- The amount of energy required to power the Decimator is produced via Isotope-5 Reactors positioned throughout the dreadnought that the weapon is constructed on. These reactors release concentrated doses of Isotope-5 when the weapon is activated, to create an enormous amount of constrained power. The power is then channeled down conduit tunnels towards the focusing chambers.
- The concentrated energy is refined and sharpened through Siaber Crystal lenses to the extent that the energy is converted into a condensed highly volatile state. Once the energy has reached this stage, it is then harnessed in a large firing chamber and launched at a high velocity towards a chosen target.
- The weapon is designed for use against capital ships, the weapon had the potential to destroy one of these class of vessels in a single shot or cause enough damage to cripple it; and while it was incapable of destroying a planet, it could devastate the surface in the vicinity of where it struck.
- OOC: The previously mentioned damage of the weapon can ultimately only go as far as the other writers allow it, this does not allow any one-shot kills unless accepted by all parties involved.
- Superlaser: The energy generated by the Isotope-5 reactors and focused through Siaber crystals has massive destructive potential, capable of causing catastrophic damage on cruiser size vessels and smaller ships while having a range of devastating effects on both destroyers and battlecruisers. It is a force to be reckoned with.
- Volatile Energy: As the energy goes through the focusing and firing sequence it is extremely volatile during this state, and just one miscalculation on behalf of the gunners can cause catastrophic failure with disastrous consequences. Fortunately there are several safeguards in place however to reduce the chances of such an occurrence.
Designed on the same principles as its predecessor the Annihilation-I it was essentially an upgraded version of the previous superlaser built onto the Shadow Hand's flagship the Goliath.
Re-using the same Isotope-5 generator technology that was pioneered during the initial construction of the Goliath and the Behemoth, more safety features have been added in such as a greater number of ventilation systems to relieve the pressure from excess or backed up energy, thus reducing the strength of an explosion in the event of a catastrophic meltdown taking place.
After the first catastrophic failure took place aboard the Behemoth over the Invasion of Csilla, the Goliath was docked where it underwent maintenance based on reports from the events that transpired aboard the Behemoth. It benefitted from what went wrong with its sister ship and incorporated new changes including to the superstructure. The prow was sunken in to more adequately protect the firing mechanism and firing control center sunken from external assault.
The method in which the energy was harnessed, refined, and sharpened worked extremely well and was kept largely the same. The main change was the swapping out of the standard kyber crystals the weapon used for the better Siaber crystals.
