Dinner And Dancing

As Arekk gave her the word she was looking for she rested her head against her palm, elbow firmly pressed against the table. Alora rang her finger along the edge of her glass absentmindedly. The food had been impeccable, the wine was amazing and the company only topped it all off. Alora couldn't help but wonder if she was keeping him though. She had simply plucked him off the street and dragged him into a restaurant without a care for the plants he might have had tonight. He did invite her, that much was true, but here she was waffling away the hours in an awkward foreign accent that barely managed to string a complete sentence together.

'I hope I am not keeping you from something tha-hicc-t is being important?'

Alora reached down to her belt and fumbled a little with the drawstrings on a thick leather pouch. Fortunately money wasn't an issue since she'd met the Devil, he'd provided her enough to explore freely when she wanted. Credits still felt like a strange way to pay for things. Alora was used to trading and bartering with things that had more... value. She wasn't aware that the thick metal discs in her hand were, ironically, the most expensive thing she'd ever held.

'I can pay. It is the littlest I can do for spoiling your night.'

"Oh, come on! This is that most important thing."

Alora's doubts were squished right there once Ar'ekk finally spoke, trying to make sure she wasn't getting into anything that could be deemed important. Enjoying a delicious yet expensive meal with a wonderful company like hers was the most important thing that evening and anything else was just an extra. There was nothing for him to do afterwards because he usually went home at this time of the day to relax.

"No, no. Don't bother paying for the dinner, it's already done. That's the least I could do for you."

The gesture was certainly appreciated and he understood Alora's intention of paying for the food but it wasn't necessary, both had the means to pay for anything on Ethos City and this time he just wanted to do it. It wasn't something to prove a point or power over another but more of a friendly gesture for someone so special and interesting. He was glad to meet her and this was his welcoming gift to Lithios.

"You are not spoiling my night. In fact, you made it even better."

Alora grinned like an idiot, helped along by the mind-numbing properties of the wine. She sank back into her chair gently, letting a rather satisfied sigh escape her lips as she settled back against it. There was relief etched on her face from the fact that she wasn't disturbing him after all. After a rather noisy attempt at putting the leather puse back onto her belt she glanced across the table at Arekk. Naturally the night felt like it was coming to an end but Alora didn't want to give up her new found friend just yet. It seemed to matter what part of the Galaxy she was in meeting new people was an inevitability, as was the fact that she never saw them again after that. Or very rarely anyway.

'So, after the food and the drinking what is it people here are doing?'

The night wasn't over yet and if he didn't have anything else to do Alora would make sure to get as much time out of him as possible. She was enjoying both the experience and the company he provided. She hoped against hope he had an idea for what to do with the remainder of the night because she'd reached her limit with social situations.

"Besides murdering each other for a piece of territory? There's some nice nightclubs out there to dance, if that's your thing. You know what those are, right?"

After a big meal that was good enough to fill your stomach for hours there was nothing better but a little dancing at your local club. Shake your skeleton a bit, make acquaintances, share some drinks and have an overall good time. Ar'ekk was all about enjoying his life now after clearing his head on some clouding thoughts and this would prove to be a good opportunity to show Alora that Lithios was more than a big cesspool.

"We would have to rest a little before, though. Walk around the city and then go."

Whatever the plans were after their dinner the slicer was more than willing to go ahead and give her the grand Ethos City tour.

Alora raised one half of her lip upward, giving her a rather confused look. It was safe to say she didn't understand a single word Arekk had just said up to and including nightclubs and dance.

She nodded her head at his next words, letting her frame sink back into the chair. It wasn't a very good idea to have come out for a meal in her armor but she didn't really have many other options. Her fingers set to work on lightly loosening the thick leather belts that held the pieces close to her slim frame. Perhaps if she saw something suitable during their walk she could buy it... After all Metus had made it quite clear her duties wouldn't be limited to fighting or completing missions. There was a social aspect to it so it made sense to have something other than armor. But first...

'What are all of these things? Dance? What is dance?'

She rose from her chair with only a tiny wobble, using the table for balance as she did. A smile was offered his way along with a single pale white hand.

'You can tell me this meaning while we walk.'

"You'll have to see all these things with your own eyes, I cannot explain with words."

The fact that Alora was a foreign, to what extent Ar'ekk was unable to tell, to all these common things that people take for granted every day was amusing to say the least and couldn't feel but excited to show her what it all meant. To experience such emotions and experiences for the first time were unvaluable and the fallen Jedi turned slicer was sure the girl would be able to enjoy all the little things he had mentioned a minute ago.

"Come on, let's walk and talk until we get to the Afterlife."

Quite a name for the finest nightclub of Ethos City, frequented by high-ranking organized crime figures and a bunch of other refined criminals alike. White collar pricks, the kind of scum that smiles in your face but stabs you in the back while you're not looking, people that you don't want as a friend. Both Ar'ekk and Alora found themselves under the heavy rain of Lithios, trademark of the ecumenopolis itself, once again and kicked their legs in motion to reach their destination.

"It's pretty fun, I'm sure you'll love it. I go there all the time! Totally not for the drinks..."

Alora didn't quite understand why he couldn't use words to explain something. Words could explain most things, couldn't they? She shrugged her shoulders and flashed him a charming smile, she would just have to trust him. Alora linked her arm into his, mostly for the extra support as they navigated their way through the tables and chairs decorating the restaurant floor. As they stepped out of the establishment something wet and heavy hit Alora directly on the top of her head.

'WATER FROM THE SKY!' She exclaimed loudly, lifting her hands up to try and catch the drops that fell fast. Nothing ever happened like this on Ochota. She knew what rain was of course, she had heard of it before. The water on their planet had to have come from somewhere, but since the disastrous occurrences of the past century or two nothing of the kind had happened. 'Wow...' Her voice was barely a whisper as she let the water collect in the palm of her leather clad hand. It was pouring.

Alora glanced over at her companion, green eyes sparkling in the down pour they were currently standing in. 'My mind is being exploded.' Her bright, fire red hair hung to her face in clumps but despite the deluge she had a bright grin plastered on her face. She remembered herself suddenly and continued their walk to the club. 'So. Afterlife? People are being dead there?'
