Educate Thyself (Mandalorian Empire Dominion of Obroa-Skai Hex AA24)

She really wanted to touch it to feel the binding and finger through the pages as much as the desire to touch it grew she wanted to know the names in the book and how it connected to her visitor.

She droid did not seem to notice that Leilani was staring hard at the symbol. That symbol it looked like a bird of some kind how many families in the core had a bird as part of their sigil. She growled low for a moment as she considered possibilities.

It was decided, she needed the book not for the visitor but for herself then the visitor could have it.

Now she began to look around, "The room is well protected" she hoped for information.

"it is." Droid said without elaboration part of the programming she imagined do not tell anything about security.

"Is there ever a time that the book is removed from the case, say so that someone can look at it?" She smiled trying to look inquisitive which she was but it was a recent development.

"An appointment could be made with the curator."

OH, "curator? I thought this was a library." ooo something she was going to learn.

"The book is both an artifact and a book the curator is responsible for it"

Is he now....well well...was it a he?

hmmm..."Do you have the name?" It didn't matter if it was male or female she..could....entice either.

There were footsteps above them, "is it closing time?"

@kista bralor

[SIZE=9pt]There were many narrow paths. Some long and some twisted and turned. The inner building was a massive maze. It would be easy for someone to get lost. To track someone down in its endless corridors almost felt like impossibility to Kista. Luckily it was not as if her prey was hiding or covering her tracks.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]Finding her way out might prove a little more difficult. For now Kista was a row over and listened to the conversation between the Zeltronian and the droid. The conversation sounded a little innocent.[/SIZE]

[SIZE=9pt]Kista to heard the footsteps above them. She heard the Zeltraion’s question. She had a strong hunch it was not closing time. There was something else going on. Her gut was telling her such. Was Kista drawn to the Zeltraoin because she was in danger? Could her quest for this book brought her unwanted risk? [/SIZE]

Beth gave a smile and a small clap. She was excited! She had never done any type of paintball before and was excited to finally be able to do it. Beth grabbed one of the paintball guns and examined it. Just like any other gun, should be easy enough.

Beth smiled [member="Yasha Mantis"] put a coat over her. She nestled into it, "Thanks, mom." She gave an even bigger smile at her mother's words.

"Let's do this!" She said with a big smile as she loaded a couple shades of blue into her paintball gun. Even Beth wasn't paying attention to Adara - her mind focused on paintball, shooting, and just having fun.

Beth gave a huge grin to [member="Shia Kryze"] and started firing onto the wall with glee, shooting the blue paint all over the side of the building. "This is... A lot more fun than I was expecting!"

"Speaking of the Cosmic Modem, Hetzel" Voice of Striker announced her, after Petria announced the feasibility level of the concert. "I would like to invite you to the concert; looks like my girlfriend has a make-up exam scheduled at the same time as the concert so I'm now asking whether you would like to attend or not"

"We never get concerts like these on Oorn Tchis; country music is more our thing on Oorn Tchis, so yeah, I'll go, and I'll get you a first-row ticket for the Bloodless Coup as part of HoldoWare's contractual engagements to sponsor it; then again, Kotkaniemi and FX Guy will also get one ticket each"

Although, of course, she doesn't have an actual Oorn Tchis accent, Petria couldn't pass up a free concert ticket, especially not when HoldoWare is, in fact, sponsoring a new concert in 18 days' time. Phew, just in the nick of time to go to said concert, she thought, while wearing her black hat and, of course, her black T-shirt and jeans, showing just how slim she really is, realizing that the locale housed 25,000 people on an outdoor stage, while, in fact, all of those were standing tickets. There were no actual seats at the concert, which carried implications for printing tickets if Kotkaniemi thought the Bloodless Coup could fill the same outdoor facility. Potential preliminary acts would likely include indie music bands. Now, was Voice of Striker simply interested in her because of her commercial status? Because he saw in her a potential sugar mummy? Or was there another reason why Voice of Striker was interested in her? Petria didn't understand males that well, beyond a strictly professional or commercial relationship; she seems to feel more and more uncomfortable as they advanced through the waiting lines for the concert.

"Although you're not as pretty as Beauchamp or Med-Beq..."

"Hold it right there: you're making me uncomfortable to compare me to those galaxy-famous geniuses! I might be the youngest in Oorn Tchis history to take a company to the point where it becomes publicly-traded, but we're not talking about the same sort of achievement" she retorted, almost as if vomiting.

"You're still a genius, and a physically natural one at that"

As [member="Adara Raxis"] fell he caught her and helped her up and noticed the bloody nostril as she asked if he could help her hunger without hesitation he walked over to the center and with motions of his hands he used alter environment to make a small cauldron and started pouring several vials into it and the contents started to glow a dark purple color that lit the cave he started muttering in ancient Anubian as he started his work immediately, When he was done pouring he without any hesitation in his step gave a small prick to adaras arm and Let his bleed for a little bit till it filled the bottom part of one of the vials before he healed the wound and went back to the cauldron. When he poured in her blood a puff of smoke formed from it as a bright flash of light emitted from it for a second before the colors settled into a glowing Cyan color, He dipped a empty vial into it filling the vial with the liquid before walking over to her and presented it to her carefully before he spoke.

Drink from this and your hunger will be satisfied forever...I may not be able to make your hunger go away forever but i have a way to make it so you dont need to eat so much while giving you something to feed you a small amount and that should be more then enough to stave off the hunger. If you wish I could train you to learn some of my tricks to better defend yourself and your parents but only if you want to.

Sloobieboo refused to let Adara fall to the ground, setting her up instead as he got to work. Swaying a little, Adara plunked down to sit on the ground, curling up with her chin on her hands.

She watched the purple light, feeling the energies swirling around the cave as a child watching fireflies on a Felucian lake. When [member="Skorvek"] pricked her arm, Adara cried out, “SLOOBIE! OOWW! Owie Owie Owie!”

The girl sniffled and grabbed at her arm, seeing her own blood and staring wide-eyed up at the majestic, but bewildering creature. She shuffled to the edge of the cave, clinging to her arm and crying in timid blubbers. “Owie, bad Sloobieboo. Bad!”

Gasping as the flash of light took the space, Adara curled up with her knees to her chest, lip wobbling as she peered up into his eyes. He promised to fill her rumbly tumbly?

With blue juice?

Adara liked blue milk, did blue juice taste like blue milk? Rubbing her eyes with the back of her arm, Adara reached for the vial and sniffed it. “Is it irli flavoured? I like irli.”

Tipping the drink back, Adara sucked it all up and nearly spat it straight out. “Eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww! It tastes like sad!”

Coughing a little, but keeping it down, Adara sniffled as a curious change occurred. Her rumbly tumbly didn’t rumbly anymore!

She felt full, as full as she wanted to be, but didn’t know how to want it. All in, the girl felt better. “My dwess got diwty.”

Picking herself up, Adara brushed off and raised both arms for Skorvek to pick her up. “Are the tricks like the ouchie or are they like what Befthy learns from Ba’buir [member="Gray Raxis"]? Upsies. You owe me upsies for ouchie-ing my arm.”

Lilik stood at rigid attention, everything about her sharp lines and frayed nerves. In fact, she might have hummed like a bowstring pulled taut, had she not had a weapon to fiddle with. Her right thumb was the only part of her that moved, endlessly rubbing the side of her paintball gun. Well, her thumb, and her vibrant orange eyes. They were wide as her gaze bounced between the women who surrounded her. These were women she admired and respected. Some were even among her best friends, and individuals she would go so far as to say she would trust with her life. And still, she was horribly miserable, in very much doubting the ethics of [member="Yasha Mantis"].

The woman knew war - she had been raised in it, trained for it, and she considered it one of her great purposes. But, of course, this was referring to real war. Not paintball war. Not afternoons spent chasing each other in some sort of wonky celebratory game. There was war, and there was training for war. This fell into some strange in-between. And Lilik struggled with all shades of gray.

But she respected Yasha far too much to speak ill of the plan. So instead, she had remained quiet during the limo ride, content to simply watch out the window and brainstorm ways to get out of playing. When they had arrived, she had embarked, and loaded her paintball gun with the sharp, habitual motions of a well-trained soldier. And now, she waited.

10PHA4o.png

Cynthia climbed out the limo with the rest. The air was bitter and cold making her exposed areas skin get goosebumps. "Karking nether its cold. FETH." she said now really wishing she had her armor even more. It wasn't exactly perfect for the cold but that layer would at least keep some of the cold out. Cynthia herself picked up the pink and loaded the balls into the hopper. After Beth's first shot she'd smile. "Well time for the rest of us." Her face had a menacing look to it. There was absolutely no aiming as the trigger was squeezed repeatedly. "All we need now is some kind of moving targets!" her voice became louder from excitement. Each round began to form a shape that slowly resembled that of the horns of Solus. Although that was the official name for her clans symbol it also had a second name one that meant a lot and was able to be seen after a different perspective.

As she fired away she couldn't help but think about the few who she had adopted into her clan and wished they was here. Although they was in different areas and was unable to attend. Instead they kept up their search for a good location for an official camp. Although a camp would only be the start. Cynthia had a vision, a vision to someday have their camp become a village. Even if it was a small one it would be a place where her clan could grow and thrive.

"Today's concert comprises one preliminary act to the Cosmic Modem, No Vacancy, performing three songs, before the break. Ladies and gentlemen, No Vacancy!"

The question in Petria's mind was whether they had any allowance for No Vacancy getting an encore, knowing that typical concerts of that nature had allowances for encores by both the preliminary act and the main act. Just that a heavy metal concert was a little hard on the ears even when accounting for the fact that Voice of Striker and her weren't even standing anywhere near the front, out of mosh pit range. Plus Voice of Striker was holding his datapad to film the entire concert, capturing every note, every sound made by both the musicians on stage and the audience, which, understandably, caused the datapad to shake a little bit, and even more so when the crowd cheered at the end of each song. Thank the Force that my ears aren't bleeding; if that's a sign of what I had my semi-legitimate company, HoldoWare, sponsoring, I'm wondering what other kinds of music would make ears bleed, and I ought to be sponsoring other concerts in other styles: it's just a question of promoting musical talent across a variety of styles, she thought, while her head was buzzing from the first song of No Vacancy.

He observed how she reacted to the drink he gave her and was pleased with the results her hunger was satisfied for now he chuckled a little at her comment towards her dress and that she wanted picked up at first he didn't understand what she wanted but it clicked in after a few moments, He reached down and picked up [member="Adara Raxis"] and did his best to find what ever was comfortable for her when he held her, He wasn't the best parent but he was going trial and error on this one when she asked about the tricks he did his best to explain it in words she can understand.

It...depends on the trick some of them hurt...some of them don't but imagine what fun things you can do if you learn them but you will need to be careful with them as well.

A few sniffles were the only response [member="Skorvek"] got before Adara nuzzled in under the Anubian’s neck. She was a trusting child, craving of his energies, which fed her in a way her Force Dead parents did not. Could not.

“Why you ouchie Adara, Sloobieboo? Why ouchie?” Skorvek was warm, he held her tense, but gentle and the tiny five year old cuddled in for the comfort a child demanded from an elder or parent.

“Can we ask my Mommy and Baba? They like learning stuff, they learns stuff with Befthy all the time. And Ramie. Ramie isn’t like Befthy and me. He doesn’t have another tumbly. Befthy’s is all sunshiney and happy and bubbles. I wanna learn tricks! I wanna be smart like Befthy. Baba loves Befthy.” Adara cuddled in contentedly, smacking her lips as the Force Energy donated by Skorvek began to work within her, deepening the colour of her skin from the sickly pale, reducing her shiver.

“… I wanna learn tricks and be cool like Befthy… good Sloobie… Adara feewls yummy tumbly inside… good…” Adara yawned, stretching a brief bit, before falling asleep in Skorvek’s arms. Her locator beacon began to beep, a proximity alarm after being geographically distant from members of her family for too long. A little bracelet on her hand, it began to glow a soft pulsing red.

Stardust didnt exactly feel the cold, then again this was a lady who could breath fire...she looked around the place seeing it open as she smiled, she looked at the colors and picked some green up as she loaded it and cocked her gun back as she raised it and took aim as she started firing at the walls

hahahah this is fun! Hey brigh you want to try....brigh?....brigh you ok?

She turned looking around for her daughter, she dropped her gun as she couldnt feel her nearby. She suddenly heard a voice over her comms and put a hand to her ear...it was her daughters...she quickly started running out of the place

BRIGH!

She said as she started running towards where the signal was emitting from , not caring to stop and explain as she ran through the snow quickly...she had to find her daughter...she hoped she was ok...she hoped so. She was half way there already huffing it through the streets and past people

Beth was probably having way too much fun firing at the building. She reloaded her paint and kept going. She continued to do so even as the others finally came in, some of their paint mixing in together. It was surprisingly fun, even though Beth wasn't exactly paying attention to literally anything else. It was really a great stress relief. And the jacket [member="YAsha Mantis"] put on her was absolutely wonderful - cozy and warm!

Beth was shooting galore, probably a little too much. She stopped, reloaded, and without paying attention, began to shoot again. The problem? She ended up shooting a person instead of the wall. She had spun a little too quickly and shot the paint gun a little too soon. Unless she moved right in time, one of the shots landed right in the middle of [member="Lilik Mantis"] right butt cheek. Presuming the paintball hit and exploded on her butt cheek, Beth immediately dropped the gun with a loud gasp.

"Oh my Goddess, I am so sorry!" She squealed, running over to Lilik to make sure she was okay. She rationally knew that the Guralanin would be okay - after all, she was on Death Watch and was clearly a trained warrior. She probably wasn't even that comfortable being out like this, to begin with. "I hope it doesn't hurt too bad, I hear they hurt bad! I'm sooo sorry!" She pleaded to the woman, frowning, her long ears fully deflated. She had been having so much fun and didn't pay attention and actually shot someone!

What if that had been a blaster? Or another type of weapon that could have actually killed her? Beth mentally talked herself into even more guilt as she checked on the woman.

It wasn't until then that [member="Stardust Bloodstone"] began to panic about her daughter. This made one of Beth's deflated ears perk as she began to wonder where [member="Adara Raxis"] had gone. While still feeling terrible about shooting Lilik in the butt, Beth realized that she couldn't see Adara anywhere.

"Mom, do you know where Adara is..?"

Tom had himself, [member="Kaine Australis"] and around 10 other mandalorians that had come with him. He would have to apologies to [member="Mykes Vatak"] later on. Maybe with flowers or something. He didn't know much about this whole romance thing, Mykes was so much better at it than he was. After all living with animals tends to not really give one a sense of how the world is supposed to work. Or at least the way 'Civilised' people did it. He knew war. War was easy everyone including animals made it.

Everything and one makes war. However the intricacies of the difference between a karking soup spoon and a desert spoon was beyond him. So it was Tom, Kaine and 10 of the 'good old boys' or at least that was what they called themselves. Tom simply saw them as 10 people who would be good in a fight. So it was when they finally meet the thirty odd security forces.

RexyDiv.png

The forces of obroa skai

They were all kitted out and watching the drunken people floating around here or there. The leader of the group was seriously disappointed with the 30 people they had managed to gather. They looked more like a neighbourhood watch more than a military force. They were going up against mandos, people who lived and breathed combat. Even in armour he could tell these men weren't up for the task. What he wouldn't give for some of the special ops people right now, but they were all drunk or they were posted on other missions.

He met the mandalorians less than a klick from his proper destination. 10 mandos in different stages of being drunk. He would have counted his lucky stars if it hadn't have been for the Echani boy. Something about the boy screamed for him to move out of the way or get torn to shreds. That little animal part in him made him want to run and hide from this boy. The only person who seemed calmly irritated about the situation as if they were little more an a nuisance. So instead he spoke to the oldest mandalorian there "Sir we are here to take you into prison. All of you on the crime of hacking and taking over all the electronic systems on this world. Come with us now or we will be forced to fire." He just needed not to look at the echani boy and all would be fine. Just don't look.

Skorvek simply chuckled a little when @Adara Mantis asked if her mother and father can learn as well he pondered the thought Her mother might prove difficult to teach given her very presence is practically nonexistent to the force and he doesn't know who her father is and before he could ask he noted that Adara went straight to sleep in his arms, This child confused him a little that such a child around him could be so trusting and fall asleep so quickly where others are alert or afraid of him he noticed the bracelet start glowing and pulsing red no doubt a homing beacon for her if she was separated. With that said it was high time to return her before her caretaker or her mother or both start worrying about her, He put a little ring on her finger that had a small red gem on it the ring would act as her Bracelet would act and feed her enough dark side energy to keep her satisfied which now after the serum he gave her would be very little. With a wave of his free hand the runes pulsed and glowed before he and Adara where not far from [member="Beth Australis-Mantis"] the pulse could be felt by a tiny amount before it went away.

Beth had been concerned about [member="Lilik Mantis"] but she began to worry about something else - specifically, she began to worry about where [member="Adara Raxis"] was at. Beth had assumed the small girl was with the Panathan nannies that Darth Carnifex gave to [member="Yasha Mantis"]. Beth kicked herself mentally - they couldn't rely on the nannies to watch over the child. Sure, it was their job, but Beth felt it was mostly her responsibility, especially when she knew her mom was getting some time to finally relax!

"Let me check, I'm sure she's here, don't worry mom or anyone!"

Beth wasn't quite freaked out yet - after all, she may be nearby. Beth checked limo to no avail.

But then she felt something weird, a small tingle in her Force presence. It was close but not exactly that close. Why would she feel something like that before? She needed to find it and she somehow knew exactly where to go to find it. "I'll be back," she murmured to her mom and the others as she took off running through the snow.

After a couple minutes, she finally reached close to where the [member="Skorvek"] had appeared with the runes. She stopped several feet away as she stared at the massive Anubian. She didn't even know what species he was, in truth. She had never seen anyone quite like him. And... Was that the dark side of the Force? Her skin naturally tingled, fear riddling through her tiny frame. Her ears pulled back defensively - it was, in many ways, a similar reaction to the first time she saw Adara. Beth rationally knew that just because someone was dark sided, it did not mean they were evil. Yet, she couldn't help her reaction - it was just natural considering how opposite on the spectrum she was.

Beth began to walk up to the Anubian carefully with her eyebrow perked. Was he holding Adara? Beth paused a few feet away from him. "Hi... I, um, I think you have my sister."

He turned over and looked down at the young pointy eared girl[member="Beth Australis-Mantis"] that walked up to him and told him that he was holding her sister atleast that saves him the trouble of having to look for her mother, He simply walked over to her his Cyan eyes glowed as he looked down at her then to [member="Adara Raxis"] before without a word simply and carefully knelt down to her level before handing her Adara being careful in trying not to wake up the young child and spoke in his deep echoey tone.

She is a special little one....I feel that she and i might be seeing more of eachother in the future...If her mother doesn't object.

Last thing even he wanted was to enrage her mother if the child was as strong as she is now..

[member="Beth Australis-Mantis"] levelled her paintball gun, and Yasha felt a rip in her chest, as if the ribs surrounding her heart turned to marshmallow creme. All she wanted to do was hug her daughter, and Yasha realized this was what it was…

… to love and be loved.

A sting took her eyes as Yasha Mantis discovered the love of family, the trust that above all, with her family around her, all else was ephemera.

Meaningless.

All the armadas and armies in the known universe could attack, but with her family close, with her Mando’ade around her, Mand’alor the Infernal would weather every storm.

Funny how a battle against a boring old building with a bunch of paintball guns could be thematic. All changing, but there it was. The proof in it all seeing [member="Shia Kryze"] relax with a paintball bazooka (where on Dantooine had she gotten that!?), in seeing [member="Cynthia Solus"] come into the vode, one of the many who belonged. Beth shot [member="Lilik Mantis"] in the backside, and Yasha burst out laughing, shaking her head at her Yalilyr and friend.

“Watch your six, Lilik, my daughter’s a crack shot.” As Yasha fired her own paintball gun at the building, she felt at peace. “Beth, don’t pay for the funeral before you see the medical bill. Lilik’s fine.”

Then @Stardust Bloodstone rushed after her daughter, and Yasha looked around. “Beth? Where’s… MOMALOR, location on [member="Adara Raxis"] and Brigh Bloodstone. Now!”

“Chill there Mand’alor the Chickybabe. I’s got her. Was wonderin’ when you’d poke your head up n’notice.” MOMALOR's holographically created head bobbed above Yasha’s gauntlet comp.

“LOCATION!”

“Alright, alright, keep your beskar panties on… thought you’d be grateful to know how close they is. Kept everyone safe and everything… Ram’ika had the right idea… look, see? Safe and copacetic.” The AI’s hologram pinged two locations, and Yasha turned toward @Stardust Bloodstone.

“Star, I’ve got a bead on your girl. Sending it to your wrist comp now.”

Yasha stopped as Beth went running off, then stopped again for a different reason. “Wait… MOMALOR, what do you mean Ram’ika had the right idea?”

“Your boy, prodigy I reckon. He’s taken over his first planet, Ma’am.”

“But Baiko was negotiating and finalizing the paperwork for the inclusion…”

“Sure! Yep! Chickybabe, that’s accurate… she was. I got bored, and Ram’ika you see, Ram’ika figured it would be a good idea to ensure you lot didn’t get interrupted, so I may have…”

“May have what!?”

“… alright, gee, testy chick-“

“MOMALOR!” The AI’s hologram flickered, a motion Yasha knew only as the electronic version of fear or a stutter.

“I took over the planetary defences and all them militia codes. Whole planet’s yours. A few of the security militia are bothering [member="Kaine Australis"] about it, but he and [member="Tom Taff"], them lot got it covered. Ram’ika’s peachy, by the way. Kept him safe too. A thank you would be nice. Saved you and Baiko loads of trouble. Maybe now, you can thank K-”

Yasha shut down the program and looked to the heavens. “Of course my three year old would inadvertently take over a planet. Of course… Manda, what am I going to do when he’s thirteen?! Verd’goten of taking over the universe. Conquer an empire… spend a weekend without blowing anything up. That’s it… knitting. Ram’ika’s verd’goten’ll have to do with knitting.”

Looking to the ladies around her, Yasha huffed, watched [member="Skorvek"] (when did he get here?) give Beth a sleeping Adara, and picked up her paintball gun.

“Round two?”

Guess it wasn’t vandalism, when thanks to MOMALOR and Ram’ika, Yasha technically owned the place.

Little Adara cuddled up in [member="Skorvek"]'s warm (and slightly fuzzy) arms, until he returned within sight of [member="Beth Australis-Mantis"]. The girl slept easily with a full tumbly, the serum doing its' appointed task of settling her hunger for the Dark. Images and flickers came to her in a laced dream, echoing through her mind with the velocity of a slowly crawling river.

A pale hand above her head. A clenched fist, dots of black flowing, hitting her skin.

Her first meal.

Barely aware of what transpired in her infant days, Adara remembered none of it, but images never died, and what Adara saw then was locked in her subconscious. A body craving the Dark. Parents who were Force Dead. A sister and grandfather who were firmly entrenched in the Light.

Skorvek's ring sat loose and welcome on her finger.

The child continued to slumber peacefully in her sister's arms, a flush of rare health in her face. The sensation of her feeding remained on her skin, sensible especially to the girl who knew Adara her entire life. Yet, too Beth could (if desired) feel the contentment layered upon Adara. The delight.

Safety and belonging, in loving arms.

Tom watched as kaine threatened the officer who was trying to arrest them. No only that the officer really tried to avoid his gaze. Not he had to after Kaine got him to shoot his plate and then smashed the guy's face with his gauntlets. Within seconds the others either ran or engaged in a brawl with [member="Kaine Australis"] and the Ten mandalorians that had come with him. The battle was over before it began with half the force running after their officer was dropped and the other half being overwhelmed.

Tom sighed picking up the leader dusting him off and waking him up. "Are you done now? Can we just rule the planet like we always were and you can go and have a nice drink?" The man tried looking anywhere else but Tom's face. "Can you just answer the question?" Tom would ask still politely. "unhuhh" The man tried replying with his broken jaw. Tom looked at the man in a sorry state. So he healed the man's jaw allowing it to reset using the force. "Try again please."

The officer would look wildly at tom before saying "Yesss." Tom smiled "Now that wasn't so hard was it." Tom would pull out a corellian whiskey handing it to the man. "Here drink then be on your way good sir." He would drop the man on his feet and turn to Kaine. "Well Uncle Kaine looks like you did the most damage so you get your tihaar back, Although I suggest you share it with these guys, They look like they could easily go for a round two." Tom would say looking at the mandalorians with them.

Tom would then hand over the tihaar and make a bee line back to [member="Mykes Vatak"] kissing the man's cheek when he got there. He decided he need to know more about what his lover enjoyed so he could get the man a gift. After all he deserved it after what happened today.
