Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night

The Reaper of Won Shasot
The woman ducked beneath a blaster bolt that careened towards her, Dax sidestepping it directly after. As it passed he drew on the heat, less than a moment in time, but the extreme temperature of the tibanna gas gave Dax the ability to create a decent sized flame in the palm of his hand, one that fed itself. The flames leapt from Dax's hands as he thrust his arm outwards, the flames bursting through the brush and reaching the man who'd sent the original bolt. His screams still echoed through the forest as the flames died out, rain sizzling as it struck the smoldering bushes and leaves.

Their attackers hesitated, the briefest lull in the onslaught. The demonstration of power and skill the two men had displayed was giving the attacking group some second thoughts. It was too late for them though. Three of those nearest would feel their energy quickly drain away, and then their lives as incandescent smoke lifted from their eyes and mouth and drifted towards the Rogue. He breathed in the life forces of the warriors and exhaled, satisfied. The remainder began to run.

He watched his friend effectively eat the souls of three attackers, a rather fascinating move. The skill was interesting, probably had some side affects. Like a Demon...

Moving on, he pulled the woman up to her feet, looking at the retreating natives. "Which way is home lady? I don't want to be caught in another hellfire."

The woman pushed Nate away forcefully. She needed no help from him, and never would she accept their help. She pointed in one direction with the knife, arm outstretched. Suddenly she flung the knife in Nate's direction, the blade narrowly missing his head. A squelching sound could be heard behind the man. Dax looked to the sound, one last native, arrogant, believing he could strike while they were distracted, had found that Dax's knife had buried itself in his eyes. Suddenly the knife extracted itself and flew back to the woman's hand. "Let's go...we'll arrive by nightfall."

The Rogue shot Nate a look. Now they knew she was a Forcer, and that there could be others among them...something to look out for.

Anya looked to the lady as she nodded, she contiujed walking back and forth her eyes determined and focused, a steeled outside unshowing of the war within her mind, as they girl mentioned a caf and sleep she shook her head and spoke

a caf will be good sleep not so much you go to sleep I'll keep guard nothing shall come close

She said as she looked out to the woods, her sabers snapped on as she let a growl out

I feel something out there...arm yourself it seems that sleep might not be a option at all

So [member="Anya Loma"] asked for caf? And also warned about that something that lurked out there... probably some creature from the dark side. Or some other dark side-related person or object. While she knows that [member="Dax Fyre"] and [member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"] are away trying to do some business for which the woman is apparently their backdoor, Yula hastily prepares some instant caf for two servings. Oh, sure, she might have been thinking of those caf shops on Ziost or Elom, whose offerings are sometimes so extravagant that it's easy to get lost, but she did not have that luxury: there were not much to work off, ingredient-wise, to brew two cups of caf using pyrokinesis. Then again, would Anya pick up on Yula in the Force using pyrokinesis for that purpose? Anyhow, Yula had enough power to do pyrokinesis to that end but otherwise has not much power left. With the two cups in tow, she arrives right in front of Anya, hoping that she will actually drink it...

"Please make it quick, we're going to need that caf"

Non flinching as the knife whizzed past his mask, he turned around casually, looking down at the man before the knife came soaring back into her hand. He wasn't really surprised, mainly due to the planet's Force Aura, that usually tended to have Force-Sensitives abroad.

Following behind her, his visor gleamed as he looked at Dax, the non spoken message being relayed.

Dax followed behind the woman, one saber in his hand, although deactivated. While the woman may not be very handy with a gun or a blaster, she definitely knew how to use blades. Maybe a bit of a dangerous thing considering she most likely wanted to kill both Nate and Dax, but for now the Rogue was more worried about the natives aiming to kill all of them.
"Where is this place you're taking us?" Dax asked.
"Beyond the forest, in a clearing. Well...its more of a crater...We have about a dozen more kilometers to go before we reach it though." she said, looking over her shoulder at the man. She paused in her speech, as if considering something before asking, "Where did you come from...we've never seen your kind here before."
"Somewhere far away...c'mon I'd like to get there sooner rather than later."

---

The native's peered at the flame haired alien through the trees. There they waited patiently. The roaring weapon of fire in her hand was what drew their eyes the most. A very peculiar weapon...who ever claimed it would certainly be held in high esteem....

"That's classified," Smiling beneath his mask, he nudged his friend the quip being funny. At least in his eyes. Rain had made the ground slick and mushy, but his black combat boots ate right through it. Not missing a step he jumped over a fallen tree, looking ahead and seeing more spacious openings.

"Looks like we're gettin' close."

Dax rolled his eyes. "Great joke, Nate." he deadpanned. Judging from the woman's lack of a reaction, she seemed to feel the same. The woman vaulted over the fallen tree, followed by Dax. As they crested over the edge of a hill, Dax's mouth opened slightly. "You weren't kidding when you called it a crater." he said.

Beneath the two lay a basin of sorts. Atop the craggy earth lay a sprawling city of stone, canals diverting the water which gathered with in the deep hole around the city. In center sat a pyramid like structure, down the four sides which cascaded great waterfalls. Some of the water that got diverted must be pumped up and out of that building somehow Dax reasoned. Lightning cracked the sky and lit the whole city in a white light for a brief moment before returning it to the dusky grey. "Welcome to the Broken Earth."

She watched the tree lime with a careful eye...she could feel them...they were there but she didn't know for sure what it was, her patient was running low watching them and keeping herself in check so she didn't just go berserk and attack anyone she saw

Once yula came back with the caf she took it and gulped it down ignoring the hot liquid as she drained the cup, she stood dripping it as she let a steamy breath out and walked towards the woods, she stopped and she closed her eyes, soon her saber shut off as she inhaled and caught her hands in fire opening them suddenly and put them in front of her blowing causing a flame to shoot out lighting the trees on fire

Once she saw [member="Anya Loma"] shoot a flame based on the caf cup she just served, Yula was just... flabbergasted that whatever enemy might have been lurking around the ship's location was actually close enough to their location for Anya to target it with pyrokinesis. So Yula, too, gulped her own paper cup's worth of caf, knowing that she would also need the caf - some native came out of the burnt woodwork charging right through to them. It's really the native that went berserk and attacked everything that was suspicious from its standpoint. What the feth was that? she thought. And it was then that Yula drew her lightsabers so as to repel the blaster fire being shot at her. The black blades of what she called Ayuvir Black lighted up, and the deflected bolts went into the trees that weren't already lighted up by Anya, making a few branches fall off in their wakes, but otherwise nothing consequential.

[member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"] [member="Dax Fyre"]

"What type of names do you people come up with?" The lightning reflected off his mask as he stood stock shouldered against the wind and rain, effectively giving him that macho-bad ass look.

"Will we get spears thrown at us down there too?" Turning to look at the woman, he connected his sabers, the black staff being soon casually. "If so... dont be offended or mad if I start running them through..." With that, he began to make his way down into the crater.

"Well...they might." the woman said passively in a matter-of-fact tone. "But, if you do start trying to kill them, just beware of the tens of thousands of Shasoti trying to kill you."
"So that's what you call yourselves." Dax said, turning to look at the grey skinned woman, her hair drenched in the torrents of rain.
"Huh?"
"Your species. You call yourselves 'Shasoti'." A name the man would remember. A name to write into the starcharts. An odd thought occurred to the Master in that moment. If he would never be remembered for any of his other deeds, or his merits in war, at least he'd be remembered for discovering a planet. Funny.

The city's denizens stared at the three as they walked the streets. An unmistakable mistrust in their eyes that followed them no matter where they went. Yet, oddly enough, they didn't raise a hand. The various Kuskuri who accompanied the people barked, growled, and snapped at Dax and [member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"], but they never attacked. Well...not really.

---

The flames burst into the tree line, some of the hunters becoming instant mummified corpses of ash and cinder. Those who weren't caught in the wave of flames surged forward. Spears thrown, bows fired, blasters shot, all aimed at the pair defending the two ships. Some fell to [member="Anya Loma"]'s saber and [member="Yula Knezevic"]'s blaster fire, but for everyone that was felled, it seemed two or three more replaced them. They had to find a way out or they'd be overrun.

[member="Dax Fyre"][member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"][member="Yula Knezevic"]

Once the hunters started rushing anya felt that fire in her veins and her face suddenly grew wide with a grin as the chaos started, she slashed each spear coming at her rushing forward to meet them, the first one she ducked low and swiped up bisecting him from the belt up

The darkside flowed in her one more, she couldn't help but cackle as she met 2 more engulfing them in them before slicing them on half...yes this felt good her body felt alive!

However the more that came the more she was pushed back the more angry....she let a battle cry put as she started slicing wildly and started taking as many as she could

With [member="Anya Loma"] definitely caught into a dark-side-fueled murderous frenzy, Yula was mostly there to cover for Anya while she did most of the offensive work. But she had a decision to make: would it be worthwhile to keep to only one lightsaber and then use the off-hand to use the Force with, at the cost of reduced ability to deflect blaster fire, or to keep both lightsabers and only use the Force in certain ways? She had to make the decision quickly or else... she didn't have time to make an informed decision. Yet the call of the dark side still tasted sweet to her, so sweet in fact that she would just keep one lightsaber active and shoot Force-lightning towards another branch not yet burned by Anya, cutting the branch, igniting it and making its occupant fall right into the fire a few meters below. With each passing moment, each spear that she dodges, Yula decides to use a few of those spears and use telekinesis to throw those pointy implements at other hunters, at speeds that could even qualify for ballistakinesis. Not very accurate: she was lucky that she scored one hit using ballistakinesis. The impaled hunter fell into the fire, which was spreading through the forest.

"The dark side never tasted any sweeter, eh Anya?"

[member="Nate the Bounty Hunter"] [member="Dax Fyre"]

"They couldn't touch me." Not intending to be too overly confident, just honest. So far, he had nearly an army worth of spears thrown at him, and nearly twice that number of pale elf people trying to kill him; It wouldn't be anything new.

Returning the growls, he pressed on, a little unsure of where to lead the trio. "...Where to lady?"

The woman silently lead the pair of men through the stone streets up towards the towering temple. "Did you really have to ask bro?" the Rogue joked, "'Course the leader's gonna take the biggest house for himself."

As they neared the pyramidal structure they could see that it was divided into three segments. A lower, middle and upper. Armed guards lined the endless stairs, each separated by maybe forty to fifty steps. Dax noted that these ones were better armed and armored. Not galactic standard of course, old, even ancient tech. But certainly better than those who'd thrown spears.

---

Anya had begun to making small mistakes in her dark-fueled rage. The wild slashing left her open, if only for moments. The natives tried to take advantage of that, making efforts to strike or fire when she was least likely to be able to defend herself.

Yula's wasted efforts of tossing back the spears gave equal opportunity. Her focus on catching and throwing spears meant she was no longer focusing on the natives nearest her. A Kuskuri pounced for her from the side, just as another spear was slung back into the fray of Shasoti. Its teeth aimed to rend flesh and take a meaty chunk out of her side.

Noting her silence, he reciprocated. The mask helped scare off any who drew too close, hopefully the guards would find it intimidating as well. If not, that would be a very long trip down those stairs for all of the heavily armored elves.

Stopping behind their guide, he turned and looked at the town behind them, most of the inhabitants now behind them, circling the temple. "Nice welcoming comity."

The natives were not intimidated as the bounty hunter had hoped. But neither did they make any moves. They stared straight ahead, as if frozen into stone. The woman who guided them barely registered their existence. Dax was almost tempted to walk up to one of them and poke them, in case they were more hallucinations. In the end, he decided not to. He didn't wanna risk them being real and getting tossed down the ninety...hundred...hundred ten...more steps that he cared to know about.

The three passed the first level where it flattened into a platform before diving deep into the pyramid. From the depths, the temple glowed a hot red light, as if it were a forge. In the center of it all stood a crystalline tower, alight with the hellish glow, within which something moved in churned. It took Dax a moment to realize it was the water they'd seen cascading down the sides of the temple, being pumped back up to the top only to descend the stone channels once more.

Anya felt alive, she couldn't hear the words of her nearby ally forgetting about her as she let the dark side guide her moves, slashing wildly as she felt a stab at her side and roared out breaking the spear and punchingthe native right in the chest before she moved again as she panted feeling a shot hit her chest and knock her down as she waved her blade trying to stop the incoming natives

STAY BACK AHAHAHA I'LL KILL YOU ALL! YOU CAN'T KILL ME I'M THE! SCARLET! FLAME!

She yelled out defiantly
