Her slugthrower only held a few more rounds, and she'd left her flamethrower in the crumbling ruin below. Perhaps some future explorers would find the weapon along with the dead Jedi's lightsaber, long after the dueling trio lay six feet under, each in their unmarked grave. The worms would feast on their flesh regardless of who they were in life, and thought made the Sith smile as she listened to the sounds of the two masters duking it out.

With her armored back flush against a slab of charred permacrete, the firrerreo watched their orange silhouettes dance through the stone, waiting for an opportunity to strike. She wondered how long [member="Corvus Raaf"] could keep up her Force tricks, what with the battle beforehand and the doubtless taxing duel with [member="Darth Vornskr"]. Grandmaster or not, the woman would deplete her reserves soon enough, and Vrag was more than happy to help her along in that endeavor.

For a moment she thought she'd heard a faint whisper behind her, but with the sounds of lightsabers meeting and Sith razing the planet, one could never be sure. Opting to ignore possibly dangerous distractions — there was no heat signature when she turned around, after all — the Knight took a deep breath and charged out from behind her cover, blade at the ready.

She wouldn't risk taking a shot from this range, not when the Jedi had proven that her dodging skills were rather impeccable; if anything, she could hit the Sith Lord instead, and the armored woman liked her chances better with him than without him. Vrag threw a crude Force push at her opponent as she approached, hoping to disrupt the brunette's balance enough for Vornskr to exploit it; he was the closer of the two, after all, and she could use the subsequent commotion to move into the wide measure.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Just when you thought you’d made the right move, life had a habit of proving you wrong.
Except Corvus was a Jedi – a peacekeeper – and was sworn to at least try to bring the two Sith to justice, so running off at this stage was not an option.

The key was in her previous thought – two Sith – not one, but Sith plural. For having focused on the Sith Lord almost exclusively, the Jedi had ignored the Knight – and as she supposed she did not present a clear and present danger, the Force seemed to have let her out of its sight too.

So the sight of a Sith Knight charging at you, saber in hand should have set off alarm bells – had Corvus been looking. Instead the first she knew of it was when she received a Force Push that sent her back down the hole she’d just exited somewhat theatrically. This was becoming somewhat repetitive.

This time she reached the bottom before using Force Valor to leap back out. This time she opted to land on the opposite side of the hole to the Sith Knight. Bringing peace to the galaxy was a lot harder work than people understood.

As she landed, she shook her head. “Are either of you ready to surrender yet? If I say please does it help?”

The roof of dreams
The Sith Lord smiled at the Jedi's impish words, "You've only seen a fraction of the wonders I can show you, Corvus. You should join us, end this destructive conflict between us, and bring order to this fractured galaxy we call home." Of course, he didn't expect the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order to so easily lay down her arms and join them, but it never hurt to lay that out on the table. Still, some part of him was glad she would reject his offer, that dark primal aspect of him that hungered for blood, and one that was kept down just long enough before being allowed to pounce to the forefront to tear his foes to bloody ribbons. He could feel it writhing within him, struggling against it's restraints so that it may gorge on the darkness, on the flesh of anything and everyone, but Vornskr willed it to be still and to wait. For the prey that was taken with patience in cunning was more sweet than one taken hastily and without finesse.

He pointed his blade at the Grandmaster, and then with a knowing smirk he suddenly twisted the top half of his body around, bringing his blade back and held horizontally parallel to his twisted body. And then with a great heave he chucked his blade towards the Grandmaster in a spinning arc, it's crimson edge twirling around and around like a discus made of scarlet light. Although, he was not yet done, and even just as the blade leaped from his grip he extended both hands forward with great force, willing the Dark Side of the Force to flow through them and give him the power he demanded. He then suddenly pulled back abruptly, and as he did so a wall of Force formed behind Corvus' position and threatened to suddenly yank her off of her feet as he pulled back, and send her headlong into the oncoming lightsaber.

Of course, this could go just as bad for Vornskr as it could for Corvus, but at least he was prepared for such a thing to occur, if it did at all.

The peal of thunder sounded in the distance as the tempest drew ever nearer, and the drumming of raindrops against her black plate grew ever louder in her ears. It was almost comically out of place upon that ravaged roof, where as far as the eye could see only flames and destruction reigned over the land, the hand of the Sith ruthless in its mercy. As if the heavens themselves had reached down to wash away the stain of blood and battle from the planet after the army was done, snuffing the low burn of ember among the ruins.

She would walk across the plains, then, after all was said and done, and let the cool water wipe the soot from her flesh. She would revel in the thrum of the earth under the crack of lightning, the mark she'd left upon this world backlit in white and blue.

But all in good time; she still had a Jedi to gut, after all.

The Knight allowed herself a small smile when the push caught her opponent unawares, knocking her off her feet and into that dark, dank hole in the roof, but the woman was back before she could even get in a proper Evil Cackle™. A pity, but this was hardly the time or the place to lament the turn of events.

She suppressed the urge to roll her eyes at the Grandmaster's remark, opting for the true and tried method instead. Even as [member="Darth Vornskr"] worked to impale the brunette — no pun intended — Vrag resolved to shoot [member="Corvus Raaf"] in the back, if only to cement her status as a good and proper Sith; wouldn't do to have it come in jeopardy, after all. The armored warrior would level the slugthrower at her exposed back once the Sith Lord started pulling the Jedi in, hoping that the Grandmaster would be overwhelmed by their team effort at least on one front.

(Sorry for my absence from this thread, totally forgot about it :p)

Vi'kas watched as the Sith and Jedi fought in a deadly dance of blades, with no clear victor. Deep inside, the assassin knew that he was outmatched. That had never stopped him before, though. "Captain Nexu, block off every escape route from this temple, the Jedi must not escape."

"Yes Sir!"

The young Sith nodded to the Marine Captain before him. He often considered the man a mentor, and at times, even a friend. They had been through a lot together, and the trooper had even saved his life a few times. It occurred to Vi'kas that he may not make it out of the upcoming fight alive.

After taking a deep breath, he hopped out of the gunship. He fell through the air, wind whipping at his face. He saw the three lightsabers slash and hack at each other below. He drew his own black and indigo blade, igniting it in midair. He landed silently behind the Jedi Master, blade jutting forward in a vicious stabbing motion...

With every passing moment the shimmering grew more and more intense. What had started out as a reflection of light was turning into a blue sphere practically humming with energy. The orb was shaking. It seemed to somehow convey a horrid sense of sadness. Despair... but most of all confusion. When the voice sounded off again it was four times as loud, twice as clear.
"CORVUS."
Each syllable was pronounced with strength. Conviction. One moment the shivering light was standing still, the next it was zooming after the Sith Knight, following her straight to the main battle, staying just a foot behind. Once again it spoke. This time was far, far louder. More of a scream then anything. It was a shout of pure misery, one that could easily get stuck in someone's mind for years to come.
"WHO. IS. CORVUS?"
Once more the soul-sphere pulsated, rising up, gathering itself above the fighting trio- soon to be a quartet. It shook aggressively, the humming noise growing louder, seeming to be in sync with the distant thundering. When it's shallow, sing-song voice was heard again, it was, like the first time, a simple glimpse of a noise. A whisper carried by the wind, and nothing more.
"Forgive me for whatever I do, when I do not remember you."
In the distance there was a harsh flash of lightning. Soon the storm would come upon the worst part of the makeshift battlefield. With that bright light the orb- most likely what was left of Nyx- dimmed greatly. Had any of the warriors decided to blink in that moment they would have missed it dashing away. The sky-colored shape rushed away, zooming right through Vi'kas before vanishing in an instant. Another round of thunder announced it's departure. Whatever it was was gone... perhaps to finally get some rest.
Corvus...

‘I am a new day rising
I’m a brand new sky
To hang the stars upon tonight
I am a little divided
Do I stay or run away
And leave it all behind?’

It was like any number of planets over again. 'Let’s gang up on Corvus' seemed to be one of the Sith’s favourite pastimes – and to be fair, she was happy to play the game. And in fairness the odds were better than on Kashyyk and she’d remained standing then. Well, admittedly standing with a limp, but she was at least upright.

Fortunately she was a Force User and skilled at Teräs Käsi. So it all unravelled at a speed she could cope with. Just. The Sith Lord presented the greatest threat by far – and yet he was the most understated. He kept it simple and that was different for Corvus. There were no lengthy debates or attempts at mind games. He just got down to business. One on one, she might almost say she would have had fun. Not quite, of course, but almost. But three on to one meant she had no time to reflect on his form or tactics, she simply had to act.

One of the key benefits of Force Valor was that her resolve accuracy and speed were increased. And the advantage of Steel Hands was that even without the Force she could operate at extreme speed and had an aptitude for anticipating strikes. And just like Darth Maul (yes, she was not ashamed to admit she had studied him as well as Masters Bondara and Kloon) she was able to combine the two in combat.

One of the first things she always taught Padawans when dealing with the Force, especially in combat, is to avoid opposing it wherever possible. Work with it, not against it was something of a mantra of hers.

Not up there with, ‘Join the Dark-side and we can rule the galaxy together’ but it was useful none the less. She pondered Vornskr's offer for less than a fraction of a second before dismissing the notion and focussing instead on the saber blade spinning towards her. And no sooner had she decided on a course of action than she felt the Force pulling her into the crimson blade’s wide arc.

Now back to the mantra – no, not the ruling the galaxy one, the other one. Rather than resist the Force Pull, she went with him – springing forward and using Vornskr’s own attack to aid her escape.

So far so good. And was that…thunder?

Now there was the annoyance of the Sith Knight’s attack. In fairness, the Lord did her a favour. As did the Acolyte – but let’s not spoil the fun and take things as they come. As Corvus looked to avoid the oncoming saber she leaped forward (aided by the Force Pull) and upwards (aided by Force Valor). The shot to her back was both cowardly (but they were Sith after all) and somewhat dangerous. At this range, and with her being so distracted, it would be difficult for her to avoid all of the projectiles, surely.

But back to the fun part. And yes, that was lightning – which meant any second now there would be some more thunder.

If the Acolyte thought the GrandMaster of the Jedi wouldn’t hear a gunship overhead and then sense a Sith dropping to a spot just behind her, his Master needed reprimanding. Seriously. But she didn’t mind, for the poor Acolyte landed directly behind her, his blade already ignited as he looked to stab her in the back.

Except Corvus wasn’t there any more – she’d just that moment leaped forward. And instead of hitting Corvus in the back, the slugthrower might have to explain why they’d chosen to shoot their fellow Sith in that very same part of the anatomy. The debrief should be interesting. Corvus wondered if she might be able to ask for a copy. Vornskr seemed a nice chap, she could ask him.

So Corvus looked to sail over the head of the Sith Lord and not wishing to try anything to fancy, land with her back to him. Another peal of thunder suggested she really might have to leave soon. As she landed, she pressed a button on her saber.

Saber? Oh yes, talking of sabers, Vornskr’s did clip Corvus on the way past. The rain subdued the smell of cauterised flesh as her boot was now damaged beyond repair and her ankle and side of her shin were decidedly redder than they were a few moments ago. No breakage but a lot of tissue damage. Did Vornskr have some sort of ankle fetish? This was going to need a decent amount of bacta to put right.

Oh yes, back to the saber. Of course after winging Corvus it carried on along its trajectory – straight towards the recently landed Acolyte. Corvus wondered if they should make a training holoflic based on this encounter? It would be…interesting.

Moar Roof-on-Roof Action XXX 18+
The rain now came down in a horrendous downpour that blanketed the city in it's entirety, washing away the grime and blood of the ongoing massacre, and soaking the Sith Lord's robes to his skin. Still, he hardly felt the cold that began to settle, his mind wholly set on the Grandmaster's movements as he perceived them. Still, the rain matted down his graying black hair and plastered it to his skull, and his beard became soggy as time wore on. He was also painfully aware of the constant intrusion of the Sith Knight [member="Vrag"], and now the added presence of [member="Vi'kas Mirtis"] became a grating headache behind his eyes, but he could do nothing about it now. He could only fight on, and hoped that the lesser Sith wouldn't get in his way, but he doubted it. The rush for the Grandmaster's blood would be overwhelming, and soon this roof would be joined by more entities whose collective presence would dwarf both of them.

She leaped over his head, his eyes tracking her movements, and he turned around as she landed behind him and activated his blade. His own blade had continued on it's trajectory until it hit something solid or was stopped by one of the other Sith, for he didn't bother to recall it to his hand at this moment. By the time it would've finally rested in his hands, it would've been too late to mount a reasonable defense against [member="Corvus Raaf"] considering their close proximity. So, he opted to call upon the Dark Side of the Force and channel the living Force through his body like a conduit, and he raised both of his gnarled hands up in defiance to the Jedi's presence. From his fingertips erupted tendrils of thick cobalt lightning that sparked the air with the overbearing smell and taste of ozone, and the air grew heavy with greasy, polluted, hatred; the Dark Side erupting from the Sith Lord's very body to smite a champion of the Light.

Much like Sidious before him, his face curled into an ugly visage of hatred, his mouth opening as he let loose a bestial snarl pass his pale lips, a few globs of spittle flinging forth with the effort. He was the epitome of a monster in that one moment, full of abstract hatred and rage covering varying degrees of doubt, fear, despair, anxiety, and other negative emotions that would leave a bad taste in the mouth of any rational man, but this beast was not rational in the traditional sense. Still, his mind was set on her destruction, and when set forth on that path there was hardly any deviation.

'I'm glad to go
I cannot tell a lie
I flit, I float
I fleetly flee, I fly'

She may have had a phobia of thunder, but they always tell you it’s the lightning you should really be scared of. And how right they were.

As the rain drenched them all and water dripped off her nose, Corvus landed, her back to the Sith Lord. She sensed it before it hit her - and before she had a chance to react. The Force warned her but even with faster than usual reflexes, there was only so much a Jedi can do. The pain was truly unbearable - and it felt like she was suffering thousands of strokes all at once. As she twisted she managed to bring her saber up to block the blue lightning that was not only frying her internal synapses but also doing significant damage to her back.

As she faced the evil that was Darth Vornskr, she wondered how much longer she’d survive in this depleted condition - but a little tug from the Force gave her hope.

Appearing from below roof level, her ship came into view, its hangar door open. The beckon call she’d previously activated had worked and she was never so grateful to see Raven 2. A witty remark would have been classy - but she didn’t even have the energy for that. Instead she leaped onto the ship, landing face first on the ramp. “GET ME OUTTA HERE…”

The astro-droid didn’t wait to be shouted at twice as it raised the ramp - Corvus sliding down it, into the ship, and as a default, it set coordinates to get them into hyperspace as quickly as possible - and back home. Before she passed out, she managed to give one last instruction. “Send a message to [member="Kana Truden"], tell her to get a bacta tank ready - again..”

Vi'kas stumbled forward as his saber missed its mark, which probably saved his life. The lightsaber completely missed him, but he wished he could say the same for the slugs. The projectiles grazed his his back. He was luckily wearing armor, which absorbed most of the shot. However, it would leave a bruise as it impacted his shoulder, blasting him back a few feet.

He watched the events unfold as he layed on his stomach, battered from just being shot. However, when the Jedi leapt to her ship, he took action. He still had gunships hovering in the air, cutting off any escapes. He pressed a button on his holocommunicator. "Captain, destroy the Jedi ship. Obliterate it. Wipe it from existence. Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir!"

A few seconds later, he heard the engines of the gunships moving into their positions, and the screaming noises as a number of torpedoes moved in to blast the ship to smithereens...

Roofturp
The magnitude of his seething hatred subsided as the Jedi Master flung herself away from his deadly barrage, leaping into her ship in a wild flight to escape him. He gave no move to pursue the battle damaged Grandmaster, but rather he stared her down as the hatch closed behind her and the ship's engines roared to life to blast off into the higher atmosphere of the planet. Of course there were a few Imperial gunships in the nearby vicinity that gave chase and attempted to shoot down the Jedi ship, but he suspected that someone as wily as [member="Corvus Raaf"] would not be taken down so easily by a couple of missiles fired by those not attuned to the Force. Thus as the rain continued to poor down relentlessly, the towering Sith Lord extended his left hand towards where his lightsaber had fallen, and after a moment's time the unlit hilt of his weapon surged forth from it's resting place and landed deftly in his open palm.

His eyes did not leave the fading sight of Raaf's spaceship for some time, but eventually he tore his eyes away to gaze upon the two other Sith who had accompanied him in his battle against the Grandmaster. For them he had nothing to say, but he did give them a simple curt command: "This world no longer has any meaning to us, return to the fleet so that we may cleanse Cularin of the Jedi taint. Deviate from my command and you shall face grave punishment, this is the Dark Lord's will." He clipped his lightsaber to the leather belt fastened across his waist, and drew up his hood around his face so that only the gleam of his Dark Side-fueled eyes illuminated the darkness that now concealed his face.

"Now go."

[member="Vrag"]
[member="Lord Ajihad"]

Lord Ajihad gave a grave nod to [member="Darth Vornskr"] . It was a shame that the Grandmaster was about to escape, though he had utmost confidence in his men's abilities. He knew that his Marines were truly the best of the best, and that they would certainly give the Jedi some trouble. However, he still had to round up a few patrols, and didn't want to be late for the debriefing.

He walked around the compound's perimeter, inspecting the patrols, and making sure they were all fine. A good commander always looked out for the well-being of their men, after all.

As he was about to head back to the camp, he caught something out of the corner of his eye. It was nearly impossible to see, a mere glint of metal among a pile of rubble (probably from the airstrike caused by yours truly). Deciding it must have been an act of God, Vi'kas headed for the rubble, making sure no one was looking. He brushed the rocks aside, and to his surprise, found an ancient holocron. He knew the difference between a datacron and a holocron, and was sure that it was the latter. He quickly pocketed the item, and headed back for his camp. Upon arrival, he told his men to pack up. They were going back to the fleet.
