new government characters start as Governors of planets.
As far as "political" RP, we don't really do "politics" as a concept in the First Order in the sense of Senate debates or political scheming or whatever. Democracy is so passé. But rivalries between Moffs and whatnot is within the realm of fair play. You can obviously do what you please, but newcomers to the Government side of things should be aware that the Grand Moff expects propriety and excellence from all those in her government and is not above sacking those who fall short Above all, loyalty to the Supreme Leader is a must; treason of any variety, if discovered, will have tragic consequences.
If you'd like to take a stab at being a governor, take a look at our planetary holdings and select a planet that has no Governor. Governors are expected to participate in roleplays on their planet, contract with corporations for items (defensive installations/weapons/etc.) for their planet, and submit codex locations for their planet (cities, military bases, etc.). Performing admirably as a Governor will land you a promotion to Prefect, where you would be responsible for a multi-planet 'sector', and Prefects who perform well will be invited by the Grand Moff to join the Cabinet (or Moff Council) to hold a brief for a specific department of the Government. This comes with different responsibilities depending on the brief -- for instance, the Foreign Secretary executes the foreign policy decided by the Grand Moff and attends diplomatic functions, whereas the Minister for Development is expected to submit new technologies for the First Order, and so forth.
