Private Drive Casual

Mi'la's focus strained, the padawan's power wasn't immense by any means, though the desire to not die was a rather powerful motivator. The fire continued to pelt away at the shield, and with it, Mi'la's strength waned. Her eyes focused on the two speeders that continued to fire, though Leea's skilled piloting abilities enabled the pair to close the distance. It was fortunate timing on her part as well, for the Twi'lek didn't have left in her.

The continued fire broke away at the shield, and for a moment Mi'la's concentration lapsed, the Twi'lek released the power and lashed out with her hand. Seizing the turret, she slammed into the bottom of it's barrel, knocking it upwards as it shot it's next burst, and struck the opposite swoop, and sent to careening into the far wall. However, that wouldn't spare Leea's swoop from being struck by the last several blaster shots from the newly wrecked swoop. The impact nearly sent Mi'la off the side of the vehicle, though worst by far was the fact the remaining swoop was attempting to take aim at the pair once more. Mi'la fell against the swoop, her hand managing to raise up and fire hastily placed shots into the turret, and only managed to score a single shot; managing to knock the aim of the turret's aim for a moment, and giving Leea the opening she might need to pull ahead of the pairs attacker.

Leea could feel the power coursing around them, charged Force creating a physical barrier that defended better than any shield the speeder could have carried. Mi'la was proving her strength in the Force and the green-skinned humanoid couldn't expect to help much in this feat. Instead, Pandac turned her attention to waiting for the moment to pounce. An opportunity would present itself sooner than she was fully prepared for.

The invisible shield caved in, evidenced by a crimson round striking the speeder and shattering the side of the vehicle. Yet, even as this happened, Leea noticed that the other vehicle was firing, not at her speeder, but at its own ally. The surprise of the betrayal was suddenly apparent as the explosion of the blaster rounds sent the poor vehicle into a tight turn, smashing into the still functioning barrier. It was this doomed vessel that gave parting shots before its inevitable demise. The rounds left their mark and Leea was suddenly accosted by a barrage of warning claxons and alarms across her swoop display.

Her attention flitted back and forth across her console as she tried to answer the wailing demands of different systems now injured. The primary thrusters were intact, fortunately. But secondary thrusters and control flaps on the damaged side were heaving and only slightly responsive. The staggering of the vessel, its steady progress now interrupted by the occasional stuttering, told her one of the repulsor coils were fizzling. Leea tried her best to level the swoop and make the violent shaking less severe, but even so, she hoped that Mi'la wasn't too exhausted from her exertion. This wasn't going to be a smooth ride.

"Hold on tight!" She pushed the vehicle forward, flipping emergency systems on and silently praying that the swoop would hold together enough to allow them to finish the race, or more importantly survive. The enemy's larger swoop didn't have the same ability to accelerate under normal circumstances, these were not normal circumstances and Leea was left questioning whether her battered ship would be able to pull away fast enough. Despite the sudden damage, the vehicle seemed to handle well moving out of the antagonistic swoop's turret arc. For now they were safe from that, at least Leea hoped so. How much further do we have? Her mind barely had time to question, as she had to constantly make adjustments and fight the listing of the speeder. You're going to be in the shop for a long while after this.
