Deals with a Mando ....beware the fine print. (Dev Thread)

Ice was sitting at his desk, looking over the details of a frigate that he had been working on for some time. It was to be his new personal flagship. He had been sitting on a massive store of ultrachrome for some time. But he lacked other items he wanted for his ship. At one point, he was planning on carrying out a small raid for the Stygium crystals he would need. Although the plan was a good one, part of he chosen crew had bailed on him at the last second. So he wasn't able to carry on with the plan.

It was all well and good. He didn't like the idea of doing a raid anyway. He was a Mando too after all. But at the time, he couldn't conceive how else he could get his hands on those few items that could only be had in Mando space, without raiding. Course that was many moons ago. Things had changed.

He was now the owner of two somewhat small but quickly growing businesses, as well as a very large station for the rich and famous. He was a prominent figure in two groups...though admittedly one of them was beginning to fall apart. Another situation, he would take advantage of. It was during all these changes of events, that he had an epiphany. An idea to instead of raid for his items. Why not trade for them? Credits wasn't as much of an issue now either. But still. What he was after was even much for his pocket book.

Pulling up his datapad, Ice began work on a message to [member="Captain Larraq']. The owner of his preferred shipbuilding company.

"Greetings Captain Larraq,

I hope this letter finds you well. I write this communique to inquire if you would be interested in having Mandal Hypernautics build me another ship. This ship will be unlike the others your company has built for me so far. It is more of a personal vessel. Not one tied to my company or any group. A frigate in point of fact, and top of the line stealth frigate. A ship that I would only trust if it were Mandalorian built!

If you are interested, I would like to meet in person to discuss the project. I hope you will accept this invitation to stay for a few days on my space station Libertalia. We can go over what I have in mind in better detail. Or, if you are unable to make it out this way, I can go see you at your headquarters. Please let me know soon. I am eager to get this project going.

Best Regards,

With the message away, Ice simply went about his normal business activites as he waited for the response.

Rygel Larraq was always game when it came to making more money. Though, he rarely found himself traveling outside of Mandalorian borders. The invitation was... an odd one. Typically business partners, contractors, and customers came to him for such requests. Not only did it put him, the owner of a rather large and successful corporation, in a vulnerable position, but should discussions pan out there was little he could do to carry out the terms of the discussion while so far away from his shipyards and engineers.

And yet curiosity got the better of him. Rygel Larraq would shortly arrive at Libertalia in little more than a shuttle. Though a Hyperion Security task force was being staged only minutes away, Ret'lini.

As his shuttle docked and the relatively unarmored Mandalorian descended its rear loading ramp, pleasantries would be extended to those that greeted him and a simple statement would be made by Larraq. "So. Let's get down to business."

It was a rare thing these days for Ice to get to welcome a fellow Mandalorian to his station. He had worked with Larraq before, but never in person. He was looking forward to the meeting.

And so it was, on the deck of his space station Libertalia that Ice waited as [member="Captain Larraq"] and his shuttle arrived. As he approached, he give a small but respectful bow to the man. "Olarom vod!" He said with a small smile. And in Larraq's customary fashion, they went straight to business. "Come, right this way." Ice took the man to her personal office at the top of the station.

The turbolift they took up to the room ended with the lift becoming flush with the floor. No walls surrounded them as they entered, so their was no wait for doors to open. The office space was a large circular room with transparisteel walls all the way around. They afforded the room magnificent views of each of the fours biomes that had been created on Libertalia.

Ice would offer him whatever refreshments he wished before they both sat down to discuss the project itself.

"Ok. So here is what I am wanting." An image soon appeared on his desk. An artists rendition if you will, of his proposed vessel. Ice slid the image across the desk along with the specs of what he had in mind, so Larraq could see what he was talking about. (Think my original design, not the updated toned down one)

"I'd like her to be a frigate. Approximately, 400 meters by 400 meters, by around 125 meters. My wish list I'll admit is extreme. When I said top of the line, I "want" everything. This includes complete stealth, heavy defense, and powerful guns. Now I'm willing to sacrifice speed, cargo and hangar space to get it. Though, the more cargo space I can keep the better. I had in mind an ultrachrome / beskar allow for armor. I'd also like as close to a .5 hyperdrive as I can get, if not a .5 itself." The enthusiasm with which Ice spoke of his dream ship was palpable. Though more than likely unrealistic. Still he could dream. He paused at this point to give the man a bit of time to look over the sketches and notes of the design.

Eventually he spoke up one again. "So. What do you think? What can Mandal Hypernautics do for me do you think?"
