The Angry Wolf

"You are not thinking, Gerwald," Alwine replied, "I almost died because you broke your promise to your siblings. A woman you claimed to love died because of a broken promise of yours - twice. In both cases, the breaking of the promise was your doing, and entirely your responsibility. But it is not now. You could not babysit her and you were not on Taanab, along with a lot of other people that were not there either."
She sighed. He was being the stupid stubborn fool that he loved being. People often accused her for believing she was always right. The trouble was that she was always right. Her brother, could not claim the same. And still, she kept her voice soft. She knew the oaf too well. To talk down harshly on him would not help her message come across and would only push him away.
Held now by him, she was surprise, though she tried her utter best not to let it show. Her brother needed her now. But he also needed to know the truth.
"She was more powerful in the Force than you, more experienced in battles and wars than you, and she was more advanced and professional than you in any conceivable way. What makes you think that you have anything within you that could extract vengeance on the one who killed her? You are not going to avenge her death, Gerwald Lechner, you are going to kill yourself and I cannot allow you to do so."
Still in the embrace, Alwine looked up. She saw the tear on her brother's face and she made no move towards it, not wishing to draw attention if anyone was looking. To others, they would seem like nothing more than friends or siblings embracing. They needn't know what else was going on.
"I beg of you," she whispered softly, too low for human ears to pick up, "By the bond we share as siblings, as Lechners, as Lupines. Do not do this. Do not make me have to bury you or wonder where your corpse is or need to nurse you back from near death. She is gone. You are still here. You are alive. Live."
