COMBAT INFORMATION
- Availability: Unique
- Deployment: Limited
- Strengths & Weaknesses:
Sith Starfighters: The squadron's TIE/K Sith Starfighter "Kojasi" are top of the line handled by carefully selected Sith pilots who have achieved the rank of Knight. They are outfitted with the latest offensive, defensive, sensor, propulsion and communication systems that are available to the New Sith Empire. - Pellucid Crown: In addition to their ability in the force the crowns worn by the pilots deepen their connection to their fighter allowing them to work in tandem with their fighter, performing feats that would be impossible for even the best pilots uninitiated in the force.
- Symbiotic Relationship: The intimate connection with their fighters is also an incredible weakness, the pilots experience physical and mental strain as the fighter takes damage.
- Squadron Size: Due to how expensive the fighters are there can only ever be four per each group at any one time. This can lead to them being easily overwhelmed.
DESCRIPTION
Death Squadron found its origin during the time of the One Sith Empire where it began as a squadron of Starfighter pilots that acted as Darth Prazutis's personal Starfighter escort. It began with a handpicked group of pilots that performed above and beyond in the war against the factions of the Light, each pilot with impressive service records regardless of how well these officers played the game of politics. All that mattered was their skill in the field. It was named Death Squadron after the infamous elite force of ships gathered under one roof by Darth Vader to crush the Rebel Alliance. Each group within the squadron is code named after renowned Dark Lords of the Sith. They were all gathered under one squadron and would be sent into battle to fight alongside him on the field of battle.
But there were problems.
Casualties were immense as the squadron buckled under the relentless form of assault that sent them headlong into overwhelming enemy forces. After a short time virtually all of the original squadron were dead, or so damaged physically or psychologically that they could no longer serve. So a decision was made to make Death Squadron a Sith only squadron with elite pilots chosen out of those initiated in the force. Immediately he found that results greatly improved with these Sith pilots.
Ultimately when the One Sith Empire fell Death Squadron ended the last of its pilots dying out. But they lived on in the project that continued after their deaths. When the New Sith Empire rose one of the first projects undertaken by the Shadow Hand was to pull out the files from his infamous squadron and it was recreated from handpicked pilots among the Brotherhood of the Sith who are at least the rank of Knight, and who have exemplary service records.
This new generation of loyal Sith was put in the field alongside the Shadow Hand to wage war in battlefields across the galaxy to crush the Empire's enemies.
