Droid For Hire

She leaned forward, she was quite calm and told him her name I am Captain Roscoe of the Desert Rats Recon Company, and you are in the town that I guard. The CCTV was not a request, get it for me or you and your little navy will become scrap. This was said in most calm and relaxed voice, she had backing of major power, and it was there world after all. She had fill in a report and give to her boss explaining why Jimbo was dead. She hated doing thing like that, as many the people in this town where her friends. Simply put if no CCTV, then by tomorrow no bar, know the man she was taking to was probably no fool. She had been in many battles, against the know defunct Omega Protectorate and other powers, she was well known for her sharp shooting capabilities.

The kitty gave him a long, non comprehending look, before realisation slowly dawned in her eyes "Mrow? Oh..Oh yeah I...I'm not really sure why I...I'm here but...Ugh where is here?" She asked, still sounding quite drowsy as she looked about, confused and a tad lost "Assistance I...Did I fall asleep again?" She asked pouting, her ears folding back on her head in a pouting motion

Appearing concerned at the overall flustered appearance of the Jedi, TC-103 attempted to give the answers that she needed. "I apologize to say that you're unaware of how you had gotten here, but this is Tattoine. Mos Eisley's cantina, more specifically. Is there anything that you may need? I was partially programmed as an aide, after all." It was strange for him to ask people if they need help, after being scarred of the death of his latest owner and becoming more independent after that.

"Meow? Kitty cat!"

Gavin grinned like an idiot and reached a gloved arm out to pet the woman's ears, which didn't seem quite logical, but he couldn't ever be called a very logical being. Then his mind caught up with the childish whim, and he looked at the droid with his hand still on the lady's head.

"Oh, yeah, um... Maybe there's somewhere that the staff is less dead to get her some food?"

Staring blankly and awkwardly at the man as he pet the Jedi, TC-103 finally managed to get words out. "Y-Yes, there should be some other cantinas around here somewhere, but I believe that a replacement has been dispatched to serve and the staff's family have been informed." TC-103 attempted to use that as an excuse to stay at the cantina, in hopes that someone eventually finds the advertisement on the poster he put on the wall.

@TC-103 @Gavin XIII

"Wh-Whats going on?" Lizzy asked looking around at the droid. She was in a cantina! A clue, and judging by the sandy nature of the walls, a dessert planet...Dessert...Desert...Now lizzy was hungry too! And ...What....Ah! Someone was touching her ears. Lizzy's eyes closed and her mouth opend slightly as the petting continued, a happy purr emnating from the young woman

Gavin grinned at the droid, glancing around the room to see if anybody was paying attention. Stealing a protocol droid wouldn't be the worst thing, especially if nobody cared to stop him. He looked from the droid to the girl he was still petting, then back at the droid. He pointed a finger.

"Okay, Red, you're mine now. No arguments."

He looked at the Felacatian lady, smiling a little awkwardly.

"And I guess you're mine for lunch. Let's find you something."

"O-Of course, sir." TC-103 said to himself after the man pointed a finger at him. He wasn't exactly sure if this was a kidnapping or a recruitment, but he was either dead or potentially offered a job. Eyes starting to glow more energized than before, he would have finally been able to do something interesting instead of just wandering around town and standing around in boredom.

Upon one of the nearby rooftops, was Tugoro. He was crouched down, his gaze to the sky as he watched an Imperial Tie Fighter take off from the spaceport. It didn't stop either, advancing towards the atmosphere until it was breached. Well, so much for that mission. Releasing a sigh, the youth would stand to his feet, taking a few steps towards the edge of the rooftop before dropping down towards the ground. The Jedi's booted feet would land with a thud upon the sandy surface, finding himself in an alleyway now.

Just a couple of meters away were two individuals, that seemed to be making a spice transaction upon closer inspection. Taking a step back and lifting his arms up in a defensive matter, Tugoro would show that he wanted nothing to do with this, as he slowly backed away out of the alley. The two men ahead had almost scrambled for their weaponry, but thought better of it as the 'boy' left. He probably wasn't even worth their time, at least from the looks of him. Tugoro had learned an important lesson over the years, that being to not go out in public wearing your Jedi attire.

The Knight was currently donning his spacer attire, which consisted of beige pants, a light brown under shirt, and a pair of brown leather boots along with a jacket of the same material. Anyone would mistake him for a simple rookie smuggler or something of that sort, though the lightsaber within his inside jacket pocket said otherwise. The young man would make a mental note to stop dropping down randomly from roofs, as he made his way through the streets of Mos Eisley.

Tatooine was one of the planets that he frequented the most, the other being Nar Shaddaa. Both under Techno Union jurisdiction, coincidentally. He had managed to serve justice on both planets for two years now, remaining elusive as he caused what others would call trouble. Casually walking, Tugoro would notice many soldiers stationed in the area, most focused on the infamous cantina. Was that a small squad stepping in just now? Through the force, Tugoro would suddenly sense something out of place, that being [member="Elizabeth Verdan"].

Not many light sided individuals hung around these parts. After a moment or two had passed, the young man would arrive at the cantinas entrance, stepping through the doorway and into the large oval shaped room. There were a few people of noteworthiness that Tugoro noticed immediately, specifically [member="Freanne"] and her guards. [member="Gavin XIII"] wasn't someone he remembered, though Tugoro felt as if he should recognize the man. Then, there was [member='TC-103']. With his sharp eyesight, the Jedi would make out the gist of the advertisement that had been posted, before walking over to it and examining it. He wasn't really interested, seeing as he had an inherent distaste for droids. Either way he would make himself look busy, standing there quite idly.

Seeing the man as he walked into the cantina gave a strange vibe to TC-103. Being a part of a Hutt cartel had given him opportunity to start up a bit of a database on Tattoine residents, whether there's much detail about them or not. As he scanned his databases, he found someone who had a profile similar to the man that walked in. The name was listed as unidentified, which wasn't unusual since he mostly just stored data about the various people than take the time asking for their names. The data however, had a small amount of data, with various cases of vigilance on Tattoine. He thought that he noticed something regarding the old cartel he was created in, but decided to pass over it as the past was a hard thing to think about. However, that seemed to be the only thing recorded in his databases by both him and his engineer.

Even looking at the clothing of him seemed a bit more organized than some thugs, who had just worn rags stitched together than normal clothing. TC-103 rotated his attention between the Jedi Felacatian and the Mercenary as they had a conversation and the new man who had just walked in as he appeared to be scanning the horizon. Finally settling on the conversation in front of him, he felt good knowing that there was actually a casual conversation going on that wasn't even about gang wars or any sort of deal.

Eights burst through the doors of the cantina, fuming with fury. He stepped over the corpse of the bartender and sat down, waiting for some service so he could take a karking break from this karking desert planet full of karking sand. Eights didn't like sand. It was coarse and rough and irritating and it got everywhere. Eights pounded on the bar for service, then realized he'd just stepped over the dead bartender. Oh well. At least he could listen to some music. The ambience was always great here.

Suddenly, Eights's scanner picked up a flurry of movement across the room. A tall blonde man whose fashion sense seemed to scream "I'm cooler than you" had a confused looking droid in one hand and a sleepy Felacatian in the other. He looked too confident for the situation. Clearly a merc, then. And a fairly successful one at that.

Eights put a hand up to catch the droid's eye. It wasn't often he saw one of his kind, especially in a joint like this. The droid looked fairly bewildered, clearly new to the scene. Naive little bot. Advertising somewhere like here was a perfect opportunity to be taken advantage of.

Once he had the droid's attention, he shot a rapidfire string of binary at it, fast enough that no non-droid in the area would be able to understand or translate it.

Translation: "You alright, kid? This guy bothering you?"

Though a fight wouldn't be ideal, droids like him should stick up for their own kind.

Feeling both flustered and a bit happy that another droid had actually showed up in the cantina. He hadn't seen another droid ever since many towns over and that had only been a astromech droid, traveling with a pilot by the looks of him. Surprisingly, the droid had walked directly over to him, even glaring a bit at the Mercenary. As the droid talked to him in binary, TC-103 was able to understand and translate it back to Basic. It had actually taken a few seconds for TC-103 to think about it, he responded firmly.

"Good evening. Whereas the circumstance was a bit of an unorthodox way to claim someone, it isn't much of a problem right now. I live to serve after all."

While he wasn't completely sure if he'd prefer being with the Mercenary or not, it was a nice turn of events to actually be part of a group, even if it may have been temporary. TC-103 stood with his statement as he had waited for he next course of events to happen and if the droid would believe him or not.

Eights whirred in disapproval. Though an autosearch of his design and serial number determined this droid was over 38 years since activation, and he was still this naive. If that droid was lucky, he would become a glorified slave until his cores ran down from excessive work. If he was unlucky, that droid was just red scrap. Mercs didn't have a reputation for respecting droid rights. Eights ran a comparative background check, reviewed the default AI, and constructed simulations and analyses to try and determine the droid's motivations.

He was lonely. Of course. When the check determined that he was part of a Huttese cartel, it made perfect sense that this droid would be seeking power. This was was just a lonely droid way out of his depth. Eights shot another stream of binary.

Translation: "This guy is clearly a merc. You have no defenses; I'd advise you not to go on without protection." Eights sent two arcs of electricity across his wrists. "It is very ill advised to continue with this man, but if you must I will accompany you. I have a bit of experience with mercs, and I don't want you to get hurt."

Hopefully the droid would trust him. He didn't want his inaction to result in the death of another of his kind.

On another note, what was up with that cat lady?

TC-103 was surprised by the offer of the droid, even more at the words that he said about the mercenary he had been with for a bit. Still, the man did steal him in a way, even if he wasn't directly threatened. Even so, the droid had a look of a mercenary himself. But still, another droid who seems to show consideration to you in the minute you meet him probably couldn't cause much harm to you and would be a good sort. There was still something that concerned him about going with the droid, though.

"I would be glad to accompany you, sir. However, the mercenary releasing me into your custody would be a great thing, but it doesn't seem likely from the data that I have collected on him."

Joining a stranger you just met wasn't usually a smart thing to do, but there weren't many other options apparent. Of course, it would be good to be able to get out into the sunlight after standing inside of a cantina for the past few hours.

Everything was going fine so far, no major outbursts or otherwise sudden violent events taking place. Then again, [member="NG-888 (Eights)"] had entered the cantina, approaching the group at the bar counter with what appeared to be purpose. The young Jedi had been listening in on most things that had been said thus far, his ability of Enhance Attribute allowing him to increase his sense of hearing. Did [member="Gavin XIII"] say he was going to have that woman for lunch? No, he couldn't mean... Could he? Tugoro would glance over his shoulder towards the group that seemed to be growing, his eyes locked onto [member="Elizabeth Verdan"] as he feared for her life.

The young man had met a lot of disgusting people in his adventures, cannibals included. Striding over to the counter with a confident walk, Tugoro would look each of the individuals present in the eyes, before looking to the alleged cannibal who intended to devour the drunken woman. Wait, was this woman the light sided presence he had felt earlier? "I can't allow you to do that, sir." Tugoro spoke, crossing his arms over his torso. Whether they thought Tugoro was referring to the earlier remark or the stealing of the droid, was completely up to them.

Gavin was a little bit busy petting the sleepy woman as she seemed to be intent on drooling on his shoulder. He tried listening to the two droids, but the fast-paced beeping of binary was far beyond him. The slower-paced annoyance of the kid who'd just walked up was not beyond him. He raised an eyebrow at the guy.

"You, um... can't allow me to get the lady some lunch? Or take the droid? I'm assuming neither of them are yours."

The kitty was indeed quite focused on drooling on his shoulder and in general not doing much of practical use but, afterall, thats what kitties were best at. Her sleepy eyes slowly blinked open as a new figure approached, and caused an interruption in the sleep/pet continum. A long shuddering yawn would take lizzy as she stretched and slowly looked up "I claw...." She murrmurred in simple warning to those that dared to disturbed the holiest of cycles

Gavin looked at the yawning cat lady, not even registering the other people around him anymore. Time to pet the kitty more. Especially since everyone else seemed to be having their own discussions. He scratched one of her ears, grinning at her again.

"You did want lunch, right?"

He turned a slightly annoyed stare on the two droids, mentally willing them both to shut up and bring him and the kitty somewhere to eat. It didn't seem to work.

[member="Elizabeth Verdan"] [member="Tugoro Taidarious"] [member="TC-103"] [member="NG-888 (Eights)"]

Tugoro hesitated for a brief moment, his mouth agape as he thought of something to say. "Of course I'm talking about the droid," the young man spoke jokingly to [member="Gavin XIII"], taking a step back and slinging his arm in a friendly manner around [member="TC-103"]'s shoulder. The Jedi's arm would also sling around [member="NG-888 (Eights)"]'s shoulder just in case, for he was not sure who exactly was involved here.

Eights didn't look like the usual droid, though it still appeared like he had came over here for a purpose. Perhaps to free his fellow droid? Nah, no way. "How about it?" He asked the protocol droid, not really caring whether or not he agreed. It would be nice to have a protocol droid around the Enclave, but also potentially dangerous. Who knew where this droid had been, or who it belonged to.

[member="Tugoro Taidarious"] [member="Gavin XIII"] [member="NG-888 (Eights)"] [member="Elizabeth Verdan"]

TC-103 felt a bit of conflict arising around him, and the arm around him didn't make him feel much better. He wasn't sure whether to feel protected by the man or just being played with, when he could have been up to no good. However, a glance at the man said otherwise. The man's extended arm made it possible to see inside of his jacket, where a hilt to a lightsaber was revealed to be. The attire of him gave no indications of being a Sith, nor did his attitude. When the Jedi asked the question, "How about it", TC-103 wasn't exactly sure what he was referring to.

"Yes, I would have to agree with you, sir. He hadn't injured me yet, but from the what the droid had told me, mercenaries usually aren't very fond of droids."

With every advancement in the conversation, he did see himself differing views with the mercenary. However, he could tell that he was a good man and that he doesn't seem like the type that would treat a droid like a slave.
