HELM DETAILS
  • Basic and primitive in design, the helmet of this set is decorated in ancient engravings and long horns sprouting from several positions along the top of the helm. In the very top of the helmet are two large holes allowing Shay to slip her natural horns into them and essentially hook the helmet in place without it moving or shaking when moving around. Like the rest of the set, it lacks any form of technological modifications and accessories such as scanners and communications. Built specifically with the intention of protecting the entire head from nearly any kind of traumatic force. The inside is lined with squishy impact gel, preventing blunt impact from severely damaging the wearer. The face mask of the helmet often takes either the shape of a skull or an open crevice with a face engraving in the forehead depending on the variation worn at the time.

ARMOR DETAILS
  • Demonic...one of the many words one might describe the beast who adorns this armor. Designed with brute force and intimidation in mind it bares the mark of evil across its surface with the soft red glow of dark force energy radiating from within the armors core. The red toxic mist emanating from it granting the bearer unprecedented physical prowess. Massive alchemized steel in the shape of dragon heads sported upon the shoulders, gauntlets, and shins of the armor. Horrific images of heads engraved upon the chest of the armor. Also draped in crimson red cloth around the hips and designed to protect the entire body there are very few weak spots in the set, making it incredibly difficult to get past while in an engagement. Like the helmet of the site, the entire body of armor is extremely basic in its design, without a single accessory or technological components this armor set is ancient in how it was made and how it is expected to preform. The Beskar Plating are scattered through the entire set of armor in the most obvious of places such as the shins, thighs, chest, back, helm, gauntlets, arms, and shoulders as well as the feet. The Chainmail however remain in the jointed areas to add one final layer of protection to the soft spots of the armor. The Chainmail is made of durasteel for basic minor protection. The Alchimized parts of the armor are the arms and legs to add to the amplified strength of her limbs and grant her greater lifting power and brute force.

Strengths & Weaknesses

eEasKp3.png
Tank Defense: As intended from its conception Dragons Wrath was built with the intention of being incredibly defense focused. It's thickness prevents penetration from most forms of slugs and blasters. Over-penetrating rounds and extremely high impact firearms as well as specialized melee weapons are ideal to use against this form of armor. Things such as sonic damage and even explosives are still rather effective against this form of armor. Sonic damage can be used to rattle the thick metal and cause disorientation and ect.

su6dlL7.png
Enhanced Physical Power: The armor when being created was enchanted with a physical enhancement which is represented by the vibrant red glow and mist emanating from the armor when being worn. Allowing the wearer to preform physical feats several times that which they are normally capable of, allowing those who would commonly be unable to wear the heavy armor capable of moving around in it without becoming physically exhausted, and someone who is strong enough to wear it the ability to deliver horrific blunt force trauma and surpass a majority of opponents on the battlefield given how the enchantment increases the wearers physical prowess three times that of the strongest humans.

75gwfbll.jpg

ax6J9u6.png
Heavy & Clunky: Being 'heavy' armor means that the wearer sacrifices mobility and speed for more protection. That being said anyone who wears it will likely not be sprinting across battlefields or doing backflips. It is designed for powerhouses and is suited for little else. It is made to tank damage and deliver crushing punishment to however finds themselves in its wearers wake. It also restricts a great amount of flexibility and movement, preventing the wearer from preforming things such as twist, spins and fluid movement very effectively.

4g6n71I.png
Lack of Utility: Unlike other armors which have scanners, rebreathers and ect, this armor does not do any of that and is specifically built for withstanding massive amounts punishment while also dishing out plenty. No jetpacks, grappling hooks, communications, built in cooling system or batteries. Completely old fashioned and primitive in its design and function.

GWtvLuB.png
Soft Spot: Like most set of armors Dovahs Wrath has exposed joints which can sometimes be easily targeted in order to slow down or incapacitate the wearer. These soft spots are located in the elbow area, the groin, the neck, and the knee areas and are the least armored parts of the set. While they do have mild protection via chain mail, it is not as well protected as the rest of the armor.

ceNZc64.png
Obscured Vision: Dovahs wrath has a flaw within the design of its helmet in order to maximize its protection, but in doing so the helmet gives the wearer something similar to tunnel vision. Because of this in order to look around the wearer must rotate their head to where they wish to see and look up to actually 'see' up. Because of this loss of the field of vision there are many attacks the wearer may not see coming leaving them prone to sneak attacks.

aKek3pz.png
Vulnerable to Gas: Because of the lack of a filtering system and other modern day armor components Dovah's Wrath is rather exposed to gas based attacks such as Force Breakers, Smoke Grenades, and Toxic Gas which can effect the wearer unhindered.

oPKjt7J.png
Force Light: Given the armors alignment to the dark side and its heavy use of Sith Alchemy Force Light is a very real threat to the armor and its wearer.

Cg7FLOv.png
Force Nullification: Force nullifying fields, Void Stones, and ect can render the bonus of the armor absolute. Removing the added strength bonus which can be rather troublesome depending on the situation.

7og4RH0.png
High Impact: No matter how powerful and full proof the armor is there will always be instances where the armor may survive but the wearer will not. One example of this is an extremely high blunt force impact capable of turning whoever is inside the armor into paste. Extremely high falls, high pressure explosives, high caliber sniper slugs and ect are all things that the armor can withstand but the wearer will end up feeling the impact from, capturing organs or breaking bones.

QvOJfrn.png
Horns: More of a specific weakness to Shay herself, the horns that are exposed by the helmet can be easily grappled and thus she can be manipulated while within said armor...though we know what they say about bulls don't we? While the strategy is effective, it is a dangerous and bold move.

Description & Development

Enigmatic devils croon havoc, vexation upon the scorching sands, while the predatory, apex of the beast remains nestled within the safety of sovereign walls. They suckle, drink heavily at thee breast of life, birthed into a world of lecherous animosity and fevered bedlam based upon the preaching of depravity. Based within the throes of a primeval world, of primal instinct and fervid inamorata. The old testaments, and wills upon which the livid enchantments of history confound upon, ligaments and tissues of a lascivious heart of archaic, rustic mystery. How profound, this Bible of deceit, it has birthed an iron will, if but for the breath of a moment and let unto the very enthralling lips of enigmatic monster.

Walk among those of barbaric enticement, lingering primeval ghosts. Prolific monoliths of times well passed, and yet still they remain, straying remnants of a world which refuses to change. Taste the euphoric rapture, the bitter, acrid knife of betrayal slipping amorously between lithe, dulcet ribs. Enthrall in the cataclysmic mutiny of two worlds expanding, imploding, clashing against one another in a heated affair. Created in the wake of a monstrous beasts, His path unfurled as if coaxing closer, closer still the rush of a curious mind until gnashing severity of fangs sever all thought from a feeble stem and cerebral musings.

Dragons bestow their ferocity to an equally vicious soul, a woman powerful enough to wield the wrath of the beast. It was this that defined the armor you see here today. Ancient power brought into the modern day. The Dragoness will rise once more, a fire thought to be extinguished still survives as smoldering embers.

The smith has seen it...watched the galaxy evolve. Weapons and armor of destruction complex by design...not she. For a single woman remembered the old ways and held onto them like a babe holds its mothers breast. She remembered the fire, and designed every piece of armor from with a single intent in mind. To create an highly effective tanky set of armor that compliments only the most physically superior warriors.

Please use the correct armor template - this one is outdated.

Please link the source of the second image.

You’ve got beskar, several underlays, and alchemized steel (which ought to be added under Materials & Special Features).
You then list “heavy” as a Weakness, and give 13 kg as the weight – which is the exact opposite.

Beskar is heavy in and of itself, and alchemization roughly doubles the weight of the object. Given the materials used, and how they are used - big pauldrons, lots of excess ornamental material - and with additional underlays, chainmail, and impact gel, you’re looking at 45 kg at the very least.

Also please be clear in regards to what specific armor parts are made of. Where is the beskar used? What’s used for the chainmail? Which materials are alchemized? Etc.

Accessories listed under Modularity contradict the armor’s Weakness of “No accessories”.
Also explain which components are modular.

10x strength is way over the top. Significantly reduce this.

Horns and armor ornaments should be a grappling Weakness. The head would be laughably easy to manipulate once grabbed by one of the many horns.

No armor is indestructible - remove any references to this, as well as any other lines that imply the same.
Furthermore, there are situations where the armor will survive the damage, but the person inside it won’t.
How do explosives fare against this?
How does sonic damage affect the user?
How do extreme temperatures affect the user?

Joints should go under Weaknesses. Suits of armor cannot have full coverage everywhere due to mobility.

Force-enhancement/Alchemy wouldn’t work when faced with Force-nullifying effects like Ysalamiri, Yuuzhan Vong, Voidsteel, etc.
Alchemized items are also notably weak against Force Light, which can render them useless or even destroy them.
Add these things under Weaknesses.

Edited everything i could. Never really made my own armor before so i struggled trying to figure out how to go about it. But your suggestions helped me out greatly. I added a number of the weaknesses you suggested as well as a few of my own and added the details you asked about in the first strength section and the 'Armor Details' section.

That's fine. I'm here to help you make this balanced, so you can go have fun with it in RP. :)
That being said, let's get back into it.

The Chainmail is lined in Cortosis in order to prevent lightsabers from slicing through the only part of the armor incapable of withstanding such a devastating blow.
  • As per the Restricted Materials rules:
    6. Only in instances are two restricted materials allowed per submission, but it's all dependent on intent. New alloys created by blending two or more Restricted Materials are not allowed.
  • You've got Beskar and Cortosis now. Given the other strengths of this submission, I can't allow this. Please remove all references to Cortosis and pick another material for the chainmail.

Things such as sonic damage and even explosives are also ineffective against this armor. Sonic damage is resisted because of the armors overall thickness and highly resistant properties while explosives do little more than make the wearer flinch given how heavy and statuesque the armor is. It would have to be quite the impactful explosive for this armor to be damaged or phased.
  • Firstly, sonic damage= sonic waves, which travel more easily through metal/armor – it doesn't in any way block them. It would essentially rattle the wearer of this armor around in a very, very hard tin can, likely amplifying the damage as opposed to reducing it. Now, the impact gel lining would mitigate this to a degree, but the armor definitely has no means of offering complete sonic damage resistance.
  • Secondly – what allows it to shrug off explosives with such ease? The beskar might be fine, but the concussion damage from the explosion would, again, travel through the armor, get somewhat dampened by the impact gel, and proceed to wreak havoc upon the wearer's organs and bones.
  • As I said, there are types of damage where the quality of armor itself is rendered rather irrelevant – mostly sonic and concussive. Unless you can give me a solid reasoning as to what would offer this armor such resistances against these two things, you'll have to remove them both.

  • This is now too vague. I'd like an estimate of how much "power enhancement" this provides. Does it make your character as strong as a wookiee? More? Less? Something in the style of "twice as strong as a normal human" is fine.
  • I'm also uncomfortable with how this would allow the wearer to shrug off 50 kg of armor like it's nothing. For the record, a "normal" full plate suit of armor weighed around 25 kg or thereabouts. This is twice that weight. Strength enhancement or not, this would be tiring to fight in, period. The enhancement may make it easier to wear, but combat fatigue would be a massive concern with this armor.
  • In regards to this part: someone who is strong enough to wear it the ability to deliver horrific blunt force trauma and surpass a majority of opponents on the battlefield
Since this is a unique armor with a set owner, I can judge this directly for your character – nobody else is going to be using it.
Clearly this is meant to cater to the "Physical Peak / Superior Strength" abilities of your character. To be quite frank, the species you're using is unapproved and archived. In a PvP setting, people will cry foul about that, especially if these are abilities that would allow you to utilize this submission in a way your character shouldn't be able to. I cannot, in good conscience, approve something with what is clearly a loophole meant to bypass the codex. Remove this.

Edited again.

As for the weight thing, would it be alright to have it enchanted to feel Lighter to the wearer while feeling heavier to external forces? For example, Thors hammer can be easily lifted and manipulated by thor himself, whose anyone else who tries to touch it finds it 'heavy' for arguments sake. Would that be suitable? I'm not sure what weight could make it work for you without making it just a statue more than a suit of armor.

And for what i mean by certain components and accessories, i mean that you can trade out the gauntlets for say another set of differently designed or style of gauntlets. Small things like changing the shin guards or helmet. What the armor does not have are technological accessories like scanners, filters, jetpacks, and a things like that.

On a final note regarding Shays species, i am aware it is archived but i am bringing it out to finish it. I am just getting her gear together ahead of time since her species is already all written up and thus easier to just edit. Plus once i do bring it out it might take longer to be reviewed so i'm getting the faster and simpler stuff out of the way.

If possible, can we simply restrict use of this armor unless her species gets approved? Give me word i wont use it unless i have the corresponding strengths designed to match with the armor.

You reference the armor's thickness several times throughout the submission as being the source of its great resistant properties.
How thick do you imagine the plates are?

  • My issue lies with the enchantment essentially "negating" the fact that it's an absurdly heavy armor.
  • You can have the enchantment alleviate that weight, but make a note that it will still drain the user's stamina much faster than an ordinary suit of armor.
It weighs over a hundred pounds. This is non-negotiable.
Cinder Rose said:

  • As it stands, the strength enhancement of this armor is such:
    1) If the user is a 'normal' person, it only helps them wear it without literally succumbing under the weight;
    2) but, if the user already has 'superhuman' strength, then the enhancement instead grants them what's essentially 3x human strength.
  • Because it's an unique submission, there's zero doubt about who's going to be using this – your character, who possesses the 'superhuman' strength that would qualify her for option 2).
  • Now, here's the rub: That superhuman strength stems from a species ability, and the species is unapproved. Trying to use this submission in the way 2) describes would get you reported, and rightly so.

I'll work with you to iron out all the few remaining kinks of this sub, but until you resolve the issue with the species, I can't approve the armor.
I'll archive this submission while you work on getting the Drava approved. When you've successfully done so, this can be brought out again and wrapped up.

If you mean to say you're working on the species sub, then please notify me of such. I'll archive this submission in the meantime.

Edited...as for how thick the plates are. Probably thick enough to not be rendered obsolete by the most trivial of assaults. So essentially nothing like big sniper slugs are going to pass through it like butter. Probably several inches or something which falls in line with it since it is apparently going to end up being a hundred pounds.

Cinder Rose said:
Probably several inches
  • Several inches of plating is a viable armor thickness for a vehicle. Armor suits tended to have a thickness between 1.5–3 mm.
  • Now, here's the main issue I see with this. You're shooting for a traditional "armor plate" suit. That's fine.
However, traditional armor suits were not made to withstand modern types of damage and attack, e.g. sniper rifles, explosives, etc.
  • While your use of beskar and impact gel mitigates these disadvantages to a degree, it's still primarily designed as a traditional suit of armor, and therefore unable to tank all of the damage, all of the time.
The armor doesn't need to be absurdly thick, certainly not several inches. My point is, plate armor is only good against certain things, and big sniper slugs aren't one of them. That's what the impact gel is there for, to lessen the brunt of the impact. Multiple shots to the same area, or weapons that are explicitly stated to have a high kinetic impact, won't penetrate the armor – but the person will still be severely damaged.

With the above explanation in mind, please tone down the 'stipulations' of the High Impact weakness:

Cinder Rose said:
Extremely high falls, getting hit by a ship and ect are all things that the armor can withstand but the wearer will not.
  • This should also include explosives, high-powered sniper rifles, etc. "Getting hit by a ship" cannot be the low bar.

Tag me after you've completed the edit, and I will archive this. After your Drava species is approved, you can bring this back out to judging.

Thank you. :)

As I've said before, I cannot approve this submission before the underlying species submission is approved by my fellow Codex judges.

For this reason, I'll now archive this armor – when the Drava species gets stamped in the Codex, just PM Raziel, Jamie Pyne, or Cira, and this submission will be brought back out for judging.
