The Anzati stood like an unmoving statue as he held his ground, arms at his sides as if inviting the Jedi to come and strike him, confident that the Jedi vermin confronting him was merely that; a rat who scurried away at the first sign of danger, sticking to the shadows to avoid being exterminated. The city continued to burn as both military and civilian alike perished in the crossfire that followed wherever the Jedi and Sith clashed. This was a war that the Jedi would always lose as far as purpose and morals went. It just further extrapolated the ineptitude of the Jedi as well as their resolve. They touted themselves as warriors of light and peace, but there was no light or peace; simply chaos and destruction. They were no better than Sith in the many engagements Vexen bore witness to.
Vexen continued to wait for the Jedi to reveal his next move, seemingly expectant that they might try something new that Vexen had never seen in his hundreds of years of active existence; even if such a possibility was slim and an immeasurable achievement in and of itself. His vocoded voice boomed, rich with arrogance and pride as he taunted the Jedi " Where is your peace and tranquility now Jedi? Your city burns, your people weep as the cries of the dead and dying all scream out in pain, begging for mercy and salvation. Yet you ignore them, instead choosing to face an enemy you could never hope to defeat...Sacrificing the lives of many for the life of one. " Vexen's statement would soon be interrupted by Morga attempting to strike at him. Vexen's free hand would come up as his armored gauntlet grabbed the bright blue blade of the lightsaber with no issue due to how it was made while Vexen muttered quietly enough for Morga to hear, " How pathetic... " Vexen raised his saber up, ready to strike down the Jedi who had locked himself in killing range only to realize that Morga was attempting something.
It would take a moment for Vexen to fully realize what the Jedi was plotting as the ground beneath their feet fractured and crumbled, causing the Sith General to release his grip on Morga's blade as they both plummeted into the darkness of the sewers below. The two would separate in the fall as Vexen did his best to reorient himself using the Force to try and levitate down. A piece of rather hefty rubble would impact his shoulder as he grunted, stumbling forward slightly as the underlying gel layer beneath his armor took the brunt of the force. The Anzati warrior would soon recompose himself as he stood up, searching for Wyatt in the darkness as his voice echoed off the walls. " So this is where you choose to die Jedi? In the dark sewers, waiting to rot away into nothing? A fitting tomb for a rodent like you. " The crimson blade of the Sith's lightsaber would ignite, revealing himself once he spotted the Jedi. " Come...Know and face despair. No more tricks. No more hiding... "

In the space above Kintan, the Vice Admiral that commanded Gehenna would observe, stroking his bearded chin as his subordinates reported the situation on the ground. It seemed the Jedi's temporarily erected shield was doing a rather stand-up job of handling their orbital strike. Impressive, but it would not be able to hold forever, especially not once the ground forces had taken the position by force. An officer would call out from his station, " Sir, scanners indicate the enemy have targeted our Interdictors. The Flauros and Vapula have reported incoming missiles. " The Vice Admiral cocked an eyebrow as he seemed quizzical. " Missiles? At this range? They must have gone mad... No matter. Temporarily divert cannons and countermeasures to intercept them. We'll entertain their notion of hope a little while as they exhaust their resources trying to hit us. " The shield boosted Vapula and Flauros would maintain their position, as the cannons of the fleet were instead directed to the missiles being fired from the surface, shooting them down in a hail of lasers with relative ease long before they could even get close, dotting the skies above Kintan with large explosions.
Meanwhile, on the surface below, captured civilians continued to get funneled into the Sith held Arena, being offered shelter from the battle, unaware of the dangers that loomed above them all. Patrols of the Ravager Batallion around the arena were sufficient enough to prevent the enemy's forces from taking back the civilians under their watch; they did serve as effective meat shields after all against those who were compassionate. Perhaps not so much for the commanders of the Jedi who instead would drop bombs indiscriminately across the entire city in an attempt to stop their forces. Regardless, it would reveal its true purpose in time. Despite the Jedi's belief that they had the situation under control, they were far from it and the casualties would simply grow as the battle continued.
