Doctrine in Motion: A Proposal

[member="Carlyle Rausgeber"][member="Pharazon Draken"][member="Natasi Fortan"]

Sara offered no smile, but was impressed say the least, the man's presentation after...well that small quarrel was still on point and crisp answering her question just as she had hoped and then some

However when he announced his leave and said another would take over and gave a smile only a small one and nodded her head

till next commodore sir

She said as she followed her two men still beside her as she looked over to the two ren...her luck to be left behind with them....then again she just had to play right and not upset them

She stopped as they got off as she saluted general Hammond

pleasure to meet you general we were told you'd show us how this all with work when it's operational?

She said with a polite smile and tone, truly she wished this place was operational just so she could see it work in person but alas she wpuld see it when it's done and she would make sure of it, after all something that can defend a world be as large as this and mostly impenetrable? Yes she wanted to see this place work

Why? Then her squadron and others can have a presence there on the base, be able to prove more and more why the Starfighter Corps was the best, mainly so Sara can prove bolt squadron was the best alomg side the 100th, to which she hoped also had a place here

Another thing sprang up...how many star fighters could this place hold...she assumed plenty more then one else squadron she hoped

Pausing in the middle of the last room, she glanced back over the checklist again. She handed it and the stylus over to Administrator Alane.

"I need you to sign here- initial.... here and here- then sign at the bottom."

She straightened her lab coat absently as he went over his part of the process. Accepting the forms back, she quickly checked over to make sure he had everything correct. Then again, he was a professional paper pusher, so it didn't surprise her that he had it all under control.

"Is there anything else you need from me, Doctor Ven?"

Irajah shook her head, adding her signature to the bottom with a smile.

"Just for you to take care of the facilities and personnel here moving forward as well as you have thus far. You are cleared to open your doors and start treating patients. Congratulations Administrator Alane."

The man beamed, shaking her hand vigorously. It hadn't really been in doubt- really, this was just a formality. But getting confirmation of the hard work was always gratifying.

skin, bone, and arrogance
The Frontrunner, Natasi Fortan's custom-built Consul-class diplomatic frigate, touched down on the landing pad at Tagge Station. Natasi sat in her hoverchair and waited for the ramp to touch down, then piloted herself out down the ramp to meet the escort of stormtroopers, TIE pilots, and other ground forces that had come to meet her shuttle. The Grand Moff shook hands with commanders and made small talk with the enlisted men as she made her way down the central aisle. As yet, she did not see [member="Carlyle Rausgeber"]. It was -- well, it was par for the course with Rausgeber.

"I was actually at Thakwaa, ma'am," one of the men she was talking to said, crouching down onto one knee to speak to her. "And I was station at Dosuun during the siege. I can't tell you what it means that you were in the thick of it with us. Never been prouder, ma'am."

Natasi felt him squeeze her hand through her glove and returned it. "It's not for you to be proud, Lieutenant, but for me to be proud of you -- all of you. You do tremendous work under difficult and dangerous circumstances. We all owe you a real debt of gratitude." She offered the trooper a smile and he nodded his helmeted head, then stood and stepped back into line. Natasi looked away, moving further down the line. It was strange to have a connection to someone like that -- someone whose name she'd never know, whose face she would never see and even if she did, she'd never know it. But still -- there was a tiny thread between them now, and would remain there forever.

"It's all been bloody marvellous..."

Carlyle exited from the confines of the command tower, escorted by senior stormtroopers and naval staff. The procession continued across the expanse of the tarmac from the tower to the shuttles landing ramp. Carlyle hadn't personally been on Dosuun during the brief and brutal occupation of the Ssi Ruuk. But he had heard the stories well enough. But not of Grand Moff Fortan's, well, less than spectacular appearance. The hoverchair startled the man, but he nonetheless approached with a smile on his face. The cap was ostentatious along with the white that stood out among the senior officers.
As soon as he was less than three meters, the commodore bowed in front of his superior. "Grand Moff Fortan," He introduced himself, "What an unexpected pleasure." He said before standing upright, "I apologies for my tardiness. And would personally love to invite you to Tagge Military Base." He said before gesturing around them, "This fortress, Grand Moff, if I may," he added with a small smile, "This is the future of our defensive doctrine, able to repel even the toughest orbital bombardments, and the most determined assaults." He turned back to her, "It's simple deployability makes it an asset on recently conquered worlds."

Natasi reached a hand out to shake hands with [member="Carlyle Rausgeber"]. "No apologies are necessary, Commodore," she said flatly. "You were not informed of my arrival until moments ago. Security purposes, I'm sure you understand. You remember my private secretary, Sioux Chambers?" Sioux extended her hand as well and murmured a polite greeting to the naval man. "This is all most impressive, Commodore," Natasi said gravely, looking past him as they moved towards the entrance tot he complex. "Is there some reason you are wearing a uniform that does not meet regulations, Commodore?" She maneuvered her chair alongside the man, and did not look up at him when she spoke.

She despised people who marched to the beat of their own drummers.

"At any rate, let's get down to brass tacks, shall we? I've read your briefing on the subject but I'd prefer to hear it from the Gundark's mouth. Tell me about your technological marvel here. What exactly am I expected to fork out funds from the defense budget to build, hm?"

RIP Carlyle Rausgeber

"It's all been bloody marvellous..."
Carlyle extended his hand to the Moff's secretary, "Miss Chambers, as always, a pleasure." He warmly greeted. He turned to the Grand Moff, and began to address her query in terms of the change of uniform. "This technological marvel we have built, was inspired by the work of a great man of history." Carlyle said with a small smile, "Orson Krennic may have lived near millennia ago, but his ambition, and tenacity, I would like to think, live on in this fortress design." he thoughtfully paused, and looked the Moff in the eye, "Consider it, method acting." He added with a wry smile.

"What we have built here Grand Moff Fortan, is a facility capable of supporting in both a defensive, and offensive capacity." He then paused, whether it was for effect, or string thoughts together, no one would know. "The whole base, all of it, took merely three days to construct and become fully operational." He said, "The command tower is what lags behind the construction ." He added, "But the more important part is the fortifications." He gestured to one of the garrison modules in the distance. It was a hulking structure bristling with turbolasers and pillboxes. "These can be deployed within mere hours and provide troops with a respite to fall back to, and a defensive point to drive back counter attacks. It gives our troops a foothold on hostile systems." He informed her with a massive grin. Carlyle was for the first time ever, giddy in the Grand Moff's presence, "The planetary shield generator, within four, and the ion cannon module, in six." He informed her, "Weather permitting of course." He added with a chuckle.

"In a defensive capability, with a built up fortress like this, this base will be able to provide vital support to naval personnel and deploy troops to meet the enemy wherever they come." Carlyle said, as they entered the cool embrace of the command tower, "It's two fighter wings are able to match the enemy, and provide devestating fire support for troops on the ground. Along with that, comes the turbolasers, built to destroy enemy capital ships, but able to obliterate enemy armour." Carlyle added, "Should a planet be taken, this base would be able to withstand a siege for months, able to harass enemy shipping, and attacks." Carlyle paused, "Grand Moff Fortan, this base offers the single largest change to our military doctrine since the Eridau incident, it would be able to effectively allow us to rapidly move, command and control systems as they fall into line." Carlyle said, "This sort of base, will allow us to resist the best the Galactic Alliance and their sycophants can throw at us."
