Diplomatic Mission - Mandalorian Empire

It's probably the long weekend that is helping the thread to progress slowly. Some people are away.

[member="Gael bar Ammon"] The skirmish started on a bad note before it was even posted. Isley contacted me about Sanya and the Libita with the threat that I either go along with the ME's continued harassment or that he let loose his band of GR haters. When I wouldn't play ball, the thread was dropped.

IC, this whole situation doesn't make much sense. Echoy'la's beskar reserves are incredibly limited, so a rational Mandalorian would have considered the strategic value of simply seizing the mine and new source of beskar and make it work for the ME. You see this in the real world when various powers try to avoid hitting oil fields or facilities during their wars in the middle east.

After that, the ME decides to truck it to Yutan with a fleet on a literal ego trip against a private entity that has zero to do with GR, but then the location magically switches to Sekalus when Blonde is informed that the LIbitia is actually located at the far corner of the galaxy. A trip I guess takes days or weeks depending on the route you take (all main hyperlanes that get you close to Sekalus are at least partially controlled by other major factions). Probably costs billions to move that much hardware so far. ME is awesome indeed to have the resources to throw around fleets willy nilly. However, it may have been faster using your connections with the Senate to have us put a lean on Sekalus to come up with some kind of reasonable settlement.

Now, with no IC provocation, the Mandalorian Empire launches a terrorist attack on Yutan, right on the heels of a previous one against the UCM's capital.

When I get back to posting after the holiday weekend, I'll be drawing up a resolution in the Senate to have the Mandalorian Empire and Black Tie Syndicate officially branded as terrorist organizations. IC, the ME has shown their true face as being just as despicable as the One Sith. It's a shame to see you tied to such brutes.

[member="Sanya Val Swift"] It's best that you stay out of that thread if you haven't entered already.

[member="Lady Kay"] No, this was a meeting that I had set up with Isley way before current events.

So this might be me playing Devils Advocate but where did you see the words or have any IC way of knowing this was ME? I am just asking cause I want you to be careful with what you do using ooc knowledge I know a few people I talk to on skype are just waiting to point fingers at you guys and scream meta game.

I don't fault you for standing your ground, and I don't fault you for how you see things now. You have the rationale to back it up, but I think there's a few fallacies where the you can at least give the ME the benefit of the doubt.

This is taken from the ME faction application. I don't think it requires much more explanation as to the IC element of motivations.
In the beginning, there was a vision.

The Fires of War were all that could be seen: and in the depths of these flames were those indistinguishable from Battle itself. They were the Mandalorians. In this vision, they were cloaked with glory and cut a swath through the very heavens. They ascribed to the old ways: where only Conquest and the Resol'nare were Law. In the modern era, this vision came alive in the form of the Mandalorian Empire. It is a nation built upon War, but also Honor. It is an entity born to clash with the greatest of the Galaxy, to expand across the stars, and to become the very definition of War.
We are based upon the ancestral version of the culture, where warfare is the lifeblood of all we do. We strive to challenge ourselves by clashing with the powers of the Galaxy and proving our worth with every thread. Conversely, we also attempt to do so whilst building bridges between the writers who battle with and against us. As of late, inter-faction warfare has been a sore topic; yet we strive to remedy that.
When war (albeit with honor) is one of, if not the chief principle of the faction, why is it so hard to believe they would waste valuable resources to make a point and set an example?

Additionally, the attack on Yutan isn't affiliated with the Mandalorian Empire. Some participants may be dual members of both the BTS and ME, but this isn't a ME directed or affiliated attack. A Ctrl + F search revealed no mention of "mando", "Mandalorian", or "empire". Pretty sure you're wrong on this account.

I still think a resolution can be reached between the GR and ME, if only a non-aggression pact, but all that goes away if you put that resolution to the floor. You alienate the ME and thus make an enemy out of them. IC presently, Gael plays the intermediary between the two. If that resolution happens, Gael won't be as GR friendly as he once was. I'd really hate for this to happen because you acted out of emotion - I urge you to take a step back, reevaluate, and carry on with emotion removed and/or pass it on to an FA, it sounds like Caius is willing to step up to the plate.

Sounds like a good idea. It's always a pleasure RPing with you ;)

I... I... I forgot how good some people were at spin doctoring... [member="Suravi Teigra"] sad to say at this point really there is only one maybe two directions and I am sorry I forgot to warn you but can't sink to their levels boss lady. We are the republic we can't rp with double standards or meta-gaming or throw hissy fits if we don't like someones idea of rping for a make believe hobby or try to force people to do what we want by making everything uncomfortable and hostile to them. We have to be the bigger people and let them have their way... or at least whatever way we want to give them that doesn't involve selling out members as you said or helping support cyber harassment. So an IC resolution might not work but well doing what admins and RPJ's ask people to do when encountering something or someone they don't want to be involved with will work. "Ignore it/them and rp in a way that is fun for you. We can always rebuild words on an internet board.

but it was asked all republic members not feed their need for attention and not participate in the thread to the faction on skype until she returns from the holiday weekend.

[member="Nefertari Sovint"] as you are maybe the only one who joined please wait until Suravi has returned. She is sometimes on for the Republic chat if any other members have questions.
