Discipline (Jen v. Lurcano)

Lurcano Car'dann

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
Lurcano was sitting on a chair, his feet up on a table while he lounged back lazily. He nursed a drink, and waited patiently. He had been contacted about his message on the fight club boards. He didn't know who he was fighting, but it was not of any matter to him. 'Whatever happens, happens. I'm sure everything will go fine; eh? I mean really, how bad could it be?' Lurcano tilted his chair back down to the ground, downed the drink; and turned to the punching bag. He started to warm up just a bit, and did his routine stretches while he waited for the other combatant. Just a regular day in the life of a Red Raven Enforcer. He hoped this fight would at least be interesting.

Only a small crowd had showed up to watch the fight, the large room lit by a single lamp that made the boxing cage stand in deep contrast to the rest of the floor, faint sweeps of magneta and cyan seen here and there, reminiscences or shadows of the hectic city life outside. She was on Antecendant? Right? Or was it Nar'Shaddaa... Hmmm..

Truth be told, it had been some time since Jennifer had been here (wherever that was) and even though everything was so ungodly familiar it was obvious that things had changed. But right now and right here the rest of the ravens intrique didn't matter much. That was after all why she was here. Wasn't it? To forget a bit and let steam that had build up over the last month vent? Or maybe she was just down right crazy.. Yes, that was probably it.

Jen slowly moved up towards the ring, finishing the last sip from the cognac in her hand, placing it at the corner of the ring as she crawled into it, bobbing a bit about on the palms on her feet as if to test them out, her white ryn tail swinging behind her in rhythm to her routine warm up jump-about. Her amber eyes darted loosely about the room to check out who had shown up to see the fight, or perhaps even more importantly, who she was about to fight tonight. Thinking about it now she should probably have looked up the name before she agreed to this fight.. Oh well.

Quickly checking the white boxing wrappings around her feet and hands she deemed herself ready, wearing only what needed in a fight such as this, a simple tanktop and a pair of shorts. "C'mon then, whoever that may be!" She yelled with the teasing voice of hers, being unable to see much that wasn't the boxing ring due to the spotlight hovering down upon it.

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
Jen: "C'mon then, whoever that may be!"

Lurcano just chuckled again. As he rushed up to enter the boxing ring he thought to himself, 'Ah, so I'm fighting a girl? This could be fun. Doubt it'll be to difficult but hey, maybe she's a looker? Any girl that spends her free time in the fight club can't be to bad, right?' Lurcano was disappointed as he entered the ring. He was fighting a small girl, hardly older then 16, and nearly a foot smaller then 'em. His mood immediately soured, and he just shook his head. He shouted out to the girl, trying to keep the disdain out of his voice.

Lurcano Car'dann: "You won't need those wraps. This ain't a boxing match, this is a street fight. Anything goes. Scratching, biting, hair pulling, whatever the kark you want. Though I'm sure it won't come down to that. Do you parents know you're here little girl? Aren't you a bit young to be getting your ass kicked in the fight club?"

As Lurcano spoke, he studied the girl. 'Well kark. And here I was getting excited for nothing.' He motioned for the girl to come here with his two fingers as he smirked at her. 'Might as well have a bit of fun with her then. A slap here, a slap there. Then I'll finish her. Teach her not to waste my karking time, yes that I will.'

As Lurcano rushed onto the stage, Jennifer was finally able to get a proper look at her opponent. His sheer size and relatively tough structure would make sure he had one of the biggest advantages in a game such as this, size and pure strength would always matter a lot when it came to brutality. She continued to bop a bit around on her feet, feeling her weight under her as she prepared herself mentally and somewhat physically.

Brutality wasn't always the way forward, sometimes a flexible mind and body was what was needed, perhaps that was even the beauty of fighting. There was always counters to the form of art the other, the opponent performed and only the best of the best could adapt. Of course, Jennifer still had quite a long way to go in order to be able to adapt in a formless way, but the fact that she had always been the smallest in fights such as this made sure she at least had always tried to counter that form of fighting. At least to a certain extend.

Her smug grin paled for a second as Lurcano talked, her white ryn tail visibly seen stopping swinging in rhythm to her movements as she listened, the expression vanishing as quickly as it came, an overly confident attitude felt emanating from the young girl as she decided to stand still for a second, eyeing up the older man. “Haha, kark you. Practice makes perfect as they say. I’m sure you need it, Grey. Also for your own sake, there’s no need to question my place here.” She grinned slightly at her own comments, yet seeming serious as she continued to watch the man, not recognizing him from any event she had been to “So, Grey, are you one of them shockboxers or wha’?” She yelled across the stage, slowly seeming to adjust her posture to prepare for the start of the match.

Lurcano Car'dann: Lurcano just laughed once more before saying, "We'll see how you fight girlie, then maybe I'll consider talking to you."

As soon as he finished speaking, he began to approach the girl; moving rather quickly. He kept his body low, which in turn lowered his center of gravity. He stared at the girl, watching her every movements and slowly moved in and out of her already small reach. Suddenly he struck as quick as a cobra. Exploding off the balls of his feet he attempted to almost tackle the small girl; and pin her down with all his weight. If his attempt was successful, he would try to grab her hair and slam her head against the floor of the ring.

Even though Jennifer was easy to underestimate and with that not one of the best fighters out there she was definitely, not what many would phrase as a “noob.” She had practiced melee arts such as what they were engaging in now quite a lot of times. This of course made her no champion, but she knew how to deal with most situations. At least to a certain degree.

Having already balanced herself before Lurcano started to move, it wasn’t too hard to navigate as he started to come close, his movement agile and flexible as he quickly skipped in and out of her reach. Of course, reach was always a thing that could be troublesome to calculate and even more so if you only looked at only one aspect of a person. Jennifer had always prided herself on her ability to pull off quite the nasty kicks, so as Lurcano started to grow more aggressive she prepared herself, her posture slightly tilted and left foot behind her right.

Light on her feet as always she soon found herself somewhat close to the railing of the boxing ring, having stepped backwards countless of times as Lurcano had found himself in her reach. However, there was no easy escape now and Lurcano seemed to see the opportunity as well, striking forward with the haste of a snake, brutally moving forward in what would probably be an attempt to tackle Jennifer.

However, by now she was ready, if he had run straight at her it would probably have been a different story though…

Shifting her weight Jennifer quickly bend her left knee so she now stood on her front foot, suddenly extending the left leg out as she tilted her body, twisting it to allow her left, now extended leg to cross towards her right side. Then, with the momentum from both the planet and her muscles, she brought down her heel in a sweep to let it pass back to the left side of her body, attempting to bring it down upon the head of the tackling Lurcano.

All of this was done in an instant and with Lurcano bend, in order to allow for a better stable position, lowering his center of mass, he was in a somewhat perfect height, not that she couldn’t reach up to him, this way it was just easier.

And with gritted teeth she awaited the result.

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
Lurcano was blind sided by the kick, and for a second the only thing that registered across his brain was pain. The kick had smashed his head into the ground, though his momentum had carried him forward so that he was directly underneath her. His eyes blinked furiously as his vision was clouded red from both the blood that was now streaming from his nose, and his rage. He immedieatly picked himself up, still underneath her. HHe attempted to heave her up, a relatively easy task if he was fast enough to catch her. If he was succesful in his attempt, he would try to slam her down into the ground. He have grabbed her by her neck and her pants at the base of her waist. She would be facing the ceiling, and he would move to throw her onto the ground. Assuming she was thrown down he would move to leap onto her, half waiting for her to roll, half expecting her to stay on the ground. He wouldn't expect a kick though. Despite his anger, he still understimated Jen and didn't expect her to take being thrown down onto solid ground very well.

The faint ring or vibration rather, that was felt through the heel of her foot was almost satisfying. her move had paid off and it had even been nicely executed, what Jennifer however hadn’t really taken into account was the fact that he was still running, he still had speed and a swipe kick like the one she just had used wouldn’t take much from it.
As he ran directly into her, she immediately tried to move, but it was too late. She had been so caught up in the kick that she had not properly considered the outcome of it. She had for once reacted on instinct rather than planned thought and it had cost her.

Her breath was instantly knocked out of her as he hit her with full force, the impact itself making her stumble backwards into the edge of the ring, only to get grabbed a second later, suddenly lifted by the neck and waist, a pained expression painted on her face as she was nearly chocked as well. A second later, staring into the ceiling above she was dropped, tossed to the ground with a force that once again knocked all and every breath out of her, a pain springing through her back and neck as her mass came to rest on the floor.

It felt like forever, but once the fog of pain, the spike that had filled her body as she had landed on the boxing rings floor slowly drained, persistent however lower than initially she saw Lurcano preparing to leap. Even though fuzzy in mind she was still able to react, her now sore abdominal muscles flexing as she brought herself into a backwards roll, springing somewhat clumsily to her feet afterwards, stumbling somewhat as she attempted to regain her balance.

Her eyes hovered as she looked towards Lurcano, her guard low and face twisted in pain and concentration. It was obvious she wasn't one who backed down from a fight once it was on and it would take some time for her to get back into play, but she wasn’t out of the game just yet.. The keyword being yet.

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
Lurcano was a second to late, and he just missed her as she rolled away. He picked himself up, shaking his head. Taking some time to compose himself from the blow that Jen had dealt, he noticed her picking herself up and catching her breath, but this only registered towards the back of his mind.

He felt his nose tenderly and was sure that it had broken. Rage flashed into his mind once again, and it overcame any rational thought. Sensing the weakness in his prey, he rushed forward; paying little heed to his own pain and threw a flurry of punches at her, keeping his head down to avoid any jabs or punches to the face.

He would attempt to move her against the ropes, and throw as many punches as he could. Mixing them up in various combos including but not limited to jab, uppercut, right, right, haymaker, etc. He would also attempt to throw out knees and do anything he could to injure her.

[member="Jen"]

Her body felt as if it was carrying extra weight, her joints sore as she kept standing, her balance hard to regain due to the hit she had taken moments before, her pulse high and breath likewise fast paced. There was no time to say anything, it would have been lost energy and she wanted to win this. There was no quitting now.

Barely had she regained proper focused sight as Lurcano’s rage once more flared, his temperament a factor in his fighting style, yet a skilled foe could have used this against him. She would try, but in this state, she knew she could not keep up against such a tactic.

The first punch was avoided rather easily, thrown from afar and thereby sidestepped. He moved closer, careless aggressive, another jap making her stagger backwards, a low uppercut like punch catching the side of her stomach, making her grit her teeth and stumble to the side, her parrying stance not being able to catch any damage elsewhere than her head, her guard now however lowered due to the pain springing from her stomach. A second later a right hook came flying towards her, hitting her right arm that somewhat loosely attempted to block the left side of her face.

The pain was almost non-existent at this point, her vision instantly going blurry, all sense of balance gone. She stood there for what seemed like eternity itself, another right hook fired towards her in the flurry of blows Lurcano was unleashing. The force sensitive part of her mind attempted to warn her, but to no avail. The punch hit once more, her head turned a bit as she watched the hand fly towards her, her cheekbones and area around her left eye hit by the blow, making her stagger.

She was out at this point, but she continued to stand, throwing only one weak punch that merely would pat Lurcano, her own guard low, her body pushed around by the punches. A knee kick caught her thigh, making her loosely step to the side as what was a combo finishing blow came, the haymaker flew towards her and the side of her face, the power in itself sending her flying to the floor with a loud crash, her face already bloated around her left eye, blood dripping from what looked like a tiny scar around her lips.. She didn't speak, it didn't seem like she was unconscious, but perhaps the pain made her refrain from doing anything.

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
The flurry of punches that Lurcano had sent towards Jens way slowly began to lessen, before stopping completely. As she slumped against the ropes, his anger quickly ebbed away into something closer to disgust. 'You're a karking joke. Look at you. The Sgt-At-Arms of the largest Crime Syndicate in the galaxy. And you're beating a teenage girl whose a head shorter then you and over a hundred pounds lighter.

He sucked in using his nose, and a disgusting snorting sound filled the arena. A second later, mucus filled his mouth along with saliva, and he spat out the sticky, runny, multicolored substance filled with various different greens, yellows, and browns; no doubt composed of all sorts of things one accumulates after a few years of drinking and smoking.

He nudged her with his foot, lightly at first, and then a bit rougher before speaking to her.

Lurcano Car'dann: "Hey, you okay?"

[member="Jen"]

Her eyes met his, a shade of blue darker than the bright warm sky above them, the grass underneath soft and green as ever… See, picnicking was just so peac-.. No wait, that wasn’t right, the ground was rough and hard, the blue sky in reality a dark ceiling and his eyes grey…

“ka-kark you!” Jennifer yelled angrily as if drunk, her voice barely holding her words, her response almost automatic. Her right amber eye, its pupil large, staring towards Lurcano, having trouble staying open. A kick followed her words, or rather, a pathetic floundering like motion did, kicking holes in the air. Her breath was still rapid from adrenaline and anger, her head buzzing.

She would lie there for a couple of minutes, trying to keep out the pain and anger, reminding herself that the fight was over. That it had been on terms and a fight shouldn’t continue once finished. She had to admit it it, she had lost. There was no need to dwell on the past, she could only move forward. Improve, become smarter, stronger, faster… That was the only way. She was such a bad loser. She knew.

Slowly she stood, attempting to find her footing to stand, both her hands grasping tightly around the railing as she stood, ignoring and thereby refusing all attempts, if any, to help her. She could barely see out her left eye.. She would need to get that fixed as soon as possible, she probably looked awful like this.

With a dry voice she slowly opened her mouth to talk, her voice still shaking, yet under control. “Yea… I’m kay. You?”

"Kark you, I won't do what you tell me."
The crowd had filtered out once they realized the fight was over. They'd gotten what they'd came here to see. The Sgt-At-Arms beat up an undersized teenager. All in all, it had been a pretty good day for them, and some people had definitely made some money on the results of said fight while others had no doubt lost some money.

Lurcano stood over her, and he slumped against the ropes chuckling as she continued to kick him. He waited for her to calm down a bit, to let the realization sink in. He stepped outside of the little ring, and moved to the table which he had been previously seated. He grabbed the whiskey, and took a swig. His eyes fuzzed over before clearing once more.

Then, Lurcano grabbed his nose and took a deep breath. He shut his eyes, and moved to snap his nose back into place. It was a sloppy job, and Lurcano let out several curses as he dealt with the pain. 'This'll have to do until I can speak with the healers. They'll fix it up good and proper.' He took another swig of the whiskey, and moved back to the ring. He looked up Jen who was now standing and leaned against the ring.

Jen: "Yea… I’m kay. You?"

Lurcano Car'dann: Lurcano just shrugged his shoulders and motioned to his nose. "Fine enough, though you broke my nose again. I've lost count how many times that shit has happened. It's a miracle I can even smell at this point."

"You fought well toady. I didn't expect that kick, and with a little bit more luck and a few more pounds; that could knocked me out. Surprised it didn't in fact. So tell me kid, what's your name and what's your place in this organization? I'm the Sgt-At-Arms and I've never seen you around before. I assume you're no ordinary grunt?"

[member="Jen"]

Jennifer grunted as a temporary response; shaking her head as if it could clear the pain away. Perhaps make her more aware of anything else, but that, the agony. She slowly stretched herself to her full height which in itself wasn’t that impressive and then turned to look towards Lurcano, a somewhat hard expression seen on her face despite the pain she was obviously, the hematoma around her eye having swelled already. Yes, she really did need to go see a medic to fix it as soon as possible.

She looked over Lurcano, as if inspecting and judging him with her good eye. “Sgt-At-Arms? Hmmm… I guess Colap had to go at some point…” She mumbled, chuckling quietly at herself before continuing to talk.

“And neither have I seen you. That makes us two. You can just call me Jen, but if you’ve browsed the CryptNet a bit you will know me as Phoenix. What’s my place? Good question… One thing I know is that I am or was one of the youngest members. No fancy titles here, but I belong.”

Lurcano Car'dann: Lurcano just nodded his head at the young girls words. He considered them for a second, an action that he normally would have done while she spoke but the alcohol as well as the pain from his broken nose were beginning to take affect. After a few moments of consideration long enough to turn the silence awkward, Lurcano spoke.

"Well Jen. Pleasure to meet you. Sorry about, well...all of that." Lurcano motioned towards her injuries as he spoke. "You fought well, especially against someone that's been doing this for a while now. It's a pleasure to meet you. How about I take you out to a drink? Maybe we can get to know each other? You've got spunk, and you're certainly not like some of the other bitches" *cough* Keira *cough* "in this organization. Maybe we can get along?"

Lurcanos demeanor and tone of voice would make it clear that this would be a strictly friendship related drink. He would have thought such a thing would be fairly obvious, but Lurcano wasn't exactly the best at picking up social nuance himself; so what did he know? And anyway, perhaps his lewd words and reputation preceded him. Better safe then sorry, right?

[member="Jen"]

Jennifer adjusted herself at the railing of the ring as the short silence ensued, not thinking too terribly much of it, still attempting to cope with the pain, tired. She really had to see one of those medic folks soon to get her eye fixed up.

She tested her feet a bit, seeing if she would be able to stand without clinging to the side of the ring, finding it easy enough, yet still letting it offer her support as she turned towards Lurcano. Clearly surprised at his question, not seeming to sure on how to interpret it.
“Ermm… Yea. Sure.” Jennifer said hesitantly, shrugging afterwards, mostly at herself.

She started to turn back towards the railing, carefully getting out and down from the arena, talking over her shoulder on the way down. “But not right now though. Need to get all of this cleaned up first.” She gestured towards her eye with her tail. “I’ll call you when I feel like it would be a good time to drink, yea?”

Lurcano Car'dann: Lurcano simply nodded his head in agreement. He stepped over the ropes that encircled the rings. As he was headed towards the exit he called over his shoulder, "Sure. Just give me a ring when you're interested. Sorry about the face n' all." As he walked down the hallway to the med bay, he thought to himself. 'Damn, that was weird as kark. You really don't know how to talk to people do you? Who would've ever thought social nuance was such a hard thing to master? Hell, people are born knowing how to do that shit. You're just karking crazy.'
