Valery looked over her shoulder one last time before she disappeared into thick, black smoke. The weight he carried with him was a constant burden in the Force. One that needed to be lifted, but this was not the right time. But Valery wouldn't forget — no matter what happened, she would never give up on any Padawan in need of help.
<Do you feel it?>
Her telepathic voice soon reached out, as they drew closer to the fire. The heat that burned against any piece of exposed skin grew in intensity, but there was something more. A sinister force put pressure on their minds, as if it searched for a way into the depths of their memories.
Within the smoke, Valery's figure would soon be harder to see. Her dark silhouette flickered like a flame, but grew more distant with every step they took.
Then, a figure appeared to Bren's right, away from their path but trapped within the smoke.
