Dominion De-nabbed and En-Teched (RTL Dominion of Denab)

RTL_Sig.png
This is Chairperson Mya Jesel of the Rimward Trade League Council. With recent reports of raider activity in Praesitlyn and recent intelligence gathered from Denab, I find myself with an grave request for the people of the Rimward Trade League. Intelligence operatives tracked the raiding ship to the Denab system, to an outpost far from the main inhabited areas. Intelligence is still being gathered on the identity of these attackers, but initial long-range scans have detected a sizable number of life-signs crammed into a small area, with their number steadily decreasing, as well as a rapidly growing number of their drone fighters. We believe this to be an example of Ssi-Ruu entechment, practiceed on prisoners from the Praesitlyn raids or raids elsewhere in the Outer Rim. Time is of the essence. We, of the Rimward Trade League Council, come to all of you to weigh in and vote on the authorization of a joint military operation under a temporarily appointed Captain-General. This may be a declaration of war against enemies unknown, so it is not something we would do without your authorization. Please respond as quickly and adroitly as possible on this shared channel. Time is of the essence if we are to save more lives.

Such was the broadcast that radioed out from Yumfla to the many systems along the Five Veils Trade Route and the member systems of the Rimward Trade League as an emergency broadcast system. All the members of the Rimward Trade League Council and their liaisons with friendly governments, including the Rift Pact Gol Gadonk Gol Gadonk , were contacted directly to be able to weigh in directly on the discussion as people's opinions rolled in.

Despite the need for permission to conduct an official military offensive, others were less bound by the rules. Privateers were not bound by decisions of war declarations, nor were private entities. ORION agents made sure this information was shared with newly arrived pirate-hunter Bane Darkclaw Bane Darkclaw , as well as Niki Priddy Niki Priddy whose people had died at Praesitlyn. Other more freelance agents had also been informed as a sort of advance force to deal with the other ships detected in-system. With some other messages to other freelancers and the Force-users of the League, the best possible option was that the system would be secured and the prisoners rescued before the joint task force is assembled. That, many suspected, would be needed to push further along the Rimma Trade Route to identify and locate the source of these pirates.

Undoubtedly, intelligence agents would be operating prior to formal authorization to ascertain who exactly these pirates were, but that would all be denied. They knew the compound and initial scouts had gained the layout of the compound. It was an old prefab Imperial base renovated and with new external walls, with unusual weapon emplacements along the top, but the original walls and defenses have long since decayed, perhaps even the visual security systems, and the computer security will either be hopelessly outdated or jury-rigged to modern standards, making it far easier to decrypt.

A small contingent of free traders, privateers, and others with a drive to act, have gathered at the edge of Denab to begin their unofficial reconnisance.

OBJECTIVE ONE: DISCUSS AND VOTE ON AN AUTHORIZATION FOR JOINT MILITARY ACTION
OBJECTIVE TWO: SECURE THE DENAB SYSTEM FROM THE PIRATE VESSELS

OBJECTIVE THREE: FREE THE PRISONERS, DISABLE THE ENTECHMENT DEVICE, AND SEIZE ANY VALUABLE INTEL

May the Force Be With You

OBJECTIVE TWO: SECURE THE DENAB SYSTEM FROM THE PIRATE VESSELS

Bane was on the hanger deck of The Fang when he was notified of a situation developing in a nearby system. As he made his way to the bridge, he arranged for certain warheads to be placed on his Star Vipers instead of the ion charged ones. He was in the process of experimenting with different types of payloads for different situations and it just so happened to be today that he was implementing the first experiment.

As he entered the bridge, he was met by his firstmate, Lieutenant Jones. "Sir, they are calling for privateers to meet on the edge of the Denab System" He told Bane. Bane looked at him and then to the nearest console identifying their current position. "Right, set the hyperdrive to the coordinates provided and lets be on our way." He ordered to his 2nd before announcing over ship communications for his gunnery crews and pilots to man their stations and cockpits as it was time for a fight.

Moments later, Bane and the Fang were in hyperspace in route to the others.

Objective: 2 - Junk some pirates

"Captain, we are not privateers. Why are we being tasked with them?"

"The difference between what we are now and the official definition of privateer is not so different, Areta. Why does it matter?"

"Privateers are pirates, sir. I am not a pirate."

"Not quite. Privateers are private individuals being paid to act in a military capacity. In this case we are not acting as auxiliaries as we are not attached to an official military unit, nor are we mercenaries for hire or pirates. We are not acting as private individuals either, but that is probably the closest single word that fits. Regardless, we have our orders and there is no moral ground to disobey them other than your objection to the term privateer. If you come up with a better word I have no objection to applying it, but until then we do our job. Clear?"

"Yes, captain."

With a nod Yvanos Dankar, captain of the vessel, ushered his executive officer Areta Santori from the ready room and back onto the bridge. He privately agreed with the XO in disagreement with the term privateer but it didn't bother him as much as it did Areta. It was just a word after all, and despite the occasional connotations of it they were actually going to be combatting pirates here.

The Tarlanc was not expressly built to combat pirates. So long as said pirates didn't have cruiser-class vessels however, such combat was well within the frigate's design parameters and the crew of former military members was among the best in the galaxy. The ship's mission was escort and exploration and though it was rarely used for the latter it could - did - excel at the former. It carried no fighter craft, instead maintaining several gunboats that could double as transports.

"Ship status?"

"All stations ready, all systems green. Reversion to realspace in three minutes and nineteen seconds."

Objective: 3 - Be sneaky

Currently, the indirect owner of the Tarlanc was seated in the foliage and examining a small base. It was a prefab, but mmore than that the model was over eight hundred years old. The plans were readily available to any child with holonet access. That layout wasn't what concerned him. This old place had been abandoned at least once and fallen into significant disrepair, but had recently been renovated. Those renovations may well have changed how things were laid out. The new claimants definitely installed new walls, and the weapons placements differed from the original plans. On top of that he didn't recognize the weapons, and that worried him.

Most importantly however, there was the rumor that entechment was occurring here. He was by no means an expert but worst-case scenario put an intelligence behind emplacements that may not otherwise have one assigned full-time. Cameras, alarms, and more direct defensive systems could be brought to bear in unusual ways were that the case. It also meant that different tactics could be used too. Still, the place needed to be infiltrated, investigated, and shut down. Even if the entechment rumor was someone's passed gas it was a pirate stronghold, a blight on the sector.

Jedi Master Audren Sykes had extended his senses to examine this side of the base. Taps on the datapad he held corresponded to the life forces he sensed; others would cross-reference this data with visible individuals and map out a viable line of infiltration and attack. They'd have all the information they needed within the next few minutes, then they'd make their move.

The Requiem

Pirates. Entechment. Ssi-Ruu and Trandoshans. It was unusual and it was a concept she did not like. They were causing problems in her Outer Rim, along her trade route. Well, not exactly her trade route, but one of the main ones she used to get back and forth.

There was a privateer with them, or at least a pirate hunter. Aeshi was less concerned about the distinction between the two. She had a letter of marque stashed away somewhere, she was pretty sure, but even if not, there was nothing wrong with throwing down with pirates.

It was to be expected. That was part of the job. She keyed the comms. "This is Tillian. Initiating long-range scans. Lots of wreckage out there from among the battle. Based on what happened in Praesitlyn, there's a good chance they're hiding somewhere in the wreckage."

Her Imyni co-pilot squawked and nodded along, strapping a cut-down scattergun to his feathered hip. "Last time, they had a frigate, so we may be up against some big guns. But if the frigate is their main ship, it was badly damaged by Niki Priddy Niki Priddy , so it may be more along our lines."

She was, however, definitely the smallest of the initial vessels, and not keen on tangling with capital ships again. She would, though, and hit them far harder than they expected.

As the initial scans pinged back, a few scattered energy readings appeared on the scans. "Any of you big boys got some more juice in the scanner? I've got energy readings, but nothing specific. You see anything?"

Audren Sykes Audren Sykes

"Been a long time, Audren," Veino said, crouched low in the underbrush beside the Jedi. He had a pair of electrobinoculars pressed to his face and he was tracing slowly along the wall, making notes and marking life-forms.

Trandoshans, Ssi-Ruu, he was seeing both. They were big, even from the distance he was looking at them from. There were other reptilian species he couldn't identify off the top of his head.

Which was weird. They weren't known for working with other species in most cases, at least as far as he knew. "You seeing this?" He held the electrobinoculars out for his companion. "No mammalian species. Only reptilian?"

What did that mean? He didn't know, but it was something he needed to find out. Preferably a few months ago, but now was the next best time.

Mariah sighed as the Fyrnock arrived. White-5 was beside her, and the many Aristaeus Drones operated the ships systems. On top of that, her own swarm-drones were plentiful in the ship and it's cargo hold. Everything else was very tightly held down. The 80 meter ship had some of the best shield systems available which practically shined with energy to sensors making the ship very hard to miss on scanners, but also nigh impenetrable compared to most of its size. Well armed, but neither slow nor impossible to maneuver.

Mariah attempted to reach out to Aeshi Tillian Aeshi Tillian , "Mariah Marr with the Fyrnock reporting in." she said, intending it to be a joke, her eye twitched slightly as she considered the implications of joining this kind of a battle...or any aside from just fending off pirates from her own ship. "I can't promise to stay, not a warrior. But I can get in closer and try and check things out with less risk...I hope." she said beginning to close the gap.

She hummed to herself trying to keep from getting too worried,
"Not the biggest fan of getting shot at by anything. But if their biggest is a frigate, I'd say my chances aren't actually too bad unless they're really prepared for me."

In spite of her words, her confidence wasn't actually that high. She knew full well, as strong as her defenses might be. There was always the chance something could take her on. Of course she doubted they could account for all her preparations, she in turn knew she couldn't account for all those of pirates. Sometimes it was even just a matter of luck.

There was a rolling anger across the gathered ships under the direct command of their employer. The captain of the previous operation benched for this operation due to his inability to separate himself from the lingering rage of losing a ship and its crew to such low brow rabble.

Niki stood at the helm, legs shoulder wide apart and arms behind her back.

She didn't lack the anger and resentment those under her command and employ felt. She understood those feelings all to well. The concern had been the man's inability to translate those feelings into cohesive and productive orders without her constant intervention. Her eyes were closed as the countdown began on reversion back to realspace.

"Reversion in ten...nine." The communication pit began to relay engineerings countdown as she inhaled and steadied herself.

"Have we engaged the IFF systems?" Matthew asked, earning a small gesture his way without moving her head to address him. A signal between the two that had been working for almost six years now.

"All hands prepare for reversion. Sensors full, IFF's engaged, and all ships operating under the assumption of immediate engagement. Reports suggest more of those enteched drone fighters. Bring them down as soon as they are spotted." She began to run down the list of commands as there impending entry to the system became clear to those vessels equipped with hyperspace sensors.

A large gathering of vessels was drawing near to the end of their path and dropping shortly.

"Three...two..." The countdown continued before the mess of hyperspace travel cleared and the assorted contingent dropped into real space some distance away from the system. The whole of those beneath Niki's command realizing the value of far and away drops into systems for their sensors to search first rather than dropping in on someone's head.

"Systems engaged and searching now Ma'am." Came the report from the sensor pit. Her form never changed, waiting for the signal she anticipated.

"Several friendly signals within the AO Ma'am. Hail them?" Communications offered as she pondered the option. Their own IFF signals engaged upon reversion as the smaller Corvettes and frigates began to space themselves out.

The Disruptor Corvettes taking the spaces between as the first squadron of drone starfighters began to launch from the main hangar. Their deployment only halted long enough for the sensor droids to emerge and throw themselves to the fringes of the system.

The droid starfighters beginning to fly patrol patterns through the formation of the PGEM ships that had assembled.

"Open a secure channel to those vessel within the area flying RTL signals." She finally sighed. It wouldn't do for her to ignore those that had traveled here for her to muscle in without offering her services.

"Channel open Ma'am." Communications informed her, turning in their chair to signal her.

"Vessels flying for the Rimward Trade League, this is Niki Priddy aboard the Pedestrian. I will be offering support as best I am able. Anti-starfighter Corvettes are currently stationed inside of my formation and will be made available for cover should you request aid. We are actively setting up our scanning systems for a thorough search of the system and will coordinate our findings with those willing to cooperate. Pedestrian out and over." She sent the signal before turning her attention to the sensor pit to await their results alongside successful deployment of the sensor droids.

Trying to find a Dogfight Foe
Piloting: Zilkin-Class Interceptor

Mae enters the system a bit out of scanners reach from the others and immediately orders for her ship to activate its cloaking device. She wants to check out who is a part of this mission before she completely buys into it herself. She was here to assist but ultimately, she was here to get flight experience in her new Interceptor.

"Albino, it is time to start charging some Kyber Cells, not sure how many we might need in this fight and if we start now, we may be able to create a second batch by the time the action starts." She ordered down to one of her crewmen. It was odd to think that her starfighter, that was considered very small for the average of the galaxy, had a crew of nine besides herself. However, her Interceptor was designed on a multi-deck plan for her Zilkin crew. Zilkins were less then a foot tall and could fit in the small decks her ship very easily.

As her crewman started the process of making Kyber Cells, the energy fluctuations from the process was disrupting her cloaking device. She decided to drop the cloak as now she was among the fleet that has gathered for the mission at hand. She looked around at the large star destroyer and many frigates and corvette size ships, not to mention squadrons of starfighters flying about. This was a serious fleet and nothing to mess with.

"Red 1, reporting in" she radioed over the communications to the other ships.

As Bane entered the system and met the others, he was immediately annoyed at what he saw. He saw a large star destroyer and many support craft such as frigates and corvettes. It may have been because it was totally against how he normally hunted pirates. He knew that pirates acted much like young pups did or backyard bullies, they were overly aggressive unless a bigger and meaner dog/bully was near. The star destroyer that now sat right next to Bane and the Fang was definitely the bigger dog. The pirates who mostly field a fleet of frigates at best, are going to take one look at the thing and run away, and then Bane would spend the next few weeks chasing them around the sector.

Bane began to strategize in his mind on what the best course of action would be, and without much thought and not waiting for the others, he decided to put his normal strategy into the works. "This is Commander Bane of The Fang, I am going to take a route close to the planet and see what I can draw off and maybe get some intelligence for you on what we are up against. Any other vessels that are smaller than a corvette are welcome to join me, and anything larger, it is best for you to remain here with that Star destroyer." He stated as he did not much care what the others thought of his plan. The system speed engines came online and The Fang made its way out front and away from the others.

His plan was meant just like most of his other encounters with pirates, look like a defenseless and easy target and when they come near, spring the trap. His only fear would be the case in which the pirates had more than one frigate and sent them both or all after him as his broadside was powerful but not nearly capable of taking on two large craft unless they lined up perfectly on both of his flanks for a double broadside.

Objective: 2 - Junk some pirates

A frigate then, potentially damaged. All things even the Tarlanc would likely get the worse end of that exchange. A pirate crew versus military-trained crew shifted that balance pretty significantly though, and even better than that were the allies that were still arriving. Tillian's ship was the smallest but carried one heck of a punch for the size, and it looked like the others present contained similar hidden features as well. Unless the pirates had one heck of an ace up their sleeves - typically a safe bet - this wouldn't be much of a contest.

Dankar glanced at the sensor station and tilted his head in a gesture the operator knew to mean 'go ahead'. Khorus opened opened the comm channel and responded to Aeshi's query.

"Tarlanc here. There are early-warning systems present on the edges of the debris field but we should be out of range for now. There are too many shadows in the field itself to confirm readings without a second perspective."

This group of ships - the Custodian-class frigate being the largest - likely wouldn't catch the electronic eyes at this distance. Move closer though, and alerts would start sounding. And unfortunately with how closely-packed the debris field was from this distance there were plenty of spaces where even one piece could eclipse an entire squadron of starfighters. Once they closed the expanse those tight pockets would become wide-open gaps. It all depended on the trade-off.

The captain was about to suggest that the Fyrnock kick things into high gear and act as the lure since the thing had shields for days. The other ships with heavier weapons would follow and lay the hurt, then full mop-up operations could commence. A simple plan, but as this was a force of irregulars at best simple would probably be the most effective.

Then the battle group arrived.

A full-on Star Destroyer, a frigate almost a hundred meters longer than the one he was on, and twelve corvettes poured out of hyperspace. Starfighters spawned from several of the vessels almost instantly. Fortunately these vessels were all flying RTL IFF signals. Unfortunately, it was entirely possible that this large of a fleet could trigger those early-warning systems. Another transport dropped from hyperspace soon after the fleet, this one also larger than the Tarlanc. Not that the command crew of the frigate noticed such things of course. The newest arrival immediately stated that he was effectively going to act as the lure.

Between the Pedestrian and The Fang there were plenty of people looking to take command. Part of being a good captain was knowing when to play in a team; while he fully expected this to come apart at the seams - probably during the thickest fighting - Dankar would take a back seat and let the others lead for now. However, he did turn to the helm and order a microjump queued up: if the bait found itself in hot water support would be available.

Objective: 3 - Be sneaky

Interestingly enough, Audren didn't sense any life forms outside the ones that were actually, well, alive. Beside him, Veino Garn had been cross-referencing, and everything was matching up. This suggested that all the enteched souls were being poured into starfighters rather than wasted on third-rate duties like cameras or defensive cannon. Or that the Sephi's chosen vantage point was utter poodoo and they couldn't see sith from here.

"My fault. Over the years I've apparently developed a habit of diving into something and excluding most everything else. It makes me seem like I'm vanishing every so often."

Veino was a good guy to have with on a mission like this. A half-dozen others - most of them not sensitive to the Force - wore similar garb and were the veterans of a dozen campaigns each. It wouldn't surprise the Jedi to find that at least a couple had fought with the Rebellion, or one of the iterations thereof. Combat vets who could handle themselves but who would work together if given a worthwhile set of goals. A slight adjustment to the electrobinoculars that the Jensaarai Master handed him brought the walls into focus, and a glance showed the comment was right on. No mammalian indeed, but also nothing other than reptilian. With how many species there were in the galaxy it was an aberration.

"You miss the memo? Lizard Lords broadcast a manifesto on the holonet three days ago claiming they were the rightful rulers of the Outer Rim, and woe to any who dare oppose their rule."

The joke was delivered deadpan, one might actually believe that Audren told the truth unless they could feel the amusement in his aura. That humor faded quickly though as he picked through the species. He was familiar with Trandoshans, and had heard enough about the Ssi-Ruuk to pick them out of the lineup. There were three other species that he could see though, one of which he recognized as Yinchorri. The other two weren't ones he remembered seeing in the past: one looked distantly related to the Ssi-Ruuk and the other just looked like trouble. If looks were anything to go by a straight-up brawl wasn't going to be fun and would be unlikely to end well.

"Yinchorri also, and two others I don't recognize. I don't suppose you saw any secret entrances that jumped out at you?"

Veino stared at Audren, eyes narrowed. The words were deadpan and serious, but he could feel some amusement and humor in the Force. After a few moments, he shook his head. "You watch too many of Sor-Jan Xantha 's holoshows."

A few of the others chuckled behind him, but they were serious too. Huntsmen. Partisans. Undergrounders. The most he could find on short notice and get to Denab. None officially connected to the League, at least not yet. Free Terminus Republic, technically, for a lot of them. Battle-hardened, skilled guerillas. Exactly the types of troops he needed for this mission, but he had to agree with Audren's assessment.

"Not that I've seen yet, but we may have to make one ourselves." He adjusted the visor on his armor and slid it down over his eyes, letting the tech start detecting information.

"Remember, these are all reptilian. They probably won't show up as clearly on thermals." That brought a murmur of assessment from the others and the subtle clicking as safeties were switched off and targeting systems adjusted.

"We may be able to sneak close to the wall and scale beneath the sensors."

"I read you, Darkclaw," Aeshi said, sorting through the numerous signals and communications moving back and forth. "Mariah and I will hold back to cover you."

She wasn't going to trap herself against a planet, or in a gravitic well. Nor was she going to put her ship in the crosshairs between a star destroyer and Force-knew-what-else. That was a terrible idea. She adjusted, "Red One, can you escort Darkclaw in case anything small swings in?"

Aeshi leaned back and adjusted the sensor toggles, filtering out some of the debris and wreckage. Something flashed across it.

"Movement. Small and indistinct. Fast though. Sector seven-six-five. Possibly some of those drone fighters of theirs, or some sort of drone."

"Captain, they have come," a somber-sounding Trandoshan said, a bandage wrapped around his bulbous forehead, stained with the dark stains of an injury. "Large forces. Big freighter. Small freighters. Probes."

"What is our status on the hyperdrive?" The Ssi-Ruu asked, pausing to breathe from an oxygen mask that hissed and rattled.

"Ssstill non-functional," a different technician answered, cradling a missing claw against his arm. "We're several hours out from being able to jump."

"Status on the repair ship?"

"Clossse, Captain," the repair came, "But its course will revert near their fleet at the system's edge."

There was an angry hissing. "Inform the Anointed Ones of the predicament. Transmit our databanks to chips and place them in an escape pod."

An ominous silence grew across the bridge as they all turned to look at the captain. "We have redeemed some of our debt to the Scorekeeper. We cannot fight these ships off. Our mission will fail if our ship and information fall into the hands of the warm-bloods. The repair ship can retrieve our intel and ensure it returns to where it is needed."

The silence grew, but then resolute nods spread across the bridge and across the ship.

"A ship seems to be splitting off towards the planet." The Ssi-Ruu captain hissed, letting his tongue trill back and forth in consideration.

"Let them split apart. This may be our final hunt, but let us make it a good one."

The sensor drones glided through the dark of space. Some beginning to unfurl and engage their systems as others finished the last leg of their journey. Several adjusting their projected scanning vectors with small chemical thrust maneuvers before beginning to engage their systems as well.

An incomplete picture began to filter through to the sensor pit as they adjusted the scopes to filter through the slight magnetic anomalies from the asteroids around the field.

"What's the plan? Let them do all the legwork?" Matthew asked off-handedly, leaning against the backwall of the command deck.

The ambient sound seemed to die in the moment after he spoke. The tiny noises of clothing rubbing against itself loud and grating. Niki slowly straightened and turned to face him.

"We. Are. Here. To. Help. It wasn't just us that have a stake in this. We came in force to make sure everyone goes home this time. Even those not in our direct contingent." She let the words roll of her tongue with a hiss behind them, clasping her hands behind her back as her shoes clacked against the floor plating.

"If I wanted to make that much of a point about being a ruthless karking nerve burner, I would have let the Captain stay, and glassed that little base with the prisoners inside. Blasted the asteroid field, and let the bits slam into each other to fish out the entetched Droid fighters. But that isn't why. We. Are. Here." She controlled her anger, half lidded eyes staring into her compatriot leaning still against the wall with barely veiled contempt.

"Droids nearly finished deploying. Sensors are picking up straying signals in the field though." Scan pit informed, not able to cut through the growing tension aboard the bridge as the went largely ignored.

"Vessel is breaking formation. Are we covering them from range?" Communications piped up, attempting to aid the breaking of the tension.

The slow steps finally stopped, her eyes seeming to wince as her expression shifted to neutrality before turning her back to Matthew and returning to her position.

"Acquire target vectors around the vessel but do not engage unless requested. I don't want to gun down friendlies at this range. We want good relations and people to call on us for help, not gripe when we appear." She informed the whole of the company before taking her spot back at the helm.

"Then let's bring a little less next time we get a call like this. Pirate hunting in something like an impstar is impractical at best." Matthew shrugged, steadying himself after staring down a friend so sure of their path.

Niki Priddy Niki Priddy seemed very prepared with her armada. Made Mariah rethink heading forwards. A star destroyer was a much better choice for that. Then again, maybe not. And she did indeed have another objective from Aeshi Tillian Aeshi Tillian to help cover Bane Darkclaw Bane Darkclaw . "Understood. On my way." She said, it was actually odd to her being the smaller of the ships present. At least when it came to coordination. Still, against pirates, it should do.

There wasn't much to do yet. Just wait, shields up and active, as they moved on. The fight hadn't even started and she was wandering if she was really supposed to be here. Sure her ship could probably handle it, but the twitching in her face didn't exactly subside in spite of it. No amount of shielding could stop everything. And sometimes people pulled a move that you just couldn't expect.

Course she couldn't express that to anyone. Best not to worry the other people here, and WHITE wasn't exactly going to give the most stimulating conversation or comfort on the matter.

Objective: 2 - Junk some pirates

Dankar abruptly turned to the helm station, an idea having occurred to him.

"Felaeon, plot optimal reversion and jump points in-system and put them up on tactical."

The effort only took a few seconds; the jump points showed up first and were swiftly followed by reversion points. Rix Felaeon had been tasked with plotting courses through the debris field but was waiting on refined sensor data and in the meantime had considered the enemy force retreating. It wasn't difficult for her to grasp the captain's thinking though: support craft at best, a full on trap at worst. Most of the points were about the same, and the data was fairly conclusive that the general area where the RTL-allied fleet had arrived was the most optimal.

The captain saw the data and drew much the same conclusions. The pirates essentially had the choice to cut across the system and hope they were faster or stealthier than the RTL ships, or they would have to hide until a hole appeared. The Priddy armada had this area well-covered, which freed up the Tarlanc for other options. One of the more engaging facets of space-based warfare was that it could occur along all three primary axes. Correlating efforts with a large amount of ships made pictures grow clearer. That was especially the case with different angles of debris fields. Giving credence to the adage that a captain should know how to do every job on the ship, Dankar drew a rough line on the tac display, remaining outside the debris. Sensor coverage was weak from most of the angles it would cover into the debris field...shine a light and let no one hide.

"Plot this course, Felaeon. Sensors hot Korus...don't let us get ambushed but lets see what's in that field. Weps, shields up and guns at the ready."

The frigate's primary engines fired, taking it out of the pseudo-formation it had held with the Priddy fleet and towards the debris field. The vessel's shields flickered to life and the gun mounts began running through abbreviated checks.

Objective: 3 - Be sneaky

Audren cracked a smile at the mention of the "child" Jedi's holos. He'd known Sor-Jan relatively well; while the other appeared to be a child he was in fact a long-lived Anzat and the owner of Corellia Digital. Holos were just one of the company's many business ventures, most of them fairly successful.

The pointer about thermal was a good one, something the elfin Jedi hadn't considered. While he was more likely to use the Force than a thermal scope, most of the others here didn't have that luxury and would need to compensate. He handed the electrobinoculars back to Veino and brought up a power scanner. At this distance it wouldn't be able to tell him a whole lot but if he could get a general read...

That junction box was looking a bit hot, even from this distance. That section...that looked very low on power runs, and that meant low numbers of holocams available. The closer he got the most accurate of readings he'd be able to get but also increased the chances of detection. Maybe that wouldn't be needed though. He'd been able to telekinetically manipulate items at distance before, and though it was easier to brute force in those conditions he wouldn't be nearly as far. Tweak here, fan there...it could work.

As focused as he was, the Sephi almost missed the pun. He wondered if the Jensaari had intentionally used the word 'scale' because all the visible opponents were reptilian and sent a barely-arched eyebrow at the man before nodding.

"I think I can take out one of the junction boxes from here and cut off power to a section. If you move quick you should be able to get in close and get through the outer defensive ring. Then I can either catch up or provide a distraction elsewhere. Anyone else have a better idea?"

The hole in the outer ring would probably be temporary: when the power went out manpower - sorry, reptile-power - would converge in the area. If the others wanted to run with this plan his ability to get through the surveillance net would depend heavily on what holes they cut in it, he wouldn't be able rely on the diminished capacity of no power. Then again glowing lightsaber blades tended to be a heck of a distraction and he was more likely to survive an onslaught than anyone here besides Veino. It was a risk he was willing to take if they agreed.

Trying to find a Dogfight Foe
"Red 1 copies" She replied over fleet comms. She would follow the heavy freighter in towards the planet and see what they could pull away. She flicked on her cloaking field and followed Darkclaw in. As she followed in a loose formation, she looked at Darkclaw's ship and wondered how a freighter would or could possibly stand up against a frigate if it came towards her. Even with its quad-heavy laser cannons at both ends, it looked like easy pickings for any dedicated raider.

"Five Kyber-Cells ready, Captain" Said her chief engineer. "Excellent, have two sent up here, one to weapons, one to engines, and lastly keep one there in case one of the systems needs it in a hurry." She ordered back at him. If she did have a fight on her hands, at least she was well prepared for such engagements.

She then looked back over at the Fang, "On your right, Darkfang" She told him.

Bane pushed forward and had his first officer respond to the fleet communications. He flew the Fang a few degrees to the left of the planet to bring the Fang into a better pursuit and firing angle in case pirates decided to engage. He was annoyed that the lone starfighter was assigned to accompany him, but he did ask that any ship smaller then a freighter should follow him. He was pleased however to see the well shielded corvette size ship follow him into action. Hopefully they would be able to split the pirates up and make it an easier fight for both units of the fleet.

"Gunners at the ready" He ordered his crew as they made their approach to the planet. If he needed to spring the trap and give a broadside, he wanted to do it at a moments notice.

Veino shook his head after a moment, "No, that works. I can secure an entry point while the systems are down. Hold it while the rest of you follow in."

He pulled the goggles of his armor down over his face and studied the walls. He could just make out the movement of the guards from this distance, but nothing in particular.

"Mark the section you plan to take down." He handed the electrobinoculars back to Audren and knelt down on the ground, starting to move low to the ground, wrapping himself in the Force.

It would cloak him from the cameras and the eyes of the guards, but he was no expert in reptilian species. Whether it would cloak him from scent, he didn't know, or even if they would be able to pick up on him.

He made a note to investigate that further in the future. R&D would have to start looking into chemical-based stealth technology.

Veino paused and glanced over his shoulder, sending a nod towards Audren. "Signal when ready."

DP-20 Frigate The Ivpikkis

The mood was somber aboard the frigate, but there was a sense of tension and excitement in the air. They were purposeful, and deliberate, and there was even a sense of elation.

This was their duty. No, it was their destiny. This was their chance to make their slates clean. To prove themselves to the Scorekeeper and earn the Jagannath points.

Death was certain, but death was cold, and the cold did not frighten them.

"Full power," the captain said at last. His nostrils twitched and his tongue scented the air. "Let them know where we are."

The ship's power flared to life as the shields flared to life and the scanners went live. The ship hurtled out from the wreckage field, towards the others.

The captain squinted his eyes into slits, studying the situation.

"Ignore the capital ship," the captain said. "Focus on the smaller vessels at first. Navigate us around to where their heavy weapons could hammer their allies."

The frigate went, as fast as it could, to intercept the smaller vessels pushed up against the planet. "Target on the engines. If we can disable them, the gravity will finish them off."

A small squadron of the enteched fighters flung themselves from the exterior of the fighters and raced forward towards the small trio of vessels.

"Fire when ready," the captain said at last. The remaining guns on the vessel rotated forward, targeting on the vessels closest to the planet, and opened fire with a steady barrage.
