STRENGTHS

• A Jedi Pilot's Best Friend: Is built for and well-equipped to maintain and repair starships, and can also fly them on it's own if need be.
• All Terrain: Can travel easily across all terrain, and is rugged enough to survive in all enviroments
• Shield Generator!: Is equipped with a portable bubble shield, allowing it to protect itself, and about two other human sized creatures within it's range.
• Storage, for all your various needs: Built with jedi in mind, the D1 series was designed with several open storage compartments and comes equipped with a slot specifically designed to hold a lightsabers, blaster pistols, or any other small implements, for more undercover missions.
• Tough SOB: Given it's Duranium outer plating, the droid is designed for the high risk missions of jedi knights and masters, thus was designed to tank quite the beating before it becomes non-functional.

WEAKNESSES

• Bleep Bloop: Can only speak through binary or via a computer system
• Limited Power Supply: Between its various functions, and the purpose built Heavy Duty shield generator, the droid has a habit of overextending its power supply. Any extended use of its more complicated functions will drain the droid's battery quite fast, leaving it dead in the water until it's able to be recharged. The Shield especially drains the battery and as a result only can last up to five minutes at full power.
• Weaponless: Despite Si Tech's upgrades, the D1 Plus is still lacking any form of firepower.

DESCRIPTION
Designed by the former Automata Galactica during the height of the Great Sith War, the D1 series was purpose built to function alongside jedi as part of the fight against the Sith Empire. Designed to be an all-purpose companion to the Knights of the Old Republic, the D1 was heralded as a wonder of it's time. Sadly, when the war ended, the D1 series was discontinued as an effort to demobilize the jedi as a way to cool tensions between planets. Few remain in service today, and with the merger between Automata Galactica and Industrial Intellegence, many fell in disrepair as the new company, Industrial Automation, stopped production on many of the older parts that kept the droids going.

The long forgotten license was purchased by Si Tech, and production was resumed on parts. With Si Tech thriving in the Galactic Alliance, the company thought to invest in Astromechs, letting their lead designer Rara Gowasi upgrade the model as best she could.

"It was already a solid design, to be honest. I just added on some bits and bobs."
