  Physical Appearance
  Originally the Serenity looked very much like a mix and match put together ship, with hull plating mismatching, and open wields all over the outer hull. The interior looked even worse, with entire sections of the interior missing, no hull plating covering sections of the walls, and open wires, conduits, and equipment exposed. Ko has spent a great deal of time and credits modifying the ship over time to look professionally built. The outer hull now has a smooth silver mat sheen with few visible seams. Sections are highlighted with lower blue light and the glow coming off the different exterior pieces of equipment. The interior has also been upgraded over time. Now the hallways and walls look professionally done, with luxury accents of wood and colored glass. The color scheme has a mix of

  Chapter I: Life on Apatros​

  
  Ko grew up on the planet Apatros, to miner parents. Despite both his parents being large and physically able to work the mines, Ko had always been smaller, and people often joked that his parents adopted a runt rather than have a child of their own. At the age of ten, his mother died in a cave-in at one of the major junctions of the tunnel system. After his wife died, Ko's father no longer cared about life and often refused to wear his mask and filter system in public and even while down in the mines, eventually, his father died from lung cancer shortly after Ko turned fifteen.

  	STRENGTHS
  HONESTY:​	Ko is honest to a fault, he prefers to never lie unless it is absolutely necessary for survival.
  SCAVENGER: ​	Growing up on the planet Apatros there were very few options for making credits and survival. As he was physically unable to work the mines, being much smaller than others, he found another source of income. He began to find and repair the many different pieces of equipment left by the miners and corporations. Most tools were simply discarded or abandoned when they broke down and Ko Scanvanger salvaged these and repaired them before selling them back to the corporation and miners.
  MECHANIC:​	Working as a scavenger exposed him to many different types of equipment. He learned to see patterns in how things were made and quickly learned how to repair almost anything he encountered. He can repair ships, vehicles, equipment, and even droids with little prior knowledge of the device.

Ko was both taken aback and filled with gratitude, at Cailen's unselfish generosity. No one in his life had ever done anything for him out of kindness, they had always expected something in return or were looking for an angle to take advantage of him. Over the years he had managed to learn who was looking to take advantage of him, he could feel no such deception from Cailen. Still, he was also a little disturbed that he might be taking advantage of the younger boy. He didn't want to take anything from his new friend, if he and his family didn't want to leave with him when he left, maybe he could find another way to pay the boy and his family back.

"If we have to pay for everything," Ko started as he followed through the maze of ship frames and shattered hulls, "maybe you can help me get a job here so I can pay for things as well. Hopefully, though there are some things we can legally salvage without having to pay for, this is a huge planet with so many broken ships, the Alliance surely doesn't have a claim on it all."

As the pair approached the mag trains, Ko couldn't help but be impressed with the sheer magnitude of the whole system. Nothing on Apatros came even close to this. The mining world was small, the so-called Apatros city was small, the only thing that would come close to being called massive was the underground tunnel systems where they stripped the world of the only thing of value. Here though the whole surface was covered with ships, he had already seen more people since arrival than he had in his entire life, and now this impressive train system. He was suddenly feeling really small.

"So," Ko started trying to push away his insecurities while boarding the train that Cailen indicated. "What does your friend do? is he a salvage like you?"
