It saddened him to do what he must. To abandon the planet to its fate for a time; a hand forced by the governments of this region. Even as the large bulk transport was stuffed with Geonosians (he had already boarded it, and avoided his solar sailor as to inspire his people) and their assets, a few dozen other massive transports of Action-lineage being stuffed to the gills, he knew he was not able to evacuate all of his people. Galard Stables, in their inspired loyalty, promised to fight alongside the remnants of Stalgasin Hive left behind; an effort to delay both the Gehenbar Hive as well as the countless warlords upon Geonosis. They were not to engage the Southern Systems Alliance, but they were not to lend aid either. Ignore them, and leave them to rot. Just as they had done to fair Geonosis and his home. Eyes fell upon his few personal belongings he had been able to take. Upon the consoles were a few effects; a wedding choker made of precious metals, his father's ceremonial sword, and a framed mural-picture of him and his deceased immediate family. His wife and children included in the picture as well, the Geonosian Archduke of Stalgasin Hive slowly waddled over without his cane. He needed to present strength in public, but here?

Here he could break down, even if it was just for a moment.

A finger traced along the mural-picture, as he chattered in his native species' tongue, head dipped low. He could cry; Geonosians didn't have the natural physiological traits for it. But somewhere, in the greater ether of the Geonosian afterlife, he would one day see his wife and children again.

[GEONOSIAN]: "Akhueh-hoyuek, frrrrrrrtik'mrrrrrrrtik. Gaeh-haeh-uaek; soyuek-soyaek'huawk."

Thick-lidded eyes closed in morose sadness as the Geonosian took a moment to grieve. Both for his failure to preserve his people... and to honor the legacy his wife and children tried to bring to bear. He would remember them.

Always.

But quick enough as lightning flashing, the Geonosian Archduke steeled himself, and reached for his cane.

It was time to get to work.

Departure.

It was time.

Six billion Geonosians had been crammed upon the transports he could spare - a mixture of larger bulk freighters as well as smaller hyper-capable craft. Six billion Geonosians of Stalgasin Hive and his few vassals. Six billion Geonosians who had a chance at survival, compared to the forty-two billion Geonosians he left behind. That of a world ravaged by civil war; that world he sought to rule. He was not benevolent and kind, but... he tried. He had tried so hard to make Geonosis prosper, and the accursed outsider sentients of the Southern Systems Alliance forced his hand. Looking upon Geonosis for what could be his final time, the Archduke knew it was now or never to give the order.

He made his decision, and turned to his acting subordinate to speak.

[GEONOSIAN]: "Hueyeuk-soyaek."

The clicking of a dual set of Geonosian mandibles followed, and with it, the freighters began to lift off. Craft fled for orbit - though not all were lucky to make it. Gehenbar Hive knew he was evacuating, and even as Geonosian starfighters clashed on both respective sides, some of the smaller freighters, as well as two of the large bulky Action-IV Transports, were torn to pieces and crashed upon Geonosis' surface.

In the end, the Archduke felt the pang of aching loss within his chest as six billion Geonosians became a measly two billion.

He lost so many lives, all because of the damnable democrracies that failed him and his people.

But he pressed on, because if not, their sacrifice meant nothing for the auspices of a free Geonosis.

Breaching orbit like a cetacean within the ocean, the Geonosian transports made their way past the rocky asteroid field, and then reached the designated point. Hyperdrives whirred to life - it seemed the blockade had not yet arrived. A small mercy, one he could only be thankful for.

So, the Geonosian Archduke and his handful of evacuatees made way for Sith Order space. Better to serve his people as a servant of the Sith to save their lives, than to resist and to condemn his species to one final extermination. He could tolerate this insult, this offense.

Because if not, then he failed his wife and children one last time.

And he would not fail them.

Not again.

Karazak.

With that, within the span of nearly a day, the Geonosian fleet dropped into orbital system range of the Sith Order controlled world of Karazak. Formerly a hub of slavery, now "liberated" by the Sith Order. And with it, the Geonosian Archduke, studying over what designs they had managed to salvage, as well as assets, from Geonosian Industries, meant he had a golden opportunity to impose a favorable deal for his people. He made the decision promptly - and with it, sent a encrypted holomessage to the Sith Order. A simple message, dictating terms between Stalgasin Hive and the Sith Order, to be discussed further with a diplomatic meeting. Of the essential notes he added, Stalgasin Hive would pledge complette and unfaltering fealty to the Sith Order, in addition to agreeing to serve them as a vassal. In exchange, he sought to negotiate terms for such work, and to find his people a new home to settle. He couldn't afford them comfort - the Galactic Alliance proved too far and would not dare to free Geonosis.

But here?

He could make a difference. For his people. For his planet.

For his slain wife and murdered children.

So, he awaited the Sith Order's diplomatic representative, and awaited their company. He would not err in this diplomatic meeting. Not unless if he wanted to enable his people dying and the Geonosians becoming a forgotten memory in the sands of time. It was all he could.

It was all the Geonosians of Stalgasin Hive could do...

Darth Malum and his Tsis'Kaar had watched events on Geonosis with a keen eye, it was not as if the squabbling of warring hives was particularly interesting, not when their gaze had been on galactic-scale events. Yet, as was the way of the galaxy, eyes had to be held on a more planetary scale too, for it was so often the smallest events on singular worlds that rippled out to touch the entire cosmos.

Such that it had been, that even with uninteresting events on Geonosis, the Tsis'Kaar had watched, had listened.

All to increasing interest, as they bore witness to the fall of the Stalgasin Hive, as they witnessed their flight.

In the direction of Sith Space.

It had been through the will of a Dark Councillor that they had not been destroyed at the border, it had been by the will of a Dark Councillor that they had been allowed through the Blackwall. Malum had to laugh at the irony there, of course, the so-called Archduke Ukvax the Gilded did not yet know it, that it had been him, that had saved him, saved what had been left of his people, but, for him to send out a transmission of demands... offering to negotiate.

Well, the irony had been quite amusing indeed.

Yet, it was the terms themselves that had caught Malum's interest, as much as his attention had already been raised. Complete and unfaltering loyalty had been what the missive had contained, it was exactly what he looked for in subordinates. Malum had been quick to gather a Tsis'Kaar fleet and set off, concealing the transmission as best he could from any eager ears, as he gazed through the whirling blue mass that stared back ahead.

And then with a whirling boom, the Dar-Itah class Grand Battlecruiser entered the Karazak system, followed by its escort of Arbites and Shikkars. A masked gaze settling over the Geonosian fleet before him, he could order its destruction without any care in the world... he might have to, if they proved anything more than amenable to his offerings.

"Signal the Archduke, inform him, that Dark Councillor Marr shall be negotiating on behalf of the Sith Empire, and invite him aboard." Malum offered to his communications officer, before turning, his black cloak billowing in the wind, as his darkened boots brought him through large durasteel doors, through long hallways, towards his hanger, the helmed members of his Guard, and the masked faces of his Tsis'Kaar following suit in escort.

The Geonosians of Stalgasin Hive weren't exactly in a position of strength; this rankled the very chitinous hide of the Archduke. Yet, he would let his irritation not bleed through. He couldn't afford to. As much as the Stalgasin Hive needed allyship, he also knew he was bartering away sovereignty for autonomy. Autonomy in loyalty. But he didn't feel it was that bad of a compromise. It was the best choice he could make. The best choice he could make, was to pledge loyalty without pause - and to work out the details later. But for now, the Archduke made his way from the bulk transport to that of the hangar of the Sith Battlecruiser. He would go only with his translator droid. If he was to die, the Sith could easily afford doing so with no problems. Dark Councilor Marr had earned his reputation of respect after all.

It was the least the Archduke could do. And to this end, as the Geonosian transport touched down upon the surface of the hangar, the Archduke's cane rap-tap-tapping against the metallic flooring... It's clear he's small. Tired. Exhausted. And to that end, the Archduke nodded as the burnished bronzium of his protocol droid stood with him. A clear and utter attempt to show humility, and with it, deferrence.

The game of politics was appearances after all.

The Archduke dipped his head in a bow, and then chattered to his Protocol Droid which serve as a useful translator.

[GEONOSIAN]: "Gaeyaeh-geh-haeh, mrrrrrwi'kiewik."

The Archduke waited for his droid to speak.

[BASIC]: "His Eminence thanks you for your hospitality, Darth Marr, Dark Councilor of the Sith Order - your power is undeniable. His Eminence wishes to hold negotiations in private as to ensure the security of such agreements are not breached. Would this be acceptable as an initial terms? Otherwise, however, the Archduke is willing to listen to all terms, and certainly agree once they are observed. The Stalgasin Hive sees the Sith Order as a powerful force that can benefit from both of our polities unifying as a power beyond reckon."

A nod, as the Archduke awaited his response - and his own terms, of course...
