Directorate Officer
Grand Admiral Quee watched the start of the demonstration on Mandalore with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism, all of which was mostly do the base design. The classic AT-TE design was proven as a weapon of war, yet initially he was not so sure if it would hold up the rigors of the modern battlefield. Gir intermittently wrote some notes on his datapad as the demonstration progressed. He gradually began to develop a positive reception to the vehicle. The jedi accompanying him, a bulky man named Travot cleared his throat as the demonstration came to an end.
"We are being watched."
"By whom?"
"A zabrak about one hundred meters to your left, though I sense that there is something else which has some attention on as well. Their presence doesn't seem overtly hostile...but it is not friendly attention either."
Gir blinked, "What does that mean?"
"I don't know...it's just a feeling."
Gir fought the habitual urge to nod in understanding. He had heard that jedi frequently had something like a 'gut instinct' which they frequently followed their benefit. He would have a hard time believing it if he had not seen it in action himself. Not friendly...perhaps rival bidders trying to gauge the interest of the other bidders? Gir scanned over a few documents in the datapad as the demonstration came to an end before he turned to Travot.
"Go give this datapad to Myra Hadrix," said Gir, "it has our offer for a contract for this vehicle, along with my contact information if she needs to talk to me further about the deal at a later time. But for now, I am going to leave to see if they end up following me, or if they follow you."
"You think it's personal?"
"I don't know...but perhaps we'll find out..."
"I'll be back with you as soon as I can then..."
