STRENGTHS:
Pit-Droid Strength – Like an ant, pit-droids are able to carry objects many times their own weight; while this doesn’t transfer directly to combat prowess, ECM is able to use his strength to overpower an opponent
Loyalty – As with many other droids, ECM feels a compelling loyalty towards whomever he calls master, and will go to the ends of the world in their service.
AND WEAKNESSES:
Droid – Being a droid, ECM-42 is very vulnerable to EMP and other electrical-type effects.
DUM-series – The aptly named pit droids aren’t known for their clever or wit, and without proper direction, can easily be outsmarted or maneuvered.
APPEARANCE:
ECM-42 looks like your average DUM-series pit droid, except he sports a stark bone-white metal. His right arm is equipped with an extendable fusion cutter, while his left has a similarly built-in welder torch. He can equip larger fuel tanks for either on his back for extended use. While pretty standard-built, ECM does have an additional photoreceptor offset of his main one, as well as a flashlight as well.
BIOGRAPHY:
Being a droid, ECM-42 is fairly straight-forward; he’s an honest one, who values the acceptance of those around him over virtually anything else. He enjoys being helpful and loves to communicate with people…though he can tend to be a bit chatty.
Lacking much personal struggles, the closest ECM has is a sense of longing for something bigger than himself. While being a pit droid is what he is, he cannot help but feel that his programming is ill-suited for the body he was given.
ECM also enjoys collecting droid parts, some of which he grafts onto himself, such as a photoreceptor of a protocol droid, that he's installed on himself offset of his main 'eye'. He feels that the extra ‘perspective’ helps him understand beings better, thought he misinterprets what the idea of a second perspective actually is; metaphors in general go over his programming.
Like most droids, ECM’s programming is what mostly compels him, though he has a deep sense of consciousness that makes him long for other things as well, such as a bigger purpose. ECM tends to go over and above his programming in order to please whoever he is following at the time.
ECM is happily looking forward to his new position as camera man and photographer for Galactic News Network!
