Discovering a New Me

Kat shrugged, she always thought passion and all the other emotions that Jedi told their students were bad was an odd thing. Having those emotions just meant you were alive to Kat, it was impossible not to get angry or feel hatred. Most people never let them consume them but to never feel them, it felt like an impossible task set by the Jedi Order. "That's fair, I wasn't sure if you were an old school Jedi, we must not feel, I am a robot. Beep boop." Kat chuckled as she felt proud of her achievement.

Now it was time to replicate it, put less focus on her mind working on a task. Kat wanted to prove that she could use the Force at will, no matter what. Raising her arms up, she cleared her mind and tried lifting the boxes up. Nothing happened at first. Slowly the boxes twitched before raising up wobbly, before crashing down. "I did it. Wasn't perfect but I can do it!" She smirked.

Willa looked at her with the old school jedi comment. "No, not emotionless.. would be very hard but I have been a soldier and you always need something to drive you and keep you going. FO r you it is this... free repairs on my ship where you will get to stay and learn to use the force. FOr me it is shooting the wings off of a hawk bat from seven kilometers with my helfire cannon." SHe looked at her being able to use the force and spoke. "Good now do it again and keep doing it until your body protests and then... you'll know when we are half way done for the day."

Kat nodded and appreciated Isard's honesty about her views on emotions. Grabbing a hydrospanner and a few other tools, she got back to work. Using the Force was still tricky at first, it slowed her down compared to how Kat usually worked but that didn't bother her. It was more important to ensure she cod use it on command instead of using it instinctively. Throughout the day, she worked hard on several key areas of the ship in need of fine tuning or moving.

It was six or more hours in that Kat realised she was drenched in sweat and her light grey tank top was now a murky dark grey. She started to feel exhausted mentally as well as physically, it was a new draining experience. Wandering over to where Isard had shifted to, Kat gave a weak smile. "So, I'm start to feel exhausted and a bit gross. Definitely could go for a shower..." Kat mentioned as she collapsed and sighed, felt nice not to be working for once. Which was odd for Kat to think, she loved working and keeping busy.

Willa looked down from the vent she was in, a good thing about not having actual bones was you didn't get shy about awkward angles when she was there. Using the gravity leveler to keep the blood rushing to her head and making her dizzy. Everything else was easier after that she she listened to the padawan watching her. Eyes focused so that the jedi master slipped out of the vent. Changing from her regular clothing into something similar, grey tank top with the skylar so it was form fitted but benefit was lack of sweat staining it.

Form fitted pants that hugged her legs as well as slip shoes. Sturdy but also small and with grips to maintain yourself from slipping. "Feeling good." She said it with a smile on her face, her black hair was still short but the tails were loose and slicked back by the sweat. She placed an arm around her shoulder letting the warmth she normally had. A sort of feverish temperature from the vahla. "Come on then, we'll get you a refresher." She said it while walking and leading the way through the ship. "THe one for guests is well it has to run through its cycles to be of use so you mine."

She said it less like a joke an dmore practical, it would serve little to limit them and if they were going to be the ones on the ship they would have to be comfortable sharing space. "Though don't make a habit of it, There are only two women let in here and both of them had to work for it." Okay that was a joke delivered deadpan as the doors opened to reveal the armory/bedroom/office space. Walls lined with different weapons and a love of different sniper rifles, a few types of armor she had used including her old havoc armor and ranger's gear.

The massive bed that was set up with shell spider silk sheets, wampa fur comforter, leviathan bones bleached to create the frame and rancor teeth used as the posts. Giving it a strange look but they were massive and shaped to her liking as the jedi master went in and opened a door to reveal the iner refresher. A sunken in tub with a gravity field to keep the water in when it was used for a bath but the walk around path with crystasteel viewing of the tube was an ultrasonic shower or traditional shower. "Here we go, just be careful please."

Watching Isard crawl from a vent with impossible flexibility, Kat couldn't help be in awe. Even for Kat that vent would have been difficult to crawl through and she didn't have to worry about her legs if she removed them beforehand, shortening her body. Isard seemed to understand Kat's position and guided her to a bedroom with an ensuite shower. The bedroom was a bizarre looking room in Kat's opinion, the bed itself seemed unusual in its appearance. She was use to simplicity in a bed, as was her style. However the practicality of weapons and armour in the room seemed appropriate as Kat looked over the room several times.

It seemed that Isard was making a big gesture by allowing Kat to use the shower, something Kat deeply appreciated as she was taking to hate the cold sweaty feeling her clothes were giving. Smiling warmly to the Jedi Master, Kat wandered into the bathroom and underdressed before stepping into the shower.

After an hour of deep cleaning with boiling water, Kat stepped out and dried herself, feeling refreshed and envigorated from the shower. Wrapping the towel around her body, she briefly peeked out of the bathroom with a red blush. "Urm. Could I borrow some clothes? Just seemed foolish to get back into my dirty sweaty clothes after such a nice shower." Kat stuttered not use to sharing space with anyone but her sister.

Willa looked up from the table, working on the toolkit wrist weapons she brought them in line and the reishi tubes. "Uhhh sure." She shrugged while motioning over to the one compartment with uniforms. Mostly the same dark colors but the flight suits were set up. "THey might be a little tight for you." She wasn't certain about all of it but her body gave in and yielded to the form fitted nature and compression. Bones and cybernetics might well might get int he way.

She rose up though and held the wrist weapon while it spun selecting at random one of the tubes. "These are some of the ranger weapons, most of you don't use any more. Wrist tool kits, twenty two weapons between the two of them including wrist mounted sniper weapons and blades." She had a grin on her face, the new crop of rangers... there were more of them for sure but their katarn armor didn't match the guard armor.

She looked at the suit of it there before pulling some of the uniforms out and passing them over. She got a towel for herself and a uniform. "Hopefully you didn't use up all of the hot water." She said it but it was a joke, there was a grin on her face trading spaces. The Rac was already off planet, in orbit with stealth systems engaged as she pulled up one of the screens to show the course the droids were on. "I'll be out soon."

Inspecting the uniform, Kat felt sure it wouldnfit, mostly due to the fact the woman was several inches taller than her and more muscular in frame. She looked at the various weapons that were on the table, it was true that they weren't common amongst the Rangers. Not that Kat ever really took much notice of the supply of ranged weapons. She had her Force Pike and kept to that, it was her fathers and she would die before losing it. Not having it would be like going without her legs, impossible.

Hearing Isard joke about the hot water, Kat smirked. "Well since you keep so warm anyway, thought you might have preferred a cold shower!" Joking back as she looked over the map, noticing they had left the planet. Kat blinked, she hadn't realised they were leaving the planet. Felt sudden and she would have grabbed half a dozen or so more items beforehand. Kat shook her head, too late now. There were the important items, her cap, her tools and her Force Pike. Everything else was just luxury items.

Waiting till Isard left for her shower, Kat changed into the uniform, getting it looking as casual as possible. She refused to wear a uniform properly, it was too stiff and often came with people demanding things. She was wearing a fresh tank top, dark in colour with the upper half of the uniform wrapped around her waist. Donning her cap after she tied her hair into a ponytail. She wondered where they would be heading off to.

Willa stood there in the shower as the one droid was speaking, her navigational droid was more like a bothering gnat at times but Grey had given it to her and in a show of sentimentality she had kept it around. Same as the rare murals Fett had made on her ship in random places from their roaming around in the vents repairing the ship in the field. It was reliable but the droids could only do so much that would let the human feel as it were come through.

"Yes I know set coarse for Reaper command." There was a look on her face as she started drying off without a towel and just her inner fire. Steam rising off of her when she changed into mostly a matching look, tank top exposing her shoulders and midriff, pants and boots as she came out. Hair sliceked back and tattoo's on her arm visible. DIfferent campaigns within the republic and the Silver jedi, reaper company, grey watch, havoc squad, republic special forces, rangers.

She had them listened on her arm going from the shoulder down to nearly her forearm with small emblems. Each one a new tattoo, ring finger tattooed and against the pale skin the black ink was even more visible. SHe turned to look at Kat though while walking and raised an eyebrow as the ship wasn't leaving the system... more flying around the planet towards a dense area of the forest. The branches thick and broken in parts of the trees revealing when they got closer space docks.

THe ship was going in and there were soldiers, wookiees and the Rac came in touching down. "Welcome to Reaper Division... well what is left of it. Since the Iron Maiden disappeared no one has really sent troopers here and most got reassigned but they did have some of the best combat records in the Silver Sanctum for a time usually cleaning up after the eldorai and whatever the valkyri were doing." She crossed her arms. "It is more quiet here for training purposes."

Noticing the many tattoos that Isard had, she was curious what each one meant. She could recognise a couple but there was still one or two that she wasn't sure on what they signified. Kat was one for tattoos, needles were not her style, hence no piercings or tattoos. It was bad enough as a child getting anaesthesia for the doctors install then upgrade her cybernetics over her earlier years. Now she can do the work on her legs and not have to worry about adjusting her cybernetics, till she requires new legs.

Realising they were staying on Kashyyyl, Kat felt a blush in her cheeks, she hated being wrong but just meant she still had to learn more. She appreciated Isard taking them somewhere remote to train, she wasn't confident to train with other Jedi around possibly watching her. As she stepped off the ship and looked around the Reaper headquarters, she felt weird that this team didn't get the deserved attention. Surely if it had been such an important asset, it would be foolish of the Order to let it fall apart.

"Have you talked to Valkren or Grand Master Kitra about getting the Reaper unit back into working order? Sure they be glad to give you permission in overseeing new recruits and utilising them in combat when the need arises." Kat enquired as she moved around and took it all in.

"We don't have Zathra, Maiden or Grey. I am a sniper padawan. I shoot things, I don't lead people." She said it and well bringing them back or the grey core or the advanced scouts would work in some cases but she was checking out a few things here. She led the way itno the open area where they were all looking around. Pulling up information from the citadel, the temple and as the holograms were showing roadways that had been cleared.

"Plus well they like to think they are the first who did things here. Selena Halcyon built up Havoc squad here clear and fight on this planet. We set up several locations and advanced outposts for the Republic at the time. When we came here it was forgotten in favor of.... I am not certain. We did much the same on Felucia, Ossus and Mimban." She looked to a part of it when opening the doors to a larger training area.

"Now we are here, your skills with repair and the force can be tested getting everything back into operational order."

Kat followed Isard and listened to her explain why she didn't want to take charge of the unit. It was fqlair, not everyone believed themselves to be leadership material, Kat certainly didn't think she was. Instead, Kat preferred working alone and being snarky at folks, it was entertaining for her and her sense of humour was wildly different to a lot of Jedi. Looking around, she listened as Isard explained what the different jobs the team did for the Republic.

"But the Republic is no more, with Alliance gone too, shouldn't we all pull togther and be more productive?" Kat had heard of the recent attacks on the Alliance, it seemed that another Light Side faction took a damaging blow. She wondered how long it would take the First Order and the Sith Empire to shift their dark gaze on the Silver Jedi. She shuddered at the thought, she didn't want her friends to lose hope. Another reason to train and get strong.

Hearing what Isard had planned next, Kat cocked her hip and placed a hand on it. "So you want me to do some more chores for you?" She teased lightly at the Jedi Master, however steeled herself for the upcoming task.

"Well I could have you lifting rocks like other jedi might make you do." She said it with a look on her face though when she started to clear some of the crates and debris. SHe stood there when some fo the droids were moving around, phyla chambers being brought in that were growing and going to be used to grow new biot soldiers. New staff for the facilities that they would be able to field within months. "I told you, I don't know how to do a lot but you using the force while repairing seemed to work so we'll stick with that for now."

Kat had to hold back from rolling her eyes at the idea of moving around a bunch of meaningless rocks. How would that ever teach her any practical use with the Force. She wasn't going to need to lift a bunch of rocks from a cave-in tunnel to rescue a few resistance soldiers from impending death. That was just tok niche an use. So she appreciated that Isard wanted to take a different approach. Though her joke seemed to have gone over the Master's head.

"Cool, yeah sounds similar to stuff I was doing on the ship. Nothing complicated." Kat stated as she looked at the various objects that she would be needing to repair and upgrade. Droids were very likely needing a software upgrade at the least. "Where do you want me to start?" She asked, waiting to be given orders on what to do.

She was looking at her with the grin on her face as she moved towards the open area of the training room. THe branch was thick and with coverings but she started to open them and pointed. "These hooks are made for repelling lines. For training purposes they were to let us get down to the lower walkways." It had proven effective in the past but they hadn't tested the strength of it and if it broke that was a few kilometers down not just some feet... with a chance to be impaled. "We'll get these fixed and the extraction equipment so we can descend and ascend."

Inspecting the hooks and lines, Kat nodded her head. Repelling and ascending lines needed to be the strongest they could be with no risk of breaking. It was important for a person to know their equipment was sturdy, especially if they were dangling from it several hundred feet in the air. She moved in closer and inspected the hook specifically, ensuring she understood its mechanic. Tugging the line tethered to a hook, she wanted to test the knot connecting the two was still secure and tight.

"So how do we test these without dropping ourselves over a ledge and hoping they don't snap?" Kat was unsure how this would relate to her mechanic skills or using the Force, waiting to see what Isard said or did before attempting anything.

"Well that is half the fun, testing out your mechanical skills is one thing but using the force as well." She pointed placing a hand on the padawans back with a grin. "THe branches criss cross in areas and we could jump from one to the other head down to test it ascending and bringing us back up. A secondary line that we have secured will serve as back up just in cause with enough slack we can't skew the results and if anything happens. Padawans are replaceable." She said the last as a complete joke but slipped it in there while patting Kat's shoulders and back lightly.

Kat chuckled at Isard's joke at Padawans being replaceable. "Meh, as long as I land on my legs, most falls don't hurt me." She gave the legs a metallic knock, signalling their robotic-ness. Also meant she could jump higher than she would otherwise, reaching the branches. Though she had to be careful the weight of the legs didn't snap the branches. Securing the hook to a branch, she dropped the line and tied herself to the second line.

"So... let gravity do its work..." She mumbled to herself, this work was not her usual style hut she wanted to help Isard out. The Jedi Master had allowed her to connect with the Force on a conscious level. Dropping down slowly, she controlled her descent. Then started a climb back to the top.

Willa wa slooking at it and gave a nod of her head as she started to descend. A smal hooked and barbed blade ejecting from her wrist as it dug into the tree and slowed her decent while she lept around catching and dropping down with the rope. Everything that would get them down and she stopped enough to drop a glow rod. The ranger's field ones were made using lightsaber energy tech. It would recycle itself almost forever with minimal power comsumption. Sure she might have to charge it.... in a few hundred years if she left it on as a thick branch with a roadway came. The sith had made it and well the fringe had somehow indoctrinated wookiee's to use it as an ambush.

Kat watched to see how Willa descended down the line. She slowly followed behind, looking at the scenery as she slid down the line towards the ground. Seeing the glowstick, illuminating their surroundings as she detached herself from the line. Kat turned her gaze back over to Willa, "Okay, so, what do we do now?" Kat asked curious as to what their plan might be now. Everything seemed dark and mysterious so she wasn't sure that this was going to be using her tech skills.

"Now you reach out with your senses and guide us. There are some dangers down here you don't want to just run into." She said it while walking around and held a hand up as her fingers snapped. The sound was louder but the result was a ball of flame in her palm as the jedi master prepared herself. She had her hand graze the blast saber on her hilt with a small look into the shadowlands. Looking up at some of the twisted branches and roots that were around. It made natural alcoves that could be used. "We used to do survival training down here, always dark, dangerous and you have to learn to use the force or your instincts to find what is safe around here."
