BIOGRAPHY:
Zhan grew up on Charubah, a strategic, high-tech, industrial world in the Rifle Worlds region of the Hapes Consortium. Born to now-Ducha Anastasia Zhan V (HRN Colonel, Ret.) and her consort, Dukat Erion Lyn-Zhan on 14th 10, C.Y 4825 (795 ABY), Zhan was the firstborn of a set of identical twin girls making her the legal heiress of House Zhan. At age eight, Zhan was enrolled at Saint Clavelle's Academy of Military Science where she received her primary, secondary, and post secondary education in addition to her military training. She holds a degree in organizational management as well as a diploma from the prestigious naval academy and still visits in person to give motivational speeches and coordinates graduate recruiting for her fleet.
By age twelve, there was an attack on Charubah via orbital bombardment of the capital city of Esthar, an enormous metroplex that takes up about two thirds of the moderately sized continent of Eruse; an event colloquially known by the Charubahni as "the Blitz". Zhan survived the Blitz, having saved about half of her squad of classmates when part of the Naval Academy's grounds were bombed from orbit with the assistance of a small group of Cyborg Warriors and Marines sent to help evacuate the cadets. Zhan would later become a candidate for pilot training and took her first flight at sixteen. She was given command of the Royal Navy's Seventh Fleet spearheaded by the HMNS Apollyon, a slightly larger than average Battle Dragon fitted for command functions in addition to direct assault. It should be noted that Zhan stands out from other Hapan Royal Navy command staff in the frequency in which she takes a personal role in space, air, sea, and ground assaults.

House Zhan co-owns the Royal Armaments Guild of Charubah with the Royal House itself and is one of two majority shareholding families of Olanji/Charubah, which puts the Charubah System and House Zhan in the realm of important strategic assets to the Hapan Royal Navy. Relina herself is believed to be a preferred shareholder in both companies.
Research into the history of House Zhan suggests that the family's matrilineal progenitor was an ancient Jedi exile known as Clavelle Zhan. It is unknown where Clavelle Zhan was born due to the loss of many of the Jedi's records after the Purge in 19 BBY. All that is known now is that the woman existed circa 4060 BBY (BCY 30) during the Old Republic era, had been a Jedi Consular and duelist, and was exiled by the Old Jedi Order. It is unknown why she was exiled and her exact date of birth is also unknown. It is believed she was at least Jedi Knight rank, but unknown if she had ever attained the rank of Master or if she had ever trained an apprentice. In the era Clavelle Zhan lived, the Lorell Raiders were a menace that had caught the attention of both the Republic and the Jedi order, ultimately resulting in their intervention in the Hapes Cluster.
Clavelle Zhan resurfaced from her exile at this time and appeared in Hapan historical records by the end of the Lorellian Period. After the establishment of the Hapes Consortium, the exile was rewarded with the option to serve out her exile among the newly established Hapan people. She settled on Charubah, a frontier world that was sparsely populated at the time, and helped establish the City of Esthar in CY 15. She passed away in CY 62 at the age of 92, posthumously becoming the honorary first Ducha of Charubah, though her firstborn daughter had officially held the title. She is now venerated as a saint of the minority Trinitarian Wayist faith, to which House Zhan is known to adhere and her name is known everywhere on Charubah as Esthar's patron saint.
Being descended from an ancient Jedi, the children of House Zhan have always been Force Sensitive and the girls, in particular, are said to still bear a resemblance to Clavelle Zhan to varying degrees. Relina and Alessandra Zhan are no exceptions. Relina herself is religious and views most things that have to do with the Force through the lens of her faith, as opposed to the way her ancestress would have as a Jedi, which she seems to be largely ignorant of due to the Hapes Consortium's anti-Jedi cultural biases historically, despite significant lessening of these sentiments in the intervening centuries. Force Sensitivity and its effects on intuition, reflexes, and foresight are viewed as the "Divine" speaking to their elect. Relina's formal residence is the Palace of Saint Clavelle in Esthar's A-North sector, though she also owns a large private villa on Angel Isle located about 5 kilometres south of Esthar's C-South sector, a spacious condominium in Ta'a Chume'Dan on Hapes Prime, and a recently obtained condominium on Taris. Almost all post is forwarded to either residence from the Palace of Saint Clavelle, which is convenient for her, saving her the trouble of informing the Hapan postal service of where she is come daily mail time as well as providing a layer of security, since mail entering the Palace of Saint Clavelle is scanned and thoroughly investigated for any potential threats to House Zhan. Relina spends more home life time in her private residences than in the Palace of Saint Clavelle, though, in what appears to be a desire for some semblance of independent living, which is not something Nobles are known to often have the luxury of. Zhan has been sighted doing her own grocery shopping on Hapes, frequenting both her local base commissary as well as civilian grocery chain "Aurelia's".
While her medical records are classified and were unable to be accessed during investigation, it is known that she is severely lactose intolerant and all of the dairy she consumes is non-lactose substituted. It is also known she is highly allergic to cilona, a narcotic used in a certain class of painkiller as well as in the street drug known as death-sticks; exposure causes a potentially lethal anaphylactic reaction. It is known that she has flatlined twice in the line of duty, but was resuscitated seemingly spontaneously each time, defying medical explanations.
She seems to have a taste for seafood, however and does not seem to keep Human staff at her private residences often, favouring a droid or two instead. Recreational time for her is limited, but she spends much of it fencing for sport, using the gun range, and flying for the sake of it either in her Anura airspeeder or her modified Miy'til Terminus. She is now venerated as a saint of the minority Trinitarian Wayist faith, to which House Zhan is known to adhere and her name is known everywhere on Charubah as Esthar's patron saint.
Being descended from an ancient Jedi, the children of House Zhan have always been Force Sensitive and the girls, in particular, are said to still bear a resemblance to Clavelle Zhan to varying degrees. Relina and Alessandra Zhan are no exceptions. Relina herself is religious and views most things that have to do with the Force through the lens of her faith, as opposed to the way her ancestress would have as a Jedi, which she seems to be largely ignorant of due to the Hapes Consortium's anti-Jedi cultural biases historically, despite significant lessening of these sentiments in the intervening centuries. Force Sensitivity and its effects on intuition, reflexes, and foresight are viewed as the "Divine" speaking to their elect. Zhan communicates regularly with her priestess, a former Hapan Intelligence operative and assassin by the name of Mother De'dre Skye, though Zhan doesn't go to Mass as often as the rest of her family does due to her Military position frequently keeping her away from home.
Relina's formal residence is the Palace of Saint Clavelle in Esthar's A-North sector, though she also owns a large private villa on Angel Isle located about 5 kilometres south of Esthar's C-South sector, a spacious condominium in Ta'a Chume'Dan on Hapes Prime, and a recently obtained condominium on Taris. Almost all post is forwarded to either residence from the Palace of Saint Clavelle, which is convenient for her, saving her the trouble of informing the Hapan postal service of where she is come daily mail time as well as providing a layer of security, since mail entering the Palace of Saint Clavelle is scanned and thoroughly investigated for any potential threats to House Zhan. Relina spends more home life time in her private residences than in the Palace of Saint Clavelle, though, in what appears to be a desire for some semblance of independent living, which is not something Nobles are known to often have the luxury of. Zhan has been sighted doing her own grocery shopping on Hapes, frequenting both her local base commissary as well as civilian grocery chain "Aurelia's".
While her medical records are classified and were unable to be accessed during investigation, it is known that she is severely lactose intolerant and all of the dairy she consumes is non-lactose substituted. It is also known she is highly allergic to cilona, a narcotic used in a certain class of painkiller as well as in the street drug known as death-sticks; exposure causes a potentially lethal anaphylactic reaction. It is known that she has flatlined twice in the line of duty, but was resuscitated seemingly spontaneously each time, defying medical explanations.
She seems to have a taste for seafood, however and does not seem to keep Human staff at her private residences often, favouring a droid or two instead. She rarely drinks to the point of intoxication, but does drink wines, meads, and cocktails on occasion when off duty. She is accustomed to Charubah's 30-hour day and her sleep cycle follows these rhythms, sleeping for a minimum of nine hours each day, though she and others accustomed to a similar day length are recommended to sleep for ten hours on average. She is capable of and willing to operate for a longer amount of time each day as a result.
Recreational time for her is limited, but she spends much of it fencing for sport, using the gun range, and flying for the sake of it either in her Anura airspeeder or her modified Miy'til Terminus. She occasionally goes shopping, much like any other woman, and for many of the same things, although she tends to have expensive taste in luxury goods, especially perfume. She wears little in the way of cosmetics most of the time and wears little jewelry unless it is for a special occasion, although she almost always wears her dogtags. The main use of her holovid is to watch the local and national news and, occasionally, a holodrama, a preferentially sarcastic and dry variety of comedy program, occasional sports viewing (She is a fan of the Esthar Angels water-soccer team), or music streams. She seems to prefer synthwave, progressive and alternative rock, and trance genres of music, both religiously slanted or secular. She also appears to have a taste for traditional Charubahni folk music, particularly involving bagpipes and sax as well as modern music incorporating the instruments.
As a hobby, she collects firearms from antique to modern, as well. Her impressive collection contains both blaster and slugthrower varieties in addition to a modest selection of swords and knives as well as at least one trophy lightsabre from the Sith she killed on Star Home. While she effectively owns an arsenal of such weapons, Zhan tends to prefer a modern repeating blaster pistol issued to Navy pilots. It is rumoured, but not confirmed, that she also owns a rare Gun of Command in her collection, as well.
As of recently, Relina Zhan has succeeded her mother as Ducha of Charubah, although Alessandra officially handles the political aspects of the office. Relina Zhan only has the Ducha title because she was born five minutes before her sister, but being that she is a military leader and is still in full active service, she has delegated day-to-day political matters to her twin sister. Major political matters are discussed together, although Alessandra executed the mutual decision.

Zhan flies a personalized Miy'til Int/T Terminus called Seraph. It is armed with two missile launchers (up to 6 concussion missiles, proton torpedoes, Ion torpedoes, or Ground attack missiles each), one triple-link laser cannon, and two Ion cannons.
