Valery's eyes widened as she looked at the dress Eryx proudly held up, her hand moving to her chest as a wave of emotion washed over her. The rich green fabric and the elegant gold accents were unmistakably Keshian in design, reminiscent of her own culture and her roots. She hadn't expected anything like this, especially not here on Epicanthix.

But how?

She looked up at Kahlil, her eyes brimming with warmth and gratitude as she reached out and gently took the beautiful dress from their son. "How did you… when did you find this?" she asked, her voice soft, touched with surprise and joy. "I didn't even notice you looking. You didn't go to Keshi, did you?"

Kahlil's warm smile and Eryx's proud little grin melted her heart. It was more than just a dress; it was a thoughtful gesture, a connection to who she was.

"You two are just too good for me..." Valery felt her lips tremble and decided to hide her emotions by first leaning down to kiss Eryx on the cheek and forehead. Then, she shifted her body up and looked her husband in the eyes with nothing but love shimmering in her gaze, "If you got my measurements right, this is going to look amazing," she teased before leaning in to give him a kiss as well.

And for once, Eryx wasn't jealous and squealed happily.

"For better or worse, people here know who I am. Who you are. I don't accept the title of Prince, but we helped build this city and they'll always remember that. Epicanthix are the kind to appreciate all beauty, there's little chance they wouldn't notice the beauty the Keshian have as I have." He leaned down into the kiss, keeping it mostly brief to not wear out Eryx's acceptance of his parent's love for one another.

"I know we haven't gone back recently, but, we should. And there's a lot of folks here who want to see them and learn from them here too. What do you say? You think they nailed getting the Keshian style right with this?"

Valery's eyes softened, brimming with gratitude and warmth as she took in Kahlil's words and the beautiful Keshian dress. Her fingers delicately traced the intricate gold detailing, marveling at the thoughtful craftsmanship. "It's… perfect," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. The dress was more than fabric — it was a reminder of her heritage, a bridge between Keshi and the new life she'd built with Kahlil.

The thought of returning to Keshi filled her with joy, and she gave him a glowing smile. "I'd love that. Going back with you, with the kids… and whoever from Niv Hani wants to join. It's been too long."

Stepping into the changing room, Valery slipped into the dress. She took a moment to admire the fit and feel, the way it accentuated her form and captured the elegance of her culture. When she reemerged, her movements were slow and graceful, each step deliberate. She turned, letting the fabric swirl lightly around her, and ran a hand through her hair, flashing him a playful, yet alluring smile.

She wasn't sure if she ever felt this beautiful before.

"Seems you got my measurements just right," she teased, her gaze meeting his with a spark of mischief and affection, "But how does it look? A keeper, huh? Maybe I should wear it when we host the festival..." To bring cultures together.

After her fire dance, of course.

"Green is a unique color for a festival of flame. Perhaps we can find something in a similar style, but more red?" Kahlil hummed in thought, clearly putting more and more into this. He absolutely wanted to have her show off her people's clothing. It was beautiful, after all. And, well, so was Valery herself. His smile only grew as he actually let his mind wander.

Fashion wasn't a side of him that he often let show, but it was here. He absolutely knew her measurements, after all.

"When would you like to go?"

Valery's smirk deepened at the mention of a red dress for the festival, her amber eyes flashing with a playful glint. "I suppose I could use another," she teased, a hint of mischief coloring her tone. "My only other red dress is… well, you remember the one from Hapes." She arched an eyebrow, recalling the daring outfit she'd worn back then. Certainly not suited for a family-friendly festival, given the risk of a malfunction, but perhaps something similar would capture the spirit of her fire dance just right.

"When would I like to go?" She echoed, her gaze turning warm again. "As soon as you're free from Senate duty. Which, I hope, means very soon." Her excitement was clear as she looked up at him, the thought of returning to Keshi filling her with anticipation and joy. It was a chance to reconnect with her heritage and introduce it to her family, a moment she had longed for but never expected to be able to share in this way.

With one last smile, she slipped back into the changing booth, eager to try on the final dress. This time, she let her hair fall loose, cascading over her shoulders in soft waves that framed her face. She took a moment, adjusting the sleek fabric so that it hugged her curves just right, and gave herself an appreciative glance in the mirror. The dress was a deep, rich blue, with daring cuts that hinted at both elegance and allure.

When she stepped out, her movements were slow and deliberate, each step carrying a graceful confidence as she approached Kahlil. She circled around him, letting him take in every detail, and flashed him a smirk that challenged and invited all at once.

"This one," she murmured, her voice low and playful, "Is for date night."

Eryx giggled and clapped his little hands.

"That was a very pretty dress." Pretty wasn't the only word for it, but it was the only one he'd use in the company they currently had of their giggling, happy baby boy. As for when? He just smiled and nodded his head. They'd certainly go soon, very soon. It was time for the last dress though, which had him smiling all too bright and perhaps.. Looking a little closer still.

His approval was obvious. At least Eryx was also in approval, which pulled him out of the little smile stare he had.

"Then I am looking quite forward to date night."

Valery caught the admiration in Kahlil's gaze, her own eyes sparking with playfulness. She gave a slow, graceful twirl, letting the rich red fabric of her dress swirl around her form. The color complemented her deeply, flowing over her figure in ways that left little to the imagination yet carried a timeless elegance. As she completed the spin, her gaze met his, a smile curving at her lips as she spoke with a low, suggestive tone.

"Well, you’ll have plenty of time to appreciate it more on date night."

With a wink, she left him standing there with their giggling son and disappeared back into the changing booth for the final dress. This one, chosen especially for the Festival of Fire, was something truly special. She had selected an Epicanthix design in honor of Kahlil's heritage, knowing it would be a perfect fit for such a vibrant celebration. The dress was a breathtaking blend of elegance and allure, hugging her form with intricate patterns along the bodice, while the fabric flowed down her body with a delicate grace, almost like the flicker of flames themselves. Small, intricate golden accents traced along the neckline and waist, adding a touch of regal beauty.

Taking a steadying breath, Valery adjusted the dress, allowing the fabric to settle perfectly against her curves. She stepped out with a confidence that only increased with Kahlil’s approving gaze, and with a smirk, she turned slightly, letting him take in every detail of the dress.

“You’ll come watch my dance, right?” she asked, her voice soft but laced with excitement, as though the question was more a promise than anything else.

"I know it's spicer, but I wanted something Epicanthix that draws attention for the dance."

Kahlil's expression softened on this last dress. Fire dancing. So that's what she'd been trying to hid from him, huh? He'd done his best not to pry into it, despite their Dyad. Whatever it was she'd been working on, he could feel her excitement and pride over it. Now seeing what the intention was? He was all smiles, nodding his head in his approval as he carried Eryx in his lap.

"Mama's beautiful, isn't she? She'll dance the best, won't she."

Valery's smile deepened at Eryx's enthusiastic cooing and flailing, his tiny hands stretching toward her as if he could grasp the very fabric of her dress. She spun once more, her movements fluid, the rich, fire-hued gown flaring around her like dancing flames. When she turned back, her amber eyes practically glowed, a flicker of raw energy behind them.

The air shifted subtly, a brief rise in temperature radiating from her as a delicate flame wove along her arms in an intricate, fleeting dance. It was just enough to tease at the power she wielded, yet subdued so as not to disrupt the surroundings.

"You better be there to watch," she said, her tone teasing yet commanding, her smile holding a playful challenge.

She closed the distance between them, her hand brushing lightly against his arm as she gestured to the dress. "What do you think? Should I wear it home to keep you and Eryx entertained? Or would you rather I change into something more casual — or perhaps one of the other dresses?"

Kahlil chuckled lightly, still holding Eryx. Back, for now, given the grabby hands he had for Mom's dress. "I think he's going to be a pyromancer, just like mom." He did seem all too eager to reach for the flame that Valery's dress appeared to be. Which was adorable. Very adorable. "Hmm.. You did say you wanted something less sexy, so, perhaps something causal for the walk home my love?"

Valery's expression melted into warm delight as she leaned in close to Eryx, her voice soft and sweet. "Are you going to be a little pyromancer like Mommy, hm?" she cooed, brushing a gentle finger over his chubby cheek. The baby giggled and clapped his hands, but what came next froze her in joyous shock.

"Mama!" Eryx squealed, his voice clear and bright.

Valery's eyes widened before sheer joy overtook her. "Kahlil! Did you hear that? His first word!" She laughed, hugging Eryx tightly in pure joy, "We'll have to go home now!" She exclaimed before retreating to the changing booth.

Moments later, Valery emerged in a sleek, casual outfit — a soft, fitted sweater cropped just above her waist, revealing toned abs, paired with comfortable dark shorts and patterned tights that gave a playful edge.

She twirled for Kahlil, a playful smirk on her lips. "This is technically casual" she teased.

Kahlil's expression lit right up the moment Eryx called out. Was it surprising that mama was his first word? No, not at all. What was was the fact he said it now! He tossed Eryx up in a bubbling laugh of his own, grinning ear to ear as the boy giggled and laughed as he was caught safely in Kahlil's arms. "Look at just how smart he is~" He grinned ever still, though his gaze shifted as Valery stepped out.

Casual, huh.

"Sure, we can call that casual." He snickered, but reached out to take her hand and tug her along. With Eryx's first word he'd tease Valery later about it. Right now? Pancake celebration time. "Let's get home."

Valery's heart felt light as they strolled out of the store, her hand nestled comfortably in Kahlil's. The city buzzed around them, but within their little bubble, the world seemed quieter, softer. Eryx babbled happily in his father's arms, occasionally breaking into giggles that made both parents smile.

Valery glanced over at Kahlil, her expression tender. "I think he's going to want pancakes every time he says 'Mama' now."

They reached their speeder, and as they buckled Eryx in, Valery leaned close, brushing a kiss to Kahlil's cheek. "Let's make it a night to remember."

With that, the Noble family took off toward home, the promise of pancakes and warmth awaiting them. Tonight, their little world was perfect.
