Dev Thread titles

We're familiar with development threads, they're required all the time. However, it's a bit difficult to find out if those threads have been used before when people hyperlink {x} and [x] or Here and such.

My proposal is a simple one: All development thread titles should be listed in full.

Example:
Development Thread: This is the Title Correct!

Development Thread: [x] No.

Opinions? Thoughts?

I know I am weighing in as a Factory newbie again, but I felt a need to voice that I agree with this. If the submission as a whole should be clear and concise in its use and purpose then the development thread link should be no exception.

❤️Thought we made this a thing already?
It was part of that 'unofficial advice on dev threads' blog post I did, the one you linked to the FJs a few months back.

I strongly suggest citing your dev threads using the name of the thread as the text of your hyperlink.
  • Good: Google - (description, why it's relevant to the sub)
  • Not So Good: [x] - (description, why it's relevant to the sub)
This allows you and your judges to search the subforum for the title of your thread, and make sure you haven't already cited it five times by accident. I wish I'd started doing this three years ago. I highly recommend listing the thread name when citing huge rafts of dev for company tier upgrades. I've even found multiple cases where two different companies got high-end tier advancements off the same major project threads, just because people forgot what work they claimed and when they claimed it.

Can you provide a written example on the proposed rule as it would placed in the guidelines?
Current:
Development Thread: (The main way people work for their toys, though most submissions don't require a development thread. Restricted items require specific development threads. Substantial development threads can help judges approve more powerful submissions. If in doubt, put 'If necessary,' and a judge may or may not ask you for one. Threads cited here must be at least 10 quality posts.)

If that isn't noticeable enough, we could add:

9. All development threads that are hyperlinked in submissions must be the full thread title, not an abbreviation.
to the Template rules that are already included above all of the templates.
