NAME: Dorin Arkx
FACTION: The Order of Force Hunters
RANK: Master Hunter
SPECIES: Augmented Human
AGE: Physically 28, biologically 52
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 6'2
WEIGHT: 200 Lbs
EYES: Black
HAIR: Dark Brown
SKIN: Pale, almost sickly white
FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes
STRENGTHS:
- +Augmented: Dorin was subjected to a number of enhancements in his early adulthood, greatly increasing his fortitude, resistance to poisons, dark vision, lifespan, and awareness. He also has increased control over bodily functions, including balance, motor control, and breath control.
- +Arcanist: Dorin is an unparalleled expert in the realm of arcane items such as Sith & Jedi Relics, Holocrons, and other enchanted items. He can often identify what period an item was from, what general purpose an item serves, and detect if the Force has left an imprint on an item, be it a memory, vision, or full-fledged Force Ghost.
- +Force Wielder: Dorin was touched by the force at birth, and was taught by his father to control it from an early age. When he was old enough, he joined a Force Sensitive order and continued his training. He possesses standard abilities such as telekinetics, warning sense, and Force Push, and specializes in Bestial Influence.
- +Bladesman: Dorin has trained extensively with melee weapons, including lightsabers, and is a skilled combatant against his fellow sentients.
- +Proto-Armor: Dorin's greatest tool is his proto-armor (Pictured above), which he crafted in his thirties to commemorate becoming a journeyman hunter. Over the years, he has tweaked, and added to this armor. The unique design appears organic, but is entirely mechanical in composition.
- +Arkani: Dorin's first blade. Forged from Beskar metal infused with Bondar crystals, this sword was granted to him upon joining the order, and he has kept it by his side ever since. The special nature of this sword allows him to commune with the blade, augmenting its abilities with the force.
- +Infuser: Dorin practices an unusual form of Force Use, forsaking the usual combat oriented powers in favor of what he nicknamed Infusions. He can channel the Force through his blade to create a number of different effects, detailed below.
- +Resolve: Dorin is now the last of his kind. And though the first weeks are sure to be rough, Dorin is a fighter, and will do everything in his power to not only fix his own situation, but to help ensure no one ever has to suffer the same fate.
- -Augmentation: In spite of the benefits Dorin's augmentation provides, there are a few downsides. Dorin's eyes are capable of seeing in much lower light than normal, but at the cost of increased light sensitivity. Normal sunlight is often blinding to him.
- -Sterile: Another cost of Dorin's augmentations, Dorin will never be able to have a child.
- -Freelancer: Dorin has seen times of economic hardship as a result of his work. After all, one cannot control the availability or frequency of hunts. While some contracts pay well, Dorin is often forced to live credit to credit without the support of a patron.
- -Unbalanced Blade: Dorin has trained with a variety of Melee weapons, but his focus on swords has diminished his ability with a lightsaber. Because of this, he can use one in a pinch, but has trouble adapting to the weightless blade.
- -Tremors: Likely a byproduct of the trauma of losing one's entire people, Dorin has developed a slight tremor in his left hand that grows worse with stress. As such, his aim with a blaster is...dubious, at best.
APPEARANCE:
Dorin stands about six feet tall, and is quite muscular as a result of his athletic lifestyle. His face and body bear many scars, many appearing bestial in nature. His face, when he does reveal it, bears a tribal tattoo around his left eye. His eyes are completely black orbs as a result of his augmentation, but are rarely seen as he must keep them covered when in anything but low light. His hair is dark brown, and cut short, shaved along the sides, with the top long enough to form a short ponytail.
PERSONALITY:
Dorin was a quiet child growing up, far more interested in reading than he was exploring. Not a particularly talkative creature, but not quite shy either. Once he joined the Order, Dorin became a very serious individual. Humor is not lost on him, but he rarely laughs anymore. Eliciting a snort from him is about the best result a being can hope for. Dorin always had a quiet determination about him, and a confidence that often crossed the line into arrogance. His abilities are unparalleled in the realm of mercenary work, and he is fully aware of this.
After the destruction of his Order, Dorin's faith is shaken. His quiet resolve is perhaps the only thing preventing his grief from becoming an untimely demise. He's far quieter, and far less confident in his abilities. Survivor's Guilt weighs heavy on him, and he believes that if he had been at the Temple, things might have been different. Now, without the guiding hand of his Order, Dorin feels lost and alone. Still calm under pressure (Particularly in combat situations), Dorin avoids being by himself for too long. The longer he spends meditating on his own thoughts, the more crushing the reality of his situation becomes.
BIOGRAPHY:
PROLOGUE:
Dorin Arkx was born to Force Sensitive parents on Arbra. As soon as he displayed an aptitude for the force, his Father trained him in the ways of the force, and how to control the power he had discovered. As was custom on his tenth birthday, he was subjected to the Ritual of the Hunt. He, along with three others, were selected to join The Order of Force Hunters. Over the next two decades, they trained under mentor hunters, who taught them everything they know about beasts, combat, and the universe at large. The Order, as was custom, permitted Dorin's parents to stay within the Temple, and Dorin remained close to them for his whole life.
Dorin's mentor became like a second Father to him, and Dorin still remains in contact with him to this day, frequently keeping his mentor up to date on his current activities, and comparing his notes to that of his mentor's. Dorin's parents passed away from old age shortly after his ascension to master hunter, and left him their entire estate. Dorin eventually sold what little they had left him, deciding to devote his life to the Order.
Now Dorin wanders the galaxy, looking for work as a bounty hunter, especially for matters often considered out of the realm of normal bounty hunters, such as beasts, force ghosts, or even some force sensitives. To date, Dorin has not taken an Apprentice Hunter of his own, but his reasons are not clear to those outside the order...
UNDERWORLD AWAKENINGS:
Dorin accepted a contract from an individual claiming to be Coruscant Security. Intended just to be a bill paying job, complications arose. Dorin was hired to apprehend a Hutt Slaver, Opara, and provided with a warrant for her arrest. The agent acting as Dorin's liaison cautioned him that the Hutt had a full Paramilitary force at her disposal, and thus would be behind enemy lines with no backup. Dorin continued with the contract, but immediately grew suspicious of the whole affair when he was granted the first half of his payment on an untraceable credit chit. Upon contact with the enemy, Dorin bargained with the guards, attempting to talk his way in to Opara, and enlist her help in discovering the identity of the individual so grossly abusing the skill set of a Force Hunter.
The guards were less than cooperative, which resulting in Dorin wounding three, and killing the rest. When he had Opara dead to rights, he offered her a choice: help him find the man responsible for hiring him, or be left to the mysterious man's mercy. Before she could decide, Dorin's Force Sense warned him of impending danger, allowing him to dive out of the way as the room was showered in blaster bolts. Dorin attempted to pursue his assailants, but was wounded in the initial salvo. For now, he is content to keep an ear to the ground, listening for whispers of anyone brave enough, or foolish enough, to make an enemy of the Force Hunters...
COMMON GROUND:
Around the one year mark into his venturing around the galaxy as a Master Hunter, Dorin took a contract to the planet of Commenor in order to assist one of the occupying Sith Lords with the beasts in his care. The contract itself was uneventful, and Dorin moved on to a local bar to relax for the evening before he moved on to his next contract. While there, he met an individual known as Einon, whom he quickly determined was less than pleased with the local Sith occupation.
Never one to pass up an opportunity, Dorin volunteered his services to aid in the liberation of Commenor. In exchange, he asked only that Einon ensure that the Sith are driven from the planet to serve as an example to the rest of the galaxy. Dorin then contacts the leadership of his order, informing them that he has taken a new contract, again skirting the lines of the Order's pact of neutrality. Dorin persuades the Councilor to permit him to stay, pointing out that someone had made specific reference to Commenor, and could have potentially left something on this planet. No mention was made of the individual's exact identity, but Dorin and the Councilor both understood implicitly that whatever this figure might have left on Commenor could be disastrous if found in the hands of the Sith...
ASHES OF WAR:
Dorin's life took a dark turn during the battle for Commenor. The battle itself went fairly well, in fact, far better than Dorin could have ever hoped. The plan laid by he and Einon was practically flawless. Even when the Sith unleashed a Terentatek in the streets, Dorin was able to improvise and eventually fell the beast. But not without help. A figure seemingly made of shadow intervened, distracting the beast long enough for Dorin to deal the killing blow. It then attacked him, drawing him into a lengthy sword fight in which Dorin realized the Sith Spectre was not trying to kill him, but rather test him. When the spirit was finally felled, Dorin received a vision. Though unsure of what exactly the vision meant, he was suddenly filled with an urge to return to his home planet of Arbra.
When he arrived, he found the temple decimated and in ruins, the nearby village razed to the ground. There were no survivors. Still in a state of shock, Dorin did what he could to bury the dead that could be salvaged from the rubble. In an effort to restore his mental health, now spiraling out of control, he returned to Commenor, deciding his path was clear. He wanted to find the people that slaughtered his family, and make them pay. But with no leads to go on, he decided to settle for the next best thing. He wanted to find out more about this Sith Spirit, and why the ancient texts of his order spoke of The Founder being in direct connection with Commenor...
THE DISCOVERY:
Upon his return to Commenor, Dorin met with Einon again, who offered to take him to the place his answer might lay, if it were on Commenor at all. Dorin, otherwise at a dead end, and rather vulnerable from the destruction of his people, agreed to seek this source Einon spoke of. He was led away from the city, to an ancient stronghold hidden among the foothills on the outskirts.
Inside, Dorin discovered a statue, bearing the crest of his family, Arkx. It held a box, containing a Lightsaber, ancient and defunct. The crystal within carried a memory, but also the scars of a great injury. Dorin and Einon viewed the memory, which confirmed that the Founder was in fact a Sith Lord named Verros. The memory showed glimpses of Verros rallying his remaining forces to defend Commenor during the final days of the Zakuul Invasion, just before the peace treaty was declared.
Confused and disturbed by this revelation, Dorin resolved to get to the bottom of the matter. He did his best to explain some of the vision, and the resulting information to Einon, but he did not tell him that he was a descendant of Verros. When the answers started to run out, Dorin told Einon he was off to seek work to fund this expedition.
Einon, in turn, suggested that Dorin seek the council of Lady Kay, Queen of Commenor. Dorin agreed, after some initial pushback, and ventured forth to seek an audience with the queen, and see if she would be willing to hire him on as he continued to dig further in to both his past, and that of his ancestor's...

Armor
Arkani (Pronounced ARK-an-eye)
Blade of Sorrow
INFUSIONS:
- Poisoned Blade: When augmented with this infusion, Dorin's blade will cause any enemy struck by it to suffer a minor poisonous effect. Usually non-lethal.
- Piercing Blade: Creates a small rift of force energy along the edge, allowing for more damage against scaled beasts, and beasts with tough hides. Typically useless against fabricated armor.
- Electric Blade: The easiest and most basic infusion, infuses the blade with Force Lightning, much like Galen Marek's Sith Strike technique.
- Impact blade: The blade is imbued with raw force energy that discharges when an enemy is struck, releasing a shock-wave directed towards the edge of the blade.
- Glowing Blade: A non-combat infusion, causes the crystals inlaid to the blade to glow brightly, allowing the sword to illuminate dark locations.
