Derisive Umbaran
[[ DOMINION ]]
Maramere is an aquatic world with precious few interesting features. Aside from, you know, water. There are a few dozen island chains scattered throughout the planet's surface, but these are like specks of dust in an infinite ocean. Nevertheless, the Techno Union has need for this world. Or rather, the Techno Union has need to drive some enemies hostile to it from the world.Your objectives, should you choose to accept them, are the following.
A: The Trade Federation
Centuries ago, the Trade Federation used Maramere as a repository for the stygium crystals they harvested from Aeten II. Most of those repositories have been either destroyed by the passage of time or looted by treasure hunters and fortune seekers. Most of them were thought long gone, but the Techno Union likes to search for these things thoroughly. We've found one in an extensive underwater research facility located within Maramere's Northernmost oceans.
Hop into one of our aquatic vehicles, breach the facility, see what you can find. In addition to the Stygium crystals inside, we're willing to bet good money that the Trade Federation have at least one schematic or bioweapon in the works still inside.
B: The Retail Caucus
Those rat bastards in the Retail Caucus are stirring up trouble on our turf again. They've set up a water purification plant on one of Maramere's tropical islands. Our spies report that they're planning on shipping cheap water to Tatooine en masse. They'll use the revenue to buy out the Tatooine's moisture farmers and destroy any of the other scarce sources of water on the planet. They'll follow that up by ceasing all water shipments from Maramere. A water crisis on Tatooine would have to be dealt with by the Techno Union, not to mention incredibly costly and a blow to international prestige. So, obviously we're not going to allow that to happen.
Join the strike team heading for the facility and capture it. The Retail Caucus have already had to deal with several nationalistic Mere militias, so the plant is heavily fortified. On that note, the Retail Caucus actually has permission from the Mereish government to operate on the planet. You will need to dress up as pirates for this.
C: The Sons of Quodeith Blei
We are all intimately familiar with the cell of Yuuzhan-Vong we drove off of Rodia. Although they are all long dead, exterminated on one of the few planets they fled to in the wake of their eviction from Rodia, their relatives on other systems have risen together to more coherently oppose us. They style themselves as the Sons of Quodeith Blei- the most influential high priest we had executed in Rodia's capitol building. They've sworn to stir up trouble in this sector until the deaths of Vong on Rodia are avenged.
Like that'll ever happen.
The Prime Minister of Maramere, Grell Lorj, will be giving a speech today to a crowd of three hundred thousand Mere, Neimoidians, Twi'leks, and Mon Calamari. Grell Lorj is a staunch ally of the free market. His only qualm is that he doesn't know which corporate juggernaut to ally himself with. Will it be the Retail Caucus or the Techno Union? As such, Grell Lorj has invited dozens of representatives from both parties to witness the speech and schmooze him afterwards.
The Sons of Quodeith Blei are planning his assassination. I am told it will be gruesome. We know they will try something, but we don't know how or when. The Retail Caucus also knows something will go down, but we don't believe they know it will be perpetrated by Vong. Grell Lorj and the Maramere government seem to be the only ones who don't know there will be an attempt on his life during the speech.
Disrupting the assassination and capturing the perpetrators will bring us a lot of prestige. Not only that, but Grell Lorj will be endeared to our cause. But the Retail Caucus knows this as well, so we'll need to compete against their top security contractors to foil the attempt and unravel the conspiracy before they do.
You guys can do that, I'm sure. I have faith in you.
D: Housekeeping
It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it, and there's always something to do. Recruit some experts to the system's Committee of Planetary Development, find a local University for the Techno Union to sponsor, bust some criminal scum, establish a garrison or a mining operation, etc. Some of you may work for companies who might have separate whims to pursue. Go do as they ask.
But remember- we're not mass murdering Sith, nor are we goody-two-shoes Republic. If it's a murderous dick move or if it doesn't bring us any profit (or both), probably don't do it.
