Racing across Kintan towards the ongoing battle at Fortress Kh'aris, Ven meditated silently aboard his ship. He could feel the hand of evil clutching tight around the planet. The imperial war machine was methodical in its approach to conquering the galaxy. Like dominoes, planets fell one after another to the might of the Sith Empire. Few factions within the galaxy could contest his father's forces like the Silver Jedi Order could, but things were spiraling out of control. His assassin droid maintained an open feed to allow its master to track the chaos as the battle played out. With each passing second, it grew harder to make sense of the ebb and flow, but the Jedi master's meditation aided in sifting through even the smallest detail. No piece of information reported slipped past him with the help of both the force and the droid. A vivid mental picture began to take form within Ven's mind.

"H, patch me through to the master in charge of the fortress's defense, I require further information before we engage," Ven stood and moved beside the droid. One hand moved to sort the bits and pieces of information holographically projected before him.

"There is no master, sir."

"Odd choice, very well, put me through to the highest-ranking Jedi."

"I have a select group of padawan learners available, sir."

"Hmm," Ven turned away and peered out to the world before him. Kintan passed by in a blur as he and the droid soared dozens of feet above the surface. "No wonder the defense is shattering, no one competent is manning it. Anything else you care to report?"

"Apparently, one of the SJO commanders ordered a strike on the fortress. It is completely leveled and a number of our men are trapped," the droid spoke the words devoid of emotion, which often left its master somewhat perturbed.

"Very well," Ven stepped away from the droid and paced several steps away. "Open up a secure line between the children and me, afterward fetch the rest of my armor," he looked down at his hands and released a sigh. Months were lost searching his various hideaways and weapon caches for his spare battle armor. He eventually made his way home to Panatha and liberated his belongings from his family's tyrannical rule, but it took more time than he would've liked. The halfbreed wanted to be on the frontline taking the fight to his father, not playing hide and seek with fragmented memory.

"Master, the line has been established. I've identified the trapped apprentices as Kyra, Kat, and Acaadia."

"Good," the Jedi activated the communicator on the terminal beside the droid and cleared his throat. "Greetings, this is Ven. I am en route to your position. If you can hear me, I am a few minutes out. Do not lose hope, the force is with you. Soon enough, I will be too."

With that, Ven turned away once more and stepped away from the terminal. He raised his arms to allow the droid to begin its work. Piece bt piece, his armor was fitted and prepared for the coming assault. It still felt familiar to the rogue Sith Lord, as if he had only worn it to Mandalore days prior. The bloodlust and anticipation to face the Sith rose within him once again, but he quelled it quickly enough. He would not fall to the temptations of the dark side this day. There was a battle to be won.

The Sith grew rampant with their philosophy, as though they informed Wyatt of something a thousand Sith before her hadn’t - harsh as those truths were, Wyatt couldn’t help but categorize her with the others. Almost ever Sith he fought revolved around this - Dun Moch some called it, but it never was to get under his skin - or failed to at the very least. He couldn’t help but hear her words differently…
She was rectifying her choice. Rationalizing all the pain she had wrought. This was a cry for help - as it was a thousand times before.
To live is to suffer. To be sensitive to the Force is sacrifice.”, he said as he closed his eyes -
The debilitating miasma would have destroyed anyone else; ruined their ability to sense the realm about them, but Wyatt had fought in worse conditions - Dueling the Sith Emperor is single combat while a Phobis Device progressively wore away his sanity; a dreaded device that had turned a dangerous amount of Sith insane - and while he could feel that darkness drown his senses, it paled in comparison.
The Jedi do not run from suffering -”, he said as the blade tore through the darkness only to meet his blue in a shattering blade lock that bathed the miasma in a raw purple.
- Nor do I.”, he offered as the blade let go.
Another strike, and he blocked it again;
It defines us - but is what we do with suffering that defines who we are.”, he idled as his own blade struck out into the fog - only to miss any target. Were it not for that zen, he could have almost sighed at his failure to hit a target. He could sense where her blade was coming from, glancing moments into the future - but he couldn’t use that offensively to nearly the same degree.
While I meditate, find peace with what I’ve done and what has been done to me-”, he said as the blade struck through the darkness and his once again met it.
- you revel in, dwell on that which hurts to move forward. Corrupted…”, Once again the blades separated.
On the contrary, I don’t believe in your freedom, Sith.”, he said as he looked about him in the Force - but only saw that thick fog.
You’re a slave to your suffering, crippled by its corruption. You can’t help but spread that pain - further and further, dragging others to that dark place so you don’t feel so alone.”
He waved his blade in front of him, as if to light his way - despite his eyes closed.
And yet… I forgive you. For how you feel, for what you do with it - Know, Sith, that there is always forgiveness in my heart for you. I’m sorry for your past, for what happened… but you don’t need to spread it further to be free.”
And he waited, for the inevitable strike - but a quiet hope in his mind hoped to redeem her, bring her to the Light for her own sake. To make her able to be happy, as he is; as she could be.

Jerek Morrows

A Jedi's Life is Sacrifice.
Location: Well, it was a fort.
Allies: Jedi
Enemies: Sith
Not sure anymore: Kiff Brayde Kiff Brayde

Everything blurred.

It wasn't the frigid sensation of permeable darkness, not anymore. The acrid, pungent flavor of munitions as they ignited passed over his tongue. Jerek grimaced when the world around him rocked. Sith or Jedi, it made no matter because now the entire Fort was consumed by disaster and panic.

The Shadow felt the mild panic that danger normally manifested as quickly mount into horror. Impact tore the structure in front of him, biting massive chunks with each subsequent blast. Just out of reach, the floor suddenly ceased to exist as it was blown away. Debris peppered his face and he only just managed to avoid a large chunk of the foundation as it rocketed through the space he occupied only seconds before.

Another blast robbed him of his footing, and the hallway was no more.

Freefalling toward the ground floor, Jerek took a deep breath. So much chaos, overflowing emotion, and the gravity of lost lives threatened to consume his thoughts. Was he going to die?

If I die, then what?

Hush, Arik. You made peace with death long ago.

The Shadow closed his eyes for a moment and exhaled. Everything left his mind as he focused entirely on his duty, and what was left to be done. There were still younglings, unknighted Padawans left in the Fort. They were faced with an enemy they could not hope to match.

I can't die yet. There are people who need me.

His fingers stretched out and kissed a patch of wall and rebar, still miraculously standing but only just. The Force moved around him, and for that instant, he moved as though weightless.

His feet touched the wall, and he ran along it. He ran, and ran, until he was on the ground.

When his eyes reopened, he did not know where he was bound.

Only that he was going.

"We wait for the full force and advance with them. I'm not having this fool and his blind followers get themselves killed...again."

The words were spoken with a true desire for the calmer outcome, as with most things uttered by the Devil Lion who was, by his very nature, an extremely cautious individual. But Lorale, in all his blooded glory, was rarely one to pass up a good and proper fight when he had entered the state of mind he was in that day. And when his vision cleared after the walls and the gate and general structure of the fortress fell under the stress of battle, he moved with a singular purpose designed in a factory of war.

His steps were droid like and uniform, his eyes cold and lifeless yet full of hateful intent, and his pale-lipped mouth curved into a sickening smile that could shrivel a springtime sun. In those moments that followed his entrance into the fortress, wherein dozens of soldiers awaited their death, he was a machine, a fleshy automaton built for the shedding of crimson and the severing of legacies.

Upon the field of battle within the once safe and secure walls of Kh'aris, the Wolf of Noxis swung his blade with a purpose once throttled into submission, once replaced by the need of leadership and the commanding of forces. In this war, he felt free, even as Kascalion and Xan ran after him to ensure he did not enter the full-berserker state of which he developed so emphatically in his younger years.

"Lorale!" his brother called out to him as the Pirekead and Imperials began to swarm the Fortress amidst the barrage of artillery still striking the stone and metal holding structure. "We are here to conquer, not mindlessly slay."

"Slaying fools who oppose us...that is what a true warrior does, is it not?" Lorale grunted as he removed the tip of his blade, which had yet to activate its true power, from the gullet of a man barely out of his teen years. The man, or rather the boy fell back silently clutching his throat while Kascalion looked on unimpressed.

"Slaying children is not what warriors do, Lorale! Especially warriors of our people," the Devil Lion shouted as he casually lifted a charging woman and threw her back into the western walls. "You serve as the leader of the Koignalteth. The Avatar of Typhon. I will not have you fall to this...this barbarism."

Another sideways slash spilled the innards of three before the Icebound Monarch swung his body to meet the gaze of his brother, "They fight us and challenge the sanctity of salvation that we Sith offer them, so we, in turn, fight them. We conquer them. We slay them! Such is the way of war, Kascalion. Such is the way of the Sith. Even our people follow this simple understanding. Where is the fault in it? You yourself slay dozens of acolytes seeking your training simply because they failed your standards. Who are you to speak to me of morality upon the field of battle? With a name such as the Devil Lion, one would assume you'd understand!"

A shattering of slugs against his plated back drew the attention of Lorale back to the battle, marching away from his brother who simply incapacitated those that targeted him whilst Xan aided in leading the forces into the fortress proper, intent on ending the battle, and thus her brother's rampage, as quickly as possible.

Perspiration dotted Lanik’s forehead. The Jedi’s mud and blood coated hair matted down and slicked back. In the distance more explosions illuminated the sky, pillars of smoke rising to blot out the light of Kintan’s primary. Chest rising and falling, the padawan stared across the trenches, eyes locked with the visor of the officer. How the Jedi wished to know just what sort of individual lurked beneath the helmet. To have the will to fight on in spite of a shattered knee, to push on to the point of willing to fight to the death. Did they truly fear the Sith that much or was it out of a sense of duty? What drove them? For the Jedi it was the light, the hope to preserve life and aid the sentients of the galaxy. It almost made the Jedi feel sorry for what he knew was to come. With a thought, the shield upon his left arm withdrew into the confines of his gauntlet.

The thunderous cacophony of cannons still fired, beams of energy stitched the air above the trenches as militiamen and troopers still went head to head. In the distance, the padawan could even feel the darkness rising. The temperature around the two suddenly dipped, Lanik’s breath now visible. At the heart of that darkness, he could feel the beacon of light. It was Master Morga, and whether or not he needed the padawan Lanik knew he had to be there.

Eyes settling once more to the officer, the Jedi centered himself. The force brought him to the center of the universe, in these moments no longer was he Lanik. He was a simple eddy in the river that was the force. It flowed through him without any interference. Giving himself over Lanik let the flow guide him. Lanik felt the mystical energies bind around his left leg tighten, strengthening itself. The pain lessening to nothing more than a dull throbbing sensation. The step carried Lanik to the outside of the officer on their left side.

Lanik need not look down to see the vibroblade that had ejected itself from the officer’s gauntlet. In a way, through the force, Lanik was the gauntlet. He could feel its humming, the thirst for blood as it sought to sate itself with the life ichor of another Jedi. The padawan’s left hand lashed out to grab and twist the limb while his right arm snaked around the officer’s arm, right in the crook of his elbow. What was commonly known as a double wrist lock. Dropping his weight Lanik planned on using both his own and the officer’s weight to dislocate and shatter the limb.

K O R _ V E X E N

| Location | New Kalandra, Kintan
| Objective | Raze the Capital
Far above the battlefield, the Ajunta class Star Fortresses loomed; finalizing targets for bombing as the crew onboard began the sequence for deployment. A warning klaxon would start to blare as targets on the ground began to attempt to shoot the star fortresses down. A feeble attempt considering how heavily defended they were with three separate layers of shielding on top of anti-missile countermeasures. As the missiles approached, defensive countermeasures would be deployed as well as the laser cannons equipped to the vessel began to fire to shoot down approaching missiles. Many would either be shot down or diverted by flares while the few that did manage to get through exploded against the shields. One of the Ajuntas would take a few hits too many as it was overwhelmed by missiles due to lack of missiles being stopped that were targeting it. The shields would get breached as a missile got through, exploding against the hull as the Ajunta started to shift off to the side, of course as it began to trail smoke and lose altitude. The other Ajuntas remained steady as they opened their deployment bays as they began to drop Avanced Spread Proton Bombs to the surface below, targeting defensive positions and marked anti-air emplacements, deploying a carpet bombing run to clear path for ground troops to advance while further softening the Silver Jedi's defensive positions.
The next wave of troop transports and shuttles would descend as the bombs fell, escorted by a fresh wave of fighters and bombers that were busy dividing the anti-air fire and engaging any ships that might be in the air attempting to contest the skies. A mixture of SI/AIT transports and LAHATs flew towards the surface ferrying additional reinforcements to aid in overwhelming the Silver Jedi's crumbling defenses, of which the situation was not being helped by much with the Silver Jedi's allies having turned their cannons on the fortress; their one defensible position that remained that could feasibly stave off the invading troops for a time was now being reduced to ruin by their own tanks. Time and time again, whenever the Sith clashed with the Light and its allies, there always seemed to be confusion and conflicting ways of handling the situation, a flaw that the Sith easily took advantage of as their only goal and purpose in any attack was the utter annihilation of their enemies. In the end, all would be destroyed and the wrath of the Sith felt striking their very core.
While the LAHATs waved off from the wave of shuttles making for the city, opting to land in the safety of their established staging grounds to deploy additional artillery units to the battlefield, the SI/AITs laden with troops from the Ravager Batallion seemed to make a beeline straight for the city, the transports taking several hits from the AA-Emplacements but carrying through due to their shields taking the brunt of the attacks. Several would touch down just ahead of the first wave of advancing troops, reinforcing numbers that might have been reduced by the enemy's defenses chipping away at them as troopers clad in red armor piled out, basic infantry units of the Ravager Batallion supplementing their numbers for an aggressive push into the city, filled with resolve and unfazed by what the Jedi would throw at them.
---
A handful of transports continued to fly further towards the retreating enemy's lines, the interiors dimly lit to reveal the Dragoons and Nightseers housed inside. A voice would crackle over the intercom as the pilot addressed the troopers inside, " We're coming in hot so expect a lot of angry saps to be shooting as soon as you hit the ground. Light is green, go, go, go! " The single red light inside the bay would turn green as their rear disembarkation ramps lowered. Shimmers and flashes of black and red could be seen leaping out of the rear of the transports that flew close to the city's rooftops where mortar and sniper teams would be perched. A transport's wing would explode as it was clipped by enemy fire and spiraled out of control, crashing into a building as the structure began to crumple and fall, crashing down on a pathway that got in the way of fleeing Jedi troops.
A Dragoon would fly with grace using his thrusterpack to an open rooftop where a mortar team was busy trying to recover from a transport having strafed their position as they were flying by. One of the mortar team members would look up just in time for an armored, jet-powered knee to be sent straight into his skull, crushing it with little effort as the lifeless body served as a cushion for the Dragoon who used it to soften his landing, raising his IL-41D ICWS as he quickly executed the remaining members of the mortar team in a quick and orderly fashion. The last remaining member had managed to pull out his sidearm and fired in panic at the Dragoon whose Xythan shields simply swallowed the bolts as he raised his blaster and sent a single round through the man's forehead, leaving a smoldering hole where his brain was.
In a neighboring building, a sniper would take notice to troops being deployed further inside the city, shifting his aim towards the Dragoon that took out a mortar team as he was ready to blast the Sith soldier before he had a chance to rendezvous with the others and then report in to warn friendly Jedi forces in the area of additional enemy troops inside of the city. Unknown to the sniper however was a ghostly distortion creeping silently behind him, and it wasn't until he saw an odd rippling cover his scope that he realized too late what was going on. A semi-visible hand reached out and grabbed the man suddenly from behind, snapping the sniper's neck as the body fell to the ground, the form of a Nightseer seeming to ripple into existence as their cloak field disengaged. The Dragoon would look over from his rooftop as he gave the Nightseer a nod before he turned and took off to go aid in harassing the enemy's retreat while the Nightseer seemed to fade away from existence to capture civilians being escorted by the enemy.
---
Vexen's shuttle would soon arrive on the ground as the Sith General stepped out, accompanied by several of his Dragoons. A squad of retreating soldiers had taken up positions nearby when they spotted the shuttle, hoping to intercept enemy reinforcements. Unfortunately, they chose the wrong enemy to intercept as the Sith General came into their view. They'd pause as Vexen turned to his Dragoons and ordered them to neutralize any enemy troops protecting or evacuating. The Dragoons would nod as they moved off, leaving the Sith General alone as he began to step through the burning and demolished buildings. One of the soldiers hiding in the building would take aim at the Sith General's back, squeezing the trigger as a burst of blaster bolts flew at him. To the enemy's surprise, their blaster bolts would strike an invisible shield as Vexen turned to the direction of the fire, raising his hand as the trooper was ripped from his perch by an invisible hand that sent him flying across the street and shortly impaled on a trio of exposed rebar that held the now dead soldier up like a grotesque scarecrow. The other troopers would open fire as Vexen's lightsaber flew into his hand and ignited, its crimson blade flashing to life as its ominous hum was heard, deflecting blaster bolts with ease as he sent one right back into the face of one trooper. Vexen raised his free hand as he lifted a twisted piece of metal from the street, flinging it with the Force directly at the face of another soldier whose body soon fell limp and fell forward, headless.
The troopers would fall one by one until finally only two remained. Vexen would reach out with the Force as he choked both of them and lifted them off the ground and into the open, shortly sending his lightsaber flying out as it bisected both of them, freeing their torso from their legs as he let the bits drop to the ground. Vexen would stow his saber as he raised his palm and activated his communications, " Tavlar, report... "

Location: Streets of Kahsjkahsjdh (spelling?)
Objective: Evac civilians

The streets were littered with chaos. It buffered against Elise's mind, riddled her senses. She took a deep breath and gave a civilian a tight smile, gesturing they press themselves back against the wall she had guided them to.

SJO had done what it could to remove civilians from the war zone before the arrival of the sith; the evac area remained bustling with civilians waiting desperately for their turn on a ship out. A temporary shield generator would grant them a small respite over orbital attacks, but it would do them no good if they couldn't reach there first. She had spent hours herding families out, but even now Elise was still picking up stragglers through the desolate street. A group of 20 followed behind her like lost little ducklings. She needed to get them to the evac shuttles without any casualties, but up ahead she could feel the presence of sith soldiers pressing deeper in.

She peered over the corner of a wall, observing the group of eight. Karina Lowe

Behind her, a baby cried. The group of haggard men and woman all tensed, their eyes wide and wild as they turned on the mother swaddling a bloodstained bundle.

"SHHHH," urged one man.

Elise glanced backwards, her expression pinching as she raised a hand. With a tug of the force, she urged the infant back into a deep, blissful sleep.

It fell silent, its eyes growing heavy. Every civilian stared at the tiring thing with palatable fear. The tension in the group slowly dispersed as the babe fell into a peaceful sleep.

The mother's eyes caught hers, tearful and appreciative.

Elise nodded.

"We must keep moving. On my leave, you will run across the street and don't look back. You know where the shuttle pad is?" She asked a younger man in blue. He nodded, fear lines pinched around his mouth.

"Good. You will keep guiding them," She told him, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. He swallowed hard, his posture straightening. She smiled in approval, turning to address them all.

"Are you ready?"

"And now pathetic Jedi you will die-"

Kaboom!

The Sith Knight's chest exploded outwards in a sickening cloud of gore. His killer didn't even glance down at the grievously wounded Jedi, racking a nasty looking combat scattergun.

"Dank ferrik!" Kingsley half-sobbed, eyes roaming frantically for any sign of Imperial Legionnaires, "Dank ferrik! Dank ferrik! Dank ferrik!"

He kept running.

It was supposed to be a simple job. Get in. Get out. Get rich. Nothing about this was simple. The Sith Empire was trying to kill him again. He must have really pissed off Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex somehow. Worst of all the bank he planned to rob had been leveled by carpet bombing which meant he wasn't even getting paid.

Kingsley gunned down a few more targets of opportunity before catching sight of his stolen Lambda shuttle. It looked like it was still intact. Maybe the galaxy's handsomest and most successful smuggler was going to make it out of this after all.

Fear was all it took for most. The Sith were not a gentle ruling class and there was little patience for the Legionnaires among its ranks who truly failed them. Tavlar was well past this. His fear had long been inoculated by countless scrapes with his own mortality, the blinding rush and deafening terror of warfare all but crucifying his fear of death.

The crack and popping of bone sounded out as soon as the Jedi locked and twisted his arm, The General sounding out yet another harsh, drawn out groan of pain through clenched teeth. The ware on his body required repair and quickly. But that could wait, stimulants would have to fill the gap. With his free arm he quickly forced the helmet from his head, the vacuum seal audibly hissing as he sought to bash it over the Jedi's head harshly.

The piece of armor sent rolling through the mud as he forced a stimulant into his throat, eventually bringing his freed hand up, clicking free the knuckle vibro knife before slamming it into the side of Lanik's abdomen, using it as momentum to force his weight against his, relieving the intense pressure of the wrist lock onto the mud even as it threatened to jolt the bones in his arm out of place. Able to press both feet into the mud as his pain was largely numbed by the stimulant he sought to press Lanik unto his back with a fierce push, heaving heavy breathes as he sought to fight through the strained and damaged muscles and bones of his adjacent arm and leg.

Weakened and fatigued the shot of stimulant granted him a second wind, sending a surge of essential adrenaline through him as he musters every fiber to pin Lanik onto his back, clicking free the vibroblade in his right hand he retracts it before sending a downward, armored elbow into the side of Lanik's skull. Despite momentarily gaining control back, he is in a deeply vulnerable position, though able to avoid trapping himself in the Jedi's guard as his body is laid out from the side over his. His left arm all but disabled he attempts to press that elbow against the Jedi's throat.

With his helmet thrown aside the identity could now be unearthed by the Jedi. Though perhaps, suprisingly he was as mundane as he was. His face matched none of the holo-archives of any particularly feared Sith commanders nor did it spell any sign of corruption from the dark side. Merely a man, a trooper fulfilling his orders, doing his duty and above all fighting to stay alive. With gritted teeth he peered into Lanik's eyes with a frigid, stoic gaze set in a pale gaze marred by blaster burns, gunnery flashes and shrapnel lacerations he matched his station well enough. A killer though evidently not cut from the same cloth as his Sith masters.

With many of the defenses of New Kalandra broken through from the Northern front disembarked armored infantry were able to sweep the streets with heavily armored escort eventually linking with the invasion force of Kor Vexen. On time and in force, the 12th Armored Assault Army broke through its objective and its batteries still rained hellfire unto what was left of the objectives. However, the attempt to communicate with the Major General went cold. The other side of his comms sounding out in dead air with the faint crack and shatter of artillery, blaster fire and lightsabers clashing all barely audible from Tavlar's end of communication.

The plan and doctrine he'd laid out for his Legion worked to all the requirements the Lord General set to him but in its wake, he had failed to report. As far as the Lord General was concerned, his subordinate had failed to report. Whether he was dead, missing or overcome with an inexplicable spell of defiance was unclear. An eerie, barely audible ambience of battle all their was to work from.

“Why won’t you just yield? I don’t want to push this any further.” Lanik grunted through his teeth looking down at the back of the soldier’s head. The helmet finally coming free to reveal a head of gray. Their skin was far too tan to be an Arkanian, Lanik had experienced a run in with one of their race. No, this man was human. Simply an older one. So interested in the figure Lanik barely noticed the helmet that sought to slam into the crown of his skull. Head leaning slightly to the side he caught the piece of armor to the side of his ear.

Head spinning Lanik felt a sudden warmth from his abdomen. If it had been any further back it would’ve struck his kidney’s. Wincing the Jedi found himself pushed back into the mud. His mouth hanging open as he tried to gather himself once more. Tried to find his balance in the force, the precarious balance that had been so easily shattered. That was the difference between Lanik and a more skilled Jedi. His balance had been lost after a single distraction whereas other’s could keep it amidst a battlefield on the coldest parts of Hoth.

Trying to breathe Lanik was rewarded for his efforts with an armored elbow to the side of his head. A fresh wound opening and more blood lost. The officer had dealt nearly as much damage as the Arkanian Jedi, Lanik had once fought.Soon enough his air cut off by the soldier’s elbow pushing into his throat. Looking up past the limb, to the soldier Lanik’s blue eyes met their green ones. There was no sympathy, no mercy behind that stone-cold gaze. Only the promise of battle and death. Lanik’s, on the other hand, carried nothing but pity and sorrow. He wished to speak words of apology but those were also cut off by the pressure on his airways.

Left-arm coming up, Lanik reached out to his gauntlet with the force. In an instant, the gold aspis sprung to life once more. The golden plasmatic edges came around to bite directly into the shoulder of the officer. Much like a lightsaber the weapon was made for dismemberment, it was never a first option to maim, nor kill a foe but the battle had gone on too long. Had become too costly and Lanik’s penchant for mercy would end up with him dead. Only weeks prior he’d been left bleeding in the forests of Kuat due to fighting another Jedi.

There was no apology that could be offered to one, once maimed, you in a way disfigured them for life. While they could get a new prosthetic limb it would never be the flesh and blood they’d grown with.

Finally reinforcements had come, and Mandos at that, quite a surprise since for the longest time they had been puppets of the Sith. Not a few months ago they were attacking Jedi positions but now they came to help. In another time she'd ponder such actions more but right now she had to focus right on the enemy ship in front, more so as the incoming energy readings from the craft were going through the roof. "Evasive maneuvers, get us out of the line of fire"!

There was no real way to fully avoid the massive incoming bream but at the very least she could lessen the damage to the craft, it acted as their main carrier she couldn't afford to lose it right now. "Brace for impact"! The entire bridge shuddered and rocked like and earthquake as the solar beam impacted onto the Tatsuta's left side, alarms and damage reports flooding all her sensors at once.

"Karking dammit that thing packs a punch, scramble damage crews and shore up any breaches in the hull, what are our weapon like"? The bridge crew scrambled back to their seats as the orders were given out. "Rail guns and our other long range weapons in the middle are still online but most of our port side weapons are done for". A small sigh escaped Kiso mouth, she was lucky the Chernobog class stationed most of it's heavy weapons on the dorsal and underside of the ship, the Tatsuta was still in the fight, but another hit like that would bring it down, but once more she couldn't think of that, now was the time for action.

Another wave of warnings and other status reports flooding in as the rest of the Sith fleets began to fire with a overwhelming force, what felt like millions of turbo lasers and other projectiles slamming into each ship. “Great, outnumbered and out gunned... we can’t stay here, all engines full back, well stay as long as we can but if things get dicy we may need to withdraw”. The smaller frigates would return what small fire they could along with the aulixary weapons on the other star destroyers as they started to pull back. They wee in a rough situation, no doubt the Sith had more fighter squadrons then her, so an attack run on their small ships wasn’t an option and most were still covering the escort ships, her only real option was to make a fightgin retreat and hold off until help arrived but so far that didn’t look likely.

Still as if sine was going to take the beating laying down, her ships still had a few tricks up their sleeve. “If they want to use solar cannon we can oblige, have the rail guns continued to bombard those long bows and have our own solar cannons open up on them too". With the Sith ships approaching their formation was at the point the rest of the Tasutas long range weapons could be put into use, even if some of them were offline. Pulling the craft back into a level position it once again opened up on the long bows, this time with it's Solar Ionization cannons and smaller rail guns.

Fleet Action
Tatsuta takes a port side hit, kocking out most of its port side plazma machine guns and other anti star fighter weapons, along with a few longer range batteires.
Fleets begins to make a fighting retreat to mitigate the weapons from the other Sith ships
Kuma and Nagato open fire on Tormentor Destoyers
Tatsuta resumae bombardment on longbow craft with Oscar cannons and other long range weapons

The battle raged outside the heavily armoured Repulsortank, with Jedi and Sith forces fighting ferociously to control the trenches which encircled New Kalandra. Cowering inside and wondering for the countless time why he was here, Aerarii watched the holo feed of the events unfolding around him. Explosions, blaster bolts and lightsabre flashes made for a deadly yet hauntingly beautiful display.

“Sir, the city walls have been breached.”

A fresh bead of sweat formed on the bureaucrat’s brow. He’d said that the team would move into the embattled city once the walls fell, and now it was time. The scales in his mind, balanced between fear for his life and the possibility of glory, leaned only slightly toward grabbing this opportunity. Aerarii looked at one of the nearby seal Treasury crates and ran the numbers through his head. It would be enough to get him off Kintan and away to a fresh life, even once he paid off the four Legionnaires who were accompanying still.

However, the contents of the sealed contained paled next to the earnings potential further promotions though the Sith Treasury would bring. With a deep breath he rose and walked to the doorway which linked the cargo section he was sheltering in to Repulsortank’s command cabin.

“Take us in corporal. Make all raise to the first waypoint.”

The Treasurer-General returned to the cargo compartment and strapped himself into a seat. The Repulsortank fell in behind the main armoured spearhead, before peeling off once inside the city and making its way down quiet streets away from the main battle. On the holocam he saw General Tavlar, who was valiantly fighting a Jedi, go down.

Small-arms blaster bolts pinged off their heavy shields as the Repulsortank crawled toward its objective, with the vehicles two Legionnaire gunners returning fire. “Yeah, get some!” “What the frak, enemy mortars are exploding in mid-air!?” “Get that guy on the left!” Aerarii tightened the straps on his helmet and armoured chest guard, feeling them starting to crush his lithe frame but preferring the certainty that he was protected.

“Sir, two minutes to checkpoint.”

Aerarii groaned, tilted his head back and closed his eyes. What was he doing out here?

It was the briefest moment in time that saw his attention diverted to the three Jedi located on either side of him, their reunion ended by his presence between them. It was as if one could hear the wheels of fate turning that brought their paths together and foretold the end of the young Jedi's lives the moment they crossed paths with the Sith Emperor and his Shadow Hand. No matter how many Jedi approached them they were all horrifically outclassed by the two Sith Lords before them, a pair perfectly in sync with every action they took. But there was something that stayed the hand of the Lord of Lies and drew his all seeing farsight outward across the plains, the rumbling beneath their feat and the distant screech of shells soaring through the air. The Shadow Hand looked upon each of the Jedi with a grin on his face, a rare display as he spoke.

"Do you feel it, Jedi? You are betrayed, death comes."

In those moments he turned around and moved back towards the Sith Emperor a single lone word came out of his mouth as he spoke to get the Emperor's attention "Bladuil.". Once he reached Kaine's side there was a surge of force energy as their entire world shook, an incredibly powerful force barrier fueled by his raw power formed around the two. The experience of being buried alive beneath rubble was not one he looked to repeat again, not since Mandalore. Only this time they weren't stripped of their abilities in the force, they were left to rely only on their wits and will to survive then. Not anymore. This time they had their full power at their disposal. It was folly, the naive thoughts of a fool to think he could end the war and kill the Sith Emperor and his Shadow Hand with a paltry, mortal munitions strike. To kill two immortal tyrants. Underneath their shimmering shield the Lord of Lies stood motionless as he braced himself and watched the world crumble around everyone involved, watching them die. As the world collapsed and the structure crumbled they found themselves buried under a metric ton of rubble. But unfortunately for their enemies they were completely untouched by such an attack.

Karina's squad hurried along, moving perpendicular to the roadblock that had halted them. In a line, they trudged slowly down the alley, the water-stained walls rising above them and blocking out most of the evening light. It was eerie, the sudden transition from the empty streets, to fierce fighting, and now to skulking in the dim. She didn't exactly know what she'd expected from Kintan, but it wasn't this.

At the front of the group, she slowed to a stop, her aural sensors adjusting their sensitivity as she strained to hear. The scrape of boots on pavement grew painfully loud, but beyond that, she listened to the sounds of quiet, whispered conversation. She crossed to the other side of the alley, wincing at the sounds of her footfalls. The rest of her squad looked on, obviously confused, but she waved them away, and they took their positions watching either side of the alley.

Then, a sound assaulted her, too sudden for her sensors to adjust, and so loud that it caused her to clap her ears to the sides of her head, sliding her back down the wall and sitting heavily. Karina blinked, dazed. It was just the cry of an infant, but with her 'ears' turned up so high, it had rattled her brain like a cannon blast. She shook her head and stood, ignoring the concerned looks of the soldiers around her.

"People." She explained simply. "Civilians, I think. Not far."

The rest they understood implicitly: be careful, avoid confrontation, don't get spotted. They weren't sadists, and an unexpected encounter would put them in a position with which none of them was comfortable, least of all Lowe. Whoever they were, she was unsure which way they were heading, and in unfamiliar territory like this, she could only do her best to guess a route that would take them away from trouble.

It made sense that there were still people about here. They'd reached a central and densely populated section of the city, and they were now nearing the spaceport. Not only would there be an increased military presence, as they'd already seen, but there would be more civilian stragglers rushing to evacuate. Karina wondered how many would be left when the armoured detachment arrived. As if punctuating the thought, a dull explosion sounded from behind her, followed by brief staccato bursts of rifle fire, all of it surprisingly close.

That couldn't be the armoured group, there was no way they could move that fast, even if the route wasn't choked with debris and rubble. No, reinforcements must have landed further in, no doubt they were already engaged with the task of clearing the way for the tanks, taking the place of Karina's shattered company.

They moved along, the sounds of conflict behind spurring them on. Occasionally, Karina would update their position on the map display, but otherwise, they moved without communication or disruption. When they reached the end of the network of alleyways, they were forced onto the road, Karina painfully aware of how exposed they were. Her anxiety was justified, as mere moments later, a militia patrol rounded the corner, and Karina and her group ducked into a side street, barely avoiding detection. Much too close for comfort.

Hurrying past ragged shanties and lean-tos, the squad put as much space as they could between the patrol and themselves. Dutifully, Karina marked its position on the map as they hurried down the narrow lane. When they were sure they were safe, the group slowed back to a walking pace, and Karina sighed, the slight smile of relief visible on her face even as they turned the corner, walking out straight in front of the group of civilians.

Her rifle jerked upwards instinctively, but Karina lowered it and stalked out to the centre of the road, the soldiers forming up silently behind her. Her gaze flickered from person to person, perhaps two-dozen in all, searching for weapons, but she saw nothing. Nothing, except for the unmistakable silver cylinder swinging from the hip of the blonde woman leading the group. Karina's head tilted, but she stayed still, her soldiers wisely following suit.

They stood in place, blocking the path ahead. Karina waited for someone to speak, unable to stop her foot tapping anxiously as the tension mounted.

The world shook around him as more artillery rounds struck the fortress and the surrounding city. Tyluko stumbled a bit, grasping his head as he could feel the deaths of countless innocents through the Force. "Do these monsters ever stop?" Tyluko said softly as he thought back on the Sith takeover of Mon Cala. Tyluko suddenly felt something nudge against him followed by a series of soft whistles. Tyluko turned to see the face of his blue astromech droid, T7-D7. The droid beeped at him concerned. Tyluko placed a hand on the domed head of his droid friend with a soft smile. "I am fine my friend. But I think its time for you and I to go. Its time for us to join the fray."

Tyluko took a moment to let the Force wash over him like a gentle waterfall, rejuvenating his body and calming his mind. He rose to his feet again and ran into the direction of the landing pads with T7 right behind him. He hoped that his starfighter was still there and undamaged.

This fight wasn't over yet.

Their sabers whirled, clashed and separated in bouts of saber techniques that swerved, spun, and cut at each other. In the maelstrom of blue and crimson the Force within them battled in the immaterial realm of the metaphysical. Voyance’s miasma against Wyatt Morga Wyatt Morga ’s zen tranquility. After another strike, the two flew back away from each other as the Force exploded between them.

V0KlgPs.png

Voyance drew the darkside into her hilt and a leaping performed a pirouette that spun her into the air. Unleashing the Force into her body she sped her descent so she can deliver a heavy hammer blow to break the Jedi Master’s stance. The crimson blade, spitting plasma from its corrupted crystal, fell upon the Jedi.

He caught it the blade with a crossing guard of his saber. The excess energy blasted beneath the both of them and threw away the debris and corpses around them in a shockwave that cratered the earth beneath them in a shallow dent. The two stayed in a saber locked match for a moment, staring each other down.

Then Voyance suddenly deactivated the saber that locked with Wyatt’s, thinking to let Wyatt’s defiant pressure cox him into a momentum pushed lurch forward. She slid to the flank of the Jedi Master to catch him across the side and severe his torso in two. But, she suddenly stopped and froze. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped slowly. She looked down and saw a pillar of burning blue jut from her chest. Shaking she turned her head to see that Wyatt had changed his grip into a reverse hold and had stabbed her through the back as she was coming around the side to strike.

“You…” she growled and raged.

“You!”

She was beginning to loose control and she began so slump over the blue blade. Her knees gave way and she fell onto them. The darkside fumed and howled around her as her rage subsided to a dark realization.

“You…”, she mumbled.

The Alor looked out, yelling "Fighters inbound" before commed the Taggers. At least he was going to before the scanners and comms began to fade in and out. Mig had a bad feeling about this. There must've been a jammer in the fleet, and he could only guess it was that blasted Sith Dreadnaught. Kaddie then quickly spoke up, sounding worried. "Alor! Comms and scanners are down! Your orders?" He looked at the A.I., sighing.

"Tell gunnery to aim the railguns at those frigates, but keep on bombarding the Dreadnaught with the HPCs. And get everything else ready for the fighters." Kaddie relayed the information, but he was still worried.

"And the comms and scanners? We can't keep the fleet organized effectively." Mig patted the console, looking out.

"They know their jobs. Taggers should be booting those jammers up now, and firing on those strike craft. I'm more worried about if we can hold out long enough for evac." Kaddie could understand the man's worries, but he had at least some good news.

"If it helps sir, I was keeping the fleet in touch. Maybe... maybe they'll come. They'd know the comms went out cause I was feeding data."

As they talked, the Kad's gunnery teams followed their orders. They may not have had scanners, so much of their targeting was gone, but they were trained. They knew how the ships weapons handled. The heavy railguns were unleashed on the smaller frigates, while the hyper particle cannons continued bombarding the Legitor II. With any hope, the large ship at least couldn't focus it's shields. Meanwhile, the Taggers simply followed what they knew. Missile jammers were activated, hoping to prevent the use of missiles on themselves and their lead ship. As strike craft neared, they also unleashed their defensive fire on them.

Else where, the Enigma-classes and their lead ship turned, keeping their thinnest sides in fire and using their speed and agility to keep out of the heavier fire. They then went back in again, firing with their own Varactyl's in hopes of finishing these escorts. The Enigma's crew even had a plan. As they swooped in, instead of firing off magnamines, they launched a seismic charge from the mine launcher. It definitely seemed like a desperation move, especially since it was their only charge of that kind, but it would hopefully be effective. Help might not come, and if the Mando ships could seem more dangerous, maybe they'd be able to distract while evac ships ran.

The fighters though... the ones that were in the stars were outnumbered. They may not have been outgunned or outclassed individually, but they were out numbered. Seven squadrons against almost a hundred. It wasn't good. But if there was one thing Mando were good at, it was fighting to the bitter end, and taking everyone they could with them to the Netherworld! Each pilot tried to fight like ten! They weren't ready to let the Sith win, and even then they were tying up Sith fighter which kept them from the Evac ships. The Beskad did only one thing different. Before turning to fight their Sith counterparts, the assault craft fired torpedoes and concussion missiles at the Longbows. They had no lock, but they could still point in a direction. The heavies soon turned back to fight the bombers and missile boats that had been sent. This wasn't the end of the issues though.

The Mando'ad'jetii could fell the darkness coming. And Kaddie soon confirmed it. "Alor.... Sith are trying to enter the hanger. I can see them through security cameras." Mig looked at the A.I., then his second in command before leaving the bridge.

"You have the conn, vod."

Meanwhile, Vaux and her two squadrons had swung away from the space battle, diving into atmosphere. She quickly turned to fighters the follow the launching transports. They needed to be sure Sith fighters didn't touch these escape ships. They weren't going to let them get shot down.

  • The Kero’s Kad turns her railguns on the Velox-class frigates, leaving the hyper particle cannons to the Legator II.
  • The Taggers activate their missile jammers.
  • The Kero's Kad turns everything else on all Sith strike craft, with the Kad's Varacytl heavy turbolasers focusing on the bombers and missile boats.
  • The Taggers attack turn there weapons on all strike craft.
  • The Enigma and other Enigma-class FACs continue the attack on the Velox-class frigates, with the Enigma dropping a seismic charge with her minelayer.
  • The Mandalorian TwinTails and Vipers engage the Sith fighters.
  • The Beskads blind fire torpedoes and concussion missiles towards the Longows before chasing the Sith missile boats and bombers with their own heavy weapons.
  • Vaux and her two squadrons do their best to protect any evac ships.

While the rumblers trucked on through the sand and increasingly dense stone structures, the sithspawn fanned out. The blighters spread themselves thin to work as scouts, then etched their way out of nooks and crannies. They whispered to their masters of what they saw.

Breach!” Joycelyn barked the order.

The rumblers and larger sithspawn would now break through the surface and enter what they presumed to be Fenn’s cavern. The drilling machines punched through the dirt and ground it to bits as they rolled out into the cavern space. Festerers tore their way through the walls, while Rupturers etched their way out and jumped down in readiness.

But the brief scuffle was cut short by the sudden rumble from above. Legionnaires, sithspawn and Sith alike looked up to see chunks of the ceiling tumbling down. It was no full collapse, as the cave formation was deep underground, but the larger pieces of falling debris were more than dangerous enough. One particularly large piece crushed two rumblers and their passengers. Another collapse caused a cascade of deaths among the sithspawn as delicate Rupturer acid sacs collapsed and leaked their corrosive matter. Some of the sithspawn retreated into their holes and were partially re-buried. Some of the tunnels they had made collapsed inward and would have to be re-excavated.

Joycelyn raised her hands up as a chunk of cracked and loosened above. She held it in place with the Force, then swept her hands forward and down to toss the stone across the cave space. Dust fell over her, settling on her dark armour.

Press on!” She shouted.

She listened for status reports for some sign of what had changed. What she heard brought her some concern: The Silver Jedi Order had been generous in their bombardment, reducing chunks of the city and most of the bastion of the fortress to rubble and ruin. It required her to change her plans.

Once her legionnaires and the SJO personnel in the cave got their bearings, the blasting began. She felt a bolt of plasma crash against her armour and dissipate harmlessly, only for the shooter to be gunned down by Vey.

Forward!” she shouted again.

The legionnaires pressed forward while the sithspawn burst out from the walls, using new, small tunnels they dug with their claws and acidic discharges. The blighters attacked with pincer and scythe. Some of the rupturers sprang forth from their holes, sacrificing themselves for a spray of potent acid against their enemies, like a living grenade. Joycelyn herself drew a deep breath and charged forward. The giant of a woman put both hands on her sithsword and used the flat to redirect blaster bolts before letting it swing and tear through flesh and bone.

The sword trembled in her hand and fed her its anger and hate. She could feel it strengthening her.

While the legionnaires and stronger sithspawn pressed their way into Fenn’s cavern, the Blighters lingered in their nooks and crannies. They snuck along walls and climbed up on ledges to find targets for their insidious attacks. They were not there to kill or maim, but to sneak up on opponents and deliver a far more terrible fate than death.

When they spotted a target deemed appropriate, a small worm was produced from their cloaca, which then made its own silent journey to subvert the target’s will.

Almost reflexively, the blade had spun in his hand, and despite not looking at Voyance - he had hit his mark. The blade protruded through her heart, and Wyatt could feel that momentary sorrow of what he’d done - a sith should always be helped, redeemed to the light should it be able, long before a strike should end their life. He closed his eyes as Voyance growled, raged against the dying of the light.
His blade unignited with a long shhhhhhtt. The Sith Lord struggled to stand as he turned to face her - still surrounded by little more than that darkness that blocked even the sun from their fateful duel; and Wyatt could only offer a sorrowful smile as he closed the distance to her. Her blade swung to strike - but it was slow and clumsy, grabbed by her wrist, Wyatt turned it aside and wrapped his arms around her.
The Light always waits.”, he offered - be that a final offer, or a threat couldn’t be understood, but he offered it with genuine compassion.
It was a final embrace, dangerous as it were - Wyatt wanted to ease that passing; and when Voyance went limp, he took a step back, glancing into the distance. The artillery still fired - and Wyatt had to settle what he began.
With a leap, he surged through the air towards the closest emplacement with Lightsaber lit up once more - that familiar zen finding its place. Artillery had to be stopped, first and foremost - then to collect what was left of his team.

Ryv dug away duracrete and wood alike hastily as the battle raged. Already, he'd almost been caught and killed by the imperial military and he opted to further test his luck to save the child. Unsurprisingly, it worked as well as one would expect given the surrounding circumstances. The padawan was so focused on the young child trapped before him the Sith Lord's approach went entirely unnoticed. It wasn't until the warmth in the air slowly drained away and the sounds of battle faded away. The world began to warp strangely as the dark side's influence fell upon the small, out of the way street. The hairs on the back of Ryv's neck stood up straight as his body shivered. A faint shift in the child's prison sent a wave of fear exploding through the padawan.

"No, no, no!" Ryv could see her! She was so close! He reached in and threw aside one more piece of rubble before turning to look back at her. She reached up weakly for him as he reached down for her. His eyes snapped shut as a spray of blood met the kiffar's hand and face. The young girl's prison had become her tomb and Kintan, her resting place. His entire body shook as he crawled back slightly and fell onto his bottom. Blood seeped out from the pile of rubble before him, running through the dirt and reaching out to him like crimson fingers. He shakily stood and turned away, tears running down his cheeks as he searched for the one responsible.

Soon enough, Ryv's amber gaze settled onto Ellie Mors Ellie Mors . His body shook from grief, rage, pain, and an amalgamation of other emotions the padawan couldn't even begin to comprehend.

"Why?!" a scream echoed across the clearing as he glared at the imposing, yet beautiful form of the Sith. "She was a child! You probably wouldn't ever see her again!" his gloved, right hand took the lightsaber from his side and gripped the weapon tight. "All this?" he motioned around the. "I get it. You people are fucking power-hungry animals, but her? Why? She wasn't going to do a damn thing to stop any of you."
