The first step towards capturing an enemy vessel on the open sea is disabling her sails. As such, the enemy maneuvered around and fired Ion blasts to disrupt the Espadia's engine block. It appeared they wanted to take the vessel and her crew in one piece. Thusly, boarding vessels and then, very likely, skyhooks and tractor beams. With some disdain Sam was loath to discover that it was not just one enemy boarding vessel either. It was a dozen. Without the Republic Starfighters to intercept them, it was likely the Espadia's crew would be outnumbered too. Outnumbered on their own boat no less.
This was a battle so grossly in the enemies favor that Sam had to cringe. The Espadia had thousands of crew to shoot through but so did those enemy boats sitting out there. There was no place to hide.
Her com buzzed and she was requested to the bridge immediately. Why, she didn't know. Sam was near the medical deck and it would take time to get there. Even at a sprint. Sam crossed her fingers that all the blast doors were still open. Otherwise this would be a very short trip indeed.
