Description:
Deflex armor fabric system is a synthetic based silicon fabric enhanced through carbon microfibers to provide a degree of armor for general use. The concept derived from losses of civilians during battles within the republic and other places. Launched as a way to provide protection to people thrust into the warzone or living their lives in areas destabilized by major factions throughout the galaxy.
Deflex armor fabric system consists of two major properties. First is a thin layer of silicon weave designed to absorb impact and help to lessen blows. This layer achieves the desired effect because it is a “smart fabric” and hardens upon impact. The second element of active defense is the carbon microfiber filament which is fifty times stronger than kevlar. This fiber is capable of stopping bullets and shrapnel and keeping the fabric itself together under extreme situations. When these two systems are combined they provide for superior ballistic protection.
One millimeter of Deflex armor fabric equals two quality towards armor protection, to a maximum of four millimeters.
Warning Deflex armor fabric system is only a quarter as effective against blasters and energy weapons as it is against other types of damage.
