Dominion Devil is in the Detail | Agents of Chaos Dominion of the Empty Hex SE of The Deep

Objective: Find Minerva

The sounds of the chain blade died away as the vagaari around her didn't have much to say and Bundori was tanding there for a moment. There were some limbs but not really dead people.. no she knew how to strike and make sure they would still be able to speak at least for now... "Where is my sister?" She said it holding one of them up with the force and some random woman ran through stopping and looking at the carnage as Bundori tossed the shrieking vagaari aside to crawl and slip. The woman was speaking and she raised an eyebrow looking at her. "WHat happened to all of them... ths is sickening." She spoke finally and brushed some hair aside. "Ah lad I need you to do something for me." The woman looked at her. "Contain the calamity that is your mammaries and walk away while we handle things here."

Scherezade was almost animated with laughter and giggles from the whole situation. The Bridesmaid The Bridesmaid , usually shy with the occasional quirk, was coming out of her shell and feeling more and more comfortable with trying to bite back. It was all done in a friendly atmosphere. But how she talked to Scherezade's cousin for a moment… Okay. So that meant the girl wasn't completely new around here. There was definitely something going on and the deWinter girl was going to sniff it out properly once this whole business of tackling invaders was done with.

"Good," Scherezade grinned to Morgan, "'cuz we're about to get scary once we're on the other ship."

And then her cousin said she would be coming. Scherezade grinned, and the entire group finally moved from the AoC ship and boarded the enemy ship. Immediately, she could scent the life that was there. She could feel the warmth of blood on several levels aboard the ship, could sense people both above and below. The only problem was that her Blood Hound senses didn't actually let her sense who was Agents of Chaos peeps and who was the enemy.

But, she supposed, she was about to find out.

Scherezad signaled with her right arm to some of the people in the squad. "Find our people," she ordered them, "If you meet enemy forces, ping us. We're about to leave this place a pool of blood."

Almost as though on cue, the moment they were gone, a handful of Vagaari appeared, all dressed in their gear, ready to shoot at everything and anyone. An hour ago, perhaps, they might have considered trying to take Scherezade and her teammates in as slaves. Force knew they could all fetch incredibly high prices. But they had no intention of doing anything like that.

Unlike most times, Scherezade's blades did not fan around her now. Instead, she focused her gaze on the enemies and then smiled. For a handful of seconds, it seemed like nothing was happening, but then the small twitches in their bodies made it very known that something was. It was their blood she was calling there and then, calling it from their very veins, calling it to come through their pores and cells and skin and obey her.

Scherezade was a Warrior, a Blood Hound. She didn't have the patience required to take people's minds over in meaningful ways, didn't have the ability to play with people's brains. No. Instead, she went directly to what made them live, to what enabled them to breathe, to the very essence that allowed them to exist. And then she called upon that essence, using the abilities that severe trauma and a certain book had unlocked for her so long ago, and she yanked.

The twitches became more violent as the Vagaari began to scream, the blood coming out of every single pore in their body. Their skins turned into the color of deep angry bruises as the blood first swelled out of it and then sprayed like from a fountain, their eyes, ears, noses, and mouths, all turning into blood spray centers as well.

the Sithling did nothing to protect herself as the spray of blood landed on her. If her battle mates did nothing to protect themselves, they too would be quickly drenched in that blood as well. But she didn't mind. She loathed the taste of blood, but the feel of it, the knowledge she was covered in it and that not a single drop of it was her own, that… That was her power, her strength.

By blade and blood.

Of course, this was before the Wolvkil made an appearance, standing over the carcasses of its overlords. Scherezade only needed one look to know that her trick wouldn't work on that thing.

"So we need to either domesticate that cuddle floof, or we need to kill it," she said. The wolvkil snarled. "And fast!" she suggested.

Blaster shots and slugs were flying all around her, but Madalena only had eyes for the little house that they were all attacking. She didn't need to look, she didn't need to babysit. She knew her people. She might not have had any one on one time with Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas or extensively seen what Conn Dagorian 's training was, but they were both here. She would not have them be elsewhere if she could; she knew the worth of her people, she knew the worth of them whether they were fresh and green, or veteran and experienced. She was nothing as a leader without those who followed her, and the Hunt was less than nothing with its Hunters.

And so it was that she trusted them - as well as the rest who had come with them today - as she darted forward.

Within moments, Madalena stood with a few others inside the farm house. There were more Vagaari there, and she could feel their presence within the Force. Orders went to go after them, to either kill them inside the house or provoke them into making a run for it, where the snipers were ready to shoot them down.

The walls of the house still shook, the tornado that Madalena had conjured still threatening to rip it out from its grounds.

But she was on a trail for something else now. If any of her Hunters wanted to join her, they were welcome to, as she moved deeper into the house, kicking doors down, looking for… One Vagaari jumped on her and Madalena hmpf'd in surprise, staggering two steps backwards before she pulled Meymad out and separated its body into two.

And now she could hear it, the sound that had drawn her into this direction.

The sounds of children, crying.

It was one thing to harm children that did not belong to the Scintilla. But Madalena would not let any of those that were part of it come to any harm. If there were ships with children, she would find them. If someone was hurting them, she would destroy them.

Another Vagaari jumped on Madalena, knocking her sideways. But it was too late for it, she had already seen the children. She knew where they were. And she knew she was getting them out. She, or one of her squad people.

With an oomph she hit the wall next to her, she reached for her weapon a second time, though it was kicked from her grip before she could re-ignite it.

Madalena cursed.

The joy sparked inside of Alwine as Larentia took her hand, but she hoped the depths of it failed to show on her face. The last thing she needed was to accidentally push the other lupine away for being overly enthusiastic, an emotion that even Larentia knew that Alwine showed rarely if ever.

Larentia said that she was not just yet in danger, and Alwine nodded. Time had a funny way of playing on them all like that; but, she remembered all too well when those words had been in her own mouth as well. And how she had only later learned that they were a lie, and just how deep that lie ran. She had promised herself to never do what her own mother had done, to continue the lies, not to others, but to herself. And she had miserably failed at that - several times by now.

Some vows were not always meant to be kept. The knowledge of tha pierced Alwine's heart almost as sharply as the abandonment of her brothers.

"Are we changing it for the better though?" she could not help herself but ask. "Zonju, Alderaan, Kuat, Kesh, Zoscha, and now Ryloth and Siskeen… We've liberated a few planets, but have we by doing so truly changed this galaxy in any way?"

Her fingers crossed across Alwine's flesh, eyes searching for the woman's as she spoke her piece, her knowledge; Larentia knew what she knew, what she hoped to achieve in the change of the future to come. Were they changing it for the better.... the other wolf wondered right. "Time will tell," Larentia admitted the truth of her efforts.
She was no true seer, she was able to tell the future in her endeavors. Alwine named planets, not all of the truly different in their path than they truly meant to be...; the future was truly changed but had it been enough?? Zonju, Alderaan, Kuat, Kash, Zoacha and now Ryloth..."
Larentia spoke: "I remember mother spoke of so many of these worlds as part of Confederacy, Conferady First; this must be the change." It to have been; it had to have been the first.

Time would tell. That was as diplomatic of an answer as there ever was one, but Alwine nodded. There was no point in pestering Larentia about it; if the Lupine had a firm answer to give, she would have most likely given it, and Alwine had never been one to demand what she merely wanted to hear, though she could not deny that to hear a yes would have somewhat soothed her nerves.

But then Larentia spoke once more, and now Alwine froze in her place. This must be the change. There was something in those words, something that suggested that things weren't… Normal? No, that was not the correct term. There was something else that Larentia was saying, yet not saying at the same time. To say that Alwine's ears would not have risen pointedly in curiosity or perhaps even suspicion had she been in wolf form would have been to lie.

And still, she did not wish to push the girl away. She could only hope, that with time, Larentia would trust her enough with the truth. Alwine smiled gently, and pulled her hand back, brown eyes never leaving the other Lupine.

"What is it like?" she found herself asking. The one question she had never had anyone to ask before. She had never even spoken privately with Katrine about anything, and the rest of the Lupines she had met… Conditions had never been right for that. "What is it like, to grow up a Lupine without needing to conceal it?"

In entering the farmhouse, Ivixa knew that she was stepping out of her domain.

The large rifle went on her back as she took out her pistol and loaded a magazine into it, along with a single Brimstone round for good measure, although it was unlikely that it would ever be of use in the close-quarters of the farmhouse. Regardless, she followed after the Aspect of Death and the swordsman as they tore their way through the Vagaari in the farmhouse. Ivixa did her job in providing support and acting as a rear guard as the small group made their way through the rooms. In doing so, when one of the Vagaari jumped onto Madalena, she aimed at the raider’s chest and fired a trio of shots, which were enough to rip through his armor before sending him sprawling to the ground in the throes of death.

Seeing the Aspect’s lightsaber on the floor, Ivixa picked it up and tossed it back to her with a deferential nod, before turning back to cover her while she recovered from the blow.

Up until now, the sounds of violence had been so cacophonous that she had not noticed the screams of crying children within the house. Only now were the harsh, discordant notes of blades rending through flesh and steel punctuated by the cries of children.

In spite of her physical limitations, the sounds were more than enough to spur Ivixa into action.

A Vagaari sprung from the shadows, but Ivixa was fast, an inherent characteristic of her species which allowed her the ability to process and react to stimuli with preternatural speed. Just as his vibroblade was primed to swing at Ivixa’s neck, two slugs from her pistol buried themselves into the raider’s chest at point-blank. From there, Ivixa took the lead, advancing into the next room and immediately catching a pair of blaster bolts in the chest, although not before managing to snap off an accurate shot which struck the neck of one of the Vagaari in the room. However, before they could catch her a third time, Ivixa grunted and rolled herself into cover behind a nearby table as the intense heat from the blaster bolts painfully seared her skin. Fortunately, the armor had done its job, and although she’d need burn treatment after, she could still fight for the time being.

And so, Ivixa unsheathed her vibroblade, let loose a savage cry, and threw herself into what was left of the fight.

Larentia believed in her words. Time would tell. There was nothing but time, the future; tomorrow. It was all coming for each and every one of them, no matter their actions today but because of the actions of today. She had made herself a one-woman army, in fear for her own life and in the fear of her whole pack.

The future was coming, all Larentia could do would play her part and hope she was doing well for them all.

Offered hand was taken back, Larentia noted and released it without complaint, but noticed the brown gaze on her still. She returned them, blue irises meeting the brown ones. She was raised to never lower her gaze to anyone. There were few that were truly her equal and Alwine was surely one of them. They were comrades in battle, but for Larentia, it was so much more. She looked up to Alwine more than the woman could truly know.

Alwine's question had come first, confusing her. What is it like? Her head tilted ever so slightly as she tried to grasp what she was asked. Then an elaboration had come. What was it like to be Lupine without needing to hide it. She understood quickly, she remembered what she had been told when she had been little of the Lechners, of Strewjon. Concealment kept the siblings alive. It wasn't until they had gone that had slowly started to learn to accept what they were, each of them differently. "Normal," she admitted, feeling somewhat guilty to be saying it now. "I've heard of wolves that hid and I couldn't begin to imagine what it could be like." Larentia wasn't entirely sure if she should admit that she knew Alwine's story or not but she chose to pick her words a little more carefully, and let Alwine be the one to tell her if she so chose to.

"I've never feared for what I was, I've never been afraid of anyone knowing. I've always been raised to be myself." There had never been a shame, never been fear. Lupine was who Larentia was. She knew Mother was looked down upon as a little girl, among women who feared her for being different despite looking just like there and perhaps that too had played a part in the way she had been raised but more so, it had been her destiny to come. She was to be the first of them born on their ancestral world, the first true Lupine to sit upon the throne of her ancestors, born and raised among its people. It was most of what Larentia would know growing up. "What was it like for you?" Larentia finally dared to ask the other woman. While she knew of what Mother had said, she couldn't recall ever asking Alwine this; making her wonder that perhaps now was the time for it.

In truth, Elys didn't know where this would lead. She had sought a different mission, an entirely different spell had been cast. It had clearly worked though Elys did wonder if it had worked the way it was supposed to work; she couldn't tell for sure just yet. She was, however, no stranger to danger. She walked in danger plenty of times in her life, either of her own accord or at the behest of Mother. She walked out of it every time though; and that was how she planned on today to go as well. Hellys would be victorious, she would make Mother proud.

The other girl requested they find their people but if they encountered enemy forces to ping. They would leave the place in a pool of blood. A small smirk spread across the girl's face; she had a feeling she was going to like this one.

A small group of them disappeared, another one appeared. These had odd faces, Elys noted as her head tilted. She'd seen monsters in her time but had more horns, scales, claws... these just had odd faces. She would wait, watching. Clearly, they were here to harm but observing the brunette, she seemed unphased and she seemed to be at something. It would be a sight to behold, the hellspawn took note as the warriors began to shake, twitch, and finally explode; blood covering them. Elys did not hesitate, letting the blood wash over her. "Delicious," the blonde muttered as she licked around her lips, tasting the blood of their enemies. "I would love that power." Oh, for sure, she would.

The new creature appeared and a choice was given. Either domesticate the cuddle floof or kill it. Elys looked at the creature as it snarled. He seemed far more like the demons of home. He was not the domestic kind though. "Not all hell beasts can be tamed. This one needs to die," Elys shared as she summoned the Force to her side. "Strike quick," the hellspawn instructed as she moved a step closer to the emerald-eyed one and reached out strength as the monster, paralyzing him; keeping him in place. The creature roared in anger as her telekinetic power overheld him. As he calmed, Elys observed again. His claws were dangerous, he would kill them quick given the chance. There was no time to domesticate this hell-beast.

Normal. Alwine almost laughed at that single, little word. Normal. What was normal? She had no answer to that. None of the situations she had ever been in during her short life could ever be described as normal. She wasn't certain she even knew what it was meant to feel like. The only thing Larentia said that Alwine could truly comprehend was always behind herself.

But that, within itself, could never paint the picture that Alwine longed, no, yearned, to see.

She remained silent, mulling over the words. Never fear, never been afraid. Those were words she'd heard often enough. Words she herself had, once upon a time, used, on more than one occasion. Yet as life progressed and Alwine gained experience in living away from Stewjon, she had come to realize…

"Not fear," she found herself answering, her mouth catching up before her thoughts did, "They wanted me to be afraid. My mother, my father, sometimes I think maybe even my brothers. But it wasn't fear that decorated my years on Stewjon. It was anger."

She remembered. When her mother's hands had come down on her, to hit her. She had never feared the pain, had never truly feared her mother's wrath. She had been angry though, furious, with her inability to strike back. With the need to take it, to accept it, to fill the role of the silent and passive daughter, because it was the only way she'd been told they would manage to keep their secret.

And what a terrible secret it was. Non-humans, in a planet of humans, that was more than sufficiently aware that the galaxy was full of other species, and still chose to be ridiculous about it. Alwine never doubted, not even now, that if their secret had come out, that they all would've been burned. Or maybe skinned first for their fur, and then burned.

"I was not permitted to be myself," she continued, her voice drifting off ever so slightly, "Not even as the human part of me. I had to remain silent, to remain dutiful. A quiet servant, who did as she was told, and kept her chin and eyes cast down at all times. If I wanted to be me, I had to run into the forests in the dead of the night, when nobody else save sometimes my brothers could see."

Those moments in the woods… She had thought, at the time, that those were the happiest moments of her life. How wrong she had been.

"If I had the freedom now…" ALwine said, returning her gaze to Larentia, "I would burn Stewjon to the ground. Leave no one alive, leave not a remainder of them. And if I ever find my mother's family… I would turn them to cinders as well, for what they have done to us."

Hell beast? Scherezade blinked, but made no comment. Her cousin was definitely not part of the ordinary deWinter mold, at least not in the way that counted for this. She couldn't think of anyone in their family that would refer to a big floof as a hellbeast except maybe her grandpas.

Elys then did something. Scherezade wasn't sure until she turned her gaze to look at her cousin, noticing she was… Well, she didn't know what exactly she was doing, but she saw the result easily enough - the "hellbeast" was sort of paralyzed.

"I'm thinking we slice his head off?" she suggested, "That's a lot of good fur we can use. Fancy a new fur coat, cousin?" she grinned.

A moment later, Scherezade had already jumped, using Elys' hold on the beast as the opportunity to land straight on its back and wrestle until she was seated above its shoulders, her thick thunder thighs holding her firmly in place, the Tessen held with both hands.

"KEEP HIM STEADY!" she screamed, her muscles working extra hard to keep her from falling. All she needed was for her cousin to buy her only a few more heartbeats… Only that, and they could kill it.

Most of Madalena's actual training had usually involved people more or less her size, or opponents bigger than her. It hadn't been until the Agents of Chaos that she realized she was going to be surrounded by a much bigger variety of species that were much more diverse in shapes and sizes. Still, when Ivixa joined the fight from close up and ceased snipering from a longer distance, it had taken the Sith Sorceress a split of a moment to respond accordingly and not accidentally try to smoosh the tiny female against a wall.

As small as Ivixa was, her passion and battle lust were beyond large. Later, Madalena would smile as she looked back on that moment, the blue skinned one having more or less gotten her butt out of a sticky situation, and her weapon was suddenly back in her hands.

The next few moments were a blur. Most of what Madalena remembered was the sound of screams in the background, and the sound of their enemy's spine going crnch! as she and Ivixa disposed of it. As his corpse dropped to the ground, she leaned against the wall, breathing hard, her eyes closing as she focused on their surroundings, feeling for life.

"I think we're safe," she gasped hard, "I believe… It's just us left."

Glowing green eyes opened and looked to the wall. She raised her arm and yanked it out of its place with the Force. Behind it, there wasn't one, but three children.

"You're safe now," she smiled gently at them, crouching down on a knee. They didn't seem to be tied up or somehow locked into place; not by anything physical, at least. "Come on. Let's get you cleaned, fed, and find your parents."

Hopefully, their parents were still alive.

Closing Post

The hatch fell away to reveal the darkened interior of the Vagaari frigate, to the enhanced vision of her armor it was bright as day. She could send the electronic systems to pick out individual rivets at a hundred meters if she felt like it. Instead she activated the penetrating radar and began picking out her targets. A normal breaching team would have moved to clear the gap as quickly as possible, but she wanted to block it off and was content to simply jump down to the floor beneath and ready her massive Jako hunter magnum. A moment passed before the slavers rounded the corner or jumped from the doorways lining the halls to ambush her as they fired wildly. In response, Domino took a half-step forward to angle her body and present a narrower profile. Her first return shot blasted a depleted baradium AP slug through one defender's chest and into the neck of the one behind him as their shots rocked her armor. Stepping into a door frame to avoid more fire for the moment, she readied a pair of grenades and tossed them down the hall, the fragmentation setting off the concussion in a double blast that she felt even in her cover and heavy armor.

Leaning out, she unleashed another three shots that silenced the remaining defenders, wounded or otherwise. Popping the cylinder, she carefully pulled the four spent casings as she walked over the bodies towards what she approximated to be the central corridor as she finished reloading. Turning the corner out of it bounded some horrific looking canine, claws scrabbling the steel decking as it bounded towards her, to close, to quick for the gun, it leapt and Domino sent the fist of her unoccupied hand smashing into its mouth where the creature happily tried chewing on her armored forearm as it threatened to pull her over. That is until she activated the flamethrower lodged in its mouth. Liquid flame scorched it from the inside before it could yelp.

And so it went as Domino brutally put down any resistance between herself and the bridge until only a final slaver stood between herself and the blast doors keeping her out. A squeal rose from the ship's comm as her gun came up a final time. "Leave now or we jettison the pods and kill the ones you're here to save." She could hear the slight tremble in the voice, he hid it well but what was left of the crew radiated fear. She could feel them beyond the bulkhead, even without the armor's sensors. "Just turn and go and they get to live, its the only outcome that they get to." His hand was hovering over a console screen, Domino didn't want him anywhere near it. An invisible force grabbed his head and yanked it to the ceiling where it was smashed. Others on the bridge scrambled for controls or watched on in terror as their mates were quickly reduced in similar manners. Heads twisted, bodies broken, or simply torn in half. The last pirate sank to his knees before her, weapon forgotten, as the screaming petered off. "Please..." Was all he said as the barrel of Domino's gun tracked him, and for once Domino gave the slavers a reply. "How many asked you the same thing?" The heavy recoil up her arm was satisfying.

"Sweet Kahllina, this is Domino. Frigate is pacified, begin prisoner recovery operations. Have Blue Nose move to support the first boarding action when it's able to." She looked down to her splattered and scoured armor, not really the first thing she wanted the recovered captives to see. "Bring tarps to cover some of the halls, no reason to further scare these people. I'll be standing by if needed." She pulled out the datapad that could access the tactical feed set up for her and scowled at the blaster damage that had cut it nearly in half, she could keep watch with her comm or HUD. "Domino out."

---------THE GUARDIAN AND BOARDING PARTIES-------------

Rimes did not shy away from listening to the comm's of the boarding parties as they swept through the vessels. Some falling to enemy fire, some from the Wolvkil. They never stopped, the small group moving with ease and keeping their rear guarded as those with heavy weapons focused fire on the Vagaari taking cover. One was using a luminescent paint in every group, having started spraying lines against the floor as their way back. Not only for themselves, but also for the people they did manage to free. Scatterguns roared when the Wolvkil came forward. One being dispatched viciously by a series of knife strokes from an especially team oriented boarding group. All that was left of the beast was ribbons when they were done. Each group plodded on, becoming especially vicious when their people were harmed, each slowly reporting in when they captured the bridge, or had eliminated the majority of the crew.

There was a report from the other parties involved, the two vessels that had deployed beside them reported successful capture and control of the enemy vessels. Rimes breathed a sigh of relief as the vessels came into their control, some taking severe damage given the intensity with which the boarding party had to remove the previous owners, but remaining in functional condition.

---------ELSEWHERE IN SPACE--------------

Dimitri and the Interceptors outside made slow but steady work of the Vagaari fighters, their numbers taking more hits from the point defenses that enemy starfighters veered towards than the actual starfighters that they could easily slip behind. Rimes kept Dimitri quietly informed of major events. The large group that had boarded the war vessel moved through, clearing the troublemakers as the Interceptors cleaned up the fighters around the large warship and the Guardian halted before it. Waiting. The evacuation process of each one began, a second though occurring as a few asked about simply using the vessels to return everyone rather than packing the ships they were coming towards.

Sheets and tarps were brought in, a few of the boarding party of each group setting about the grim task of naming those that they lost as the list's were passed out. They took headcount of those remaining also, the ships under their control now as the last of the Vagaari were hunted down and the Wolvkil finished off.

0tGYzAi.png

With Domino and her crew cleaning up their own portion of the captives, the use of the invading groups vessels was eventually decided on. Taken back to the floating mess for deconstruction and study, the Vagaari vessels would serve another now. The majority of the captured people had been saved. The continued zealotry of Festerruman's group was noted, but as they were largely efficient nothing was said. The troops fielded by Rime's were largely successful, and the Vagaari bodies littered the ships with limited casualties. Most hurt had only suffered minor injuries, flesh wounds, or grazes.

At the Scintilla, the groups had successfully routed the remaining Vagaari inside the agricultural dome. A more pointed searching sweep by similar groups revealing the presence of a singular Vagaari vessel remaining as those willing dispatched the crew and freed those caught aboard the ship.

Most of the people taken would find their way home, those unable to be returned where returned with honor, their families notified and arrangements made.

As a result of the unexpected incursion, the Agents of Chaos decided to push further than their small space to better secure the surrounding area around them, and provide an early warning system in lieu of being reactive to possible threats that came into their space.

The Wild Hunt squad gathered for a sparse moment with the Aspect of Death, a few curt words enough to dispatched them with their task. Eliminate the Vagaari hiding in the house. Conn followed Madalena Antares Madalena Antares , the bloodied vibrosword jutting from his fist as they set out to search the rooms. The structure groaned and shuddered under the assault of the Sith-born whirlwind. A glance behind him revealed the Asa'nyx sniper, Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas , bringing up the rear. Her sniper rifle had been shouldered for a pistol more suited to close quarters. The trio made their way, room to room, quickly dispatching the unfortunate Vagaari raiders they encountered. The loud ring of the small sniper's handgun was near deafening as it tore apart it's targets, while Madalena's lighsaber and Conn's Force-imbued vibrosword left dismembered corpses in their wake.

The cries of the children eventually came to Conn's attention as well, discerning that the sound was what guided the Aspect of Death to her goal. When Ivixa was hit, Conn darted to her side behind the table to check on her, throwing up a Force barrier to deflect any attacks. But the buxom, petite bundle of dynamite bounced back from the blaster strikes and flung herself back into the fray,Conn behind her.

The cacophony of battle quieted when the raiders ceased to appear around every corner. Conn jumped back as Madalena pulled down the wall between them and the children. In a sudden and unexpected change of demeanor, the violent Aspect knelt before the children, offering hope and solace to the frightened kids. Conn sheathed the gory vibrosword, fearing it would further frighten their new charges. Conn likewise stooped and smiled at the youngest of the trio, gently taking her up in his arms as they gathered the children to move out.

In Alwine's Apartment | Wearing this | Alwine Daye Alwine Daye

Her choice of words caused a laughter in the other wolf, making Larentia pause for a moment and watch her as she processed the meaning of it. After a beat, she'd come to see it might have made sense. She had no other way to explain how she felt about how it had felt being Lupine, growing up free to someone who hadn't felt it. Katrine would probably react similarly; even though she knew even her upbringing was different than that of Alwine's. Neither of them were still given what Larentia had been given; the freedom to be who she was, the knowledge she was stronger than any human of Figaro Favoura VII, the strength to rule someday.

There was so much she had been given, what they had all been denied. She understood there was a difference.

Larentia's lips thus formed into a small smile as she watched the lighter haired Lupine laugh, taking it as a good sign in seeing her laugh at all, to accept her answer as such. As she spoke of never fearing, Alwine responded. It wasn't fear for her. They did want her to be afraid; her family and brothers but it wasn't fear which she felt. It was anger. To an extent, Larentia could imagine. Anger would come naturally to a wolf. It made them stronger as well. "Anger can be a formidable weapon for a wolf," Larentia weighed in. Perhaps it was the enemy then as well for their own strength in their wolf form was too great already but it was still a weapon in its own right, fueling them to fight, to survive, to win against their opponent.

It sounded far worse though. Alwine was never allowed to be herself, not even the human part of her. They demanded silence, a quiet servent. Involuntarily, the wolf shock, anger spready across her being at those words. She knew from their conversations in her own past that Alwine's life on Stewjon was never easy but she had never heard an of this; perhaps because she was too young to understand then but now, she was hearing it for the first time; feeling herself, for the first time hate the Lechner bloodline for what they did. Their planet's beliefs be damned, they should have been above it for what they were. Alwine could have but a taste of freedom at night, in the forests.

Alwine expressed she wanted to burn Stewjon to the ground, to burn even her mother's family. "I would gladly help with this," Alwine snapped, the taste of anger lacing her own words. "What you've experienced was cruel and demeaning of a wolf. Even in a place that like that, our own kin should have helped you rise above it, should have treated you better. You are far better than any human." Mother loved her humans, she always would. As would Larentia, there was no doubt about it. They were family, friends, lovers... yet, when it came to what she was and what she was to become, there was no putting down, no doubt. The wolves were superior.

She leaned forward, her hand finding Alwine's, placing it over hers. "Say the word when you're ready, Alwine, and I will help you. They're unworthy of the life they were given, they treatment of Lupine, their own kin espeially, is disgraceful. When you're ready, I will help you."
