The Heir
It was a bizarre series of events, to say the least. That was about all Malum could think, as next to him, his cousin stood, clearly going through a rough blend of intrigued, confusion, and even humour, as he drew forth his blades, and prepared to... well...
Prepared to what exactly, was indeed an open question, for within seconds, what had been a curious offer that he wrestled with accepting, had turned into his cousin interrupting to... well, he still honestly could not really state with any true belief what was going on. Madness? Or did simply Alicia Drey 's mind work on some level that he could not possibly comprehend?
Indeed, he supposed, that was what madness was.
As her speech concluded, as with a hiss her blade was drawn forth free, as she advanced upon her own agents, none the wiser.
He simply raised a hand, to all his forces behind him.
The eerie white light revealed all the Imperial forces to them all.
He gave silent command, to halt. A perfect opportunity to attack the Imperials this might have been, but their manifest purpose here was to negotiate, if the Imperials were to fight in front of them, that was their conflict, he would not unnecessarily damage his own honour by breaking those simple rules of diplomacy.
Still, now he watched, he did not view this slaughter of her own forces to be any specific show of loyalty. Indeed, would they have not been better served none the wiser to her true apparent loyalties, and been continuing willing foot soldiers for a cause they did not know had been hijacked and turned against them?
That was certainly a delicious form of vengeance.
Alas, though that may have been his opinion, this did prove one thing... killing her own forces.
Unless this was very well hidden, she would not be welcome back amongst her own. In that sense, joining in this maddened slaughter would have made sense, to maintain her position as Staff Director for his benefit, with all of them knowing what exactly she had done, that she had no other options.
However, if she wished to tie this noose, he would not assist, even if he would not stop her.
Malum smirked, raising his hands to shrug, as his red eyes glimmered against the newly lightened area, "It is as you say, Lady Drey, they have fallen right into your trap... do as you wish to your former subordinates, and it will have proven to me much, proven... that you would be a boon to the Tsis'Kaar," One kept at a distance, one who could never truly be trusted... but... one that was certainly of use, if she could wield the NISB in the ways that would be to his interest, to the Sith's interest.
"Show me the way of the Sith, for clearly, this is a lesson I would be remiss to miss." His eyes narrowed to the narrowest of margins, her words spoke of things far beyond mortal kin, but if this performance was truly just that, or something grander, or even if it was to their benefit, or someone else's, he could not quite say.
