As the illusion fully fell away, her eyes only became more intense and focused as she saw just how much the dark side and his own damaged mind had led to his body becoming twisted and corrupted. It was nothing new to her though. She had seen so much corruption from the dark side, she wasn't fazed. As the shadows surrounded him, that was new, and he unsheathed his sword, she drew her lightsaber and the purple blade ignited.
Falling into a dueling stance so she stood at an angle, with one hand behind her to minimize her target profile, she closed her eyes. She allowed the light side of the Force to just flow through her, trusting in it to guide her actions in this fight so she could try and save her friend. No holding back like on Carida . . . no . . . this was a different fight.
As he raced forward, she opened her eyes in time to see the powerful strike coming towards her shoulder. Pivoting around the attack, she recognized this was going to be a fight where footwork was going to be key. Her brain analyzed his attack as it sailed past her and immediately recognized undertones of Juyo. Power over finesse, would need to be careful then.
The shadows obscuring his body would tire him faster, possibly, it all depended on how much strength he was using to project them, and that was on top of his chosen attacking form. Throwing a feint out, she would continue to probe and feel out his style before she launched a counter-attack.
