Dominion Devil is in the Detail | Agents of Chaos Dominion of the Empty Hex SE of The Deep

Patience is a learned thing.
FGcp3J.png

Concerning reports have been received at the Tower. The Vagaari, an infamous group of nomadic conquerors and slavers, have raided a number of spheres that were on their way to join the elaborate space construct known as the Scintilla. The Armada was caught off guard, in a poor position to intercept, having been out further patrolling. Agents of Chaos are currently trailing the group of slavers out of our area while remnants of the raiding party are left in the scintilla.

FGcGSW.png
Catch up to the Raiders and dispatch the vessels after recovering our people. The Vagaari fleet currently fleeing is loaded with captured peoples. It is known that they will not be treated well, if they survive the trip back to the Vagaari space at all. The job of the Armada is to capture the fleeing group, allow their own people to board while attempting to not destroy the vessels in question.

Second Part of Objective One-
Board the slave vessels and save who you can. The Vagaari are not known for their kind treatment of slaves, so be warned about attempting to recover our people. They may use them against you. The boarding parties will need to be quick, as the vessels in question will likely attempt to break free by any means necessary, and similar to the groups on the Scintilla, will encounter some forms of resistance that can prove to be fatal if not handled with some care. Wolvkil will be present, and an even nastier surprise awaits those that close the distance to the enemy.

FGSZ8z.png
Remove what remains of the Vagaari group in the Scintilla by any means necessary. And blow up the last few ships, or save it for research. Across the Scintilla remain a number of raiding parties, all intent on capturing our people and returning them to the last vessel still attached to the scintilla. They are well trained, and their pet Wolvkil are nothing to balk at. The Wolvkil are deadly in their own right, fast and with dispersed vital functions, you need to destroy the whole beast to be safe from it. An even nastier surprise awaits those that close the distance to their enemy.

FGSdyc.png

Go for a walk in the park while war breaks around you. Have a drink while you hear news about what's going on. Play darts or go swimming. Do anything you want that doesn't necessarily have to do with the Vagaari attack!

Dimitri and most of the Armada had been at rest. Dimitri was slowly unwinding his day with a small finger of whiskey in a glass as he read reports of the latest project to go underway by the Floating mess.

Patrols had moved around the Scintilla in too slow a fashion it seemed as news of a disturbance around the new spheres had reached his desk. Some vessels of the fleet had been in dock for repair still, a large number on standby with skeleton crews interchanging while the Disruptor corvettes made their rounds. Mark VII's were checking vectors when the call came in too late.

XO Rimes stormed into his office, datapad in hand as her face bubbled with anger. He took the item, staring for a moment before his lip twitched.

Vessel’s of unknown origin had made a smash and grab run on the floating spheres, and when they broke away, a few remained behind, attached to the raiding area as Wraith and Disruptor vessel’s moved to intercept the group that was fleeing.

Dimitri hailed the Guardian, moving swiftly to the waiting support craft that would take him to command the ship as a number of vessels came and went to fill the vessel with appropriate crew at breakneck pace. The man seethed with anger as alarms were sent around the affected areas, a warning to the Silencers about possible breaches by an unknown sent. Dimitri bobbed his leg in the turbolift, anxious to begin this operation.

They had to secure those people.

The corners of the Sithling's mouth curled up into a cruel grin. The moment she'd heard the call, she had grabbed a few extra blades and jumped on the first ship that would be taking her and those with her to the boarding of the enemy vessels.

She'd had plenty of time to rest these past few days, after the cowardly running away of certain people on Rodia. The fight had been so lackluster that all her muscles had been itching for a better fight, one that was more worthy of her time and energies. The Unknown Regions posed many different opportunities for that; it had been too long since she'd bathed in the blood of the Grysk, or decapitated a few of those who followed the Empire of Riannon.

Most would view the attack now by these Unknown Regions slavers as a potential tragedy. For Scherezade? It was opportunity.

But like any opportunity, she was being forced to wait. Even over such short distances, it would take a wee bit of time to get to the enemy vessels, and then it would be a touch more time before the boarding stuff was in place and they could go do the woosh against them.

Which was exactly why Scherezade, in full gear and weaponry, was seated on the cold metallic floor of the Guardian, dealing out cards, while chewing on some cheese cubes. It was not a game of Sabaac. It was not a game of Poker. No. It was a game of Cards Against the Agents of Chaos. No one knew where the pack had come from, only that at present there was exactly one of them. But rumor had it that quite a few of the Agents were working on their own cards to add to the pack.

"Discordia's first cook book was called: _________________" she read the black card out loud, and then looked up to see the other Agents start choosing their white cards.

The Scintilla had come under increasing threat within the last few weeks, and as such, the Wild Hunt and the Armada had drastically ramped up security measures, including patrols, evacuation plans, and surveillance in response. For Ivixa, this meant that she spent more time in the military spheres away from her family. While the Scintilla had a robust system of public transport which made it somewhat easy for her to return to Eve upon the resolution of her duties, there were many nights where she opted to sleep in the barracks so that she could more easily return to work the next day. Nevertheless, all of the long days and nights spent training, patrolling, and more, had taken their toll. Ivixa was tired, but when she was called back to duty in order to defend the Scintilla from the Vagaari raiders, she answered it without hesitation.

Immediately, she was placed into a ten-person squad under the command of Madalena Antares, as its principal sniper. From there, they were quickly deployed to one of the agriculture spheres, with the objective of hunting down and eliminating the remaining Vagaar raiding parties.

Emitting a thick haze of hissing smoke plumes, a single Mark I Jammer landed in the middle of a vast field of crops of which Ivixa could not identify to save her life. Her parents, and many of the people in her community might have been able to do so, but unlike them, she knew very little of farming or working the land. Unlike them, she had grown up and lived her entire life within a modern, technologically advanced society, having never once experienced the primitive struggle of life on Alea, which had been a world of giant predators and volatile weather before the cataclysm which rendered the planet irradiated and thus, uninhabitable to life in all its forms.

With a deep breath, Ivixa placed her helmet over her head and left the ship with the squad. Her rifle, which was too large and powerful to fire unsupported, was locked on her back. Instead, she had her pistol held at the ready as her armor's sensors scanned the area for nearby threats, while she simultaneously taking stock of her surroundings with her own sharp eyes.

No matter what happened, Ivixa was primed to kill the savage raiders who had dared to invade her home.

The sun was shining through the large windows, filling Alwine's apartment with fresh and warm light. It was summer on Eve, and the weather controls made sure it would be a perfect one.

But things were far from perfect. She'd had a good week, her body operating and functioning as it was meant to be, the constantly pleagueing pain she suffered as a result of the torture by the hands of the Sith Empire gone almost entirely.

But today… Today, her body hurt again. Alwine opened her eyes and groaned, already recognizing the stiffness in her limbs, already knowing what it meant.

Some would cheer on her for making it through despite that. Two large scale wars and she still lived, mostly unharmed by those. And yet, while she could see the grand scale victories for what they were, she could not help but feel that personally, she had failed. The negotiations on Siskeen had gone entirely not according to plan, ending with the deaths of millions of refugees by Confederate hands. The second time… She had only survived because she had help, and she had run.

Realizing she was not truly a combatant had not come as a surprise to the petite Lupine. But to then feel its consequences so dearly, especially when her own life was directly threatened… It would take time for her to be able to properly cope with that.

It took her several minutes to force her body to sit, her hand almost automatically reaching for the drawer near her bed then, bringing out the small bottle that still contained some of the magical pills she had purchased in the slums. It was not a proud moment for her, for her, who had always prided herself on full control, who always knew exactly where and what she was. Her sense of self had more than once intimidated some of those in her immediate surroundings, and yet now…

Alwine closed her eyes and popped two pills. It would take time, at least fifteen minutes, for them to take hold and to free her body into nearly normal usage.

Pressing the button of her commdevice, Alwine's body froze now, not because her pain, but because of the news. Under attack. Civilian kidnapping. Slavers.

She cursed. She cursed again.

The next message was a direct order from the Wild Hunt, to stay put - the urban district had not been attacked, but Alwine was high profile enough for the unknown enemy to potentially come for her. A few of the Hunters would be dispensed to her place, to guard her, with the order to be ready to retreat into the underground tunnels in the event that things escalated.

Alwine sighed, and began to work on pushing herself up. It was going to be a long day.

Wearing this | Dimitri Lindzinsky Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter

A spell had been cast, as on the rarest of occasions in search of blood like her own. A spell had been spoken, blood had been drawn; this galaxy was far too large for her to depend on her ears and eyes. The Force would aid Hellys in search of her mission. She would find those she sought, she would face them - eye to eye to eye. Elys rarely failed and her mission required completion so she could return where she belonged, to hell. Though the little one knew little magic, she knew enough to get her by. She was not a creature of magic, she was darkness and yet, the words responded to her. Mother taught her that, though Mother knew words, she did not cast them. Yet, somehow, Mother knew Elys could cast the words. She said it had been her birthright to chant. Mother was right, Mother was always right.

The spell had been cast and led her to where the metal ships slept, to a metal beast in its own right. It had been days since one of them led her to this world. Scintilla, the Nighthaunter had called it upon arrival. It was a brand new word for the hellspawn. These worlds seemed full of many new words, Elys would give it that. New words were exciting but they did not distract from her goal.

She had snuck aboard, moving further in, curious why the spell led here, to another metal beast.

Would they be here or would it lead her to them, Elys wondered as she moved forward in, keeping out of sight as many boarded on. In her hiding place, the time had passed before she had felt it. Something she couldn't quite comprehend but it grew stronger, nearer. Hand reached out against the metal as she sought out with the Force. A strength, a power. The spell was still working through her system, Elys came to see as she felt a familiarity. Whatever, whoever it was, they were close. Within the metal beast, Elys wondered? Had it devoured it too or had they willingly walked in, same as Elys. Would the spell lead her to her destination faster than anticipated? Mother always said it had been her birthright, she would be amazing at it. Perhaps, she had been right.

A deep breath was inhaled, eyelids closed. "Show me." Elys commanded as she felt the last strings of the spell work their way, like a whisper, calling her out of her hiding place to find the source it had found. Eye to eye to eye, the hellspawn promised herself as she snuck out, standing up. Plenty of creatures about, yet the source the spell was leading her didn't seem in this room. Like a nudge of ancient powers, she stepped on in search. Elys hardly backed down from a challenge. She wouldn't have survived this long if she cowered, and she certainly did not cower.

Madalena Antares' face was usually a display of warmth as well as kind smiles, but none of that showed this day. Today, Maddy or Madsy was almost non-present, and she was pretty sick and tired of the bullchit that she was having to face as of late.

But that was all right. Those who had come for the Scintilla had made a mistake. They should have tried to sneak in like the coward that was Muad Dib instead of attempting an open assault. They should have tried to get a body count instead of tried to take their people away. For what the Vagaari had done, was simply call the Agents of Chaos to annihilate them.

So, it was not simply Madalena Antares that had heeded their call. The former Head of the Wild Hunt, she had now become the Aspect of Death, the one who brought things to an end… And began new things.

The scars of her face seemed to almost ignite with a glowing red hue, making the marks upon her skin show more feverishly.

Some might have been frightened by the Vagaari. She, was not. They had come for the weaker spots of the Scintilla, attacking smaller spheres and trying to take the people who were further away from where the main forces were. Madalena had spoken at length with Discordia as well as Dimitri, and she knew there were working on spheres that would be arriving shortly to protect their space construct more properly, but until then…

"Cowards," she said, her scars flashing. The fields of this agriculture spheres had been set on fire, most of the families that had lived there, gone. There were only a handful of people left, and all their sensors told them that the Vagaari were still there. She assumed it was to get the last of the farmers as well.

With her left arm, now finally healed after all the damage Théodoro Théodoro had dealt it on Rodia, she motioned for her squad to follow. Fingers sent silent orders, sending a few of them to take cover so that they had the back of the main part of the group.

The Aspect of Death though, did not come. She was here for a frontal assault.

"Two dozen of them, up in that farmhouse," she pointed, and marched. They were going to slaughter those who dared.

Ivixa would deliver the first strike.

The Aspects of the Wild Hunt were famous, perhaps even legendary to the rank-and-file of the Wild Hunt. Therefore, to Ivixa, it was a nigh-unbelievable honor to be placed in a squad under their command, especially that of the Aspect of Death, who was the former head of the Wild Hunt. Her assignment to Madalena’s squad might have been purely coincidence, maybe since she was the best sniper available given the number of Vagaari raiding parties that had invaded the Scintilla. Regardless, she didn’t intend to squander the opportunity to establish a good first impression with an Aspect. It was a chance to advance her rank, career, and prospects, so that she could eventually be placed under higher pay grade and potentially have the means to arrange better accommodations for her family.

Then, perhaps one day she could become an Aspect herself.

Quiet and sure as a tiger hunting its prey, Ivixa activated her cloaking device, turned off her active scanners, and moved quickly towards the perimeter of the group into an overwatch position by the short fences around the farmhouse. The raider patrols around the area were already on edge given the landing of the Mark I Jammer close by, and she could already see a number of the Vagaari raiders were readying themselves for a fight. Unfortunately, she couldn’t pick out any officers or distinct-looking targets, but it was very likely that any high-ranking raiders were hunkered down within the farm house itself.

With a deep breath, Ivixa switched to her rifle, lowered herself into a prone position close to the fence, and deactivated the weapon’s gravitational field disruptor. The sudden weight of the rifle in her hands was initially awkward, but it didn’t inhibit her ability to aim the weapon. In addition, the weight also served to mitigate recoil, which was quite important for Ivixa given her diminutive stature.

In the moments that followed, Ivixa set her crosshairs over the broad chest of a particularly large, rotary blaster-wielding Vagaari raider and held her breath to the count of two before squeezing the trigger, loosing a single projectile on a supersonic path towards her target.

That was the signal for the beginning of the assault.

Mommy Dharma and Shinju were allowing the two of them to head out into the galaxy and take their own slice of it and she had lost her sister.... that frustrated the teen as she held the blade and looking at the group coming onto the station before she spoke pointing her hand. "You... I am Bundori the great and powerful and you will tell me where Minerva is or I am going to get angry... and you won't like me when I am angry buster."

An alarm blared and red lights filled his room.

He jolted awake and reeled at the sensation, simultaneously present and drifting as each rattled breath came like fire burning up and out of his throat and back in again. His head swam as he jumped and his knuckles turned white as he gripped the edge of his bunk as he tried to rationalize the fact that the red lights were not dark flames burning everything around him. Kyrinov’s chest tightened and he wobbled as he rushed to his desk, the analytical part of him looking to see what the problem was. The message flashed in bright yellow:

HOSTILES ON SCINTILLA; REQUESTING IMMEDIATE AID

Anat rushed to his side and jumped up onto him, pawing and repeating the alert several times to tell him to sit down and take a moment to get back to reality. “There’s no time to relax, Anat. We have to go. Now.” The Chaplain opened the intercom channel that spanned Mikdash ha’Sheketh and spoke in a gruff and abrasive tone, “We are under attack. All Reapers and Shadows are advised to gather forces and secure all tunnel passages leading to other spheres. Once all civilians and spheres are secured by at least two teams, the remaining forces are to focus on Eve. Gear up in the Roach and move out. May Discordia smile upon you. Lieutenant Obriss, report to my office immediately. Chaplain out.”

Minutes later, the door to his office blasted open and he saw Prioress Obriss, looking at him with calm yet wide unseeing eyes. The priestess of the Eight Arrows Sect crossed the glowing room to stand in front of his desk as he looked across to her. Their order was a more secretive one than that of the Silencers and as such, he did not want to betray her true purpose to the members that were not aware of its existence. But, the warriors of the Eight Arrows were formidable and the higher ranking members were strong and capable in their own right. “Prioress, a pleasure. I regret that I don’t have much time to chat beyond these words. Would you and your sisters offer support in eliminating the threat on the Scintilla?”

There was a pause as she considered the offer. A rather long pause, but not even he would rush a fellow priest without just reason. Finally, she spoke, milky white eyes locked on his direction, feeling, sensing, and seeing through trained and tempered usage of the Force. “We will aid you, of course, Chaplain. We can secure civilians into the emergency shelters and then join your men on the battlefield.” She nodded curtly and dismissed herself, turning around and walking to the door, causing it to open at the detection of motion near the threshold. “May Discordia guide your hand and your blade.”

“Thank you. I pray that She guides you and yours as well.” He waited for the door to close to reach out to Valkur, tugging on their connection and projecting his thoughts into the man’s mind. <’We are under attack. Meet me outside of the Temple. Grab your weapons and bring the Veil, you will need it. We’re headed to Tech Town.’> With that, Kyrinov turned to clasp a belt around his waist for added protection. There was no time to clad himself in his usual armor. There wasn’t any time at all, he should’ve already been there as far as he was concerned. The Sith grabbed both of his swords, one in each hand as he and Anat strode out of his office and into the upper level of the Temple, whistling sharply to call her to his side.

His breaths came in slow, deep, heavy waves. Only Svea was close to the front today, calling for blood. It seemed the Sandali woman was never quenched of her thirst for violence. And it only seemed to multiply as he called upon the Dark, allowing it to wash over and temporarily invade his being. The energy surged through him and out of him, showing first as his eyes turning into molten lava.

Silencers rushed past him, mobilizing and taking stealth transport to the various tunnel ways around the perimeter of Eve that led to other spheres. Some were still suiting up, other ran towards the cityscape just on the horizon. Orders being yelled, boots thumping against the rock and clay underfoot. Soon, he was the only one standing there, eyes and nerve endings burning as he awaited the arrival of his Apprentice.

Jai'galaar glared as he quickly grabbed a man and through him to the ground. One of the slavers that had decided to invade and enslave the people of his home. The Mandalorian hated slavers. For years he and his clan had fought off slavers, along with many other clans. So to have them here.... He glared at him, pushing him up to one of the walls.

"Where are your friends?" The raider just spat in his face, which was met with a Beskar boot to the face. Jai shook her head, hitting his comms for anyone on the station to hear. "Got another one that wouldn't talk. Thought slavers were made of weaker stuff than this." He quickly walked out to follow another location they'd tracked down as activity for these people, but he was worried. He sighed, hitting his comms again. "And stay safe everyone."

Domino had been surveying likely resource nodes edging the unknown regions for some time now. Or rather, she'd been following up on the likely leads laid out by the survey droids. there was no reason for her to be out there personally on every planet and dragging the majority of ORR Sec's capital ships around with her. It was now on their return to the Scintilla that the alert came in. "Mam!" Came her captain's call. "News from the Scintilla, Vagaari raiders have hit the station and several new spheres, they've taken prisoners."

Ice ran through Domino's veins, all those here knew what that meant from the mandatory briefings she'd ordered. "Signal the Blue Nose to drop out of hyper and do the same, recalculate new jumps to the pursuit and signal combat stations." Orders given, Domino left to her berth to change into a vac suit. The active crew already wore theirs and just needed to don helmets but soon the entire crews of both ships would be. Long ago Domino had decided that no ship would go into battle while pressurized if possible. Damage control did wonders to stop leaks these days but those systems could fail and atmosphere helped propagate explosions and fire. As she finished pulling the suit's gloves on the tell-tale shudder of the heavy cruiser reentering hyper reverberated through the deck.

"Twenty minutes until we join the chase, we were close." Sweet Kahllina's captain reported when Domino took her seat on the bridge. The way he said it, she knew he considered them lucky to be so close and looking around, the crew were eager to get a little action. She wouldn't sit idle during the wait, instead drawing forth the chair's control console and calculating what they had to use between the two ships. Five fighter squads, ten gunships, eight shuttles. There was a lot she could do with that.

Morgan narrowed her eyes at the other players, making sure no-one was cheating. She didn't actually know whether it was possible to cheat in this game, and checking was more of a habit, but she did it nonetheless.

Her attention then shifted to the question itself, and she started to wonder what a cook book would be. She knew what cooking was, and she knew what books were. Those two words together were new for her though. Eventually she decided that it was either a magical book that helped you cook, or one that told you how to do it. She flicked through her cards, only to find a couple of strange words or things that weren't as great as she'd want them to be.

"A cook... book", she softly repeated, as she went through her cards again. "A book... used to cook."

She sighed softly as she observed the armoured woman, who was definitely overdoing the whole armour and weapons thing. How would she even use of those weapons? She only had two hands. It made no sense to her.

Morgan picked one of her cards and placed it in front of her, before her attention faded away from the game. She started to curiously look around, trying to find anything interesting to look at.

Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas had been the first to open fire. Madalena smiled. Slugs were flying all around them, but none were aimed at her - yet.

Smiling, the Sith Sorceress stepped forward, raising her hands. Every person in her family had one element that was theirs to control. Her grandmother's element had been earth. Her aunt's element had been ice. Her sister's element was earth as well, though she loathed being compared to her grandmother. But Madalena? She took after her mother, and her element was air.

Within moments, a tornado began to form behind the farm house, which was between the Agents and that.

"Scan the house for civilians," she ordered her squad. The tornado continued to grow, but for now, she kept it at bay, at a safe distance from the house. If the farmers weren't there anymore, she would bring it into the skies along with the slavers that were in it.

Her commlink let her know of Jai'galaar Gred Jai'galaar Gred 's words.

"Krak safe," she laughed, "Kill 'em all. Any of you get injured, I'm taking you to a private hospital, my treat. And if you haven't yet - kill him. Leave no loose ends. The only way these Vagaari are leaving the Scintilla, is in body bags."

Looking to the house, she smiled again, knowing the intel would be arriving soon. Turning to Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas , she nodded.

"Get ready to move towards the windows of the house," she alerted her.

Soon...

The smile on Scherezade's face was absolutely delicious as she looked at the people in the group, her eyebrows wiggling with anti… cipation. Within moments, a handful of cards had made it to her, and now was the time to read them out loud.

"Discordia's first cook book was called: Millions of dead refugees floating in space!" she read the first one, and then looked at the others, stifling a laughter. It was some seriously dank humor. But that was what the game was made for. Whoever played that card had some balls.

"Discordia's first cook book was called: The Empire of Riannon's itchy bottom!" now she laughed. It was a much milder card, but one that was easier to giggle about in public.

"Discordia's first cook book was called: Itchie Kitchie Ya Ya Cha Cha," Scherezade blinked. She didn't get that one, at all.

"Discordia's first cook book was called:..."

Scherezade instantly became silent. Though most of her attention had been on the game, enough of it was focused elsewhere. There were parts of her that, unless she was severed from the Force, she could never ignore. And those parts were now scenting something.

Not something.

Someone.

The Blood Hound's head turned to look at the entrance, just as Aurelia deWinter Aurelia deWinter entered. It was a face she had never seen before, but even without her ability to scent her blood and know exactly how the two of them were related, those green eyes would have never left her second guessing. Family.

Scherezade coughed, and tried to force her attention back to the game.

"Discordia's first cook book was called: Glowing Green Ey- HEY! Who put this card in the pack?!" she half yelled, looking at the group, her eyes landing on The Bridesmaid The Bridesmaid . "Was it you?" she asked and stuck her tongue out.

Then turning her head again, she motioned for the family member whose name she didn't even know, though she knew well enough who her mother was.

"Wanna join us? Still enough time left before boarding."

Deep Space near The Deep

Vernan Holt looked at the man in the image silently and with much disdain. Raymond Mosses had been his contact upon joining the Agents of Chaos fleet at Reshmars behest. Why the MOn calamari wanted him there and why he had sent the drunk ahead of him baffled him. The group had been welcoming enough at first and though most seemed respectable and at the surface competent beings, he knew most were one step above criminals and cutthroats.

Holt had no issue with their ways, in fact, he admired the organization's attempts at destabilizing the Confed thus far. Holt did not dislike the Confed, he had may friends who served the CIS proudly. It was not the who that he liked it was the general what that he admired. They threw themselves at the bigger bullies not caring they were the underdog. Holt did not agree with all of their ideas and intentions but he could get behind the little dog in a fight if the fight was worth it and from what he was told by Reshmar there was more going on out in the unknown regions than anyone knew, and Reshmar wanted someone out there other then the Chiss and the General.

"Come on Vernan you know I am good for it" said the shaggy looking man on the screen. "Just let me bring the Dancer onboard and store her there. The fish sent me one of those pickets to use while we are here. The Dancer is just on the way down here," said Ray. Holt remained silent and stared at Rays image knowing full weel Raymond could see his image as well. "Come on Holt man, You got more than enough room up there." said ray with the grin he got when he was trying to steal some elderly woman's life savings or had just been caught cheating at Sabacc.

"Ray, I will let you store your ship up here on the port pod. But only after you come to get that Picket off my deck. Once it has been moved out of storage I will put your ship where it is currently sitting. That is the only deal you will get." said Vernan. Ray smiled and nodded "Yeah thank you man, sounds good. Also when I get up there, do you have any sandwiches for guests? I have not eaten yet today."

"Vernan closed the channel then sat there pondering the man he had just been speaking with. Ray seemed so stupid at times. He did not seem to care about much as far as Holt knew but he had shown short but spontaneous moments of genius at times. He shook his head and gave up trying to figure out the man. He was something of an enigma that the galaxy was better off not knowing the truth of.

"SIr, we have contacts on long-range scanners. SHips moving into the system converging on the Scintilla." said one of the sensor officers. Holt looked over at the man then pointed at the big screen at the front of the command deck. On the screen, a magnified image of a group of ships popped into assistance.
"IFF?" asked Holt as he looked at the blurry image. The ships were little more than recognizable dots at this range. The image relay from the deep space probe they had dropped outside the system had not been brought online as of yet and at their current position outside the system, this was the best he would get.

"DIsenegae the cloaking device and plot a course to intercept those craft" ordered Holt. HIs orders were carried out and the currently empty section of space that had just been there was now filled by the hulk of the Minerva. "Shields up, flank speed Helm. We won't be able to catch them before they hit the Scintilla but we can assist once we are there. The Battlecarrier accelerated to nearly two thousand g's as its massive engines ignited and pushed its super dense hull to the limit of its thrust. The ship lurched then moved off towards the Scintilla ever-increasing speed.

"Once we are in range launch our ready flight to intercept and get three squadrons on the deck and ready to launch," ordered Holt as the ship moved faster and faster toward the Scintilla and the unidentified craft moving in on her. "Sir most of our pilots are on the Scintilla. Most have not reported yet since we technically are not here officially until the day after tomorrow," said Holts second standing beside him. Holt nodded and cursed, "Then launch what pilots we do have on board. The ready flight is loaded in the tubes Captain, I am sure of that." said holt not looking at the man. The Captain turned and walked to the flight operations console and informed the CAG of his orders. Holt watched on the screen as the objects made contact with he spheres in the far distance. He hoped he could get into range to help but feared whatever the invaders were up to would be over before he arrived.

It had been the strangest of times, these conflicts were meant to stir the future, change it. So far, small changes had certainly been made yet Larentia knew it was not enough. Maybe it was never going to be enough, maybe she was never meant to return home. What future would she have in the future changed? Larentia had been here so long, fighting, trying to change what was to come that she didn't feel like the same person anymore, the person Mother raised, prepared for her own future. She was meant to lead someday; and yet, here she was, trying to save her future, their future, by changing it.

Long ago, Larentia had resolved - if she could save the future, she would sacrifice herself for it.

A warrior though, never stopped, their fight never ended until their last breath. Larentia understood this. So, when news of the sphere being attacked, she knew that here, there was but one she wanted to protect. Like she knew her brother, she knew her. She had made the journey to Alwine because of this, making her way upward, towards a place she knew was there. There were two fully grown Lupines on this sphere and Larentia protected her own, no matter what.

The message had come through for the Wild Hunt to stay put, she would listen but that would be after she made sure the other one of her kind was safe.

She would end up at her doorsteps, ringing the button to get the woman's attention. If the wolves were to fight on this day, they would do so together as they should have. Side by side. That was the way of their people, the way Mother taught them since the day Larentia had been born. What she had done on Rodia was irrational, weak, in a way. She had opened up to Alwine's brother, revealed something she had never intended to reveal. When faced with Katrine, she was struck by duty, by lessons she had been given her whole life. Her training. Keeping the secret of who she was coming from everything Mother taught her, from everything he had been brought up to do yet when it came to him, there was still some small part of her that was curious. It was what it was though, a weakness. Larentia recognized that. Maybe it was why she was here too, why she felt like she needed to make sure Alwine was safe. Yet, it was one she could not stop herself from doing.

Once the drugs kicked in and Alwine could move slightly closer to how she was supposed to, it wasn't long before she stepped out of the refresher, the scent of mint and pinecones surrounding her. It was the one thing she could never shape off from herself, or from her willingness to keep. WIth both her brothers gone and her last name changed, the combination of mint and pinecones was all she had left from her older life. It was the scent of entering the forest behind their hut on Stewjon, where a certain mint bush had grown so wild that its scent became impossible to ignore.

Flicking on her commdevic again, she read the updates. Ships were moving to intercept and board the enemy, and various groups had been dispatched around the Scintilla itself. Thankfully, there were no reports of bombs so far. The last thing she wanted was another Muad Dib sending innocents floating into space, and she dearly hoped that the Agents of Chaos would not have to be told to keep collateral damage to a possible minimum so that they wouldn't end up killing their own people as well.

She was still in her robe when the doorbell rang.

Had she been in wolf form, Alwine's ears would have pricked up. She knew there was a Lupine on the other side of that door, and moments later, when she opened it, Larentia Larentia was standing there.

Alwine smiled.

The earlier comm had spoken of sending a group, so it was safe to assume that Larentia was not part of said group. Which meant they were late. But she also knew Larentia for a ferocious fighter, and with her presence here, Alwine would have less to worry about.

"Al'doer," she welcomed her, realizing only a split of an instant later that she had not used the Basic word, but rather the Stewjoni one, "I mean, welcome," she corrected herself, and stepped aside so that Larentia could enter. "I take it you're not part of the Wild Hunt squad that is meant to arrive shortly. Can I offer you anything to drink? Eat?"

It wasn't chaos, though it may have looked so to an untrained eye. It was urgency, a flurry of movement and communications and the quick action of trained forces rushing to crush the daring raiders. And Conn jumped right in. He was new, so new he had yet to be assigned a role or place, or issued any gear. He had brought what he could grab from his own equipment before racing to the mustering point. His blades, pistol, carbine, a comm he would have to sync to the correct frequency. A squad was gather near Madalena Antares Madalena Antares , her scarred visage unmistakable, the seams pulsing with an angry glow. She was clad in a deep red version of the light armor many of the others around her wore. Conn had no chance to speak with her. A suit of the Haywire armor was tossed at him and he was crowded onto the vessel with the others to intercept the Vagaari in one of the outer spheres. on board, he hurriedly donned the armor.

They hit the field and poured out of the transport, arms ready, quickly assessing the raider presence. Conn turned to see the diminutive Asa'nyx Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas with her rifle stride confidently towards a suitable firing position. It was clear from her weapon she was a sniper, and seemed more than capable of handling the large weapon. Conn unslung the blaster carbine from his shoulder, while the hilt of the vibrosword remained jutting over the other shoulder. He clicked off the safety. Then came the crack from the Asa'nyx's rifle, and the slugs and bolts began to sear the air around them. Conn took a knee and lifted his blaster, squeezing off several shots.

He glanced to Madalena for further orders. The newcomer was only just beginning to learn about the Aspect of Death, enough to know there seemed to be deep wells, old and dangerous and mysterious, within the powerful woman. As her focus swung to the distant farmhouse, Conn saw the funnel cloud begin to form. While his own connection to the Force was not tuned to sense other users, it was clear that Madalena was strong with it. At her orders, he moved forward with the rest of the squad. Without a scanner of his own, he continued to fire at the raiders massing by the farmhouse, keeping an eye out for civilians.

Aboard the Guardian...
Wearing this | Scherezade deWinter Scherezade deWinter The Bridesmaid The Bridesmaid Dimitri Lindzinsky

Voices spoke, of things foreign. Cookbook. Cook...book, she heard a familiar voice as she drew closer to the spells end. Glowing Green Ey- HEY! Second voice spoke up, blinking at the sound of the word. Those words seemed louder, closer. Effects of the spell, the hellspawn considered as her glowing gaze watched the group gathered, throwing words out she did not recognize. They seemed foreign, different yet words recognizable none the less. They seemed to be speaking the same language as Elys did but none of those words were important in hell, so they were not taught. She wondered now if Mother knew any of them but saw no purpose to them. Elys believed Mother knew all.

The second pair of green eyes suddenly met hers for a second, making her head tilt as she watched back. Want to join us? Still enough time left before boarding. The girl had spoken, those eyes like staring straight into the mirror. Eye to eye to eye, Elys had promised herself. Had the spell brought her to this one?

It was entirely possible, she decided as she moved closer.

"Join you in what?" She asked, her voice coming out casual. It hardly seemed like a proper game. No limbs seemed to be getting lost. Slow steps lead her forward to the group, sitting down as her green gaze remained fixed on the girl with the eyes like her. The glow of the was indeniable. Mother pushed her to stay at her own reflection and Elys could see the glow in her eyes grow stronger in time. These eyes though seemed even stronger, she considered, causing her mesmerizing attention to the girl who invited her to join them in whatever this was. "Who are you?" The question rolled off her tongue curiously, still watching. Even Mother did not possess the true green in her own eyes the way Elys did.
