Dude, my ship!

"We're not the only ones in the valley. Someone is watching us." Gherron looked over at [member="Lok Jorunn"] with interest. Surprisingly he had only just begun to notice it, but he now sensed something within the valkyri. He was strong in the force. Answering the man's second question, he replied "Actually, I was on a mission for the Republic. I've been skipping from planet to planet until I found this one. I wasn't even planning on landing once I found out how desolate it was. Then my engines failed, and here I am, talking to you."

He shrugged at the boy, adjusting his shoulder strap. "I didn't know if anyone was watching us, but I can feel something. It's probably nothing." He admitted. Wild animals were aplenty on Midvinter. Hares, foxes, wolves, even a few Wampas out in the far reaches. Though the Wampas were the least of your worries, especially when Hrothwurms were in the area. A twinge of anger exploded in his heart at the memories of his mother and father being torn apart right before his eyes.

The pair were beginning to near the Far North, but the sun had began to set as well. They'd be within the city walls within at hour at the least.

Gherron nodded, not surprised at the answer. It was usual for one who didn't know about the force, to simply write it off. Lok had no idea what he was likely capable of. Perhaps, Gherron would be able to train the man, or at least tell him about his potential. It was always a possibility. "So tell me... Lok. Are the valkyri any different from humans? I mean, beyond the physical level. Know what I mean?"

Lok opened his mouth to answer, but shut it, tossing the question around in his mouth to formalize an answer. He didn't really know how to answer on terms of that nature. All Valkyri were hardy and strong men and women. They took pride in battle, honor, and glory. Given their nature of being fearless and fearsome in battle, they happened to be a peaceful people unless provoked or the annual internal conflict arose: the ascension of a new High King. "I'm not sure what you mean by that, but the Valkyri are a sturdy and peaceful people. Peaceful unless you're on our bad side."

Gherron nodded with a small laugh. "Yes then, very different from humans. We are, i'm sorry to say, quicker to act upon grudges. We throw the first punch, and then we wonder why we are frowned upon." He realized what he'd said then, and quickly rushed to counter it. "Um however, however that's not all of us. In fact, i'd be more scared of the bureaucrats and politicians that I would be of the common low-level thugs. If you ever make it to Coruscant, you'll understand why."
