- Strengths & Weaknesses:
[ENHANCEMENT] - Every Void Trooper has gone through rigorous training and biochemical enhancement treatments before they are send into battle. As a result they have a distinct edge against genetically unmodified individuals. Because they do not lean on cybernetics for support they don't have the same weakness against ion damage like cyborgs.
[ENHANCEMENT] - Any change in the biochemical make-up of a sentient can have unforeseen consequences. Even those that survive the treatments still have a distinctly larger chance of having to grapple with depression, migraines, uncontrolled rage and the sort. This can be treated with a variety of weapons, but these men and women aren't the most stable of individuals. In fact, they can be a risk to themselves and to those around them, ally or not.
[DELUSION] - Furthermore the lack of cybernetics in their systems deprive the Void Troopers of a sense of grounding. Their strength does not come from foreign objects grafted onto them. Instead it's their own body that is the source of their strength and competence. Those of the Void Corps have a tendency to be arrogant, brash, cocky and eager to push their own limits. It's not a surprise that the turn-over in the Void Corps is substantially higher than of other regiments within Didact. It does not help that they are usually picked for the missions that are distinctly more lethal and dangerous.
- Description: Didact Defense Solutions was contracted twice by the Outer Rim Coalition to serve as a protection detail and mercenary outfit for their missions. Surprise, most of those missions were largely located in space. Itash realized that DDS is wholly unequipped to handle these contracts in an efficient matter. Didact had shown itself competent, yes, but that was only because of the training his Words had received.
Their training was focused around Zero-G combat, extreme environments, boarding and take-over action, slicing, sabotage and other similar pursuits. Didact usually employed cybernetics to enhance the combat efficiency of its personnel, but the extreme environment did not lend itself well towards integrated equipment that was highly sensitive to ion bursts and similar damage. Instead they decided to go for the more unconventional method of bio-chemical engineering and enhancement.
In cooperation with GenPals' clandestine and experimental arm the Void Trooper went through rigorous genetic treatment. Then they were enhanced with trademarked bio-chemical compounds. Mortality ratings were high, but the results spoke for themselves. The Void Troopers were far more disposed to operate in high-stress, high-risk, extreme environmental combat scenarios than those that didn't go through the treatment. Considered a success they find themselves deployed either solo or in cooperation with the Words on secretive missions, contracts that are located on highly dangerous environmental worlds or the cold void of space. To assist them with their work they have standardized gear that fits the operation they are conducting.
