cursed, knowing his offensive options were limited severely. Opening a comm-frequency to the Herald, he muttered a few commands and began to circle the trio.

Sure enough, the girls managed to bring the beast down after a few tense moments that seemed to last far longer than they actually had, but Cat was still wary. Deactivating his saber, he pulled a pair of med-kits off his belt and threw one of them to [member="Ashra'syle'nuruodo"]. He then made his way to Piraiba and Zoey.

"Piraiba, for your own safety and for those around you, please but these cuffs on. With the main Machine still active, we can't risk you losing your senses again. I have no desire to send you to meet Erebos today."

He lay a pair of stun-cuffs next to the Togorian and pressing the hilt of his saber to his ribcage. If the blade were to be activated, well, the giant furry crusader wasn't going to be happy, that much was certain. Without taking his eyes from their troubled comrade, Cat spoke to the Bishop.

"Lady Marix, we need to get you out of here."

As if on cue, a rumbling sound in the distance saw the Devourer's Herald descending from the clouds. The ground forces had established a safe landing zone just outside the Machine's range, as he had ordered them to. Over the comm he had heard them taking minor casualties, but it was nothing they couldn't handle. Only one of the Nune-Class dropships had been shot down and even now the techs were in the process of recovering it. The weapon batteries onboard the ship were firing at various locations where resistance was concentrated but they wouldn't be able to hold them forever.

"Van-Derveld to all Moross forces. The Bishop is secure, for now. I have my dropships waiting to extract but they can't get to us until that machine is down. If you'd like a ride out of here, then you're more than welcome."

As the feline had been dropped to his knees, He roared out and through the sheer sounds and vibrations within the air, I could feel and hear my eardrums pop. it caused ringing and a dullness to all the sounds. While I had been hanging on for dear life, almost like putting a child sized cape onto an adult, he fell to his hands and knees and after a few seconds I let go of him after hearing for me to leg go. Doing so, I did slowly and allowed my body to almost slide off from his own back.

It was then Cat came up and said for Piriba to put the stuncuffs on. I almost hated it for putting the sentient creature in cuffs like a wild animal. it was most likely from the shoulder cannon on the soldiers body that caused him to lose his marbles for a moment. I shook my head and allowed the cuffs to be put on if [member="Piraiba"], would even put them on in the first place. Cat the turned to me and said that I would have to get out of here. I dully nodded my head and reached down to pick up my beskad, putting it in the sheath across the back of my hips. I looked down at my mud, blood, and greasy covered suit.

"I'm gonna need this replaced."

Piraiba

Togorian Barricade
Piraiba eyed the cuffs that the Cat Van-Derveld placed next to him before the man placed his inactive saber hilt against the feline's side. This act made the cat narrow his eyes as the fur bristled on the back of his neck. His durasteel armor would buy very precious little time against cat's saber. Underneath that rested his battered mandalorian iron vest earned during his days in RC's Death Watch. That had a higher melting point though there were also gaps where a blade could get between.

Then again the Togorian was more than capable of reaching out and snapping Cat's neck almost as quickly since the knight was so close. Both of them had the advantage of the force's premonitions. In the end what it came down to was the core of Piraiba's values. He had been a slave, and he'd die before he'd be one ever again.

The feline leaned down a bit as he placed his gargantuan claw adorned hand on the Sith Knight's shoulder.

"Piraiba respects your heart, little brother. Kill this one if you must, but Piraiba will never wear shackles again."

Sephoria Lasranae

The Devourer's Reaper
[member="Siara Vorru"] @Other Crusaders

The shadow soldiers who held a perimeter around their splicer watched as Sephoria and Siara approached from the distance. They held fire and waited as the mercenary moved to roll her grenade down the tunnel. The Garhoon also watched and waited for the impending explosion that would send small shrapnel at subsonic speeds into the bodies of anyone who didn't get behind cover.

Seph then quickly moved with her salvaged rifle at the ready. The first sign of motion was met with blaster bolts. Unsurprisingly it didn't take many shots. Siara's grenade had been quite effective.

Behind them the blast doors started to creak open as a signal of a successful splicing. Erebos' finest prepared for the impending counter attack from defenders within, but no resistance was met. No soldiers seemed to have been posted inside.

Cautiously the first two Reapers made their way inside and scanned the immediate area before giving the clear signal.

Moments later Sephoria made her way past the blast doors and looked up to see an impressive spire that spanned at least a hundred feet. It was a complex network of firing tesla coils filling the room with their combined thunderous thumps. Relay dishes of some kind and thick conduits for power lines snaked their way in and out.

As she gazed on the majesty of all of the power surging in and out of the contraptions above her she suddenly realized why no guards had been posted here. Already she could feel deep nausea starting to overcome her along with a massive headache. It wasn't the weapon firing. That had been much more intense and focused. Still the runoff energies had taken only half a minute to annoy her so heavily. Behind her she could hear the sound of vomiting.

"The room is irradiated. Find a way to bring this beast down. NOW!"

The vampire turned around and reached up to her comm link. "This is Cronos Lasranae. We've found the machine."

The threat from the big Togorian past Asylen deactivated her lightsaber as she rose, she watched as [member="Cat Van-Derveld"] approached tossing her a med kit. She caught it wincing a little, apparently the crash had taken more out of her then she had thought, it felt as though her ribs were bruised at the very least, she had been so focused on drawing from the pain of others to strengthen herself she hadn’t even realized how rough of shape she was in. She began patching up the cuts and scrapes with bacta patches from the kit they were relatively minor and wouldn’t take long to heal still she certainly wasn’t anxious to crash again anytime soon.

“Let [member="Piraiba"] be, if he turns on us again I will take responsibility for it and end him.” Ashra’syle’nuruodo said coldly, she didn’t care about his plight or his past she only recognized that until they extracted the possibility of the mercenaries striking again meant they would probably need him.

[member="Zoey Marix"]

Watching the mercenaries crumble quickly most of them dying in the initial blast the rest of them falling to the blaster fire from [member="Sephoria Lasranae"] and her squad of reapers. She smiled satisfied with her work as she heard the blast doors creaking open behind them. As Reapers moved in Siara moved quietly beside the Garhoon past the blast doors she felt the queasy uneasiness caused by the irradiated room it became clear why there wasn’t any guards in the room given the effects were already taking hold even through her armor was designed to provide at least a bit of protection against such effects. She resisted the urge to vomit as she pressed onward, she wanted to pull up her helmet and spit up the bile rising in her throat but she knew if she did she would be exposed to that much more of the radiation so she resisted the urge.

Scanning over the hundred or so foot spire covered in relay dishes as it pulsed with energy she looked for a control console or a main power line to the device. There had to be one of each in order to control equipment such as this and the sooner they found and eliminated one or both the sooner they would be able to get out of the irradiated room. Spotting a power line coming down the center of the spire through a control console she grinned to herself. “There is the ticket, lets blow it and get out of here.”

Approaching the console she scanned over its controls waiting for the Reapers to take whatever action they deemed appropriate as she tried to fiddle with the controls to power it down. She didn’t have a clue what anything on the panel did but she figured if she pressed enough buttons something was going to happen and worst came to worst if the controls didn’t work she could simply blast the console and hope for the best.

"As well as myself." I spoke to the man. As much as @Piraiba would be one to be powerful, if need be I could kill him. But at the same time, he could kill me. The difference would come down to who could take as many hits as the other could dish out. Both of us were warmongers by trade and could break just about anything given enough time. I walked over to Cat and pushed down the cuffs away from the feline. "Hell, If you have to have someone hold his hands I will."

We needed to satisfy the need to be protected, as well as the need for honor. And I would do just about anything to do that.

Sephoria Lasranae

The Devourer's Reaper
Sephoria eyed the machinery as her tech specialist went to work identifying the structure. She listened to the chatter on the radio channel as she made her round around what she assumed to be some kind of central computer system. It appeared that Zoey Marix had been rescued. Then under the circumstances it came down to the reapers to finish the opposition's last weapon against the Crusade.

"Here, Cronos! She found the main control panel," added one of the Reapers who gestured toward Siara.

"Were they controlling from here?"

"Negative, they're firing it from remote controls somewhere else. It's lethal here. If it goes off while we're in here it will probably fry us alive."

Sephoria nodded as she grabbed an explosive charge from one of her shadow soldiers and tossed it to the tech. Nothing more needed to be said. The man immediately went to work installing his explosives along a massive cooling line. The chemical reaction would likely not only disable the machine, but cause excessive damage to the surrounding facility as well. This was unfortunately quite dangerous given that they would be retreating down mine shafts that wouldn't allow the explosive force to expand out.

"Charges set for five minutes. Lets get the hell out of here!"

"Deimos, you won't see me run often. Try not to enjoy it to much," added the Garhoon with a hidden grin from behind her breathing mask. "MOVE PEOPLE!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There were no stops for the black armor clad soldiers as they charged through the corridors on their way out of the mountain. Five minutes later a huge explosion made the facility shudder as dust filled the air. Fire erupted from multiple exits as Sephoria just got back to the exit doors. She dove around the corner as the fire roared out past her.
It took a couple moments for the vampire to catch her breath as she reached for her comm link to make the final report. Her eyes traveled from soldier to soldier as she did this to see if anyone didn't make it out.
"Cronos Lasranae to command. The machine is out of the equation."
[member="Siara Vorru"] @Other Crusaders
Cat grinned widely as [member="Piraiba"] spoke.
"I expected nothing less, my friend," He said, levitating the cuffs back into his hand and then returning them to the pouch on his belt, "It won't be long before we're off this damn rock. Truth be told, I would have relished the opportunity to test my abilities against you. Perhaps another time, if the Aesir will it."
Looking to [member="Zoey Marix"] and [member="Ashra'syle'nuruodo"], Cat pondered how eager they were to end the big feline. These two would be definitely be worth keeping an eye on in the future. That line of thought didn't last long, however, as [member="Sephoria Lasranae"]'s reports began to seep in over the comm. After listening intently, when the machine was reported as out of action he sent a few messages of his own.
"Herald, you are clear to send the dropships. Lock onto Moross signatures and dispatch accordingly. Have the med-bays standing by to receive any casualties," He ordered, before switching the channel, "Van-Derveld to all Moross forces, dropships are on the way."
It would only take a few minutes for the dropships to make their way to them, thanks to the established LZ being so close. While Cat was known for losing control very easily in personal combat, he was an intelligent man with a mind for strategy. His eyes tracked over to the frigate as it lifted into the air, waiting for the ships to return to it.
Piraiba
Togorian Barricade
Piraiba eyed [member="Cat Van-Derveld"] for a moment as if re-measuring him from his response. The feline then nodded in approval. Another time that match would be something to see.
The two women then received narrowed eyes instead. Piraiba didn't believe himself to be so easily ended, but he supposed they did say this in his defense. The fairer sex was a strange beast indeed. He finally just nodded to the two rather than to open his mouth. Then he heard the explosion in the distance and looked back to see several spouts of flame shooting out of the mountain.
It was over. There would be a pockets of resistance, but the main forces were routed and their objectives met.
Seeing that they were getting ready to blow the main coolant line to the massive mind control device Siara stopped fiddling with the controls she had found. The nausea from the radiation was starting to get to her anyway and she felt ready to vomit. She watched as the charges were set looking up as the larger woman spoke giving instructions to get out of the tunnels. Apparently they had set the explosives on a relatively short timer.
“I wouldn’t dream of it Chronos in fact I’ll race you, I don’t feel like being vaporized in a massive explosion today.” Siara said with a smirk hidden behind her own helmet as she took off up through the tunnels with the rest of the Reapers. As they charged up the tunnels they passed other Crusaders who had not received instructions to fall back. “This place is going to blow, get out of the tunnels if you don’t want to become a permanent part of the walls.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------
As they cleared the outer doors Siara collapsed as the explosives went off, she was breathing heavily as she rolled onto her back and started to laugh to herself the near death experience had caused an almost delirious state. She looked at [member="Sephoria Lasranae"] as she rose to her knee, reports of crusaders having cleared the tunnels just in time were coming across her HUD though some squads had not reported in yet. “Well that was fun, we should do it again sometime.”
From now on it would be largely a cleanup operation perhaps a search and rescue operation for those squads that had not reported in but the chances of anyone trapped in the tunnels when that explosion went off surviving were pretty remote. Getting to her feet finally she started coordinating the cleanup effort sending squads to address various pockets of resistance but it wouldn’t take long. With this victory the rest of the planet would soon fall in line or face extermination like so many pirates did today.
