Description: The every-man's probe droid, the Cyclops is durable, cheep, and easy to customize while offering solid all around performance. The downside being that its rather limited in versatility, relying instead on equipment slots allowing the user to equip mission-specific equipment or sensors purchased as needed. These slots are located in the protruding pyramids on its body that house the holo-camera and droid's brain.

A base-line model includes a holo-camera, enough memory for several day's footage, a simple projector for review that can double as a flashlight, basic sensor package, and a computer interface. If connected to a comm line it can send and receive calls and is intelligent enough to follow simple orders. During set-up, the user can choose between a bubbly child-friendly personality or a more serious one that an adult might prefer. They each communicate through beeps and whistles much like an astromech droid.

Each upgrade package increases the base-line performance of the Cyclops and includes any necessary programming or processor expansion required to use it. This does not make it a super droid however and most packages don't take it above what any basic civilian gear would be able to do. As such the hacking of the computer probe is limited along with the encryption on the comlink. As such this is far from an infiltration droid. However its ability to navigate deteriorated systems, search out lifeforms, and map areas makes it invaluable for the explorer in a cave or derelict ship as several of its modulus excel in seeking out such things.
The packages include...
  • A vocabulator
  • Sonic probe
  • Holo-probe
  • Computer probe
  • Identity probe
  • Motion and acoustic sensors
  • Sonar mapper
  • Thermal Imaging
  • Penetrating radar
  • Metallurgy detector
  • Geological surveyor
  • Plasma cutter
  • Folding knife
  • Air & radiation tester
