Skirmish Eclipse | Jedi vs. Sith

He disliked this part of him, as it erupted outwards, as it lashed out around him. He hadn't wanted to and it felt so disappointing for it to surface again. The anger was back to the surface, now, and he had to find a way to get it down. The runes were active now, truly active, burning his skin, as the dark forced its way to the surface, tendrils attempting to grasp at him like a sarlaac's tentacles. He took deep breath, after deep breath. Trying to calm his heart. He knew that she'd have an opening, and he'd have to focus on avoiding strikes, if he wanted to have any chance of reclaiming his calm.

She'd been sent flying with the burt of power he'd released, and she crashed into a trooper much harder than she probably was hoping for. He'd winced, though through the fighting, he couldn't deny the rush that he was feeling, the elation of having launched her, of having that power over her. But he knew that he would have to stop this or he could slip further.

As he tried, as his heartrate slowed again... Suddenly she screamed a horrible, terrible sound that set his teeth on edge and rang in his ears. Another scream to add to those that rattled in his head, perhaps. Or perhaps not.

Then, as soon as it had begun, it ended and as he looked to her, he could see a horrified look on her face, fear crippling her, for a moment and he saw the water trickling down her hands. He froze. She would die... Then she suddenly turned and started to run. No! If she ran, she... she would use up the rest of her oxygen... and... And she would die!! The fear lanced up and through him. He forced himself to focus, stumbling towards the door before firing several stun rounds at her. He would make sure she survived. He didn't care what she'd done, she needed to live.

Astrid stood there healing her eye sensing Nathan's mind his pain. His mental instability his rage at her scream she broke him both literally and mentally which made her smile to a degree she sensed syd touch his mind the woman who killed his wife and corrupted his daughter she could work with that. More twisted smile formed on her face as Nathan teleported. Astrid could sense his rage and madness from a planet away as he tried to swing on her to brake her spine she pivoted meeting his gaze her eye still had a hole in it as she delivered a blow to Nathan's chest. Capable of breaking his ribcage and stopping his heart as both her and nathan teleported off world.

The dry brittle climate of the desert claimed the moisture that trickle from the cracks of her suit. What was so vital to her survival was now running dry. She ran searching for her Master, trying to reach out to him through the force desperately yet she could not find his signature in the midst of the chaos enveloping around.

The shots were heard before they were seen. She turned around to defect, but in her state of mind, her accuracy was very off. Only flicking away two while the rest struck her, sending bolts of electricity throughout her body and causing her to fall to the ground as her muscles tensed painfully. Falentra reached for the shikaar blade in sheer desperation, and in a skillful flick of her wrist, sent it flying Raphael Gallustrade Raphael Gallustrade 's way.

Falentra would try to get up, but was too disorientated, feeling uneasy, her heart now racing and head spinning and the lack of oxygen in her system was starting to take its toll. A battle lost. She was going to die. For the last time, she reached out through the force, trying to call her master. << Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr , help me. Please. Where are you?>> The master who she trusted to be there for her, was now lost.

As her consciousness began to fade, she was now at the mercy of Raphael, and perhaps needed his light more than ever.

He did little to react when she batted away his blade, for all his training which told him to act, that when life and death oscillated in a steady rhythm, that when his enemy was so far gone, that his own existence was at gravest threat, he should act to end this standoff. Yet... when had Cora ever been his enemy?

They had been there together so long ago on Exegol.

He had saved her life on Thule.

Warned her of the impending attack by the Mor... the... Mandalorians.

His memory might have been hazy, and for reasons he could not understand, to attempt to access back to what had once been, of all they had been as family, drawing concerning blanks, he knew, he knew that from the bottom of his heart, that all could be saved... so why not too his cousin?

Blue eyes narrowed as she levelled accusation his way, "What is wrong with me? You stand there, and ask me that, when you are wielding that lightsabre?!" He thundered back, his grip ever firm upon his own, the one which he had... built?

He shook his head, blinking out the glassiness, the tears from before... breathing in softly, he had to keep to himself steady, no matter if this was Cora, he could not underestimate her, especially now, when any mistake could cost both of them, he had to trust in the Force.

The next batch of her words did not provide him any more confidence, as he glared at the red sheen of the sabre she wielded, yet. The next words.

It was enough to punch the air out of his lungs.

...How could she...? After all...

He let out a hiss, as he closed his eyes shut, instinctively taking a step back, as pain broke across his mind, a voice familiar, a voice unfamiliar, calling his name, providing him title that was not his, providing him title that was... his? A call for help.

When had he ever ignored one of those?

He let out a further hiss, as he took another step back, opening his eyes, his pupils shaking, as blue eyes began to shimmer, began to change, flashing between red and blue, as he withdrew further, and further back. Memories filled his mind, memories of another life, memories of a true life, his breath was heavy, his lightsabre deactivating, as by instinct, the Sith Sword left clattering on the ground was pulled into his hands, as everything felt wrong.

As if he had lived an entire lie.

As Corazona von Ascania's final command triggered the end.

"I will save you." He whispered, blue and red eyes staring directly towards the Jedi Knight...

...He was not sure who he was promising.

He did not know what he was promising.

In the blink of an eye, he was gone.
